SHOT 12

Parinidhi's pov!

I munched on the cookies anxiously, as I sat on the kitchen island.

"Nidhi, what are you doing? If you keep eating cookies at this rate, you won't be able to eat breakfast and then Bhadra Bua will definitely give you a long lecture on the importance of breakfast.." Priya di warned, as she came to the kitchen and found me munching on the cookies.

I pouted at her and she came and stood near.

"What happened? Why do you look so dull?" Priya di asked softly and I let out a resigned sigh.

"You know, Priya di. All I ever dreamed of was finding my Prince Charming, marrying him and living a lazy life with him. Look at me now, what all I have to do.." I said dramatically and Priya di rolled her eyes.

"Being independent is the most important thing in life, Nidhi. Else, no prince will ever respect you.." Priya di said and I frowned at her.

"Prince charmings definitely respects their lady loves." I said confidently.

"They might love their woman beyond limit, Nidhi. But respect is more important than love in a relationship. You might not understand that now. You live inside a bubble, Nidhi. A happy little bubble. It's time you came out and see the real world and real men. You have to be financially and emotionally independent if you want your Prince Charming to respect you.." Priya di said and I rolled my eyes.

"Oh please.. Let me at least live my fantasy life in my dreams. Reality sucks anyways!" I said, making a face.

"Of course, live your fantasy life and miss your interview today." Priya di said sarcastically and my eyes widened in horror..

"What did you just say?"

"Look at the time, Nidhi. Don't you have to get ready for the interview?" Priya di asked in exasperation and I jumped down from the kitchen island.

"Hey Bhagwan! I am late. Why didn't you tell me already, Priya di? You kept talking and delayed me..." I complained with a huff and dashed to the bedroom leaving the cookie jar with Priya di.

I got ready in a jiffy and was running around the house, getting things ready for work when Bhadra Bua came towards me with a pooja thali in her hand..

She closed her eyes and prayed for me and did my aarti.

"Aww, Bhadra Bua. Are you praying for my interview? How lovely you are." I said and blew a kiss in her direction, making her glare at me.

"Shut up and stay still. This aarti keeps troubles away." Bhadra Bua said and I smiled widely at her.

"Those poor people in the office. They have no idea that the trouble's alternate name is Parinidhi Vyas." Bhadra Bua said and I pouted at her.

Bhadra Bua circled the aarti thali around me and my eyes zeroed in on the three laddoos kept on a plate behind her.

"Why are you looking at the laddoos, Nidhi?" Bhadra Bua asked in a stern tone to which I grinned and picked one and popped it as whole into my mouth.

Bhadra Bua shook her head and turned towards Priya di.

"Priya, you eat one too," she took the laddoo and offered it to Priya di but I snatched it away before Priya di could reach it.

"Priya di, I know you are not a big fan of laddoos. Moreover it's the same right, whether you eat or I do." I said with my mouth full of the two laddoos I popped in.

Swallowing it, I looked at the third one on the plate, only for Bhadra Bua to cover it with her hands.

"I love laddoos." She said sternly and I pouted at her.

"Nobody loves me anymore", I pouted, but it didn't have the desired effect on Bhadra Bua. She didn't give me the cookies.

Hmmm.. Gotta improvise my puppy eyes and pout. They aren't working as well as they did before.

"Nidhi, don't get into any scrapes there, okay? " Priya di whispered in my ears and I glared at her.

"Why Priya di, why? You always say this. You know how calm and good I am. I will manage everything." I said confidently, but she had an apprehensive look on her face.

"What job are you interviewing for?" Bhadra Bua asked and I bit on my nails nervously.

"I forgot, Bua. He mentioned something, but I forgot the post." I said, placing my hands on my head and rolling it, trying to remember what Viraj ji had said.

"Oh goodness! How can you forget, you silly girl." Bhadra Bua bellowed at me.

