It had been a few days since Dani returned to LA from Colorado.

It wasn't until she touched back down that she found out Jo left to star in a movie and broke up with Kendall.

Dani didn't know what to feel.

Of course she was sad that the girl left the Palm Woods; she was one of the only real girlfriends Dani had made.

But on the other hand, Dani felt like a bad person because she was kind of happy the couple was broken up.

It's obvious that Dani has a soft spot for the Knight boy.

But he had a girlfriend at the time she finally figured out her true feelings for the boy, so she could never do anything about it.

Besides, the boy is her best friend, and she would hate to ruin an amazing friendship over a stupid crush.

"I've never seen him like this before." Kelly stated from beside Dani inside the control booth.

"It's too much pressure." Dani said as Carlos, James, and Logan stood behind them, nodding in agreement.

They watched Gustavo, who was sitting frozen solid in the studio at his piano bench, with his right arm extended straight out with his index finger pointing down as he repeatedly hit the same key over and over again.

Dani wanted it to stop.

"I don't understand." Griffin spoke, appearing behind the group, causing them to jump as they turned to face the CEO. "All I asked was that Gustavo write a huge, mega, summertime hit single that captures everyone's hearts, sells one billion copies, rules the world, and has the word 'beach' in it!"

That caused the group to give the man a shocked look as he shrugged his shoulders as if it were nothing.

"What? I gave him till the end of the day to do it." Griffin explained, causing the group to quickly look back at Gustavo before slowly turning to look back at Griffin. "Now, what's wrong with this one?"

Griffin pointed at a sad Kendall, who was lying face down on the couch, as he groaned in response.

"His girlfriend moved to New Zealand." Carlos replied, letting out a wince.

"Literally, flew out of his life." Logan added.

"And he's face down on the couch." James pointed out, causing Dani to roll her eyes.

"Yeah, you guys are not helping." Dani said.

"Well, fix it, because I can't have this bummer singing my huge single of the summer. And I need my huge hit single of the summer that rules the world or else." Griffin threatened, pointing at Abdul, causing him to pat the briefcase in his hand.

The group quickly looked from the depressed Kendall to the broken Gustavo back to Griffin.

"Uh?" Griffin questioned. "Boys, do you have an idea how I got to be so rich and powerful?"

"Your grandpa invented the moist towelette, and you inherited his wealth." Logan answered.

"That, and I solve problems." Griffin explained, taking a seat on Kendall's back as he took up the entire couch. "Now, you four, take Kendall and get him over his heartbreak. And you get Gustavo to write a single that rules the world. See? Problem solved. Or else."

Dani found herself standing in apartment 2J with the boys as they watched Kendall lay face down on their couch.

"It's going to be easy." James said, holding his arms out with a giant grin.

"We'll just snap him out of this with our patented heartbreak treatment." Logan spoke.

"He sings, and we don't get Griffin's or else treatment." Carlos added.

"You guys haven't been through heartbreak, have you?" Dani asked, looking at the trio with her arms crossed, causing them to shake their heads. "Of course you idiots haven't."

"Guys, I'll be fine." Kendall muttered. "And no hitting me with a pie, or a giant boxing glove, or a water soaker."

"What? We were never going-" Dani trailed off, but quickly stopped as she watched the other three pull those exact three things out. "Really?"

That caused the trio to quickly get rid of the pie, the giant boxing glove, and the water soaker.

"Okay, but he is talking." Logan pointed out, shrugging his shoulders.

"And if he gets off that couch, we could get a..." James said, quickly trailing off. "Pink smoothie!"

"You love pink smoothies!" Logan reminded the boy.

"That is true." Kendall said, peaking over at the group.

"Yes, you and Jo used to get them all the time, and you would laugh." Carlos started, causing James and Logan to hit him as Kendall hid his face back into the coach, letting out a moan. "Ow!"

"Okay, look at it this way." James spoke. "We need you ready for our big summer single now and your single now!"

"And think of all the cool things you can do with the boys again now that you're not tied down." Logan added.

