big time moms

Mother's Day is a holiday that Dani hasn't been able to celebrate since she left Colorado.

Of course Dani loved her mom more than she'll ever know; she even sends her little notes and gifts every year, even though her mother never writes back, and she's made peace with it.

But this year was different; she had Mama Knight in her life, who has taken on the role of the motherly figure she didn't know she missed having.

So when the four boys came to her wanting help with a gift for Mama Knight, she automatically jumped on board. No matter how silly the suggestions were, it was the thought of including the girl that mattered most to her.

...

"Happy Mother's Day!" The five teens exclaimed, standing inside an inflated bounce house that stood in the center of the boy's apartment, as Mama Knight came into view holding a laundry basket.

"Here's your gift." Kendall said, gesturing toward the bounce house that held the five jumping teens.

"Are you surprised?" Carlos asked excitedly.

"Yes, because Mother's Day isn't until tomorrow." Mama Knight replied, standing there in shock.

"Well, there was a two-day for one special." Logan explained.

"Smart shopping, isn't it great?" James exclaimed.

"I was really just hoping for some peace and quiet!" Mama Knight informed the teens, causing the five teens to quickly stop as the four boys fell to the ground like wounded puppies.

"You don't like your present?" Carlos asked, sounding hurt.

"I knew this was a bad idea," Dani said.

"No... I love it." Mama Knight quickly smiled, causing the boys to cheer as they got back up, as she quickly joined the five teens in the bounce house.

"Mom, you spread fun wherever you go." Kendall stated, pointing at his mom.

"And love!" Dani added, smiling at the older women.

"James!" An unfamiliar woman to the Jenning's girl called out, causing everyone to quickly stop.

"Mom?"

The deflating sound filled the air as the bounce house began quickly sinking in, causing everyone to topple over.

The group quickly escaped the inflatable as they approached the Diamond woman.

"Mom, what are you doing here?" James asked.

"I came for my mother's day present." Ms. Diamond replied, marching her way towards the group with a grin on her face.

"But I mailed it three days ago." James informed the woman, as a smile quickly formed. "It's slippers that massage your feet when you walk."

That caused the other three boys to let out an ooo, making Dani chuckle.

"Wrong! My gift is you coming back with me to be the face and future CEO of Brooke Diamond Cosmetics." Ms. Diamond announced, causing everyone to go quiet as she gave James a kiss on the cheek. "Oh. He's frozen with excitement."

"Did you say you were taking him home?" Kendall questioned, leaning into the Diamond boy.

"To Minnesota?" The other three teens exclaimed.

"Tonight." Ms. Diamond announced, smiling at the group. "I'll go pack his things."

"James." Kendall called, shaking the boy as Carlos waved his hand in his face.

"Hey, James." Dani said, shaking his arm, but the boy was still frozen in place, causing the girl to sigh. "Get him to the studio."

The three boys quickly picked him up before the group rushed out the door to Roqcue Records.

...

The four teens stood behind Gustavo and Kelly in the control room, watching James stand still in the dance studio.

"Okay, he's honestly starting to freak me out." Dani confessed, making the others nod in agreement.

"It's for these occasions that I've kept such a great friendship with heavy metal's top mom, Leta Ford." Gustavo said, pointing to the woman standing in the recording booth with her guitar hanging around her body.

She quickly turned the volume all the way up on her guitar amp, causing the group to plug their ears, and with one strum, the Diamond boy was sent back into the pile of bean bags, snapping him out of his frozen state.

The four teens, Gustavo and Kelly, quickly rushed through the recording booth, thanking the rocker mom before racing towards James, helping him up.

"Okay, what's going on?" Gustavo demanded answers, looking at the group in front of them.

"My mom -- my mom -- my mom."

"James' mom is here trying to take him back to Minnesota so he can take over his family's super cool cosmetics company." Dani explained.

"His mom owns a cosmetics business?" Kelly asked.

"She is considered the Estee Lauder of the Midwest." Kendall explained, showing them the magazine that had a picture of the boy's mom posing for her cosmetic line.

