Pillow here with an update

CHAPTER 8: Well Shit

"So I did some digging,"

"Ok..."

"And it turns out that your boyfriend-"

"Not my boyfriend,"

"Whatever, he's a total loner,"

"Rude much?"

"I mean he's not on social, and everyone I asked doesn't even know him,"

Lia and I were in the bathroom waiting for Alex, it was weird. Lia had been with us more and more lately because Joey had been seriously MIA.

"I honestly don't know why you hate him so much"

"I don't hate him, I mean he could be an ax murderer for all you know I'm just trying to protect you," she said applying a layer of lip gloss and straightening her sunglasses "Who'll help me pick out my sunglasses if you're dead?"

I rolled my eyes before answering "You could always go with Joey,"

"You sure she wouldn't just ditch me," Lia said pouting

I grinned and at the same time Alex came out of the restroom and we left heading towards our next class which was calculus.

"So," Alex started "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation and I was thinking that if we want to find out more about your lover boy,"

"He's not my lover boy," I muttered

"We could always, y'know follow him around. Make sure he's not a potential threat," she finished ignoring me

"We're not stalking him Alex,"

"It's not the worst idea," Lia interjected

I rolled my eyes as we walked into calculus and took our seats, I guess the teacher was late.

"So it's agreed, we follow him around after lunch to make sure that he doesn't put body parts in his locker," Alex finalized with Lia nodding in agreement 'and me sighing and placing my attention on the teacher who had just walked into the class.

Needless to say the class was a boring fifty five minute waste of time, I wasn't a huge fan of geometry ... or any other sort of math to be honest. After a few hours of class it was finally lunch or as Alex put it: Operation Uncover and Discover (I just put it as Operation Stalk my almost boyfriend and possibly creep him out therefore making him never wanting him to go out with me again) but I still followed, I guess I was curious.

Lia, Alex and I first scouted the empty classes before heading to the gym and peeking through the door. We peeked our heads through the door and shushed each other while watching, half because we wanted to see if Jamie was there and half because basketball players are pretty cute.

"You do know that other people need to get through this door right?" a voiced asked from behind us

We all jumped and Lia threw a (well intentioned) but poorly aimed punch that missed ... by a wide margin

The person (who turned out to be Adil), walked through past us once we had moved before stopping

"I know I'll probably regret it but what exactly are you guys looking for?" he asked

"Nothing interesting," Alex replied sharply

"Wait," I said "Do you know anyone called Jamie?"

"Um, no why do you ask,"

"Don't, worry it's fine,"

"Sure," with that he walked inside the gym and we collectively went back to the cafeteria. Sighing I leaned forward and placed by hands on my chin, the charms on my bracelet tinkling.

"I guess this was a bust," Lia grimaced before reaching in her bag and bringing out a pill bottle before unscrewing the lid and swallowing two of the pills dry.

"How can you swallow pills dry?" Alex asked disgusted

"How can you not?" Lia retaliated

"Well it's just because you have a week throat," I interjected "I don't think we're going to find him guys, maybe you're right and he's an ax murderer with bodies in his locker," I finished getting up

"Where are you going?" Alex asked

I didn't answer but I just kept walking until I reached outside, something about nature and being surrounded by the breeze felt so calming. But then again I was breathing in second hand smoke and could hear the loud chatter of freshmen as they walked around. I kept walking until I reached the steps in front of the school and sat down

"Didn't expect to see you here although then again you do attend this train wreck of a school," a voice said

I turned back to realize that it was Clearwater boy, whose name I still did not know

"What's your name?" I blurted

He smirked before answering "Pretty straightforward aren't you?"

"One of my many qualities,"

I stared at him and he stared back before seemingly relinquishing

"Alright you win my name is-"

"Also what are you doing here?"

I had this terrible habit of interrupting people, I really need to stop doing that

"Well at least give me time to breathe Ariel,"

I was a bit stunned at that, my name wasn't Ariel. I mean Ariel is a beautiful name but it definitely isn't mine

"And I'm here on important business and speaking of business you should probably mind yours,"

"Well this is my school and yours is like a town away so-"

"De lo contrario Ariel you did not buy this school, therefore it does not belong to you,"

"My name isn't-"

"I'll see you around Ariel," he called walking away from me

"Hopefully a lot later than sooner," I muttered

I was still wondering how he got into his head that my name was Ariel, Erica didn't sound anything like Ariel ... did it?

"Does Ariel sound anything like Erica?" I asked Adil as he was walking me to our next class

"Well phonetically I guess why?" he replied

"No reason, just wondering," I said quickly

"Y'know one of the lake waters came over today," he started

"Oh really?" I said pretending to be interested

"Yup, he wanted to talk to coach, coach told him to beat it though so-"

I mean I didn't count it a being rude, I already knew all of this so it wasn't really news besides-

"Hello Erica," Adil said tapping my head "Are you in there?"

"Um yes I am definitely here and aware of what you're saying," I answered blinking and swatting his hand away from my head,

"Ok what was the last thing I said?" he questioned

My eyes widened as I tried to remember the last thing he said

"Oh would you look at that class has started and I'm late, I guess I'll catch you later bye!" I said looking at the nonexistent watch on my wrist before slipping into my last class of the day (which was History). I settled down and tried to focus on whatever the teacher was talking about our topic for today, industriali- something or the other. My thoughts however, drifted to Clearwater boy whose name I still did not know. Maybe Adil knows him, although that would be unlikely, we usually just called all of them Lakewaters.

"Miss Jackson, would you care to answer the question?" The teacher asked

I blinked looking around to see if anyone in the class would help me, they couldn't. I guess this is why thy tell you to pay attention in class. The teacher gave me a warning before resuming the class and I tried to focus. The next twenty minutes were the same as before, boring and uneventful so once the teacher dismissed us I hurriedly went to my locker to drop and collect some books. It was during this process that I heard voices, loud voices. On the one hand I could stay here, mind my business and go straight home or; I could not mind my business and see what was going on.

Obviously, I chose the latter.

I walked over seeing Dani with her arms folded looking at the commotion and smirking.

"What's going on?" I asked

"See for yourself," Dani whispered pointing at the source of the noise

In the middle of everything was a scared Ty, a cocky Joey and an extremely angry Alex who was currently shouting at Ty and occasionally Joey.

"I can't believe you," she screamed at Ty before slapping him in the face "You could have broken up with me you know, you could have told me you could have talked. But no, you had to cheat, and not only that but you cheated with her," she continues pointing at Joey when she said her

"Oh," I said and Dani simply smiled

"She doesn't even seem sorry about it," I said noticing Joey slip away from the whole thing

"Yeah well if she walks like a bitch and talks like a bitch-" Dani started

But she was interrupted by Alex grabbing Joey by the hair and pulling "Where the hell do you think you're going you bitch, you think you can get away with this huh?" she asked before punching her.

Well shit

She is going to be in so much trouble.