"Nidhi, you have your interview letter with you, right?" Priya di asked diverting Bhadra Bua's attention

"Yes, Priya di. It's there in my bag. I am getting late. I need to leave now." I said and dashed out of the house, before Bhadra Bua could say anything more.

Five seconds later I came running inside.

"Now what?" Bhadra Bua glared at me and I shot a sheepish smile at her.

"I forgot the bag," I took the bag from the couch and dashed out again, before Bhadra Bua could get to my ears.

I stopped in between for a quick visit at the temple on my way and offered to bring sweets in the evening as a bribe to help me pass the interview today.

Once I stepped into Rey Designs, I looked around the opulent office interior with wide eyed excitement.

"Hey Bhagwan. What a big and beautiful office? And I am going to get a job here? Wow Nidhi. You are so smart. Is it any wonder you are called in for an interview here," I mentally patted myself on my shoulder in self appreciation.

I then focused on the people walking around and my eyes popped out of its socket seeing all the women dressed in expensive and posh western wears. Then I looked at myself and my multicoloured anarkali suit.

'What are you? A f*cking rainbow??' Siddharth Singh Raichand's voice echoed in my head and I shook my head to dispel all the thoughts regarding him.

Why the hell am I even remembering him? He is not worth your time, Nidhi.. I told myself and walked ahead.

One of the workers brushed past me and my jaws grazed the floor seeing the six inch high heels the woman was wearing.

Oh goodness!

Third person's pov!

Nidhi approached a woman on the reception desk, who was touching up her makeup while talking to another one.

"Hello, Miss. I am-" she began only to be cut off by their horrified gasp.

"Which fancy dress competition did you run away from?" One of the two ladies asked, giving her a once over.

"I am never going to forgive you for this fashion disaster you have created for yourself. How could you step foot in Rey Designs, wearing this?" The other lady asked in horror.

"Listen, my name is Parinidhi Vyas. And I came here to attend an interview." Nidhi this time managed to complete her sentence.

"Interview? Are you serious? You really think you are going to get a job here?" The woman asked sarcastically and Nidhi felt her temper rising.

She didn't want to ruin her chance of getting a job. Her family's financial condition was at stake and that was the only reason why Nidhi was patiently listening to the two horrible ladies.

At the same time, Jeevika, who came out of her cabin noticed Parinidhi standing at the reception area. She asked one of the office helps to go and check what was the matter. The help returned immediately and informed Jeevikathat she was there for an interview.

Jeevika immediately sent Parth to deal with it and made sure to let him know that Nidhi shouldn't know that the company belongs to them.

Parth, who found this as the best chance to get to know about Priyadarshini, took it gleefully.

"Parinidhi," Parth called out and she turned around when she heard the familiar voice and smiled in relief.

"Oh Mr Raichand. What a surprise. Do you work here?" Nidhi asked excitedly.

"Yes. I heard you are here for an interview. And call me Parth." Parth said, taking Nidhi aside.

"Ah yes. I forgot what the post was. I got the interview call through an employment agency." Nidhi said and searched for the interview letter in her bag.

"Don't worry about the interview letter. I will handle it." Parth said as he walked towards his cabin with Nidhi following him, chattering continuously.

"I am so relieved to see you here, Parth ji. What would I have done without your help? Those ladies were ready to kill me.." Nidhi complained with a pout.

"Don't mind them. So, your work would be.." Parth began to speak, but Nidhi intervened.

"What about the interview? You didn't interview me, Parth ji?" Nidhi asked and Parth rubbed his temples, thinking how to handle it.

So, he held a rough interview, asking her some common and simple questions.

"So, you are appointed as an errand girl here, Parinidhi. Your work would be to make everyone else's work here easy." Parth said.

"Alright! I will be working under whom?" Nidhi asked curiously.

"You will be working with almost everyone, Nidhi. But you will be reporting directly to the HR team lead, Bhavna Chavan." Parth said.

"Bhavna Chavan?"
