Curfew

The only thing she could focus on was the rhythmic movement of her legs hitting the pavement. Her whole body boiled with anger and she just gave into where her legs were taking her. She had a fight with Jin, what started out as a tiny argument went overboard, resulting in Kira stomping out of her own house.

The fight was so silly that she didn't even remember what caused it, but her stubborn self was not willing to stoop down to an agreement. And so she walked, her eyes trained on the floor. It was late dawn and the skies were already transitioning from deep blue to pitch black.

She looked around the neighbourhood and unfamiliarity settled in. She looked around and it seemed like a posh residential area with not much hotels in visibility. Not that it would be of any help because she was penny-less. She had stormed out of the place with absolutely nothing in her hands.

Kira zipped the grey hoodie to her neck as she shivered lightly. It was cold, snow still littered the place and it had lost all its Christmas charm. She didn't want to go home because that would mean admitting defeat and she did know a certain house in this neighbourhood. She debated for a while, contemplating on all the possible ways it would seem awkward to stay the night at Taehyung's place.

Not able to withstand the cold any further, she hesitantly walked towards the huge house. She stood in front of it, gathering courage before finally hitting the doorbell. The house remained silent for a long while and dread began to settle in. When she finally decided to turn around, she heard the door fly open.

Jungkook stood by the door giving her a questioning glance. "Minjee?"

Kira explained her silly situation and he chuckled before letting her in. Her eyes wandered around the huge place, expecting to find another face.

Jungkook seemed to read her mind. "Taehyung isn't here, he uh went out." Kira nodded. It was a Saturday night and Kira didn't question where he went. Jungkook led her up to the second floor of the house. A few rooms were scattered around the place; he pointed to one as Taehyung's and the other as the guest room.

Kira walked into the vacant guest room and sat on the big bed. The bed sheet seemed cold, suggesting that it was unused in a while. The room was practically empty with the exception of a few blank cupboards. She checked her pockets frantically, relief flooding over as she took out the phone. She scrolled through it idly and soon, she yawned in exhaustion.

Standing up from the bed, she hesitantly walked towards Taehyung's room. She swung it open and quietly crept inside. It was much more crowded than the guest room. Unwanted artefacts were scattered all over the place and his huge closet was hard to miss. No wonder why this guy dressed like a model, he was a fashion freak.

Kira sat on the bed and the soft mattress beckoned her to lay on them. The moment her face hit the soft pillow, her eyes found themselves hard to remain open. The bed smelled of him. Kira didn't realize how distinct his smell was until she drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

Kira's eyes flew open, like a deer quirking up at the sight of a predator. She was facing the wall and unfamiliar walls surrounded her. A hand lay on her waist and her disoriented sleepy mind was full on panic mode. Instinctively, her elbow collided with the ribs of what she hoped would be a human.

A loud groan escaped the mouth of the person. That jostled her back into reality. She was in Taehyung's house, she was in his room. Guilt flooded her as she turned to see a writhing Taehyung. He was clutching his upper abdomen as he groaned again.

Kira bit her lips and her forehead crinkled in worry. "I am so sorry!"

"Goddmmit, woman! You've started assaulting me on my own bed now." He grunted.

"I am so sorry!" Was all Kira could say as she watched him apologetically.

By this point, Taehyung was mostly just being extra. "Get out of my bed."

"Okay." Kira said awkwardly as she sat up on the bed, ready to leave.

To her surprise, he pulled her by the sleeve and snuggled her close. "Right. Now you stopped protesting."

"But, you asked me to-" Kira started, confused.

"I changed my mind." He cut her off.

Kira simply giggled as she threw an arm around his chest. This time, she registered the scent; holding him close as it soothed her back to sleep. It's nice, she thought. Being held by someone gently is nice.

'Why is it morning so early?' Kira thought as she rubbed her eyes. The comfortable presence she had fallen asleep to yesterday was nowhere to be seen. She staggered towards the bathroom and freshened herself up.

Downstairs, Jungkook and Taehyung sat with a toast each in their mouth. "Good morning!" Jungkook greeted her cheerfully and she nodded back drowsily. As if it's her own house, she walked right towards the coffee maker.

She took a sip of coffee, smiled at the men and wished them cheerfully. Taehyung chuckled at her change of demeanour and urged her to try the egg. She was eating contently when Jungkook frowned at his phone.

"It says there's a curfew for ten hours in the city." He read through the article and concluded that the snow has increased unexpectedly. Kira yanked the curtain aside and sure enough, the snow had piled up much more than before.

"So, I am stuck in here?"Kira groaned. She didn't expect it to come out as rude because both Taehyung and Jungkook looked at her oddly.

Taehyung fidgeted with his coffee mug next to her and clumsily spilled some on Kira.

"Now I am locked up and I don't have clean clothes!" Kira exclaimed unhappily.

Taehyung's dove eyes widened and he awkwardly stood there not knowing what to do. Jungkook decided to speak up. "We're not that bad of a company and I am pretty sure you can find clothes in the lost and found."

It took a moment for Kira to realise that he wasn't joking. "You guys literally have a 'lost and found' corner in your house? Should I be afraid of dead bodies falling out the closets too?"

They all laughed at the joke until Jungkook said "Nah, we would never hide bodies in the house, we always burn them when we're done with it." Kira gulped.

Taehyung explained how they sometimes had clothes left over by their 'guests' and he excitedly pulled her into a room as he revealed a closet full of clothes. At least it seemed like clothes but barely retained the purpose of one.

"These are basically just strings! Why do people even bother wearing these?"

"You see, that's the beauty of it." He winked. Kira suppressed her urge to puke.

When she finally pulled out a decent blouse, an unpleasant stench infiltrated their nostrils. She hastily put it away. Taehyung finally went into his own room and handed her one of his t-shirts.

She slipped off the now sticky wet hoodie and put his cloth on. It easily turned into oversized for her. What usually fit a tall broad person now hung loosely around Kira's small frame. On the front it said 'Don't Talk to me, I am introverting' in bright comic letters. "I am definitely stealing this." She declared and Taehyung snorted.

The day turned out much better than Kira expected it to. They ended up binge watching a whole show with plenty of food the whole day. Their laughs always proved infectious and by the end of the day, her cheeks hurt from smiling too much.

"Let's do this more often." Jungkook said, engulfing her in a friendly hug. "I've been numb being with this hyung for so long that I forgot what fun felt like." That earned a severe smack on the back from Taehyung.

When Taehyung dropped her off in her apartment, she felt the soft fabric of the t-shirt in her fingers fondly.

He had let her keep it.
