EPILOGUE
Five years later, the Raichand household was filled with laughter and the sound of tiny, tinkling bells. Sid and Nidhi's life had blossomed beautifully, and their two-year-old daughter, Shivanya, had become the apple of everyone's eye.
It was a bright Sunday morning, and they were in Sid's farmhouse in the outskirts of Mumbai. Sid was in the living room, reading the newspaper, while Nidhi was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. Shivanya, with her curly hair bouncing and her eyes twinkling with mischief, was busy exploring the house, her silver anklets jingling with every step.
"Shivanya, come here and have your breakfast!" Nidhi called from the kitchen, a smile on her lips.
But Shivanya had other plans. She giggled and ran in the opposite direction, her tiny feet pattering on the floor, the bells on her anklets creating a cheerful melody. She made her way to the living room, where Sid was sitting.
"Papa, catch me!" She squealed, jumping onto the couch beside Sid.
Sid put down his newspaper and scooped her up into his arms.
"Got you, my little troublemaker!" He said, planting a kiss on her cheek.
"Papa, let me go! I run!" Shivanya wriggled in his arms, laughing uncontrollably.
"Siddarth ji, you're not helping. She needs to eat her breakfast." Nidhi appeared in the doorway, hands on her hips.
"But she's having so much fun, Nidhi. Can't you see how happy she is?" Sid grinned, still holding Shivanya.
Nidhi rolled her eyes, though she couldn't hide her smile.
"Yes, I can see that. But she needs to eat to keep that energy up. Shivanya, come here right now."
Shivanya pouted and looked at her father with big, pleading eyes.
"Papa, save me," she whispered conspiratorially.
"Shivanya, let's go have breakfast. Mommy's right. You need to eat."
He set her down, and she reluctantly walked over to Nidhi, who picked her up and carried her to the dining table.
"You are too soft on her, Siddarth ji," Nidhi said, shaking her head.
"What can I say? She's got me wrapped around her little finger." Sid shrugged, a twinkle in his eye.
As Nidhi tried to feed Shivanya, the little girl kept turning her head away, making a mess of her food.
"Shivanya, please," Nidhi said, trying to keep her patience. "You need to eat your breakfast."
"No, Momma! Playtime!" Shivanya giggled and clapped her hands, sending pieces of toast flying.
"You're impossible sometimes, you know that?" Nidhi sighed, wiping the crumbs off her dress.
Sid watched the scene with amusement, his heart swelling with love for his girls.
"Here, let me try," he said, coming over and taking the plate from Nidhi's hand.
"Here comes the aeroplane, Shivanya! Open wide!" He made funny faces at Shivanya, pretending the spoon was an aeroplane.
Shivanya giggled and finally opened her mouth, allowing Sid to feed her. Nidhi watched in amazement.
"How do you do that?" she asked, half-annoyed, half-amused.
"It's a secret, my love. Just a special daddy trick." Sid winked at her.
After breakfast, Shivanya was off on another adventure, this time heading towards the garden.
"Watch her, Siddarth ji," Nidhi called out. "She'll get into trouble if you don't."
Sid nodded and followed his daughter outside. Shivanya was already trying to climb a small tree, her eyes filled with determination.
"Shivanya, be careful," Sid said, staying close to her.
"Papa, I touch sky!" Shivanya declared, her tiny hands gripping the tree trunk.
"You'll touch the sky one day, my princess. But for now, let's stay safe on the ground, okay?" Sid chuckled.
Shivanya pouted but eventually agreed, her adventurous spirit undeterred. Sid picked her up and swung her around, her laughter echoing through the garden. Nidhi watched them from the kitchen window, her heart melting at the sight. Despite the chaos, she wouldn't trade her life for anything in the world.
As the day went on, Shivanya continued to keep everyone on their toes. She painted on the walls with her crayons, played hide and seek with an intensity that had everyone searching for her for ages, and even managed to sneak some cookies from the jar when she thought no one was looking.
Nidhi, exhausted but happy, finally caught up with her in the living room.
"Shivanya Raichand, you are a handful," she said, scooping her up and sitting on the couch.
"I wuv you, Momma." Shivanya giggled, wrapping her arms around Nidhi's neck.
Nidhi's annoyance melted away instantly.
"I love you too, sweetheart," she said, kissing her daughter's forehead. "But you need to listen to me sometimes, okay?"
Shivanya nodded, though Nidhi knew it was a promise she might not keep. Still, she wouldn't have it any other way. Her daughter's spirit and energy were infectious, a constant reminder of the love and joy in their lives.
As the evening approached, Sid and Nidhi finally managed to get Shivanya to settle down with a book. They sat on either side of her, reading her favourite story and enjoying the quiet moment.
As Shivanya's eyelids drooped and she finally fell asleep, Nidhi breathed a sigh of relief.
"Finally, she is asleep," she whispered, gently closing the book. Sid smiled, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Yes... and now it's time for some much-needed romance, my wifey," he said, carefully shifting baby Shivanya to her baby cot.
Nidhi looked at Sid, her eyes filled with a mix of exhaustion and adoration.
"Siddarth ji, we have had such a long day," she started, but Sid silenced her with a soft kiss.
"Exactly why we need this," he murmured against her lips.
Sid turned to Nidhi, his eyes filled with love.
"You are an incredible mother, Nidhi," he said, pulling her into his arms. "But tonight, I want to remind you how much I love you as my wife."
Nidhi blushed, her heart racing as Sid's hands traced gentle patterns on her back.
"Siddarth ji, you are making me blush," she said, playfully swatting his chest. Sid chuckled, leaning in to nuzzle her neck.
"That's the plan," he whispered, his breath warm against her skin.
He guided her to the bed, sitting down and pulling her onto his lap. "Do you remember our early days together?" he asked softly. "How we used to steal moments just like this?"
Nidhi smiled, memories flooding back. "Yes, I remember. It feels like a lifetime ago."
Sid cupped her face in his hands, his thumbs gently caressing her cheeks. "But some things never change," he said, his voice husky. "Like how beautiful you are... and how much I love you."
"I love you too, Nidhi. More than words can say."
They lost themselves in each other, rediscovering the passion and connection that had brought them together in the first place. Their love was deeper now, enriched by the life they had built and the challenges they had overcome.
As the night wore on, they held each other close, their hearts beating in perfect sync. They knew that no matter what the future held, they would always have these moments- moments of pure, unadulterated love.
