Under The Weather- Part 2
The soft turn of a page beckoned Kira to come out of her deep sleep. It took her a long while to open her eyes and even more to adjust to the bright surroundings. She was aware of a cool cloth on her forehead while her body was tightly wrapped like a sushi in a pile of blankets.
Her gaze fell upon her handsome boyfriend; his glasses balanced on the tip of his nose as he intently read a book in hand. A goofy smile spread on her lips and she cleared her throat. He looked up at her and instead of flashing a gorgeous smile, he glared at her. This guy and his mood swings.
His look was not intense like the night before, it dimmed down to look more like he was simply putting up a show.
"You're awake." Wow, Kira thought. Not even a good morning.
"I didn't know you had glasses." She tried a smile.
"Reading."
"I didn't know you could read." Giggles erupted from her lips. The medicine was getting her high.
"I would really advice against making a joke on me now." He frowned deeper. Geez, this boy is NOT fun when he's sulky.
"Okay, let's get things straight. Why are you angry?"
"Why am I angry?" He scoffed as if the answer was so evident. "What was the one thing I asked you to do?"
"Watch some boring documentary?" Kira crinkled her forehead as she thought hard.
"No, you dimwit. I asked you to take care of yourself."
Oh.
"Now explain to me how sitting like dumb potato in a thunderstorm adds up to that."
"In my defence, it was a compulsory punishment and I didn't want to look like an idiot. I am not a coward." Kira huffed.
"Congratulations! You've successfully established that you're both." He said sarcastically.
"Hey!" she tried protesting but the cocoon held her down and she squirmed to get out of it in vain.
"And now, I am left with no choice but to take care of your sorry ass." He finished dramatically. She hated to admit it but that kind of stung.
"I am sure Jin and Hoseok can help me. I'll gladly go home."
"Uh-huh? How exactly are they going to help you all the way from Singapore?"
"They left for Singapore without me?!" Those brats, Kira thought fumingly.
Taehyung seemed triumphant as if he reasoned a major a scientific theory.
"That's okay. Namjoon would be more than happy to look after me, if not him then Jiminie." Kira nodded enthusiastically.
He paused, not having thought this through entirely. After a while, he shook his head vigorously.
"Why not? I thought you were 'forced' to take care of me." She imitated him. "I am relieving you of that burden."
"I-uh..." He began fumbling for words. His facade was crumbling faster than a loose pack of biscuits. A smug smile was evident on Kira's face.
"The porridge is ready!" He yelled and scurried out of the room. Finally, he's back to being himself.
He entered back with a tray of bowls in his hands. He helped her up from the blanket trap and took a spoonful of hot porridge.
"Say aah." He sang as Kira reluctantly opened her mouth.
"Ugh." She said involuntarily as soon as the tastelessness dissolved in her mouth.
"What's wrong?" he asked, trying out a little himself.
"I don't like porridges. Also, I am not a baby. I can eat on my own, Taehyung." She said sheepishly. That didn't stop him from feeding it to her anyway.

Kira lay on the bed, fidgeting with the hem of the blanket. Taehyung had not left her side all day with the exception of getting food and medicine for her. They had played scrabbles, a variety of other made-up games and slurped on spicy soups, all with the purpose of not letting her out of the bed.
She shut her eyes close, the fever taking over her body within seconds. She didn't even realise that the water had stopped hitting the tiled floor until a seemingly cool palm touched her forehead. Her eyes fluttered open at the sudden contact and it took her a while to comprehend the sight before her.
Taehyung was leaning over her with a towel wrapped around his waist, leaving his bare torso out on show. His messy hair was dripping wet, a few tiny drops falling onto her face as he frowned down at her.
"Your fever hasn't gone down much." He sighed in frustration.
All the while, Kira struggled not to stare at his body, forcing her eyes to stay on his face. Her suspicion of him doing it on purpose proved right as he had the audacity to smirk. She huffed and looked away as he started chuckling uncontrollably.
"I can change here if you want." He said, struggling to get his words in between his fit of laughter.
"Go away!" Yelled Kira as she buried her head into the pillow.
"I am offended that you haven't played videogames with me." Taehyung said, settling onto the bed fully clothed. Kira cursed her mind for being a tiny bit disappointed.
"Then let's play now!" She suggested, her eyes twinkling at the thought of finally getting out of the bed. There was a huge difference between wanting to stay in bed and being forced to do so.
"But you're sick. It won't be a fair match. Besides, I would win even if you were fully healthy." He muttered the last part under his breath but she heard it nevertheless.
"Oh, game on." Kira seethed as she jumped out of the bed before he could say anything.
They were seated on the couch, a gaming console held steady in both their hands. The screen started counting down and it was only a matter of seconds before they were aggressively jabbing at the keys. Suddenly, the fever that had restrained her the whole day ran away as she got engrossed in firing the targets. Kira was merciless; Taehyung was a hard opponent but compared to Jungkook, he was manageable.
The screen glorified her victory and she smirked devilishly at a furious Taehyung. Upon his 'request', they played again until Kira had won multiple times.
He yelled in frustration and she giggled at his competitive side.
"Aw, you want to play an easier game? Maybe you can raise your self esteem in Mario Kart. I'll go easy on you." She teased him which infuriated him more.
Kira won the first round and she stifled her laughter, overjoyed in succeeding to irritate him. Taehyung's face was turning incomprehensible, his eyes burning with fury. He threw the console away and refused to meet her eyes claiming that it was just his unlucky day. She decided to go lenient on him and forced him to play again. This time, she let her hands slip purposefully as he won in the last minute.
He jumped up in excitement and danced around the room, eliciting laughter from Kira. He sat next to her, panting to catch his breath. They decided to binge-watch a sappy show and got lost in the whirlwind of its drama.
"Minjee, you lost purposefully didn't you?" He asked, not taking his eyes off of the screen.
Kira stiffened at being called out, trying to come up with excuses.
Her eyes widened and she dramatically said "what?! No!!!"
"You're so cute that I would kiss you right now. Too bad you're sick." He snickered.
And there he went again, swaying her with his charming magic.
A/N: Is it a coincidence that I am sick at the moment too? 😏 Now, if I can get my own Taehyung, I'll be on my way. Thank you very much.
