The Accident
There was a cold breeze and snow crunched under her heavy boots. She stuck her hands deep into her pockets to keep them warm. Her footsteps suddenly stopping in its track as she triumphantly smiled at her own clever question. Taehyung had pulled Kira out of the cosiness of the resort with the promise of food and they both walked, feet sinking on the snow. He suggested a game where they ask each other questions, for which they must answer truthfully.
A lot of both their secrets had been spilled and by now, it was a just a competition to see who would expose the other more.
"Have you ever, at least drunkenly, slept with Jungkook?" She asked, smirking. His reaction wasn't strong as she'd hoped it would be but watching his tall frame stiffen in surprise did make her smile.
What she didn't expect was him to smirk back and say "Yup. Twice, actually." Kira's hopes of seeing a blushing, stuttering Taehyung backfired completely. His absolute confidence turned her cheeks flush instead. Taehyung laughed at her face, completely enjoying her change of expressions.
"The first time we did it; we were both drunk beyond our minds and remembered absolutely nothing. If I remember right, there were women too. But the second time, we weren't too drunk. We knew what we were doing then but we didn't bother caring about it much."
Kira was sure her ears were as red by this point too. "Why not date him?"
"He doesn't exactly like relationships; neither did I for that matter." His laughter ringing in her ears as he pinched her cheeks. Kira thought she was reading into the lines too much, but the past tense in his case seemed a little suggestive.
Kira kept quiet, unsure of what to say.
"So, tell me, Minjee. Have you slept with Jin?"
Kira gasped out of reflex, unable to even imagine it. She should have known that her question was going to come back and stab her in the back. "No way!" She shrieked.
"Oh come on! Not even a drunken fling?" He chuckled.
"Nope. Na-uh. I've never slept with Seokjin. I swear." Kira protested.
Taehyung was not convinced with her answer. "You've lived with two guy best friends your whole life. It's hard to believe that people as close as you have never had an accidental night."
Kira kept quiet at that statement. Her already red cheeks blushed even more furiously.
"Wait a minute. Hoseok?" He probed.
Dammit.
Kira took a deep breath before nodding unwillingly.
-
Kira sat by the corner, having resolved to drown her misery in alcohol. The whole house was filled with drunkenly dancing people. A bright board in the centre read 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM SEOKJIN' and sure enough, he was dancing contently with a bright pink feather boa hanging loosely around his neck. At least, he was having fun.
It had been a year since she broke up with Namjoon and as much as she hated admitting it, she wasn't completely over him. Literally everyone around her had tried setting her up on blind dates but to no avail; she was comfortable being miserable. Finally, not able to withstand Jin's persistence, she had gone on a blind date the day before. As expected, she completely zoned out of it and ended up embarrassing herself.
She was sick of it all and felt happy as the liquid burned through her.
"Whoa whoa, easy there tiger." Hoseok said taking the glass away from her. She protested and yanked the glass back.
"I am assuming the date didn't go well?"
Kira shook her head. Hoseok nodded understandingly. He tried talking to her, trying to cheer her up but she insisted on torturing her body with liquid instead. He finally gave up, taking a glass for himself. "Now I am going get drunk and try to steal that boa off of Jin."
Kira didn't know how long it had been; neither did she have count of the number of empty glasses on the table. True to his words, Hoseok was fairly drunk, the pink boa adorning his shoulders. He was dancing to the rhythm of the beat and Kira noticed a few people staring at him.
She couldn't blame them. His moves were graceful, and always matched the beat. Bones didn't seem to be a problem for him; he flowed like water to the current of the music. His days of being a hip-hop dance team member were vividly being projected again. Kira couldn't help but stare at him along with the others.
Was he always this hot? Her drunken mind wondered in awe. She knew he was handsome but the way she looked at him now... she felt as if she was seeing him through someone else's eyes for the first time. He looked like someone else, not her sunshine Hobi.
He caught her staring at him and an effortless smile played on his lips. There were women trying to get close to him with their moves but he beckoned her come and join him.
She could feel the nagging effect of intoxication in her body as she slightly stumbled her way towards him. He smiled brightly at her, taking hold of her hand before she got lost in the mob of people. He was a born natural at dancing and he made her feel like she was good at it too. He led her easily across the dance floor, adjusting his body to hers.
