Chapter 3: Exams and the Rat
Kyuubi was mildly amused. His son was currently attempting to climb a stack of boxes in the corner... and was failing miserably. He toppled them over, stacked em up, and toppled them over again.
He looked at me and pouted, golden eyes looking rather sad... I guess I'll put him up there... the cute little kit... I picked him up by the fluffy scruff on his neck onto the top of the stack.
Despite his almost mature human age, Naruto is about 2 in demon years, and since he's turned into a demon, he's been acting like it. Once he turns back into a human, though, he's very mature. Too mature, almost. It wasn't very cute to Kurama...
He heard a rustle in the bushes and turned his head. The rage that was always boiling in his belly suddenly flamed up and rose. Somebody was watching them? Watching Yudai? Watching... his kit?
No. No they were not...
——
Racing past the bushes in a flurry of adrenaline, Iruka ran out of the forest and back into the gates of Konoha, ignoring the confusion of the guards. He barged into the Hokage's office, hoping nothing important was going on. It didn't matter, whatever was going on, this was more important.
The Hokage was painting kanji upon a large white piece of paper when Iruka entered. His eyes shifted curiously to the instructor. "...?"
"Hokage-sama... Naruto-kun, I believe he... passed away," he was barely able to say it, he was huffing and puffing, his eyes watering from the thought of Naruto...
The Hokage dropped his paint brush. "...and there's... evidence?" he inquired, his eyes hidden by his hat.
Iruka nodded. "The Kyuubi is loose. And cooperating with one of my students! Corrupting him-!" Before he could finish, a tendril of red and black energy grabbed his leg and dragged him out.
At least things are finally speeding up, thought Kurama. Maybe a fighting scene for little ol' me?
