big time party
Growing up, Dani was never a social butterfly, so she didn't really have friends. So she never did the things normal teenage girls did together-slumber parties, dances-and she certainly was never invited to a party.
The first time she ever went to a 'party' was for a classy event at Rocque Records with all the executives, which are people twice her age, so she never felt comfortable and always felt out of place. Even at the Palm Woods, Bitters had a strict rule that parties weren't allowed.
Dani was standing beside Kelly, looking over her checklist once again, but looked up when she noticed the boys walk into the studio.
"What's going on here?" Kendall asked, glancing around the room with the guys, but stopped when they made it to Gustavo, Dani, and Kelly.
"Please tell us it's a party!" Carlos and James exclaimed together.
"It is the Big Time Rush party, celebrating the making of your first album." Kelly announced, causing the boys to celebrate.
"No. You're not invited."
"What, why?" All five teens asked.
Dani was hoping the guys would be there, and she'd finally have some type of entertainment or even just friends to talk to.
"One, it's a classy party for executives only. Two, I don't need dogs around playing with their food." Gustavo replied, and Dani noticed James and Carlos walk away from the group towards the food table.
"We don't play with food." Kendall and Logan said.
"James and Carlos, turn around." Dani sighed.
Both boys turned around at the mention of their names, growling with carrot sticks hanging from their noses, while Carlos had what looked like greens or asparagus hanging from his mouth and James was holding up sushi rolls to his eyes.
"Wait, wait, wait, how can you have a Big Time Rush party without Big Time Rush?" Carlos asked, causing Dani to nod in agreement.
"You'll be here..." Kelly replied, letting out a fake laugh. "In spirit. Oh, and cut-out form!"
Gustavo motioned as two guys quickly carried in a giant cut-out of all four guys, placing it in the corner of the room.
"Why didn't I know about this?" Dani asked, looking over at her boss and co-worker.
"We knew you'd try and stop us." Kelly replied, causing the five teens to nod.
"Yeah, that's true."
"Well, we're staying." Kendall declared, causing the four boys to cross their arms.
"Fine!" Gustavo exclaimed as two guys dragged in a giant box with flashing lights that said SUPER PARTY FUN BOX. "Fine! You can stay, but do not go in my super party fun box."
As Dani expected, the four quickly pushed their way into the colorful box, causing the girl to shake her head.
"Idiots." Dani muttered, facepalming herself, watching as the guys who wheeled the box in wheeled it back out with the guys inside.
...
Dani was informed by Logan, who let her know that they were having a small 'get-together' in their apartment later that night; in other words, they were having a party.
Sadly. Dani couldn't attend the get-together, but she promised the nerdy hockey player she would try and swing by on her way out since Gustavo's party started a little later than the boy's.
Dani looked at herself in the mirror, smoothing her dress out, and debated whether it was good enough or not. She was wearing a long gold and black dress that had a low u-line and thin straps, along with a long slit up her leg. Along with that, she wore closed-toe heeled boots, with her hair curled and makeup done.
"You look great." Dani mumbled to herself, looking herself in the eye in the mirror, sending herself a smile before she set off from her apartment and across the hall.
Dani swiftly raised her hand, knocking on the door of 2J, and waited for an answer. She assumed no one heard her over the loud music and decided to just walk in.
As she walked in, she saw Kendall and Jo sitting over in the corner with Logan in the middle of them, Camille standing in the kitchen area looking confused, while Carlos and James were dancing in the living room with others, causing Dani to laugh while shaking her head.
"Dani!" Camille exclaimed, walking up to the girl and pulling her into a hug. "You look amazing."
"Thank You." Dani smiled as she felt her cheeks heat up. She was not used to compliments. "You look amazing as well."
Before Dani or Camille had the chance to say anything, a stampede of people came rushing into the apartment, some bumping into Dani, causing the girl to lose balance, but before she could hit the ground, someone was caught.
"Thanks." Dani says, looking down as she smoothes her dress out before looking up to see Carlos, causing the girl to smile at the boy. "Oh, hey Carlos."
"Hey Dani," Carlos said. "You look great."
"You really think so?" Dani asked, looking down at her dress before looking back up at the boy, causing him to nod quickly with a goofy grin on his face, causing her to smile. "Thank you."