"She's part powerful, part beautiful, and all terrifying." Carlos shuddered.

"Well, James is a part of Big Time Rush, so you go back to the Palm Woods and just tell her no." Gustavo ordered, causing the four boys to gasp loudly.

"No? You don't tell my mom no." James announced.

"You just don't do it," Logan said.

The group shared a look of horror.

"It was the day of the dance, and I took my date to meet my mom; she didn't like her, so I dropped her." James explained.

"She didn't like my real name and changed it to Logan?" Logan added.

"What's your actual name?" Dani asked, raising her eyebrow.

"Hortense." Logan admitted, causing a smirk to appear on the Jennings girl's face. The boy quickly held his hand up. "Say nothing!"

"She made us take ballet instead of snowboarding," Kendall said.

"I always wanted to learn how to pirouette." Carlos admitted.

"Well, she was definitely right about your name, Hortense." Dani said, patting the boy's arm, causing him to sway at her, causing her to chuckle.

"Luckily, I am not a wimp like you dogs. So I'll tell James' mom that you aren't leaving LA or Big Time Rush." Gustavo declared, quickly turning to leave, with Dani and Kelly following after him as the boys chased after them, trying to warning the man.

...

"Oh no, she got my mom!" Kendall cried as the sound of Mama Knight's screams came from inside the apartment, where the group was crowded outside.

"She's so taking me home!"

"Your mommy is not taking you anywhere. Because I am the big daddy and I have James' contract, which she signed!" Gustavo declared, swinging the door of the apartment open. "Ms. Diamond, I need to speak with you. Behind closed doors."

The door slammed closed behind him, causing Dani to turn to the boys. "How long do you think he has before she hurts him?"

Not ever 30 seconds later, the producer came stumbling out of the apartment with the contract shoved in his mouth, his vest torn and his glasses broken.

Kelly went and pulled the contract from Gustavo's mouth, causing the man to topple over onto the floor.

"Well, it's been nice knowing ya, James." Dani bid, patting the boy on the shoulder.

The team regrouped at Rocque Records after Kelly brought Gustavo back to his normal state.

"All moms really want is for their kids to be happy, right?" Kelly questioned.

"Well," Dani dragged out. "Some more than others, but she's right."

"All we have to do is prove to mom how happy I am being in Big Time Rush." James proclaimed.

"And how do we do that?" Gustavo exclaimed.

"By giving her the greatest Mother's Day gift of all time." Kendall said.

"A bounce house." Carlos exclaimed excitedly.

"Peace and quiet?" James questioned.

"How about a song?" Dani suggested, causing the Knight boy to snap his fingers, pointing at the girl.

"Exactly! But not just any song." Kendall said, standing up from his seat. "The Mom song."

"Yes. I'll write an amazing Mother's Day song. James' mother will fall in love with the song." Gustavo declared.

"She'll cry, realize she's being selfish and that James belongs in BTR and not the family cosmetics company." Logan added, standing up from the couch.

"The song starts slow on the piano." Gustavo spoke, quickly walking away, causing the group to follow after him.

After a few hours of prepping, the group invited Brooke Diamond to the studio to hear the song, and Dani actually got to formally meet the woman that one of her best friends called mom.

Mom, here's a song that's just for you
A card that says thanks for all that you do
You know you're so special in so many ways
And now that you're here we'd just like to say...

Thank you for all of the love you give me
It stays inside and forever lives with me
And thank you, mom for the little things that you do

You wipe my nose and bleach all of my white clothes
Thank you for all of the hugs and kisses
You're better than a fairy at granting wishes
Like making soup just appear and oatmeal cookies too

You have the power to make us take a shower
So don't forget your mom on her special day
Pick her up some flowers, put your toys away
And make her a card or knit her a scarf
She wipes off our tears
And cleans up our barf
(And cleans up our barf)

Thank you for all of the love you give me
It stays inside and forever lives with me
And thanks again for the little things that you do

You sew our buttons and toast us English muffins
You know just what to say to make nightmares go away
A personal physician who picks up our prescriptions
And you love us when we're wrong.
That's why we sing the "We Love You, Mom" song

Ms. Diamond wordlessly got up from her seat with a big smile on her face as she raced towards her son with open arms.