The songs went on playing and their giggles grew more unconscious. They didn't know how long it had been before they were practically clinging to each other; his arms around her hips and hers around his neck. They both looked at each other, breathing heavily from the moves. His cheeks were flushed red, an effect of both alcohol and dancing. His eyes, managed to focus on hers and she noticed his slightly dilated pupils.
It wasn't much long before his lips crashed onto hers with a crushing force. He seemed to devour her lips, hers equally hungry. Soon enough, her legs were wrapped around his waist as he carried her, stumbling into an empty bedroom. They parted periodically, only to gasp for air.
Kira's head hit the mattress and her already blurry mind seemed to focus less. Her dress was ripped off of her and she didn't even know when. Hoseok hovered over her, his white flimsy shirt sticking to his taunt body. His eyes seemed unfocused but he dipped down, his lips touching her neck.
-
Taehyung chuckled at the way Kira stuttered through her words. He looked at her, more intently. "You're hiding something." He concluded.
"I am not!" Kira noticed how her voice was a few octaves higher than normal.
"Yes you are, Minjee. You can barely make eye contact with me."
Dammit, when was she such an open book and how did he learn to read it?
Kira fidgeted with hem of her collar.
-
Ow. Was all she could think of. Kira groaned as groggily woke up from her deep sleep. Almost all her body parts hurt, her head leading the battalion. She scanned the foreign room. She was aware of a body to her left but she dared not to look at the person. This is why she hated getting drunk; her sensibility went on vacation when it happened.
She was glad to know that she was only partially naked; her innerwears were still intact. Thank goodness for that. Her arms ached badly and she pulled her right arm in an attempt to get up but for some reason, it was stuck. She tugged harder and she heard the light clang of metal. She dreadfully looked up to find a pair of handcuffs; one around her wrist and the other fastened tightly to the bedpost.
What the actual fuck?
She lifted her left hand and it seemed unnaturally heavy. Her left hand was handcuffed too but this time to the right wrist of the person lying next to her. By this point, Kira's brain was kick-starting itself.
One of the worst parts of her getting drunk was that she remembered almost everything that happened. Dread filled her chest and unwillingly she turned to look the person sleeping peacefully next to her. The fiery red of temporary hair colour caught her attention and she swore furiously at the familiar face.
Images of the night before prodded her mind and her headache got worse. She remembered most of it but her mind seemed to have dozed off on the worst part, particularly for the one with the cuffs. She has had horrible experiences but none seemed to cross this limit.
"Hoseok." She whispered. He remained still.
"Hoseok, wake up." She said more loudly. He stirred in his sleep.
"Hoseok, you have to wake up before we get in trouble."
His eyes slowly fluttered open, unaware of his surroundings. He smiled gently at Kira's face and brushed his hair back with his left palm. Kira was joyous and furious at the same time to know that it was free of shackles.
He blinked, getting more conscious about the circumstances. When realisation hit him, he screamed, panic evident on his face. He was clearly freaking out.
"Hoseok, please, you have to calm down."
That didn't help at all; he tried putting his hands to his face, yanking Kira along with it. A few minutes of panic later, he cooled down a little.
"Hobi, you have to find the keys. Please tell me you can see them."
He looked around and sure enough, there were two small keys on his bed stand. He hastily unlocked their linked hands and struggled to unlock the other with his eyes shut tight.
"Hobi, you've seen more than what's necessary yesterday. I think its fine to open your eyes and unlock the goddamn thing." She said through gritted teeth. Kira regretted seeing this- other side of her best friend.
He didn't talk to her for a month after that. Heck, he wouldn't even meet her eyes until after a week. It took her a lot of time to convince him to act normal. It didn't help when Jin frequently pulled them out to 'patch up the fight' between them. One great mystery still remained; to this day neither of them knew where the cuffs came from in a birthday party.
A/N: I understand if you need Holy Water, don't worry, I've got your back.
P.S: SINGULARITY IS OUT AND OH GOD, I DON'T THINK I CAN EVER CALM DOWN.