"Would you like a drink or some snacks?" Carlos quickly asked, pointing towards the kitchen, causing the girl to shake her head.
"No thanks; I just stopped by before I headed to Rocque Records." Dani explained. "I told Logan I would stop by on my way over. It looks like everyone is enjoying themselves."
"Mhmm." Carlos mumbled, looking at the girl, but quickly snapped out of it when she looked over at him. "I mean, yeah! Me and James are the Hollywood Super Party Kings of Hollywood!"
"Did you just say Hollywood twice?" Dani asked, chuckling a bit.
"You bet he did!" James exclaimed, making his way over to the two, fist-bumping Carlos before finally noticing the blonde girl. "Dani! You look hot!"
"Why thank you, James." Dani said, smiling at the tall brunette before looking at the duo's matching outfits. "You both look great, very kingly."
"I'm still looking for a queen." James winked, wrapping his arm around the girl's shoulder.
"Still never going to happen, James." Dani chuckled, removing James' arm as a flustered Logan came running up to them.
"Hey, guys! Dani. Glad you could make it! I need to talk to you!" Logan exclaimed with a fake chuckle, grabbing the girl's hand and quickly dragging her over to the V.I.P. area that was now empty, making the two of them sit down on the couch.
"I have a huge problem!" Logan freaked out. "There are two girls at this party who are in love with me."
"That is a huge problem." Dani said with a fake shocked face, shaking her head and letting out a chuckle. "Why don't you just be honest with them? Talk to them. One of them you have to actually like and let the other one down gently, because they're both great girls."
"Yeah, they..." Logan started, stopping as he looked at the girl in shock. "Wait, how do you know who I'm talking about?"
"I mean, it's pretty obvious that it's Camille and Mercedes." Dani said, but before the boy had a chance to respond, he was cut off by Dani's phone. "That is my cue; I've got to go." Dani stood up, causing Logan to follow her action, standing as well. Dani placed her hands on his shoulders, looking him in the eyes. "You got this. Remember, honesty is key."
"You're right; I'm just going, to be honest. Thanks, Dani." Logan smiled before he rushed off, jumping over the rope and disappearing into the sea of people, causing the girl to chuckle as she shook her head.
Dani made her way from the V.I.P. area to the door, bumping into Kendall on her way out.
"Sorry," they both said, causing each other to laugh.
"Sorry about that." Kendall apologized, causing the girl to shake her head. "Glad to see you could make it; you're a little overdressed for a get-together, but you look great as always."
"Thanks; I try." Dani chuckled. "But I was actually on my way to Gustavo's party but wanted to make sure I stopped by."
"Right, the Big Time Rush party without Big Time Rush." Kendall said sarcastically, causing the two to chuckle. "How could I possibly forget?"
"I wish you guys were coming along; you guys make everything fun." Dani said, once again her phone going off. "Well, I got to go. Catch you later?"
"Yeah." Kendall nodded, causing the girl to send the boy one last smile.
"Alright, see ya, Kendork." Dani bid, racing out the door of Apartment 2J.
...
Bored was an understatement of how Dani felt as she stood in the corner beside Gustavo and Kelly beside the food table.
She felt like she could crawl into her bed and sleep the rest of the week away, with the depressing violin music playing as she yawned.
"Where is the exciting entertainment I told you to get?" Gustavo asked, leaning toward Kelly.
"The Russian acrobats canceled. They're at some amazing party everyone's talking about." Kelly explained, and before Dani had the chance to say anything, Griffin approached the group, playing a game on his phone.
"Ooh, that's too bad. Fujizaki loves his Russian acrobats." Griffin spoke, looking up from his phone, giving Gustavo a stern look before he looked back down at his as he walked away.
Gustavo and Kelly gasped at each other, quickly running away, causing Dani to stand there dumbstruck.
"This can't be good." Dani said, putting her hand on her forehead before Gustavo and Kelly came rushing back in in matching outfits. "Oh no."
Dani quickly moved to stand next to the door as she watched the duo walk around in a circle, acting as if they were 'Russian acrobats', screaming 'opa' every five seconds. The next thing she knew, she was watching Gustavo throw Kelly over the food table.
"That's got to hurt," Dani said, letting out a wince, causing the guy next to her to nod in agreement.