"That was the greatest Mother's Day gift I have ever gotten." Ms. Diamond gushed, cupping the boy's cheeks, causing everyone to smile.

"So you'll let me stay?" James grinned.

"No." Ms. Diamond said, letting out a sob, causing everyone's smiles to quickly drop.

"But you're crying." Kelly exclaimed.

"Oh." Ms. Diamond said, quickly stopping on que as she pulled out a tube of her product. "I applied Brooke Diamond revitalizing eye cream before I came here today. The burning means it's working. Go get your things. Our flight leaves at five."

Dani watched the woman blankly as she walked out of the studio with no emotion or care, causing her heart to break for the boy.

"Is it bad that I love your mom?" Dani questioned, turning her attention back to the group, causing the boys to give her a serious look. "Right, sorry."

...

"My son's lucky comb and toothbrush are now packed and ready to go in his suitcase." Brooke Diamond happily announced, sending Mama Knight a smile before she headed back to the boy's bedroom to finish packing his things, passing the five sad teens on her way.

"I'm sorry, guys." Mama Knight told the group with a sad smile.

"Help us!" The four boys exclaimed from the bounce house.

"I can't go up against Brooke. She scares me." Mama Knight quietly admitted. "But James can."

"No, James can't!"

"She's right. James, there's going to come a time in every person's life where they're going to have to stand up to their mom at least once. I know I definitely did. If you are truly passionate about this band, your mom will understand." Dani spoke from her spot at the island.

"I couldn't have said it better myself." Mama Knight said, wrapping an arm around the Jenning's girl and pulling her into a side hug as she looked back at the boys. "Your mom will see it in your eyes. And will do what's best for you, not her. It's what moms do."

"She's right." Kendall agreed.

"Mom's know best." Carlos stated, holding onto James' shoulders.

"You have the power to tell your mom no." Logan encouraged the boy, pulling him closer to him before letting him go.

"I can do this." James said, nodding his head, causing his friends to cheer him on as he walked forward. "BTR means way more to me than cosmetics. I'm going to tell my mom no!"

The group cheered the boy on as he marched away towards the direction of his room, where he knew his mom would be.

The group quickly grew quiet as the boy came back side by side with his mom, bunched up in a coat and scarf with a fake smile on his face.

"Well, it's been fun. Now I'm off to Minnesota." James announced, speaking through his forced smile.

The sound of hissing filled the room as the bounce house once again began to deflate.

The group watched James walk sadly out of the apartment with his mom, causing the four teens to quickly run out after them, watching them walk down the hallway towards the elevator.

"We need a plan!" Carlos cried out.

"Run!" Kendall yelled, pushing the others towards the stairs, causing them to quickly race down them and through the lobby to the front of the Palm Woods, where they easily spotted the car waiting for James and his mom.

"We need to find a better plan than to run!" Logan snapped.

Dani quickly looked around before spotting what looked like a mother-and-son duo waiting for the shuttle.

"Get the door." Dani ordered, hitting Logan's arm as she nodded in the direction of the car, causing Carlos and Kendall to quickly follow after her as she approached the duo with a warm smile. "Hi guys, sorry to bother you. I couldn't help but notice you guys waiting for the shuttle. We'll we're the Diamonds, and our flight got canceled, so we don't need our car, and we insist you take it instead of waiting for that slow old shuttle."

Kendall and Carlos quickly caught on, reaching for their luggage as Dani led them to the car that Logan was holding the door for.

"Have a nice trip." Dani waved, sending them another smile before Logan closed the door as Kendall quickly moved to the passenger seat window.

"Take extra care of the Diamonds." Kendall spoke to the driver. "They're selective mutes, and they're late for their flights, so punch it."

The tires screeched as the driver quickly sped off, causing the group to cheer in celebration but quickly stopping as they turned around, coming face-to-face with the actual Diamonds.

