Second Date
"Minjee-yah, thank you so much." Cherry hugged the life out of Kira.
"I am glad you're happy." Kira smiled, playfully pulling her cheeks which caused it to turn red.
"Seriously though, how did you do it?"
"Let's just say I pulled some strings here and there. They won't hurt you again. I Promise." She smiled.
Kira's phone rang and she read the screen: Kim Taehyung.
"I have to take this." She said and Cherry nodded, walking over to talk to Hoseok.
"Hello?"
"Hey, are you free tomorrow night?" He asked. Well, that was straightforward.
"I am. But no fancy restaurants. I get to choose the place."
"Fine by me. Where do you want to go?"
Just then, a flyer caught Kira's attention. A fair.... interesting.

"You're late." Taehyung said, sulking.
He wore a comfortable gray hoodie with a normal looking pair of jeans. Kira sighed in relief. She had half expected him to come like a Gucci model for tux but thankfully, he looked normal.
"By barely five minutes." She pointed out.
"That's still late." He said, walking over to the ticket counter.
The fair had all its normal features of being, well, a fair. Delicious food stalls, excited kids, vibrant coloured games, fancy toys and the best of all: a Ferris wheel.
"I've never been to a fair before." Taehyung said, walking beside Kira.
"Never? That's a bummer. They are so fun!"
"I can see that. Too bad I didn't bring Jungkook. He would have liked it."
"The fair is going to last for another week. You can still bring him." Kira smiled.
Taehyung looked like a wonder-struck child. He gawked at different rides and pointed them out to Kira excitedly. It was adorable. Like this, it was hard to see him as an arrogant CEO.
"Oooh! Look at that!!" He exclaimed.
"For the hundredth time, Taehyung, I have already seen it." Kira sighed.
"Can we go on that?" He asked pointing at a carousel.
She agreed and they sat on the small wooden horses. The machine started moving and slowly, it started galloping. Taehyung's expression was of pure joy. It was too cute that Kira couldn't help snapping a few pictures.
"This is so fun!" He yelled over the wind. She simply giggled at his innocence.
He pleaded to go again, and again, and again until Kira's head started spinning. They walked around for a while, genuinely having a good time.
"That baby is so cute. Is it alright if I pick him up?" Taehyung said, showing faces at an adorable baby boy.
"I don't think you can do that." Kira said, slowly pulling him away as the child's mother looked oddly at them.
"Ferris wheel! Can we go on it?!" Kira asked excitedly.
Taehyung glanced at the huge machine and gulped. "I don't think so. I don't like heights."
"More like you're scared of heights." Kira teased.
"Of course not! I just hate it." Taehyung defended.
Kira pouted. Soon, she had an idea. "How about a challenge?"
"What challenge?" Taehyung asked sceptically.
"We'll have a fish-stick eating competition. If I win, we go on the wheel but if you do I'll get rid of the plan."
Taehyung smirked devilishly. "A food challenge? Against me? You're not that wise. I mean, look at you. You'e barely half my size."
Kira shrugged. It was always cute to see guys underestimate her capacity. They started eating. Taehyung looked like he already won as he lavishly took a bite.
Within minutes, his expression changed. Kira was practically sniffing the food while Taehyung looked like his eyes would fall out from his socket. Five minutes, that was their time limit.
She easily bit her thirtieth stick while Taehyung struggled desperately with his twenty-third.
"Times up! I win!" Kira smiled brightly. She rushed towards the wheel excitedly and waited for her turn to come. Taehyung pulled his hood over and stood hunching next to her.
They got onto the seat and slowly, the wheel started taking them up. A gentle breeze blew their way and it fired Kira's excitement. The first round was always the slowest. They reached the highest part and she looked over at the breathtaking view.
Beside her, Taehyung was still. She looked at him and she could feel him clenching his whole body. His eyes were shut tight.
"Are you okay?" Kira was a little concerned. He shook his head. Kira couldn't help but smile at a little at his posture. "You can hold my hand." She said.
He took her hand and she felt like her bones would crumble. He gripped it like his life depended on it. "Ouch." She muttered. The wheel started descending and he slowly loosened his grip.
The next round had a little more speed. His eyes were still shut.
"Alright, you need to calm down." Kira said. "Why don't you start by taking a few breaths?" She suggested. He obeyed her. "Slowly, open your eyes. Trust me, it's beautiful."
He was hesitant at first but he did as hewas told. And slowly, he started to loosen up. "See, it's not that bad." She said. He still gripped her hand firmly.
The wheel started gaining momentum and with each round, it picked up speed. Taehyung started appreciating the beauty of it. He smiled and even pointed out a few sights to her.
"Let's take a picture." He said abruptly. Kira agreed and took out her phone. The picture became a little blurred as her arms flailed helplessly in the quick movement.
"Let me." He said and grabbed the phone from her. He put an arm over her shoulder and pulled her close. Surprisingly, the picture came out well. As for his hand, it remained tightly wrapped around her for the rest of the ride.
"Now that's what I call awesome." Kira said, walking out of the tiny cabin. Taehyung nodded and took off running without a warning.
'This is awkward.' Kira thought. She was used to people running away from her but she never thought they'd do it quiet literally.
He came back, panting after a few minutes. "Fish sticks and heights don't go together." He said. Kira giggled.
They decided to stop by a 'Hit the target' stall. "Which one of those do you want?" He asked pointing at a huge collection of plushies.
"I am not a huge fan of it really but I guess the blue one?" Kira said.
Taehyung took the gun and confidently aimed at the target. His dart went nowhere near the plushy. He took six turns and finally won a tiny heart keychain. Kira burst out laughing as Taehyung scowled.
"My turn." Kira said, confidently taking the gun. She missed her first shot and Taehyung smirked. On her second shot, she got the big blue teddy. Taehyung's jaw dropped.
"It's totally rigged." Taehyung said, still scowling over his loss.
"Sure it is." Kira laughed. "You know what? You can have this." Kira said handing him the huge plushy.
"Why would I want a huge teddy?" He asked.
"Because it's a gift." Kira smiled and handed it to him. He kept scowling but he hugged the teddy tight.
"You must have this then." He said, handing her the tiny keychain. "Fair enough." She said, taking it.

"I had a good time." Taehyung said as they stood outside her apartment.
"I did too." Kira smiled. Genuinely surprised that she had fun with someone like him. "You're so much better when you're not unconscious with intoxication." She muttered.
He looked at her and she could catch a glimpse of guilt in his eyes but he pretended not to hear her. "Care for another one?" He winked.
"I wouldn't push it that far."
They bid farewell and she stood there, watching him walk away with a huge teddy bear in his arms. She smiled to herself.
A/N: I had fun writing this chapter. ❤️️ Adorable Tae ftw! I usually write drafts ahead of time and it takes me a while to register that I wrote these too lol. Trust me, I'll try writing better. :)
