big time school of rocque
School was always one of Dani's favorite things growing up, other than writing music.
It's where she met her childhood best friend.
That was up until two years ago, when she got a job at Rocque Records and had to move across the country from her friends and family.
Dani's school experience while working at Rocque Records is what you can call different and very interesting.
The School of Rocque was run by the one and only Gustavo Rocque, or Principal Rocque, during school hours.
Dani was the only student at The School of Rocque until today, when the boys of Big Time Rush became the newest students.
"Is it time?" Logan asks, looking over at Kendall.
"It's time." Kendall answered, smiling.
"Are you sure he's going to wake up?" Dani asked, looking from the sleeping James to the other guys, who all had smiles on their faces.
"Trust us, Dani; he'll be up." Kendall smiled, turning to Carlos. "Carlos, do the honors."
"Woah!" Carlos yelled, cupping his hands. "Free hair gel!"
As the boys promised, on que, James' eyes shot open almost immediately, and he rolled straight into the Palm Woods pool.
Dani and the boys began to laugh as James quickly resurfaced, looking very annoyed.
"Yeah, real funny. Now where's the free hair gel?" James yelled, not getting the joke.
"How sweet is this?" Carlos excitedly said as James made his way out of the pool. "It's like a vacation with singing. It's a sing-cation."
"Okay, guys." Kelly spoke, aproaching the group, making Dani groan knowing what time it was. "Dry off and get dressed; it's time to hit the studio."
"Kelly." Kendall greeted the lady with a smile as Dani walked over and stood next to Kelly, facing the guys. "What does the great Gustavo Rocque have in store for us today?"
"Harmonies?" Logan asked, pointing at her.
"Breaking down some new dance moves?"
"A big Hollywood party to get us some red carpet exposure?" James questioned.
"Close; we're going to school." Dani informs the boys, causing them to huddle up together and scream in fear. Dani turned to Kelly with a smile. "They might be a minute; I'll be waiting in the lobby."
Dani made her way into the lobby of the Palm Woods as she did every morning; the bell rang as the teens of the Palm Woods made their way to the Palm Woods School.
Dani usually says hello every morning to the students that she knows as they pass: Camille, Tyler, and even the Jennifer's. Dani watched as the boys of Big Time Rush walked right past her, following the Jennifer's to the Palm Woods School.
"Oh no." Kelly spoke, pulling Logan and Kendall back, causing them all to stop and turn to her. "You're not going to school here."
"What school are we going to then?"
"Just wait; you're going to love it." Dani said, laughing a little bit.
...
"Welcome to the School of Rocque." Gustavo spoke, hitting the chalk board with a stick at the front of the room, which was a supply closet.
"I don't like this school." James cried out, turning to look at Dani, who was sitting in the middle of Kendall and James as their desks were pushed together to make a long desk.
With the increase in students and lack of room, Dani didn't have a desk, so she had to share with Kendall and James.
"Quiet, you love it!" Gustavo snapped, pointing his stick at all of us. "Because by studying here, you won't miss out on rehearsal time and recording sessions. Instead of a lunch break, The School of Rocque has harmony breaks. And every field trip is to the dance studio down the hall."
"And you're our teacher?" Logan asks, with concern in our voice.
"No." Gustavo answered, causing the boys to cheer and high-five each other, causing Dani to roll her eyes.
Kelly walks in with the same harsh teacher that Dani has had for the past two years, Mr. Smitty.
"Guys say 'hi' to Mr. Smitty." Kelly introduces, pointing to him.
"But you all can call me Mr. Smitty." Mr. Smitty spoke, causing the three adults to laugh at his joke, making Dani shake her head and facepalm herself.
"First, we have probabilities," Mr. Smitty said as Gustavo and Kelly exited the room. "As in the probability." Mr. Smitty grabbed the wood stick that Gustavo had and smacked it onto James' desk, causing all of the guys to jump. "That this band will fail before its first single is ever released."
"Smitty, still sour as ever I see." Dani greeted the man with a fake smile. "I thought maybe after two years you'd be a lot nicer. Guess I was wrong."
The boys all looked at Dani, stunned, but she didn't crack as Mr. Smitty walked directly in front of her seat.
