Glossy's Disappearance (English version)
The FALLOUT spy agents—Birdie, Diva, Whistler, Glossy, and Frost-Byte—arrived in the Las Vegas of China. Macau. They were assigned on a mission by Steel, their team leader who stayed back at base, to find who was messing with their earpieces.
For the last few missions, the earpieces that all agents wore were glitching or cut off. Frost-Byte, who designed them, insisted on coming to Macau with them to get to the bottom of them.
"Do you think that the person who stole FALLOUT's tech and files also messed with the earpiece?" Glossy asked, his black curls bouncing up and down. They were all in a co-ed room, much to Raven Fallon's annoyance.
"Our hostages—Cutthroat, Knockout, and Brooklyn—didn't say much," Diva replied, lying down on her bunk bed. Glossy was below her, Whistler and Frost-Byte shared a bunk, but Raven got lucky, having her own bed.
Raven didn't understand why Diva was here, but Steel seemingly wanted Diva to become a field agent instead of a distraction one. Whistler toyed with his fingers, sighing. "Get sleep, people. We have a long day ahead of us, we need to trace the earpieces' glitches to the casino that Steel told us about."
Lights went out as Raven drifted to an unpleasant slumber, dreaming of her father. Finch Fallon was also a spy agent, but addicted to his work. His addiction was his job. He neglected Raven, she was a self-made lone wolf.
Dad raised Raven to be an agent as well, but she hated the idea. Eventually, Finch Fallon died on one of his missions, he was known as a hero—but to Raven, he was a deadbeat father. When she went to law university, she didn't expect Steel to offer her a position at FALLOUT, but the cost was that she'd have to erase her past life.
Raven also didn't expect to accept it.
Suddenly, she was shaken awake by Frost-Byte. She blushed, knowing how awkward it was for him to loom over her bed. "Glossy's gone!" he cried out and Raven blinked.
Glossy disappeared...
"I already informed Steel," Diva said, sitting at the kitchen countertop. She shuddered, sighing. "And to think I got mad at him for the times he called me mamacita."
Whistler whistled anxiously, looking angry. "Stupid guy probably got himself kidnapped or worse." Or worse, as much as Raven disliked Glossy—but she disliked everyone—Glossy dying was a horrible thought.
Frost-Byte was typing on his laptop intently, showing the screen to the others. "I hacked into Macau's traffic lights and street cams—nothing yet, I don't think Glossy left the hotel."
"Isn't that illegal?" Diva asked.
"Everything we do at FALLOUT is illegal," Raven shrugged.
"So you think Glossy got kidnapped in the hotel?" Whistler asked, furrowing his brows. "Wait, no one has explicit access to our room, not even hotel staff, Steel made sure..." He took a breath. "Someone here is a traitor."
Diva's eyes flocked to Raven. "How loyal," she muttered.
"Sorry, Birdie." Diva didn't sound sincere.
"Guys, don't get angry," Frost-Byte complained.
Whistler scowled. "How do we know that you didn't take Glossy?"
"Get that temper under control, please—"
Whistler slammed his hand on the counter. "This is a load of shit! I'm leaving to find Glossy, let's hope he's not already dead." He left the hotel room as Diva huffs, frustrated, storming off to the bedroom, cursing Whistler's name.
Raven turned to Frost-Byte. "You believe I'm innocent, right?" Why did his opinion matter so much to her? When he didn't reply, she had her answer.
She stormed out of the room. Finch Fallon may have not been responsible, but Raven would be, she had to find her teammate.
She had called Steel, but there was no response. Great, she's MIA while Raven's team fell apart. She never liked group missions, solos were often better, but she suddenly felt so lost without them.
Where could Glossy be? She was sitting in the lobby when Frost-Byte came to her. He handed her an espresso which she declined. "Hardly any victories worth some caffeine."
"Come on, just this time, it's two in the morning."
Raven took the espresso, sipping it. "Thanks."
"Sorry for being...awkward..." Frost-Byte was nervous, the clock ticking behind them. "I believe you, Birdie. Truly."
That was all she needed. They stood up as Frost-Btye explained his plan, and they rushed to the elevator. "They're holding Glossy in the basement, I tracked his earpiece." He pressed the Level Zero button as the elevator surged to life. "I hacked into the cams to see someone in a hotel take him."
Raven gritted her teeth. "Who opened the doors for Glossy to be kidnapped?"
"Not sure."
Eventually, they arrived at Level Zero. Handgun out, Raven traversed the empty floor. Suddenly, she heard a whimper and hid behind a beam with Frost-Byte. Glossy was tied to a chair, tape over his mouth.
The kidnapper was a tall woman, dressed in black. To Raven's shock, it was Sofia Garcia, someone she arrested a few months ago. To think of it, many of FALLOUT's enemies were resurfacing.
Raven checked her gun. "I only have one bullet left." Rookie move. Sofia was so young, would she kill her to save Glossy's life? You're always held responsible, Dad's and Steel's voices overlapped.
Bang!
Raven pulled the trigger and Sofia fell to the floor. Frost-Byte quickly went over to Sofia, the bullet lodged in Sofia's knee. She screamed in pain as Raven swiftly un-tied Glossy's bonds, ripping off the tape.
"Oh God!" Glossy gasped. "You shot her in the leg!"
"She'll live, but just in jail." Raven used the rope to tie up Sofia against the wall. "Glossy, what the hell happened? Who took you?"
Glossy caught his breath. "I-It was—" He was suddenly shot by Sofia, who used a gun from her pockets. "Camilo!" Frost-Byte shrieked, pressing his hand to Glossy's chest wound.
"Loyalty never wavers," Sofia said cruelly.
"Stay with us," Raven cried as Glossy's eyes closed. "Please, no!"
