Wally West wished that there was actually such a thing as a simple recon mission with his team. Something always seemed to go wrong as if life was out to get him. They were never granted the easy way out of such situations. Was this just his team, or did the Justice League have to go through life's tormenting as well?

The speedster looked down to see his boyfriend and best friend thrashing in his arms, yelling and screaming due to fear induced by one of Scarecrows new toxins. Long story short, the mission has gone wrong, and Robin had just happened to be Scarecrows next victim.

"Robin, it's me, Kid Flash. Calm down, it's okay! "Kid Flash knew his words would have no effect on the younger teen, but he persisted anyways.

"Kid Flash, how far are you from the cave?" Kaldurs voice rang in his head over the mind link.

"Just 5 minutes away."

The team had decided it would be better if they dealt with Scarecrow and his men while Kid Flash would run Robin over to the Mountain to get the cure of the toxin. If left in his system too long, who knows what would happen.

Kid Flash looked down at his boyfriend once more. Beads of sweat were pouring from his forehead, his eyes were tightly shut, and he was mumbling something unintelligible. He looks pretty awful in his current state.

And at that moment is when Kid Flash tripped on a large rock that he had failed to notice in front of his path.

"Shit!" The ginger yelled out as he fell forward, the younger teen falling from his arms.

Kid Flash immediately jumped up to continue before Robin could get even more hurt, but as he saw the boy wonder, he realized it was much too late for that.

"Robin!"

The Boy Wonder had a sharp batarang held to his neck, his obviously eyes lost in space despite being hidden behind a mask.

"P-please, p-put that down, Dick. It's o-okay..."

The male simply shook his head.

"J-just... Everything is going to be okay... J-just d-drop the weapon." Kid Flash seemed to be trying to convince himself as he spoke.

"N-no... You're going to take me to them! You're going to hurt me! I'd rather die!" The teens face was contorted with fear and he shook horribly,"I don't want to go! Leave me alone! I can be with my parents this way!"

His words broke the others heart.

"D-Dick, stop! Please, I love you. I-I would never hurt you!"

"Lies! All you want to do is hurt me!" Tears began to fall.

"N-no, when have I ever hurt you?"

"Leave me alone!" The teen lifted his hand up to drag the weapon across his neck, time slowing for the speedster.

Kid Flash ran across to his significant other as quickly as he possible could, but he was just too slow. He couldn't stop the blade from piercing the others neck, sending blood gushing to the grass below them.

"NO!" Wally West let out a scream as he finally reached Dick. He placed his own hands on the others neck in an attempt to stop the bleeding, to no avail.

"This is your fault." Surprisingly, Robin was still able to speak, but his words came out gurgled,"Y-you killed me. You weren't fast enough!"

"No, Dick, no! I would never."

"You did this!"

"What did you do?!" Wally tuned around to see a new face, M'ganns,"Wally?! Why?! You killed him!"

The teen threw his hands up, pleading innocence,"N-no! I-I- I'm sorry!" Tears flowed from his eyes unlike ever before.

He had killed his boyfriend.

All because he wasn't fast enough...

Then he woke up.

He was immediately met with the sight of Robins frantic face,"You're awake." The said boy gasped.

Wally ignored him as he sprung forward,"You're alive!" Wally pulled Robins face towards into a long kiss, nothing else on his mind. Such as why he was in an infirmary bed with an IV attacked to his arm.

The young boy didn't seem to mind,"Um... of course I'm alive. You are the one that was exposed to Scarecrows fear toxin after all, not me."

Kid Flash paused, thinking over the words that were just said,"I-I.... I had been exposed to that? No, it was you...."His voice trailed off.

"Is that what you were seeing? Is that why you were just thrashing?"

The concept was too much for the speedster to grasp in his current state. He pulled the ebony into a hug, burying his face into his shoulder,"I don't even know what's happening,.,, but I do know, that you're alive and that's all that matters to me right now. I love you so much, Dick Grayson."

"Okay... you're acting weird. I'll go bring in Batman."

They shared a laugh,"Just stay with me for a while..."

"Of course. I would never leave you."
