Manik Pov:

"My amma was dead" she said tearful eyes. I am shocked, even shock was small word to describe my situation. I looked with confused face.

"Chiquita! But you just talked with your mom right" she bend down her head and crying.

"Is umm is she your stepmoth-" she looked at me with anger face.

"No! She.is.not.my.stepmother don't even utter that word infront of me" i took a deep breath and looked at her.

"So who is she? What happened to your mother?" She didn't replied to my question, instead of replying to me, she was fidgeting with her fingers. I sighed while looking at her, took her hand and entwined with mine. She leaned on my shoulder.

"Chiquita if you are comfortable then share with me otherwise leave it, okay" after that we fell slient for sometime.

"When i was 6 years me appa and amma went for there college reunion, while returning home we met with an accident. Then amma called to her childhood friend for help, before they came appa -" she stopped in middle and again continued.

"Amma was in critical condition they took amma to icu, i protested with them so much to take me inside, but no one allowed me." Her eyes are flowing continuously, she rubbed her nose with her handkerchief and continued.

"Then a nurse came to us and said we can go inside, i thought that time amma was fine, we can finally go home, when i go inside na manik, she was lying in between so many wires, for a minute i even got scare to go inside with lots of strength i went inside, amma called me near her and said"

Nandini's Pov (Flash back):

No one are letting me inside i want go inside, then i looked at my side amma's frnd was sitting beside me.

I looked her at her"Aunty what happened to amma?" I asked with crying face.

"Nothing happened to amma,okay" she said while taking me in her lap. Then a nurse came outside and said.

"Mam, doctor calling you both inside" saying that she again went inside. Aunty picked me up in her arms, took me inside the room. When i went inside amma was lying on the bed there are so many  wires are lying on her,first i am scared see them but again i got angry, don't they know she was patient why they are added more pain to my amma by keeping wires on her. She must struggling with those wires. So i started yelling on the doctor uncle.

"Uncle! Why are adding more weight to my amma by keeping those wires remove them" i am wailing seeing my moms condition. Amma chuckled at me, called me near her by signalling with her fingers. I whinned in aunty's to get down and go to amma. Amma stroke my cheeks slowly.

"Why are you crying kanna? Never cry like that amma and appa doesn't like when you have tears in your eyes you are our strong bachu right, hai na? So don't cry, okay."

"Amma please get well soon na, then we can go fastly" i said with sad pout. She smiled at me sadly and said.

"I'm afraid that i can do it? Sorry bacha but i can't come to home" my breaths got stuck.

"But why amma?"

"Because your appa is alone, so i have to be with him, you know right appa doesn't like being alone"

"But where is appa amma?" I asked while huccuping.

"Your appa is with ayyappa kanna he went to thank him for saving you from the accident, he is alone over there. So i have to go to your appa"

"Amma please take me with you amma" saying that i started crying loudly. Aunty came from behind and caught me, i struggled to get out from her hold.

"Kanna come to me" she took my small hands and continued

"Kanna you have to be strong. We will always be there with you here, in your heart. Never cry for us we will see you from sky, we will glow for you as fireflies. So don't cry, okay. Be a good girl. Always listen to your heart, whatever it says just do it,okay." She turned to aunty.

"Niki take care of my doll, she hate rats so don't let her go to garden in night times, she even hate being lonely, so always be with her" niki aunty nodded her head while weeping.

"Amma please amma please don't go by leaving me alone." I said while crying heavily. She stroke my hair and said.

"No you have to be here kanna. You have to do so many things, you have make me and appa proud. You have to explore the world and learn new things, fall in love and get married like that there are so many things, okay." Saying that she started breathing heavily, niki aunty again pick me up. Doctor uncle was checking her suddenly amma stopped breathing. Doctor uncle checked her hand and turn to us and nodded his head as no. I couldn't understand anything. I was struggling to her but niki aunty, she was holding her tight and weeping silently. Doctor uncle slowly covered amma with blanket, i didn't understand anything i just want to be in my mama's arms. So i started kicking in the air and blabbing.

"Please.....please let me go to my amma. Amma.....amma why are you not opening your eyes amma please don't leave me, amma." The i started crying loudly.

Avi uncle came towards us and said.

"It's time to take her" he said with sad tone, he has glimpse of tears in his eyes. They started taking my amma away from me. I started shouting.

"Hey! Where are you taking my amma? Don't take my amma. Aunty please leave me they are taking my amma please leave" she tried to come out of the hold but she failed miserably.

"Ammmmaaaaaaaa" saying that she fainted in her aunt's arms.

Nandini Pov (flashback end):

Manik Pov :

I was shocked after listening her side story"When i open my eyes i am in aunty's home." She said while looking at her chain.

"Is it umm is it your mamma's chain" she nodded her head.

"How did your relatives agreed for giving to your aunty and uncle?"