"We tried to stop them, but they just took your limo." Kendall lied.

"Yeah, the nerve of some people." Carlos exclaimed.

"Guess that means you're going to miss your flight." Logan said.

"Oh, darn it!" James shouted.

"What a shame." Dani added, shaking her head.

"It's nice to see L.A. hasn't changed you boys. But I haven't changed either, and I always get what I want." Brooke snapped at the teens, quickly pulling out her phone. "Sarah, get me and my son on the first flight to Minnesota tomorrow. And get him 10 business suits, 20 power ties, and a pair of size 11 tasseled loafers." She hissed every word as she stepped closer to the four teens before turning back to see James in a frozen state again. "Ugh! He's frozen again. Be darlings and unfreeze him for me. Thank you."

She sent the group an air kiss before quickly turning around and marching back into the Palm Woods.

...

Lita Ford once again knocked James out of his trance with one strum, sending him back into the bean bags once again.

"It's no use! She's the most powerful mom in the universe." James cried.

"Why can't your dad just talk her into letting you stay?" Kelly questioned the boy.

"They don't talk anymore since the divorce." James explained. "And since Dad remarried a woman 15 years younger."

"Well, I don't blame her!" Kelly exclaimed, causing the group to jump at her sudden outburst.

"You mean no one has ever defeated your mother? Ever?" Gustavo asked.

"Well, there was this one time. My mom didn't get her way." James said quietly, causing everyone to quickly turn to him in interest. "But dad and I were told to never speak about it... ever."

"Well, what was it? You have to tell us."

"We don't want to lose you, James." Carlos cried, wrapping his arms tightly around the boy.

"We promised to save it for the grave." James gasped for air as Carlos squeezed him to death.

"We have to save the band!" Logan snapped, pulling Carlos away from the boy.

"It was the peewee hockey party." James began. "My mom ordered sushi platters and reserved a string quartet. The other moms wanted beans, weenies, and a bounce house."

"That was the best party ever." Carlos gasped, reminiscing.

"Kendall's, Logan's, and Carlos' moms came over. There was yelling and tears. My dad hid behind the flat screen. I've never seen mom so angry." James shuddered. "But the other moms held their ground."

"That actually makes perfect sense." Dani spoke. "You can't defeat a mom one-on-one; she's too powerful. But a mom vs. mom's; that's basically a death wish."

"Kelly! Get my frequent flier miles and get the other moms here by the morning." Gustavo demanded, causing Carlos and Logan to share a smile. "This is going to be a Mother's Day we will never forget."

...

The next morning, Dani was putting the gift she got for Mama Knight carefully into a bag when the sound of knocking was heard at the door.

"I told you guys I'd meet you in the lobby at..." Dani trailed off, opening the door, coming face-to-face with the last person she would have expected. "Mom."

"Hi, Dani." Debbie Jennings softly spoke, sending her daughter a soft smile. "May I come in?"

"Uh, yeah, sure." Dani said, stepping out of the way, holding the door open wider, and letting her mom walk past her before slowly closing it behind her. "What are you doing out here in LA? Where's Luca?"

"He's with Nana." Debbie replied, glancing around the decorated apartment. "And I came to see you."

"Why?" Dani snapped, causing it to come out harsher than she meant, causing her mom to turn and look at her. "I mean, I've been here for how long, and you're just now coming to visit. Mom, we haven't spoken since I left Colorado. I tried, and I mean really tried, with the phone calls and the letters, and the gift. Everything I tried, you just ignored me."

"I was giving you the space to live the life you wanted. I knew you were mature enough to take care of yourself, and I didn't worry too much because I knew you would be in good hands with the Avery's." Debbie explained as she took a seat on the girl's couch. "Now that I think about it, I sound like such a bad mom. I mean, who sends their teenage daughter across the country on her own?"

"You were far from a bad mom." Dani said, slowly taking a seat beside her mom. "I mean, have you made some bad choices? Yeah, I mean, who hasn't? But you've given me and Luca so much in life that I could never repay you for those moments and experiences."

