Bill just finished preparing lunch for himself and his almost eight month old daughter Hope.

It took Bill a little longer than it usually does but he did it!

Now Bill and Hope are almost finished eating, happily enjoying this special one on one time together.

Hope ate most of her lunch but a lot of it got on her face or on the floor. Tally and Maisie are enjoying the second lunch.

Bill smiles at Hope and she smiles back at her Daddy.

"Is it good, Hopey? Hmm? You ate a lot of it! Good girl! Looks like Tally and Maisie got some too." Bill says as he begins to wipes Hope's face off.

Hope babbles loudly and happily as Bill cleans her up.

"Dada!"  Hope says happily.

"Hi, princess! Daddy loves you! You wanna try a little bit of my baked potato? Hmmm?" Bill asks as he kisses Hope after wiping her face.

Hope opens her mouth as Bill feeds her a bite.

"Mmmmm!" Hope babbles with a smile.

"Mmm! That's yummy, huh? You didn't like the tomato soup as much but looks like the baked potato is a hit! Do you want another bite?" Bill asks Hope and Hope nods. 

Bill feeds Hope another bite of his baked potato.

"Ooooo!" Hope says with big eyes.

"I'm going to send this video of you to your Mommy! She's gonna be so happy to see you feeding yourself. Well, trying to!" Bill says as he sends it Hillary on his iPhone, getting a response shortly after

Hillary: I can't wait to be back home with that sweet girl! You two stay safe! ❤️❤️

Bill: We will! Please give Jordan a kiss for us 😉

Hillary: I'll try. Even though he gets annoyed by them sometimes. Haha

"Mommy says love you Hope!" Bill says as he texts Hillary back one more time and smiles at Hope.

"Baaaa!" Hope says with a cheeky grin, showing off the few teeth she has.

"Okay! Let's get all cleaned up and get the kitchen cleaned! And then we can play! How does that sound?" Bill says to Hope and Hope happily giggles and smiles.

"Mama." Hope says while pointing at a picture of her mom and Henry on a table when he was a baby.

"Yeah! That's Mommy and Henry! Henry was around your age here! He was bigger than you!" Bill says as Hope giggles.

Hope sees another picture of Bill and Mia's little sister Mariah.

"Aaa!" Hope yells as she points at the picture.

"That's Daddy and that's Mariah! Mariah was around three here! She's coming over soon to visit! Are you excited to see Mariah?" Bill asks Hope and Hope squeals.

"She's can't wait to see you either, princess!" Bill says with a smile.

Hope smiles big after hearing what her Daddy said.

"I'm gonna get you cleaned up first Hope and then I'll put on an episode of Sesame Street for you to watch while I clean up the kitchen. How does that sound?" Bill asks Hope.

Hope claps her hands and smiles at Bill.

Bill takes Hope upstairs into her nursery to clean her up with some baby wipes and change her diaper.

"Da da!" Hope says with a cheeky smile.

"Hi, Hopey! You are nice and clean now! Pretty girl!" Bill says, kissing Hope's cheeks and causing Hope to giggle.

"Okay, let's go back downstairs!" Bill says as he picks up Hope and holds her close.

"Ba ba!" Hope says pointing at a picture on the wall in the hallway.

"You see the picture of Marc, Chelsea, Henry and Mia? That's from Henry and Mia's wedding! We need an updated picture with you in it!" Bill says as Hope babbles again.

"You love to talk, don't you? Just like your Mommy!" Bill says as she flops her arms

"Aaaaa!" Hope squeals happily.

"I thought so." Bill says happily as he turns on an episode of Sesame Street on the TV in the living room.

Hope happily watches Sesame Street with Big Bird and Mr. Snuffleupagus talking with the adults on the show.

"Who is that, Hopey? Is that Snuffy and Big Bird?" Bill asks Hope as Hope babbles.

Bill sits and watches some of the episodes with Hope before walking over to the kitchen to get it cleaned.

Tally and Maisie sit with Hope, protectively watching her.

20 minutes later

"Maisie! Tally! You two are protective of your sister, aren't you?" Bill asks the dogs as he sits down on the floor with them and Hope and the bark in response.