"Danielle Jennings." Mr. Smitty spoke, returning the fake smile. "I see you're still here. I was hoping you got shipped back to wherever you came from, but I guess my wish didn't come true."
Before Dani had the chance to respond, Kendall placed his hand over her mouth, causing the guys to all give Mr. Smitty a smile.
...
Somehow, James convinced Logan to switch seats with him because he was scared.
Dani and Logan were working together on the math problems that were on the board, while the other three boys weren't paying attention.
"The answer is, x equals 9." Logan answered proudly as he and Dani high-fived.
Smitty made his way over to Logan's desk and leaned towards the Mitchell boy, causing Logan to lean back.
"You know, I used to be in a boy band once." Mr. Smitty stated, "Oh, we thought we had made it. Hot songs. Flying business class. Drinking milk straight from the cartoon: "
"Let me guess, milk goes sour too fast." Dani said, cutting him off. "Or did you get booted because of your bitterness?"
Once again, Dani's mouth was covered, but this time by Logan as Dani shared a glare with Mr. Smitty.
"I never thought I'd say this, but can we get back to math?" James asks, causing Mr. Smitty to look at him.
"Yes, yes, let's get back to math!" Mr. Smitty exclaims, pointing to James, as he opens the door and drags in a chalkboard. "So, if four boys are in a band making ten thousand dollars, their manager gets 15 percent, and their record sales plummet 80 percent. What part of their dream is crushed? Anyone? ALL OF IT!"
His outburst caused the teens to jump, and Mr. Smitty tapped Logan's text book with his wood stick and said, "Let's turn to page 562 in our textbooks."
The boys quickly turned to face each other, leaning in towards Dani.
"What do you suppose is going on at the Palm Woods school right now?" Kendall asked the other boys before each guy turned and fantasized about the Palm Woods school.
Dani knew what was going to happen next when she saw Mr. Smitty pull out a spray bottle, but before she had the chance to warn the others, he sprayed each of the boys; he even sprayed her.
"Pay. attention . to . the . board." Mr. Smitty said, spraying someone after each word.
"Why'd you spray me?" Dani asked, annoyed, wiping her face off, glaring at the teacher.
"I just felt like it." Mr. Smitty states as he turns back to the board, and the boys lean back in.
"I hate him." Dani muttered, angrily staring daggers into the back of Mr. Smitty's head.
"We know, Dani." Logan said, patting her back. "We know."
"Did you guys just have the same Palm Woods school fantasy as me?" Kendall asks, looking at the others.
"Was the history assignment bungee jumping?" Carlos asked excitedly, causing Dani to give him a 'really' look.
"We have to get out of here and into that school,James says, ignoring Carlos.
"You guys don't know how long I have been trying to get rid of him." Dani groaned, gesturing to Mr. Smitty. "Also, Gustavo wouldn't go for it."
"Follow my lead." Kendall said, holding up a finger.
"Hey, Hey, Hey. No talking." Mr. Smitty says, putting down the chalk and pointing to the group of teens, then looking directly at Dani. "Jennings, would you stop distracting the new students with all your flirting?"
"I didn't say anything." Dani snapped, throwing her hands up. "Maybe if..."
Logan once again covered her mouth as all the boys looked at her, and she put her hands up in defense.
"All eyes on the board!" Smitty demanded as he pointed to the board in a repeated motion.
"Mr. Smitty." Kendall said. "Do that again."
"What, this?" Smitty asked, doing it once again; It looked like a grandpa trying to do a wave but with one arm.
"Did you guys see that?" Kendall asked the group dramatically, as all the boys nodded in fake aww.
"The passion, the snap. You can't teach that." Logan commented, shrugging.
"Really?" Smitty asks with a positive tone. "Well, I do have to admit, I was pretty good."
"Which is why you can't give up a dream!" James encouraged. "I mean, sure, you may be too old for a boy band, but you are perfect for, uh..."
"A man band!" Kendall says, finishing for James. "Which is all the rage these days, right?"
"In Germany!" Carlos exclaims, causing the other four teens to look at him while Dani gives him a fist bump on the low.
