"Well, looks like things are hopping at the Palm Woods. Carlos is hitting the vending machines for his favorite snack. Hey, James and Logan are checking out those $500 custom sneakers everyone's talking about. Dani is in the zone as she has only one more song to complete her debut album and Kendall couldn't be more excited about hitting the zoo with his sweetheart Jo."

"Do you not have anything better to do?" Dani snapped, looking up at the man with an annoyed look.

"Yeah, do you mind?" Kendall asked from beside the blonde, looking back at the man behind him.

"Do you mind?" Mr. Bitters responded. "I'm trying to break into the voiceover business, and I am perfecting my craft. Oh, here comes little Katie with the mail. Uh-oh, looks like bad news."

That caused the teens to all turn their attention to the preteen walking towards them. She dropped the Pop Tiger magazine in her brother's lap, causing him to slowly pick it up.

"Jo confesses: Jett's my man!?" Kendall exclaimed, reading the cover of the magazine.

"Yikes." Dani mumbled, seeing the cover photo, causing her to move her legs from the boy's lap as she sat up.

Dani found herself sitting on the orange couch that she loved so much, watching Kendall pace back and forth in front of her while James and Logan sat at the bar, reading the article aloud.

"It says that things got hot in the very first episode." James read.

"And that their on-screen chemistry quickly turned to off-screen romance." Logan said, finishing the article.

"I'm sure it's not what it looks like." Dani said, causing the three to turn to her. "I mean, the media takes things out of context all the time. Who knows? It might just be a publicity stunt to get people interested in watching their show. That's just how the industry works sometimes. You should just let Jo explain."

On cue, the front door swung open, causing the four teens' heads to snap to it as the Taylor girl rushed in.

"I can explain."

"Okay, explain." Logan and James demanded, crossing their arms, causing Dani to roll her eyes.

"Guys, I can handle this." Kendall said, sending his friends a look before looking back at the girl, crossing his arms like they did. "Okay, explain."

"I can't." Jo replied, shrugging her shoulders. "They told me that photo was going to be on a billboard."

"Does this look like a billboard?" Logan asked, aggressively holding up the magazine.

"Guys," Kendall called, causing Jo and Dani to give them a look as Logan dropped it back on the counter.

"I'm going to see the network publicist right now to get to the bottom of this." Jo explained.

"Yeah, well, Kenall's going with you." James proclaimed.

"Guys!" Kendall and Dani snapped.

"I got this." Kendall said, looking from his friends back to the girl. "Kendall's going with you."

The duo quickly left the apartment, causing the door to slam shut behind them, causing the duo at the bar to quickly look at the computer in front of them.

"Okay, now before we buy these limited edition Buster Clydes together, you agree these are not for wearing but for reselling and getting rich?" Logan questioned, gaining the girl's attention, causing her to make her way from the couch to stand behind the boy as she looked at the screen.

"Yeah, if we can even get a pair." James said, sounding stressed. "Reserving starts in 30 seconds."

'But you agree." Logan said, pulling out a contract, causing the girl to snort. "You no weary. We reselly."

James quickly snatched the pen as he quickly signed the contract, while Dani stealthily grabbed the computer, taking a seat beside Logan as she quickly typed away.

"Logan, it's time to order." James exclaimed, throwing the pen down.

"Okay." Logan said, turning to the computer only to find it not there as a ding was heard from the computer, causing them to look over at the girl.

"There you go. You idiots are now owners of the new limited edition Buster Clydes." Dani announced, pushing the computer over to the boys, showing the green line saying, Order placed.

"How there's still 10 seconds." Logan asked, looking down at his watch.

"You no asky. Me no telly."

"Fair enough." Logan nervously said, letting out a gulp before he turned to James, causing them to high-five as they held onto each other's hands as they jumped up and down.

"We did it! We did it! We did it! We did it! We-" Logan and James quickly stopped as Mama Knight walked into the room; she gave them a weird look. "We bought some sneakers online."

"Okay." Mama Knight replied, shrugging her shoulders and quickly leaving the apartment with the laundry basket under her arm.