Hope looks at Bill and points at the TV and sees one of her favorite human characters: Maria!

"That's right, Hopey! Her name is Maria just like Mia and Mariah's mother!" Bill says to Hope happily.

Hope crawls over to Bill, wanting him to pick her up. Hope babbles up at Bill, causing Bill to giggle.

"You wanna be held, Hopey? I'll hold you!" Bill says as he picks up Hope and holds her close.

Bill walks over to the couch and sits down with Hope in his lap. Hope babbles as she plays with Bill's shirt.

"No, Hopey! You can't play with the buttons on Daddy's shirt. Only Mommy can do that!" Bill says playfully to his daughter.

Hope babbles back at her Daddy, pleading her case.

"Look, princess! It's Elmo's World!" Bill says happily as he points at the TV.

Lalalala lalalala Elmo's world! Lalalala lalalala Elmo's world! Elmo loves his goldfish, his crayon too! That's Elmo's World!

Hope happily watches the intro to the show, clapping her hands.

"There's his goldfish!" Bill says as Hope giggles.

"Her name is Dorothy! Just like your Mommy's mommy who would've loved you very much!" Bill says as he kisses Hope on the cheek.

Hope smiles at her Daddy and begins to play with his nose.

"Hope Dorothy Virginia Clinton! Daddy loves you so much, sweet girl! Your Mommy and I may be tired sometimes, but you make it all worth it!" Bill says while holding Hope's left hand, taking it off of his nose.

Hope smiles ear to ear, showing off the few teeth she has.

"Do you want your blankey? It's a little chilly in here now." Bill says as he grabs Hope's favorite little yellow blanket.

Bill covers her up with it and they enjoy the rest of the Sesame Street episode. After it ends, Hope yawns on her Daddy's chest.

"Are you a sleepy, princess? You can take a nap, Hopey. I'm right here." Bill says as he gets them comfortable on the couch.

Hope promptly falls asleep and Bill, tired himself, takes a little nap as well.

2:45 pm

Bill and Hope have been awake since 1:45 and have been spending the afternoon together.

Bill gets a text from Mariah letting him know she's almost there.

Mariah: "Had to make a stop at Walgreens after school. I'm on my way to the house!" ❤️

"Hopey! Mariah is almost here! Are you excited to see her?" Bill says to Hope with a big smile.

"Aaaa ba ba!" Hope squeals as she claps her hands.

Bill calls one of his Secret Service agents to let him know that Mariah Lopez was almost here and to let her in once she pulls up.

Ten minutes later, Mariah pulls up to the gate and is let in. Parking her car, she gets out and walks towards the front of the Clinton House with her backpack, purse and bag from Walgreens in tow.

(Knock knock knock)

"Who is it?" Bill says playfully while Hope's in his arms.

"It's one of your favorite people, Mariah Victoria Lopez!" Mariah says back with sass.

Hope squeals happily as she claps her hands.

Bill happily opens the door and Mariah smiles ear to ear. Mariah is wearing her backpack on her back, is holding a bag and is wearing two masks.

"Aaaaaa!" Hope squeals loudly.

"Hi, Hopey! Hi, Mr. Bill!" Mariah says as she waves at Hope and Bill.

"Hello, Mariah! Come on in!" Bill says as he opens the door and Mariah quickly walks in before Tally and Maisie run over.

"Hi, Maisie and Tally!" Mariah says as she pets both of them.

Bill places Hope on the floor since she wants to crawl around.

After she puts her things down and taking her masks off, Mariah hears baby giggles. Sure enough, it's Hope crawling to her with a smile!

"Hi, princess! I'm so happy to see you!" Mariah says happily as she picks Hope up and gives her a kiss.

"She's been a happy girl most of the day today! Except she was an upset when we couldn't go outside." Bill says as Hope babbles.

"Oh it's awful, Mr. Bill! My eyes feel so dry just walking here!" Mariah says to Bill as she bounces Hope around.

