I sit in my room 8 years old, my wolf ears twitching lightly on my head. "Sarine," I hear someone call and I look up blankly. "Yes?" I respond calmly but quickly. "You may go outside today and play with one of our clients sons." I nod and stand up, following my brunette mother out the door, down the stairs and out the door.

"So this is little Sarine, I've been so excited to meet you." A tall man greets me and I smile brightly. "Its nice to meet you as well sir." I respond in fake happiness. "This is my son Mitsukuni and his cousin Takashi. Yasuchika couldn't make it today, I must send his apologies, he has gotten sick." I nod respectfully and bow slightly, "please send him my condolences."

This man isn't so bad, he has mentioned or questioned my ears nor tail. "Ri-Chan! Ri-Chan! Come play with us!" The boy, Mitsukuni requests. "Alright..." I answer calmly in a quiet voice. Mitsukuni grins and grabs my hand, pulling me away from the adults. A last glance towards my mother reminds me to be good.

"What do you want to do Ri-Chan?" He asks happily, holding onto a bunny. The boy next to him is silent and just observing. "It doesn't matter, what would you like to do?" I respond, not wanting to make him do something boring. His head tilts, "but I want you to have fun too Ri-Chan."

I almost gasp in surprise, no one has ever asked my opinion on anything, not even what I had to eat. "B-But-." He stops me, "so Ri-Chan. What would you like to do?" I smile and look down. "I'd like to play in the pool." He frowns, "I don't have a swimsuit though, Ri-Chan." I look at him quickly, "we have extra boy swimsuits in the house! I mean we don't have to play in the pool if you don't wa-."

He stops me with a smile, "alright. Let's go play in the pool. Right Takashi?" He looks to his cousin that grunts and we run inside, changing in different rooms.

"Ri-Chan, are you done?" I look down as I come out in my regular clothes. "Ri-Chan?" I frown and purse my lips. "I....I don't know how t-to-." He grabs my hand, a small blush on his face. "I'll help you Ri-Chan." I blush darker and nod.

We finish getting me into my swimsuit and he taught me how to change. "Thanks Mitsu-Kun." I mumble smally and he smiles at me, "its fine!" He takes my hand again and pulls me to the pool.

That day, I had fun.

Over the next few years, I've started to have my own opinion on things. My mother didn't like the change in me, not at all. She finally decided to do something about it when she found out who was giving me my own thoughts.

"Mitsu-Kun! Mitsu-Kun!" I shout while crying and running to him as he walks into the house. "What's the matter Ri-Chan? What's going on?" I cry into his shirt. "M-Mother is making m-me leave." I cry even harder. "I-I don't w-want to leave!" He picks me up, patting my head and carrying me to my room.

"Its alright Ri-Chan, don't worry. We'll meet again." He assures, "p-promise?" I ask softly and he smiles, wiping my tears. "Promise." I then notice a gift next to him. "What's that Mitsukuni?" I ask. "Its for you," I look at him in shock. "F-For me?" He smiles and nods, placing it in my lap.

I open the gift carefully, I don't ever get gifts. Inside is a small white wolf. "I-I can't take this.." I say in shock, pushing it back towards him but he stops me. "Yes you can Ri-Chan, wolfs have their own mindset and work with their packs. You have your own thoughts and ideas, we're your pack that's here to support you." I feel tears spring to my eyes again and I launch myself on him, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"Th-Thank you!" I cry more, wanting to stay as long as I could with him. "Miss Raya, its time to go." I hold on tighter to Mitsukuni. "No! I don't want to!" I say, not letting go. "Ri-Chan... I don't want you to get in trouble." Mitsukuni whispers in my ear and my bottom lip trembles as he pulls away.

I look at Takashi, who is near the door. "I.... Goodbye Mitsukuni, Takashi." I say sadly and walk to the door of the room, holding onto my new teddy in one of my hands. "Goodbye Sarine..." I hear Mitsukuni whisper and I see Takashi frown sadly.

I'm almost out the front door of the house when I hear a loud, "wait!" I stop, turning around, only to be tackled. "Mits-?" I'm cut off by something on my mouth. Lips. I don't struggle and for a moment I'm stunned, then he pulls away.

"Kiss back," he orders and I nod. His lips press to my own and we begin to kiss again. "Get off of her!" My mother shouts, yanking Mitsukuni away and pulling me by my tail. "Itai! Mitsu-Kun!" I shout tearily and in pain. "Ri-Chan! That's our promise to wait!" I smile through my tears at his blurry figure.

"Okay!" I shout and yelp again when my tail is yanked as I'm thrown in the car. "You useless trash, disobeying me. You're so worthless." I whimper and my ears flatten on my head. My hands pull my wolf closer to me. "What is that?" My mother asks in disgust. "I...it was a gift." She almost hisses at me, "from that boy? I should get rid of it."

I cower slightly, "no! No! I'll be good! I promise!" She grins evilly, "alright. You slip up and you can say bye bye to....what's his name?" I glance down at my teddy, "Uni, Uni-Kun."

To remember him.