"You got a demo?" James asks, snapping his attention back to the man. "I bet it's hot!"
"No, no, no," Smitty said, shaking his head. "I flung all of those in the ocean."
"I wonder why." Dani muttered, causing Kendall to nudge her.
"Then we gotta record you one right now." Kendall says.
"No, we couldn't do that." Smitty says, shaking his head.
"Dani, here, knows her way around a production board!" James points this out.
"Yeah, she can have a demo in your hand in 10 minutes tops." Kendall adds, agreeing with James.
"Wait, what?" Dani snapped, turning to Kendall. "I didn't agree to anything."
Not even a few seconds later, Dani and Kendall were bickering back and forth in a whisper, mostly Dani saying how much she hated Smitty.
Next thing Dani knew, she was sitting in the recording studio, recording Smitty, while all the boys were trying to tell her to hurry up.
"If you guys don't shut up, you'll be the ones on a plane to Germany." Dani threatened, turning to face the boys. "And that's a promise; got it."
"Take as long as you need." The boys say together, taking a step back, smiling at the girl before she turns back around to the panel. Smitty finished his cover of 'Big Time Rush', the boys cheering and rushing to Smitty with his things as Dani put it onto a CD and ejected it.
Dani skipped over to the group as the boys were hyping him up, and Dani handed over the CD.
"One finished demo, as promised." Dani spoke through her greeted teeth, handing it to Smitty with a fake smile.
Carlos handed him his briefcase, and Logan handed him a printed one-way ticket to Düsseldorf. Smitty ran off very happy down the hall until he turned the corner as the teens waved him goodbye.
"Now to tell Gustavo, our teacher bailed, and we need to go to the Palm Woods and..." Kendall says as they turn around, and they scream when they see Gustavo and Kelly standing there.
"Of course, you can go there!" Gustavo exclaims in his sarcastic voice that Dani knew too well. "Now that your teacher is off to Germany, there's really no other option except, Kelly get them another teacher! Someone untrickable!" He exclaims, heading to his office with Kelly in tow.
"Man, we were so close." Carlos cried.
"No, we weren't." Dani groaned as she made her way back to the supply closet as the boys followed behind, as they waited for their new teacher.
...
Within 30 minutes, Gustavo had another teacher.
The boys once again switched seats, Dani was now between Kendall and Carlos but Kendall is where Logan was before and Logan took Carlos' seat.
Mrs. Chisdak.
A small, older lady with a hard look and harsh voice, along with a tightly buttoned collar.
"So..., you didn't like your first teacher? Well, I didn't like him either. The moment he felt heat, he ran for cover. But me?" Ms. Chisdak said, gripping the wooden ruler she had in her hand pointing it at herself. "I'm battle-tested. I have a black belt, and I'm not afraid to hit you with it. And there is nothing, nothing, you can say or do to get me to leave."
"Here's the keys to Porsche out front." Kendall said, pulling out what looks like Gustavo's car key. "Leave now and it's yours."
Dani never saw anyone move so fast, especially some at that age. Not long after you heard the squeak of tires out front and a scream from Gustavo, he must have realized what happened.
The door of the room soon opened to reveal Kelly, "You know he's not going to give up."
"Kelly," Kendall started as he sat up straight. "A proper education is very important to us, and this is a supply closet!"
"Attention, students."Gustavo's voice rang through the intercom. "Please report to Principal Rocque's Office. All students report to Principal Rocque's Office."
Arriving at Principal Rocque's Office, Dani noticed that Gustavo's entire office was once again decorated into a Principal's office.
"Still loving the office." Dani says taking a seat closets to the door as she looked around the office.
The boys came in after Dani, with Logan next to Dani, then Kendall, James and finally Carlos on the other end.
"Is he serious?" Logan asked, leaning towards Dani.
"Very." Dani answers as she watches Kelly snatch the pencil sharpener away from Gustavo.
"Boys, I.." Gustavo started which caused Dani to fake a cough, causing Gustavo to fix himself. "Boys and Dani, I care about you. I do. And I would like to tell you a story of my youth. My Principal was a jerk. And I vowed one day I would be a principal; a good one... Fair, pleasant..."