"No kidding! Hillary called earlier to check on us. She's enjoying her time in Spain, but is looking forward to coming home in a couple days!" Bill says with a smile

"Ma Ma!" Hope says as she points at a picture of Hillary holding Mariah when she was a baby.

"That's right! I was one month old when I met your Mommy and Daddy for the first time! Nothing but love. And now they get to love on you!" Mariah says happily as she taps Hope's nose.

Hope giggles and smiles at Mariah.

"Mia and Henry both really miss coming over to see Hope and they feel guilty about it. I told them it's okay! Liam can't come out in this, he's just a little baby, he's not even three months old. He can't be breathing in this and going outside at all." Bill says and Mariah nods in agreement.

"I saw them yesterday with my mom for a quick visit. But they have mainly been staying inside, minus Henry taking their dogs out." Mariah says as Hope hugs her.

"That brown lab they got from the shelter last month looks just like Buddy!" Bill says reminiscing on his White House lab he had.

"Henry wanted to name him Buddy the second but Mia said no way and his name is Teddy as of today. Let's see if that stays. So now we have Teddy and Archer. Why Henry even name the other dog Archer?" Mariah asks Bill curiously.

"Because some adult cartoon! The show was called Archer. Who knows! And how's their cat doing?" Bill asks Mariah.

"Whisker? He's good! He and Teddy are getting along better than he and Archer. Nothing like Socks and Buddy according to Henry." Mariah says with a laugh.

"Oh Socks and Buddy were horrible. Hillary and I always had to stop fights. But thankfully my Secretary took Socks after the White House days and he did well." Bill says to Mariah.

"That sucks. Cats and dogs are enemies sometimes, so that's expected. What can you do?" Mariah says while shrugging her shoulders.

"Yeah, after Buddy died we didn't have any pets until we got Tally and Maisie. By then, Henry got Archer and was living with Mia. These two dogs are spoiled, even more so now that Hope is here! I'm sure they both gained five pounds each!" Bill says, causing Mariah to laugh loudly.

"Whiskers was our family cat but after Mia went to college he missed her so much, so that's why Mia took him in! He's an old man now." Mariah says as she, Hope and Bill all go into the living room, with Tally and Maisie happily following behind.

"What's in the bag?" Bill asks curiously

"Mom's medications, a couple snacks for me, and some Gerber Puff cereal snacks for this little girl! I also got some diapers for Liam and dropped them off at my sister's house before I came here. I bought a small pack for Hope too!" Mariah says as she gets the puffs out and Hope claps her hands.

"Aww, thank you so much! It's always nice to have a stock pile of diapers!" Bill says as he hugs Mariah.

"You're welcome! You know I love to spoil the babies in my life!" Mariah says, hugging Bill back.

"Aaaa aaa!" Hope says, wanting some puffs.

"You want some, Hopey? Let me wash my hands!" Mariah says as she walks over to the bathroom.

After washing her hands and putting some body cream on them, Mariah opens the puffs.

"Open wide, Hope!" Mariah says happily as she holds a puff in her hand

"Aaaaaa!" Hope says happily as Mariah puts one in her mouth.

"Mmm! That's yummy isn't it?" Bill says as he chuckles as he smiles at Hope and Mariah.

Tally and Maisie both walk over, smelling the puffs container. Mariah chuckles at the dogs wanting another snack.

"I'm sure your Dad fed you two girlies!" Mariah says playfully to the dogs.

"I sure did! Are you ready for the school year to be over?" Bill asks Mariah.

"Yes! Getting ready for final exams at this point. You think you can help me with some Algebra 2 problems on my study guide later?" Mariah asks Bill.

"Sure I can. After all, math is my specialty." Bill says with a smile.

"After balancing eleven budgets in a row while you were Governor of Arkansas and even during your time as President, it better be." Mariah says while winking her eye.

"Wait, how did you know that?" Bill asks curiously

"One, google. And two, Al said it in his speech at the 1992 Democratic National Convention that I've watched many times!" Mariah answers back.

"Right! I gotta remember to call him and see how they're doing in Virginia. Probably staying inside today like we are." Bill says

"They have smoke but it doesn't look anything like here!" Mariah says as she feeds Hope another puff.