"Like lobby hockey!" Carlos exclaimed, causing the trio to pull out their hockey sticks with giant grins.

"Yeah, let me know how that goes." Dani said, looking from Kendall to the trio. "I'll be in my apartment thinking of actual ways to help him when you need me."

Dani was sitting on her couch with her guitar in her lap when she heard a knock at her door.

She carefully placed the guitar on its stand before she made her way to the door, opening it, and to her surprise, it was...

"Kendall." Dani said, surprised. "I see you made it off the couch. I'm guessing the guys' lobby hockey thing worked."

"No, it failed horribly." Kendall admitted, shaking his head, causing the girl to chuckle. "I kind of snapped at them, and they all just left."

"They just left?" Dani questioned, causing the boy to nod. "Well, what did you say?"

"Well, they were getting on my last nerves, and so I told them they wouldn't understand how I felt until they all had girlfriends and lost them in an instant."

"Oh no." Dani muttered, stepping out of her apartment and closing the door behind her as she dragged the boy behind her. "Come on."

"Where are we going?" Kendall questioned, looking down at the girl, confused once they stepped into the elevator.

"To clean up the mess you just started."

The duo stepped into the lobby, quickly spotting the other three.

"Hey, guys, I am sorry for snapping at you earlier -." Kendall started to apologize, but was quickly cut off as James and Carlos cried out loudly, attaching themselves to Kendall for comfort.

"Do you see what you started?!" Logan exclaimed.

"Get them out of the lobby." Dani snapped, ushering the two boys to move Carlos and James.

This time, Carlos and James were lying face down on the couch, crying.

"What exactly happened?" Dani questioned, gesturing towards the boys on the couch. "When I left you guys, it was him on the couch, and now they're on the couch."

"Well, Kendall told us we couldn't understand what he was going through, and so we all went out with girls, and theirs clearly ended worse than mine. And if we don't get them to sing on the summer single, then Griffin's going to 'or else' us!"

"Now my perfect record is gone!" James cried out before he quickly lifted his head off the couch. "Why couldn't you let us in?!"

"What does he mean by record?" Dani asked the group, confused.

"James has never been dumped by a girl before." Logan explained.

"Was."

"I'll never forget you, red-shirted girl." Carlos sobbed.

"Dude, wait." Logan said, looking over at Kendall. "Why aren't you faced down on the couch anymore?"

"Well, you guys told me to get my mind off Jo, and you guys did help me get my mind off Jo, but now I've said Jo three times, and I'm starting to feel a little..." Kendall trailed off, nearly losing his balance, causing Logan and Dani to quickly catch the boy.

"No, no, no." Logan said. "Think about them, not Jo."

"How about we stop saying her name?" Dani suggested, shrugging her shoulders. "There problem is solved."

"Now, how do we fix this?" Logan questioned, pointing at the duo on the couch.

"By remembering what you guys told me, we're single now, and we can do all the cool stuff we used to do before we were in relationships, and we can get through this together."

Dani let Kendall and Logan take the reins of fixing Carlos and James.

They were having 'bro' time, and the girl didn't want to intervene, even though the duo begged her to come; she wanted the group to have their time together.

Dani was sitting in the studio after receiving an urgent text from Kelly, saying Gustavo had figured out the huge, hit summer single.

Dani was just hoping Kendall and Logan figured out how to fix James and Carlos.

James, Carlos, and Kendall began crying as they sang, causing Dani's eyes to go wide.

"Okay, Gustavo, seriously?!" Logan snapped. "No, Kendall, stay with me."

"Nice job, Gustavo." Dani said, patting the man's back. "I think it's your best work yet."

"Dani, I need a little help in here!" Logan exclaimed, causing the girl to let out a loud groan before she rushed into the recording booth.

"I don't like it, Gustavo." Griffin spoke with his arms crossed. "And I said I wanted my hit summer song today, or else."

The five teens quickly stopped what they were doing as all of their attention went to the group outside of the booth.

"Griffin, I just need more time."