"But you're none of those things." Carlos points out, making Dani giggle but quickly stopped when Gustavo looked at her.
"Hey! Things don't always work!" Gustavo yells, slamming his hands onto his desk. "Bottom line is, you all are staying at the school of Rocque. End of Story. You even dragged poor Ms. Jenning's into your scheme."
"Actually I've wanted Smitty gone for the last 2 years." I pointed out with a big smile. "So it was a plus for me."
"But, Gustavo-" Kendall started until Gustavo cut him off by tapping a ruler on the plaque that read Principal Rocque. "Principal Rocque, it's just that this school isn't meeting our social and educational needs. We need to go somewhere that actually feels like a real school."
"With girls." James says, making Dani roll her eyes.
"I take total offense to that." Dani says looking down at James.
"With more girls." James says, correcting himself.
"And field trips." Logan points out, excitedly.
"And Pie!" Carlos exclaims, as all the boys pointed to him while Dani shook her head and let out a sigh.
"You go to my school, you play by my rules!" Gustavo exclaims, yelling once again. "And I will find a teacher that will enforce those rules. A W.W.E Superstar super teacher!"
"Who are you going to get?" Kendall asked sarcastically, laughing with the guys. "Chris 'the masterpiece' masters?"
...
That's exactly who he got.
The group was once again back in the supply closet, this time Logan and Kendall switching seats, so Logan was once again in the front.
Mr. Masterpiece stood at the front of the room, writing his name, and soon turned and ripped his shirt to reveal his muscles, causing the boys to scream in terror.
"I didn't see this coming." Kendall said, causing Dani to turn to him, glaring.
"I could have told you that, idiot." Dani snapped before turning back around as Mr. Masterpiece clapped to gain their attention.
"Okay, class, let's get started." Mr. Masterpiece said with a friendly smile.
"Is that really Chris Masters?" Carlos asks, turning to the rest of the group, but before anyone had the chance to respond, Gustavo's voice rang over the intercom once again.
"That's right! W.W.E. champion and the only certified A.S.P.A. teacher trained to use the master lock."
"That's right! And I believe that the key to a sound mind is a healthy body. So throw your books away."
All five teens looked around at each other before shrugging. As the boys all pushed the books off the desk, Dani stuck them in her backpack.
"Now, I want you to lift your desk. Lift your desk!" Masterpiece exclaimed, and in fear, the boys quickly lifted them. "Now give me 500 desk presses!"
Sitting in the middle of the madness, Dani watched as the boys struggled to even get them over their heads. She was also nervous that one of them might hit her.
"You too, Princess!" Masterpiece said to the girl.
"One. As you can see, I don't have a desk." Dani said, motioning around to show there was no other desk. "Two. There's no way that you will get me to lift a desk, buddy."
"Then drop and give me 500 pushups, Blondie." Masterpiece demanded, now standing in front of the girl.
"Listen here, muscle head; I know Karate, and I'm not afraid to..." Dani started standing but was cut off as her phone dings. "Welp, it looks like I'm needed, duty calls. Bye, boys."
Dani quickly grabs her bags and hurries out of the room, leaving with the sounds of the boy's cries.
...
The next morning, Dani decided to wait for the guys in the lobby.
Dani soon sees the guys stumbling out of the elevators, all looking like they were in pain.
"I can't take another day at the School of Rocque." Kendall complained, stopping in front of the blonde girl with the others.
"I can't feel my arms." Logan whines.
"Morning Guys!" Dani smiled, lifting her hand up. "High five."
They all went to raise their hands, but they all quickly dropped them back down as they let out a groan, causing the girl to laugh.
"You did that on purpose." Kendall glared at her before noticing the smiling group of kids walk by. "Why is everyone so happy?"
"Oh, Miss. Collins told them they were having class outside today." Dani said, and soon the guys went back to their fantasies.
"Palm Woods school fantasy again?" Kelly asked, walking up to the group, causing Dani to nod in response as Kelly started snapping her fingers in front of the guys. "Come on, come on! You're going to be late for school."
"Is Principal Rocque available this morning?" Dani asked, walking out of the palm woods with Kelly as the boys followed behind.