"Well, good luck with... this. Now I have an album to finish." Dani said, standing up from her seat, songbook in hand, as she made her way to the door.

"Good luck!"

"Thanks." Dani bid, waving to the boy's as she continued walking out the door and across the hall.

"Do. Do, do, do, do. Do do, do do. Do-do do-do do-do do-do, do do." Dani hummed to herself as she walked around her apartment, singing a medley. "No."

"Dah, Dah, Dah, Dah, Dah." Dani hummed another but realized it was the same beat as another song she already wrote. "No, Dani."

Dani stopped pacing at the sound of someone knocking on her door, causing her to quickly sit her songbook down as she made her way to the door.

"Hi..." Dani said, trailing off as her eyes grew wide as they landed on the younger boy on the other side of the door. "Luca!"

"Hey." Luca smiled, making his way into the girl's apartment as he pulled a suitcase behind him.

"No, hey! What are you doing here? How did you even get here?" Dani exclaimed, quickly shutting the door behind him as she followed him.

"You didn't respond to my letter, and so I got worried, so I rode the bus to Denver and took a train here." Luca explained, plopping onto the couch and watching the girl pace.

"You rode all the way here by yourself! Luca, are you crazy? You're only 11!" Dani exclaimed. "How did you even afford any tickets?"

"I've been saving up the money you sent me for my birthday and Christmas, and I'm actually 12." Luca corrected the girl, causing her to give him a look, making him look down. "Sorry, not important."

"Wait." Dani said, stressing out, before she immediately stopped in her steps as she turned to the small blonde boy. "Does mom know you're here?"

"Of course she does."

"Luca?" Dani called.

"Ok, no. I'm sorry, Dani. I- It's just that you haven't responded to the monthly letter I sent you like you always do, and I got worried." Luca explained, causing the girl to give him a look.

"Luc, I've already told you there might be times I can't write back because I'll be busy with work." Dani sighed, taking the seat next to her little brother, looking over at him. "So, what's the real reason you came here?"

"I missed you, okay." Luca confessed, looking down at his shoes. "It just hasn't been the same at home since you left. The house feels empty with just me and mom. I mean she talks about you all the time and talks about how much she misses you too."

"I don't know about that." Dani said, shaking her head, sending her brother a small smile. "I mean, if anything, I think she hates me. I mean, she made me choose between staying in Colorado or chasing my dreams."

"Well, that's not what I heard. Especially the nights she cries into her pillow when she misses you or when she plays your music in the car."

"She listens to my music?" Dani asked, surprised, causing the boy to nod before she shook her head. "Getting off track here. Do you know how dangerous it was for you to run away from home, Luc? Anything could have happened to you. Mom's probably at home worried sick."

"I know." Luca said, looking down. "It's just that I know that if I asked mom to come see you, she wouldn't have let me."

"Well, if that's what she decides, it's her decision to make because you are only a child. You're barely a teenager." Dani explained, turning his head, causing him to look at her. "Look, I'm really glad that you are here, but you gotta promise me you won't ever do anything like that again, alright?"

"I promise," Luca said, locking his pinky with hers, causing her to smile at him.

"Why don't you go in the guest room and give mom a call and let her know where you are and let her know that you are safe." Dani suggested, messing with the boy's blonde hair that matched hers before she stood up, pulling him up with her. "And then, when you get done, we can make some of those snickerdoodles that you love so much."

"Deal!" Luca exclaimed, quickly grabbing his stuff as he darted to the other room, causing the girl to laugh, but not even a second later he came running back into the room as he tightly hugged the girl. "I really did miss you, Dani."

"I missed you too, buddy." Dani smiled, hugging the boy just as tight before pushing him back towards the rooms as she pointed. "Now go call her."

"Yes, ma'am." Luca salutes at the girl before making his way into the room.

As Dani took a seat back on her couch, the sound of the doorbell once again rang through the apartment, causing the girl to let out a groan as she pulled herself off the couch.

"Who is it now?" Dani whined to herself as she swung the door open, revealing the blonde teenage boy. "Well, if it isn't Kendork, back from the dead already. How was your meeting with the publicist lady?"