"So, now I'm giving all your money to market the summer single to our summer snack food division." Griffin explained, causing Abdul to open the case to reveal the packs of snacks. "So they can launch their just-invented Yo-Blow. The yogurt you can blow bubbles with. I have no idea how it works, and frankly, I don't want to."

"Griffin, we can get you that single; we just need more time." Kelly explained, causing Kendall, Logan, and Dani to quickly nod.

"They've never let you down, and you know that." Katie spoke, pointing at the man, causing Kendall, Logan, and Dani to quickly shake their heads.

"Katie, I like your jacket." Griffin said. "So you get one more day to get me a summer single with the word beach in it that rules the world. Or... you all get yo-blow."

Griffin and Abdul headed for the door, causing Gustavo, Kelly, and Katie to quickly turn and face the booth.

"You three, get those two off the ground and get them to stop blubbering so they can sing!" Gustavo demanded the trio.

"Got it." Logan said, quickly lifting James off the ground as Kendall pulled Carlos away, while Dani followed closely behind them.

The trio had found two wheel barrels on their way back to the Palm Woods, so Logan and Kendall wheeled the sobbing duo back to the Palm Woods.

"Okay, you guys know what we have to do." Kendall said, looking between the duo.

"Own it!" Logan spoke in a high-pitched voice as he wore hand puppets on both of his hands.

"Absoulety not." Dani eyed the boy and his puppets before shaking her head. "Logan, you take Carlos; find the red-shirted girl so he can see her just one last time."

"Just one more time!" Carlos cried out from inside the wheel barrel.

"It's okay, buddy." Dani consoled him, patting his shoulder.

"Right." Logan said, throwing the puppets. "You two take James to find Jennifer, and you get her to go out with him again."

"So he can break up with her this time." Kendall declared.

"That might work." James cried.

That caused Logan and Kendall to look at the blonde girl standing between them.

"Move it." Dani exclaimed, causing the boys to quickly push their friends away in the wheel barrels as she followed after Kendall.

...

"It's actually kind of funny when you think about it." Kendall spoke as he and Dani stood side by side in front of the Jennifers. "Just go back out with James so he can dump you this time."

"Forget it." The trio spoke together.

"Guys, come on, he's a total wreck." Dani explained, causing the duo to gesture to the Diamond boy, who was hanging over the side of the wheel barrel.

"This was not the plan!"

"Your plan was stupid." Blonde Jennifer said.

"You're stupid." James quickly shot back at the girl.

"James!" Dani snapped.

"Well, she started it!" James exclaimed.

"See, this is why I broke up with him!" Jennifer pointed out.

"Ah, you!"

Kendall quickly wheeled the boy away, leaving Dani standing alone in front of the Jennifers.

"Jennifer. Jenn. My friend." Dani said, smiling at the girl, causing the trio to look at the girl amused. "Please just put me out of my misery and just take James back."

"No." The trio spoke, causing the Jennings girl to drop her head as she let out a loud sigh.

"Well, why not?"

"Have you met him?" The trio spoke together.

"That's fair." Dani said, trailing off as she nodded her head in agreement.

Dani felt a presence standing beside her, causing her to turn to find James standing beside her wearing a tuxedo with flowers in his hands.

"Why won't you go out with me again?" James shouted.

Gustavo appeared behind the Jennifers singing as Katie and Kelly held up his keyboard.

"James, stop it. Stop it!" Kendall said, racing toward the group, pushing the brunette boy back.

James stop it, stop it, stop it

"Now one of you say the word beach." Katie said, looking at the Jennifers.

"It's not going to happen, okay?" Blonde Jennifer spoke.

"She dumped you. Deal with it."

That caused the Diamond boy to fall over onto the beach chair, tossing the flowers into the air, causing them to land in Kendall's hands.

He looked at the flowers in his hands before quickly handing them over to Dani.

"Jennifer, please. We need James to sing on our summer single, and he can't sing like that." Kendall begged.

"Look, everybody has their price. So what is it going to take for you to take James back so he can dump you?" Kelly questioned, marching over to stand in front of the group of girls.