...
Dani walked directly to Gustavo's office while the boys made their way into the supply closet for class.
"I can't take it anymore, Gustavo!" Dani says, walking into the office and taking a seat in the chair directly in the middle, catching Gustavo off guard. "I wasn't the one who asked for Chris 'The Masterpiece' Masters to be my teacher! I don't even know why I am a student here! It's been two long years here. So can I please go to the Palm Woods school?"
"Sure." Gustavo answers with a shrug, going back to sharpening his pencils.
"Sure?" Dani questioned him, standing up. "I had to deal with the School of Rocque and your crazy teachers, and all you have to say is sure."
"Do you want me to change my mind?" Gustavo asked, causing Dani to quickly sit back down as she shook her head.
Soon the sound of screaming ran through the entire studio, causing Dani and Gustavo to share a look before they both raced out of the room, only to see Masters running away from the supply closet.
"Those kids are animals!" Masters yelled, pointing towards the supply closet, as he flexed before he fled from the studio.
This caused Gustavo to drop his pencil sharpener and pencil onto the ground in disbelief.
"Jennings." Gustavo called, causing Dani to look his way. "Please tell all students to report to Principal Rocque's office immediately."
Before Gustavo had the chance to say anything else, Dani raced towards the supply closet, only to see the boys cheering and what looked like chowder sitting on James' desk.
"Fake vomit?" Dani asks, causing the boys to nod. "Nice. Anyway, Principal Rocque would like to see you all in his office."
Dani turned out of the room and made her way back to Gustavo's office, with the boys following right behind her. Dani made it into the room and noticed Kelly standing on the side of Gustavo, and there were only 4 chairs out, so Dani made her way to the other side of Gustavo.
As the boys sat down, Gustavo pulled out a giant blue book and slammed it onto the desk directly in front of the boys.
"The A.S.P.A. Official School Registry?" Kendall read, confused.
"And it's filled with A.S.P.A.-licensed teachers that I can and will call!" Gustavo shouted as he turned the book to show the thick binding of the book. "Every time you chase one off, I have 10,000 waiting in the wings." He exclaimed, throwing it at Logan, causing him to fall out of the chair.
"It's a big book, guys. Your teacher will be here in thirty minutes." Kelly said, giving them a stern look.
"You play by my rules; I win!" Gustavo cheered, loudly looking down at the boys as Logan got off the ground. "I'm going to laugh and leave victorious now."
Gustavo walked out of his office, laughing like a maniac, as Kelly trailed closely behind him, closing the door behind her.
"Well, I guess we all can kiss the Palm Woods school goodbye." James sighed, throwing his hands up.
"Well," Dani said, dragging the word out, causing the boy's head to snap her way. "Let's just say the school population just dropped by 20%."
"He's letting you go to the Palm Woods School?" James asks, causing the girl to nod. "No fair!"
"You guys might not have to kiss the Palm Woods School goodbye." Dani said, walking over to the other side of the desk beside Logan, taking the book, and flipping to a certain page. "I didn't tell you this, but this isn't just a list of teachers. It also has the rules every A.S.P.A. school needs to follow."
"I smell brain." Kendall grinned as he moved to lean against the desk in front of Logan, and Carlos and James stood on either side of him.
"Well, good luck with whatever you guys do!" Dani bids, handing the book over to Logan. "If you need me, I will be in the recording studio trying to write a song."
Dani quickly made her way out of the office and made herself a mug of cocoa before making her way to where Gustavo and Kelly were.
...
Dani was sitting on the black leather couch in the recording studio when James and Kendall came into the studio with their bags that were filled with clothes and just dumped them into the red drawers of the cabinets that were sitting on either side of Dani.
"Hey, Principal Rocque!" Kendall exclaimed as he and James waved at Gustavo with one hand, and in Kendall's other arm was the A.S.P.A. Official School Registry, before making their way out of the room. Not far behind them, Gustavo raced out of the room with Kelly and Dani right behind them.
"Hey! I hope there's a good reason why my control room is filled with your sweaty socks!" Gustavo screamed at the two boys.
"Well." Kendall started as he opened the book before reading from it. "A.S.P.A. rule 209 states that all students must have adequate storage for personal belongings."