"It went great."

"You got kicked out by security, didn't you?" Dani smiked.

"There were two of them, and they were big and scary!" Kendall exclaimed, causing the girl to chuckle. "Also, you were right; it's just a giant publicity stunt that was suggested by Jett, and now Gustavo and Kelly are trying to get pictures of me and Jo; I don't know making out or something to get publicity for the band."

"Very smart move." Dani said, nodding to herself, turning her attention back to the boy. "As much as I love helping you and the pack of wild idiots with all of your plans and schemes and everything in between, I'm kind of busy with something. So why don't we skip to the part where you tell me what it is that you came up here to get from me so that we can get it out of the way?"

"Want to go on a date with me?" Kendall asked, smiling brightly at the girl. "Please."

"Come again."

...

"You know, Knight, when you asked me on a date, this is definitely not what I had in mind." Dani teased, placing her cup on the table as she sat in the booth beside the blonde boy, causing him to send her a small smile.

"Well, it's not the zoo." Jo stated, sitting back to back with Kendall, sitting at the table behind him with Jett next to her. "But we are together with no disguises."

"Yeah, that's true." Kendall agreed.

"I am not into this." Jett said, slamming his coffee cup onto the table.

"For once, I agree with the mannequin with six rows of teeth." Dani sighed.

"Why, thank you." Jett flirtily winked at the girl, causing her to roll her eyes.

"Just shut it, Jett. You started this." Kendall exclaimed.

"Look, we're all going to get along and accept the fact that this is what it's like dating and fake dating in Hollywood." Jo explained.

"I still don't understand why I'm here. I'm not dating or fake dating anyone." Dani said, quickly putting her hand up before Jett had the chance to speak. "I would end you, Stetson. Look, you know I love you both, but I have a deadline for my album coming up in 3 days, and I haven't even come up with a single word or melody for my last song."

"Most of the songs are telling a story, right?" Kendall asked, causing the girl to nod. "Why don't you write a song about how you are feeling now?"

"Yeah! Now that it's been a few months and you are writing your songs and letting your feelings out, how do you feel about everyone hearing it?" Jo questioned, looking back at her friend. "Especially if you know who heard it."

"Hmm." Dani hummed, thinking to herself, before looking back up with a smile. "I'm feeling fearless."

"Oh, no." Kendall muttered, his eyes growing wide, looking at his computer as he turned to show it to Jo and Jett. "It looks like things just got a lot harder."

"You're cheating on me?" Jett exclaimed, sounding actually hurt, causing Dani to let out a snort.

Soon the group was surrounded by a group of paparazzi with cameras as they yelled out questions and took multiple pictures with their bright flashes.

She pressed the last cord on her keyboard, causing the younger boy to clap happily, smiling at his sister.

"Wow, that was what-your fourth song in 2 hours?" Luca asked, causing the girl to nod. "Do you always write this much at once?"

"Only once, when I started the album." Dani explained, letting out a breath of fresh air. "I don't know; I guess you can say I was inspired."

The duo sat in a comfortable silence as the teen girl played a little tune on the keyboard.

"So how did it go with mom?" Dani asked, taking her hands off the keys and looking over at her brother.

"It went great." Luca said, causing the girl to give him a look. "Yeah, no, she was pretty mad. But not as mad as she was when you broke her favorite vase a couple years ago."

"Yeah, she was pretty mad at me." Dani chuckled lightly. "So, when did she say she wanted you home?"

"She actually didn't say." Luca replied, causing the girl to give him a confused look. "She said I should be able to spend time with you since it's been years. So I can stay until you're ready to ship me back home. That's if you're cool with it."

"Really?" Dani asked, causing the boy to nod, causing her to quickly nod. "Yeah, of course you can stay with me. It would mean everything to me."

"Yeah, cool." Luca nodded, looking away as a grin grew on his face. "So those snickerdoodles?"

"Come on." Dani laughed, standing up, causing the sister and brother to make their way to the kitchen, where they baked and caught up on the little things that couldn't fit into a handwritten note....