"I can't believe you work for this guy." Fujizaki spoke to the cutout of the boys, pointing at Gustavo as he went to pat 'Logan's' back, causing the entire cutout to fall over. Dani quickly covered her mouth as she quietly giggled. "These aren't even the real boys."
Dani let out a sigh as she took a seat at an empty table and laid her head on the table, listening to the violinist play depressing music.
"It's official." Gustavo said, causing the girl to jump in her seat, her head shooting up, to find Gustavo and Kelly sitting at the table back in their party attire. "I threw the worst party ever."
"It's not that bad."
The sound of Fujizaki snoring in the corner filled the room.
"That's it. I was wrong." Gustavo confessed, picking up his phone from the table. "I'm calling the dogs, so they can liven things up."
"Yeah, they probably won't answer you." Dani announced, causing the duo to look at her strangely as Gustavo's phone went straight to voicemail. "They were having a 'get-together' but, knowing them, something went wrong."
Dani quickly pulled out her phone, dialing Carlos' number, placing it on speaker as he picked up after the second ring.
"Hollywood Super Party Kings of Hollywood!" Carlos exclaimed through the phone over the loud music. "Party King Carlos speaking."
"Carlos!" Gustavo yelled into the girl's phone. "Get the boys over here now!"
"No can do, Gustavo! We're having the greatest party of our lives!"
The sounds of loud cheering and screaming came from the other side of Dani's phone as she heard Carlos mention something about Russian acrobats. The next thing she knew, he had hung up.
"So are they coming?" Kelly asked with hope.
"Not a chance." Dani chuckled, laying her head back on the table with a plop.
"I think we just found out where the amazing party is." Gustavo stated, causing the girl to quickly lift her head and look at him.
"Listen Up!" Kelly exclaimed, standing up from her seat and cuffing her hands around her mouth, gaining everyone's attention. "Everybody on the party bus. We're heading to the Palm Woods!"
Dani had never seen executives recklessly pushing each other to get out of the room so quickly.
"You sure know how to clear a room." Dani joked as she stood from her seat, following the stampede of executives to the Palm Woods.
....
Dani found herself sitting beside the fire alone as she watched everyone dance, slightly chuckling as she watched Gustavo and Kelly do the robot, until a sad Logan decided to join her.
"Hey," Logan greeted, sending the girl a slight smile.
"I'm guessing things didn't go well with either Camille or Mercedes."
"I messed up big time," Logan sighed, shaking his head. "I guess that's what I get for listening to Carlos and James."
"You listened to Carlos and James?" Dani asked in disbelief, causing the sad boy to nod. "That's your first problem there; you should have gone to Kendall. No wonder you're in the dog house."
"I just thought that, if I had a date with both of them, I would get to know them both better," Logan explained, causing Dani to nod. "I just didn't know who I liked, and now I'm sure neither of them will talk to me again."
"Hey, never say never."
"I hope you're happy, Logan, because my heart is shattered, and I will never love again!" Mercedes exclaimed, fake crying, as Dani noticed Guitar Dude approaching the fire from behind Logan. "Hey, you're cute. You're my new boyfriend."
"Cool!" Guitar Dude replied, nodding his head as Mercedes quickly dragged him away.
"Okay." Dani said, chuckling, watching the two walk off, one walking and the other being dragged.
Dani noticed a blue towel thrown on Logan's head as she noticed Camille approaching, causing Dani to send the girl a smile.
Logan pulled the towel off his head as an upset Camille stopped in front of him with her arms crossed.
"I'm really sorry." Logan apologized, his face reading nothing but sincere. "I was a jerk. You're really mad at me, right?"
"Oh, big time." In fact, I've decided that I'm not talking to you for one whole week." Camille stated, causing Logan to nod, dropping his head. "But we can still dance."
"You're really cool. You know that." Logan smiled, standing up from his spot.
"Shh," Camille said, placing her finger on his lips. "No talking."
Camille then grabbed his hand, dragging him to the dancing crowd, causing Dani to chuckle at the duo.
Dani couldn't help but smile as she watched her friends have the time of their lives; Camille and Logan were dancing around the pool together, Kendall and Jo were standing together near the bushes dancing, and Carlos and James sat on what looked like thrones as they danced in their seats. She even chuckled a bit as she watched Gustavo, Kelly, Griffin, and his assistant dancing poolside. Dani couldn't have asked for a better group of friends.