"Which the School of Rocque has yet to provide." James pointed out.
"Oh, I don't like the sound of this." Kelly mutters.
Logan and Carlos came skipping down the hallway, both sending a smile and wave as they made their way into Gustavo's office, with Gustavo running right after them as the four followed behind.
"Hey!" Gustavo cried out as Logan and Carlos stopped hanging their things on his shelves and looked at him. "That shelf is for my awards!"
"You wouldn't want to be in violation of A.S.P.A. rules, would you?" Logan asks Gustavo.
"You could lose your business." Carlos points out.
"They're right." Kelly said, after taking the book from Kendall and reading it as the boys nodded in agreement.
"Find a place for the dogs to keep their smelly stuff. Which is not my office!" Gustavo tells them. "And where is your teacher?"
"Yeah, we told him A.S.P.A. ensures teachers five paid sick days and two personal days." James says as you could hear cheering from down the hall.
Dani and the boys made their way out of Gustavo's office, while Kelly and Gustavo stayed to look over the rules.
"So Dani." Kendall started as all the boys turned to the girl with big grins. "You wouldn't happen to know how to put together a basketball game in, let's say, fifteen minutes."
"Way ahead of you." Dani smiled back as a delivery man entered with a goat along with a box, followed by a fake basketball team. "A.S.P.A. also has the right to have a mascot, and I also got jerseys and shirts made. Meet your mascot Gus and opponents for today, the cast of Hopeless Housewives."
The boys cheered in victory.
...
The boys were in the hallway taking a water break, and Dani was standing with them in her School of Rocque spirit shirt.
Soon the group was joined by Gustavo and Kelly after the sound of the shot clock buzzed.
"You are familiar with the A.S.P.A.'s stance on interscholastic athletics, right?" Kendall asks as he leans against the water dispenser.
"Huh?" Gustavo asks, looking over at Kelly, causing her to nod in response.
"Did you see our goat?" Logan asks, pointing to the goat behind him. We call him Gus. Gus Tavo."
"Get it?" Carlos asks with a laugh as the scoreboard once again goes off as Dani and Kelly make their way over to the stands. Kelly is also in a School of Rocque spirit shirt as she holds the leash of the goat.
"Go, Goats!" Kelly cheers as Gustavo gives her a look from the door. "Hey, if you can't beat them, join them."
Gustavo walked onto the floor as the teams were doing jump ball and attempted to stop the game, only to be pushed on the floor and trampled by the players.
The boys and Dani made their way to Gustavo and pulled him off the ground after the final buzzer rang out.
"Sorry, Gustavo." Kendall says, giving him a sorry look. "We'll get them next time."
"Principal's Office Now!" Gustavo exclaimed as they all made their way to Gustavo's office for the third time in two days.
"I am the principal of this school. And I do not give into demands, and hooliganistic tactics don't scare me." Gustavo says, slamming down a wooden ruler. Sabotage? Shmoobotage." Gustavo says, waving around his wooden ruler. "You cannot beat me! Now, what you've done here cannot and will not go unpunished. Which is why I hereby expel you!"
"What does that mean?" James asked for clarification.
"It means you are kicked out of the School of Rocque." Dani explains, but the boys still looked confused. "It means you guys can go to the Palm Woods school, idiots."
The boys started cheering and hooting.
...
It was their first day at the Palm Woods School.
In class, Dani sat in front of Carlos, and beside Curly headed Jennifer. She was also happy that she didn't have to share a desk anymore.
"Okay, class, let's start with science," Ms. Collins announced, standing up from behind her desk. "Where we're going to talk about water displacement."
Before Dani had the chance to open her book, the boys started yelling from behind her, standing on their chairs, and pulling out water guns while Carlos had pie.
She groaned as she realized what their stupid fantasies about the Palm Woods school were about. The class started screaming, which caused the boys to stop and realize their fantasies weren't anything like the real school.
"This school was much more fun in our fantasies, wasn't it?" Carlos asks the other guys.
"Yup." The other three responded.
"Idiots." Dani groaned as she put her head on her desk.
It is a great way to start at a new school.