"Mariah spoils you! She got you your favorite treat and diapers!" Bill says as he rubs Hope's back and Hope smiles.

"Pretty princess!" Mariah says as she tickles Hope, causing Hope to giggle.

Bill's iPhone dings and it's a picture of a selfie Henry and Liam sitting on the couch.

Henry writes: "Someone won't nap so we are watching some old sports games!"

Bill texts back: "Tell Liam that Pop Pop says hello and misses him very much!"

"Look at this picture of Henry and Liam that Henry sent." Bill says, showing the picture to Mariah.

"Aww! They look like twins here!" Mariah says as she smiles at the picture.

"Aaa!" Hope says looking at the picture.

"Yeah! That's your big brother and nephew!" Bill says, kissing Hope's cheek.

"And they love you very much! You, Liam, and Amelia are gonna be little troublemakers!" Mariah says in a babyfied voice as Hope claps her hands.

"Wait a minute..." Bill says while pointing at his daughter.

"What's up?" Mariah asks and picks Hope up, takes a sniff, and realizes the reason why Bill was pointing at his daughter.

"Hope Clinton! You stink!" Mariah says with laughter as she grabs a changing pad, some wipes, and a diaper out the pack she just bought.

"Be careful. She didn't wanna be still this morning and I put her diaper and pants on backwards this morning. Hillary pointed it out to me while I was on FaceTime!" Bill says with a chuckle.

"How the heck did that happen?" Mariah says with a giggle as she lays Hope down and starts to change her.

"Who knows!" Bill says as he pets Tally and Maisie causing both dogs to be happy.

Mariah manages to change Hope quickly and gets her clothes back on.

"All done!" Mariah says, kissing Hope's cheeks.

"That was fast!" Bill says to Mariah with a grin.

"I feel like a pro between Hope, Liam, Amelia and babysitting other babies! Plus one of my friends in school has a toddler so I'm learning how to wrangle older kids now." Mariah says as she and Hope walk over.

"Da da!" Hope says as she smiles seeing her Daddy.

"Hi, baby! Did Mariah get you all cleaned up?" Bill says as Hope babbles.

"I'm your favorite babysitter, right?" Mariah asks Hope with a smile.

"Charlotte, Aidan, and Jasper also love you. You were eight years old when Charlotte was born, almost ten when Aidan was born, and almost thirteen when Jasper was born. Now look at all of you!" Bill says while smiling at Hope and Mariah.

"Plus there's Jordan, Everett, Jude, Leni and Luna! So many kids now!" Mariah says as Hope giggles.

"Giggly girl!" Bill says to Hope as he smiles at her.

"She's finally getting some hair! So fun!" Mariah says as Hope babbles loudly.

"Trying to remember the baby girl hairstyles! It's been while since Charlotte was this age and Amelia is only two months!" Bill says to Mariah and Mariah smiles.

"Hope has plenty of bows thats for sure!" Mariah says with a grin.

"A bunch of bows and pretty outfits for a little princess! Who's also spoiled!" Bill says as Mariah puts Hope down and gets some toys for her to play with.

"While this little one plays with her toys, how about we work on your math study guide? The sooner you do that, the sooner you can enjoy Hope for the rest of the time." Bill says as Mariah goes into her backpack.

"Yes, please!" Mariah says as she gets her math study guide out and hands it to Bill.

"Aaa!" Hope says wanting to look since Mariah's backpack.

"No no, that's my backpack! There's nothing in here for you, princess." Mariah says to Hope and Hope giggles.

"Hopey, do you wanna watch another show?" Bill asks Hope and Hope babbles.

"You get more screen time when Mama isn't home, huh?" Mariah says as Hope claps her hands.

"She does!" Bill says as he smiles at Hope and uses to remote to go to Disney+ and play an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

"Look, Hopey! It's Mickey!" Mariah says as she give Hope a kiss before going to the table

"Aaaaa!" Hope says happily!

Bill and Mariah start to work on her study guide and they solved some problems within an hour. Hope took a nap on the floor during that time and they took advantage of it.