"I want the jacket." The girl demanded, pointing back at the leather jacket the Knight girl was wearing.

"What?! There is no way I'm giving--"

"Katie, give her the jacket!" Kelly exclaimed, causing the two teens beside her to jump.

"Take it." Katie muttered after a second, handing over the new leather jacket.

"And now." James spoke, jumping up from his spot on the beach chair. "Will you take me back?"

"Yes." Jennifer sighed, rolling her eyes.

"I'm dumping you!"

"We know." The trio spoke before standing up as they walked away.

"All right." Kendall happily said, putting his hand on James shoulder. "We've got James back."

"But I still don't have my summer single that rules the world!" Gustavo exclaimed, turning his attention to Katie.

"Just call the song Rule The World." Dani suggested from beside James. "Don't have anything about relationships or girls in it, and instead of making it slow and emotional, make it fast and danceable!"

"Dani, it's not that easy..." Gustavo trailed off as the girl crossed her arms with a smirk. "Wait a second. I'm amazing."

"Where were you 3 hours ago?" Kelly questioned, causing the blonde girl to shrug with a smile.

The group all made their way to apartment 2J.

"Whoo-hoo! Gustavo Rocque has a summer single!" Gustavo cheered. "Now all I need is a happy Carlos!"

The group's smiles fell as they noticed the boy lying face down across the dining table.

"No, happy Carlos." Kelly spoke, causing Kendall, James, and Dani to share a look.

"But only for a second." Logan said, making his way to the front door. "Because I ordered him chili cheese fries."

"Chili cheese fries?" Dani questioned.

"How are chili cheese fries supposed to get that?" Gustavo pointed at Carlos. "In a singing mood?"

The sound of the doorbell ringing filled the apartment, causing Logan to hold up a finger towards the producer before he turned to open the door.

"Chili Cheese Factory."

That caused Carlos to quickly sit his head up as a smile formed on the group's faces.

"Someone order chili cheese fries?" She asked, stepping into the apartment.

"Carlos." The group spoke, pointing towards the Garcia boy.

"He did." Logan answered, as the happy and smiling Carlos appeared in front of the delivery girl.

"Hey, it's my old boyfriend."

"Uh-huh."

"Okay, Carlos and me are back!" James cheered. "And now that Kendall had Jo out of his head... I said Jo, didn't I?"

"Yup."

Dani slowly made her way over to the boy, causing him to look up at her as he was lying face down on the couch.

"Hey." Dani spoke softly, sending the boy a small smile as she took a seat beside him, causing him to slowly sit up as he looked over at her.

"Hey."

"Look, I'm not going to sugarcoat anything, but breakups totally suck. And it's okay to be sad, upset, or confused; you have every right to feel that way. Breakups aren't supposed to be an easy thing. But I promise you, you will get over it. It probably won't be today or tomorrow, but you won't always feel this way. You are one strong individual, and no one can deny that, but let us be here for you so you're not going through this alone." Dani spoke, causing the boy to look around the room at the group as they smiled at the boy before he turned his attention back to the Jennings girl as she sent him a small smile. "I know guys are weird with their feelings, but if you ever want to talk, I've been told I'm a very good listener."

"Thanks, Dani." Kendall said, sending the girl an appreciative smile.

"There's one thing that snaps everyone out of heartbreak: a summer single that rules the world and has the word 'beach' in it." Gustavo explained.

"A summer single is not going to help me, Gustavo." Kendall spoke.

"My summer single will!"

"Yeah, not everybody's heartbreak." Kelly spoke, causing everyone to turn their attention to the sad girl who was lying on the couch.

Later that evening, Dani found herself curled up on her couch, watching her and her mom's favorite, She's All That.

The sound of a light knock caused the girl to quickly look towards her door before she grabbed the remote, pausing the movie before she made her way to her door.

The Jennings girl opened the door to reveal Kendall, causing the boy to send her a small smile, and she just knew by the look on his face that he had stuff to get off his chest.

"Come on in." Dani said, opening the door wider, allowing the boy to walk past her before she closed the door behind him.