"No they didn't agree, My relatives tried to take my custody for money but niki aunty and avi uncle fighted with them and took my custody, when i was 16 years old my appa's brother kidnap me and aunty's son for money. I was so scared that time, they tried to kill both of us, but avi uncle came on time and saved us, he took us to home, niki aunty came to us and hugged tightly. That day i seriously missed my amma i couldn't hold myself so i called her mom, from that day onwards i started calling her mom" she looked at me. I wipped her tears and encouraged her to continue.

"After that incident uncle couldn't trust anyone over there, so for our safety he send us to london, mom protested to send me. But uncle convenienced her some how. Me and abhi bhai went to london for our studies. After that incident we never came to india.Whenever there are holidays or festivals mom and uncle came to us" i gripped our entwined hands tightly and said.

"So this is the reason for you to broke down that day in picasso museu" she nodded her in response.

Now i got the clear picture why she broke down infront of that painting.

"Earlier you called someone idiot right who is he?" I asked her divert  from the situation.

"Abhi bhai, mom's son. He staying with mom and uncle from one year and looking after the business"

"Hmmmmm....show me his photo" she looked at me and sniffed cutely.

"No way, he was also in business field you will identify him easily so no" i huffed and mumbled okay dryly. We kept silent for sometime. Suddenly i entangled our fingers.

"Ice cream" she nodded her head cutely. Oh God! I just want to gobble her. We went to near by ice cream parlour. I ordered 2 scoops double chocolate Belgium ice cream with extra choco chips and chocolate sausage. She ordered strawberry mint choco chip ice cream.

We sat on the bench and started relishing our flavours.

"Chiquita you call your aunty as mom right then why didn't you call your uncle as dad"

"I always feel guilty for not calling uncle as dad, it's not like that i don't feel like that but-" she stopped in between and sighed.

"I don't know why i couldn't call him as dad, once on his birthday i forced myself and call him as dad everyone are so happy, Mom was so happy that i started called him as dad. As a Pyscharitst i cover my discomfort and uneasiness perfectly but he found it and you know what he said.

Nandini's Pov (Flashback):

I practiced so many times infront of mirror. Suddenly mom called me down as it is nearly 12. I went down with the gift for uncle. As he came inside we shouted 'Happy birthday' and gave the gifts to him.

"Happy birthday dad" i said while  giving the gift. Everyone are shocked mainly uncle. Mom at once hugged me with happy tears, avi uncle got stucked, after coming out of the shock he came to me and hugged me tightly. Sometime we chit chatted and went back to our respective rooms for some sleep. In morning we got up early and went to temple. After getting back from temple we all settled in dining hall for breakfast. Mom made so many varieties dosa, aloo ka parathe, kachoore, poha.We all fastly started digging in our food. Meanwhile mom asked me.

"Doll pass this poha to dad" i nodded with small smile and passed it to him. After break fast uncle said he has something to talk, saying that he took my hand and made me sit on sofa and sat beside me. Mom and abhi bhai sat infront of us.

"Doll thanks for calling me dad, you really made my day, but never force yourself doll, never do something which you are not comfortable, words never define the love bachaa only feeling and care which we show defines a relationship, in our case you already gave your dad's place long back so words never change that feeling between us, for example right now you just compromise yourself for my happiness you called me dad means you care for me and love me, you put me top in your priority list and thinking to make me happy, that's enough for me jaan" i chuckled at him. Mom and abhi bhai was giving proud smile to uncle. He holded my face lovingly and said.

"Darling we has father and daughter relationship by calling me uncle or dad it won't change na or does it change?"

"No"

"See no right, so call me uncle heartfully, okay." I nodded and said.

"Okay uncle"

"That's like my daughter, so kids where you want to go today" i started thinking. Meanwhile abhi bhai said.

"Baba! Let's go to near by orphanage and celebrate over there, what say?" I smiled at his idea and nodded my head in agreement. He frowned and said.

"Did you guys arranged some books or not?" We smiled sheepishly and nodded our heads as no.

"How can you guys-? Ughh! If you all planned such things you should prepare right?" Me and abhi showed our puppy eyes. He sighed and got up from his place and said.

"I am going to my library and getting my old collections meanwhile be ready lets go to near by books shop and collect the materials"

"Okayy" saying that we went to our rooms and dressed in our causal clothes, after that we went to books shop and buyed lots of books for kids. After buying books we went to orphanage enjoyed till evening with kids and even had dinner over there, while going we gave books to all the kids, uncle gave his collection to orphanage incharge and instructed him to keep those collections in orphanage library.

Nandini's Pov (Flashback ends):

Manik's Pov:

"He is a great man!" I said with small smile.

"Yes, he is!" She gave me proud smile.

"Let's get back to suite we are roaming from long time"

"Yeah let's go" saying that we went to our suite, i turned to her and said.

"I am feeling sleepy"

"Yeah from morning you are looking tried, so go and have some rest"

"Good night chiquita"

"Good night manik" saying that we went to our respective rooms. I fell on my bed.

"Godd! Why my heart was bleeding seeing her in pain? I don't know what i feel for her, but i can say that i like her" i smiled myself  and drifted into darkness.