It's now 5:00 pm and Mariah is on the floor with Hope playing with her blocks.

Bill is getting some pretzels and blue cheese dip as a snack for them to share. And sees an adorable sight when he walks back into the living room.

"H-O-P-E. What's that spell? Hope!" Mariah says happily as she put the letter blocks down one by one.

Hope claps her hands.

"You have two middle names, I don't think you have enough blocks!" Mariah says as Hope smiles.

"I got a snack!" Bill says as he puts the tray of pretzels and blue cheese dip on the living room table.

"Thanks, Mr. Bill!" Mariah says as she dips a pretzel into the blue cheese and eats it.

"Ba ba!" Hope says looking at the pretzels and blue cheese.

"No, baby. You can't have pretzels just yet." Bill says to Hope.

"Babies eat so many snacks!" Mariah says as she chuckles.

"They do! Chels and Henry were the same way! It's just what they do, their stomachs are so small still." Bill says as Hope babbles.

Hillary FaceTime's Bill's phone and Bill quickly answers the call.

"Hi, honey!" Bill says with a smile.

"Hi! Just wanted to call one more time before I go to bed!" Hillary explains with a smile.

"Ma ma!" Hope says happily when she hears her mommy's voice.

"Hi, Mrs. Hillary!" Mariah says in the background.

"Hi, baby girl! And hi, Mariah!" Hillary says with a cheeky grin.

Hope crawls into Bill's lap and smiles at Hillary.

"Hi, baby! Did you have a fun day with Daddy and Mariah?" Hillary asks Hope and Hope smiles.

"She sure has! Lots of playing!" Bill says as he kisses Hillary's cheek.

Mariah walks over and sits down next to Bill and Hope.

"Hope and I have been playing all afternoon! And Mr. Bill helped me with my Algebra 2 study guide for my final!" Mariah says to Hillary.

"That's good. I know you're ready for the school year to be over. My husband hasn't been causing any trouble for you, has he?" Hillary says playfully.

"Hey!" Bill says with sass causing the girls to giggle.

"Nope! He's been looking after me as always. Having a snack right now of pretzels and blue cheese dip, but we'll probably have dinner in like the next hour or so. How are you, Huma, and Jordan, enjoying Spain?" Mariah says with a smile.

"We are having a wonderful time! Jordan really wanted to say goodnight to Hope and Bill but he fell asleep right after we came back from dinner." Hillary says as Mariah smiles.

"Ma Ma!" Hope says as she smiles at her Mama, causing Hillary to smile back.

"Yes, sweet girl? What's Daddy making for dinner?" Hillary asks Hope and Hope babbles. 

"I'm not sure yet! Something easy! Mariah is staying for dinner and actually might stay the night. Maria has a night shift tonight since the smoke is causing issues." Bill explains to Hillary.

"Jeez, this smoke is causing a bunch of problems. I hope Al, Tip and Jack are doing okay." Hillary says while rolling her eyes.

"Right. I promised I'd call him before the day is over, so I think I'll do that after I get off the phone with you." Bill says.

"Then get on it, mister! Don't keep the former VP and his lovely lady waiting." Hillary says while winking at her husband.

"Oh, I won't." Bill says back.

"Hopey! Mommy's tired now, so we'll do virtual story time tomorrow. Sound good?" Hillary asks her daughter.

"Aaaa Ma Ma!" Hope says while clapping her hands.

"That answers that!" Mariah says while making a silly face at Hope, making her smile.

"You three get some sleep and I'll talk to you tomorrow ok? Love you!" Bill says while blowing a kiss to his wife.

"Love you too! Goodnight!" Hillary says as she yawns and ends the call.

"I can make chicken tacos tonight! I'm in the mood for some." Mariah says gleefully.

"That sounds good. And if you can, cut up some chicken for Hope and I'll make some Mac and cheese to go with it for her tonight." Bill says in response.

"Ooooo! That sounds good! Now don't you have a certain VP to FaceTime?" Mariah says with a smile.

"Da Da!" Hope says in agreement.

"You're right." Bill says as he goes to the FaceTime App and taps Al's name.