"When did you become so wise?" Debbie teased, tapping the girl's leg, causing both of them to let out a light chuckle.

"Let's just say I had a little bit of growing up to do." Dani spoke, sending her mom a light smile. "How have you been, mom?"

"I can't lie, but I've been better." Debbie admitted, nodding her head with a faint smile as she looked down. "There's something that I've been wanting to tell you, but writing it down in a letter would be too hard."

"Mom, what's going on?" Dani asked, concerned, grabbing onto her mom's hand.

"I have breast cancer." Debbie announced, causing Dani to let out a gasp. "And before you worry too much, my doctor said it's very curable. I have a lumpectomy scheduled for the end of the week."

"Are you okay? Does Luca know?"

"Honey, I'm fine; I promise, I'm just a little tired. Yes, your brother knows." Debbie said, nodding her head. "Him and Nana have been very helpful."

"Well, what can I do to help?" Dani asked.

"Well, I will be in the hospital for a few days after my surgery." Debbie explained, causing the girl to nod. "Nana wants to be there with me, and I don't want Luca to have to be up there with me the entire time."

"And you were wondering if he could come and stay with me again?" Dani questioned.

"Or you can come home with me." Debbie suggested, causing Dani to look down. "It would only be for a few weeks. Until I can get back on my feet. I don't want Luca to miss multiple days of school."

"Okay." Dani agreed, nodding her head. "I'll go home with you until you get better."

"Really sweetie?" Debbie smiled. "That would help a lot."

"When's your flight back home?" Dani asked.

"Tonight. It was the only day that wasn't sold out for the next 3 days." Debbie explained. "I need to get back home so I can get ready for surgery."

"Okay, well, I'm supposed to meet up with some friends for a bit, but feel free to hang around here until I get back." Dani said. "There's a guest room through that door if you want to take a nap. Take anything you want from the fridge or pantry."

"I'll be fine. Go." Debbie chuckled, shooing the girl away with her hand, causing her to laugh.

"I love you, mom." Dani sighed, wrapping her arms around the woman and pulling her into a tight and very needed hug.

"I love you too, bug." Debbie spoke, placing a kiss on the side of the girl's head.

Dani heard the sound of loud voices booming and people running outside of her apartment, causing her to chuckle as she slowly pulled away from her mom.

"That's my cue; I'll be back soon." Dani said, giving her mom's hand one last squeeze before making her way across the hall through the opened door.

"What did I miss?" Dani questioned, causing the group to look over at the girl, who was looking at the door that was lying on the ground.

"We're taking a different approach." Kendall announced.

"The nice way!" the four boys said.

"Nice." Dani smiled, causing the boy to chuckle.

"Oh, Dani, come meet my mom!" Carlos gasped, grabbing the girl's arm and pulling her to the front of the group, stopping in front of the three women dressed in all black.

"Syliva, Johanna, this is Dani. The boys somehow pulled her into their crazy shenanigans." Mama Knight introduced the girl, causing the boys to gasp.

"Oh, you poor thing." Johanna said, placing her hands on the girl's face as smile grew before pulling the girl into a tight hug.

"We've heard so much about you from our boys." Sylvia confessed, pulling the girl into a tight hug next.

"Good things, I hope."

"Great things." Mama Knight assured her, sending the girl a smile as she stepped back in between the boys.

"Jen, you were right. She's a perfect fit." Johanna stated, nodding along with Sylvia, causing Dani to chuckle as Kendall and Carlos wrapped their arms around the girl.

...

This was their final chance to convince Brooke Diamond that James belonged in Los Angeles with Big Time Rush and not in Minnesota.

The group stood facing the mother-and-son duo as they were ready to head to the airport.

"Brooke, before you take James to the airport, just hear us out." Mama Knight softly spoke, approaching the woman.

"My mom hooked up the entire apartment with a T-1 line and set up all the computers with facetalk." Carlos said, handing the Diamond woman the laptop before rushing to the other with James.

"And I can set it up on your phone so you can see your son anytime you want." Syliva explained before pushing the key on the computer, causing Carlos and James' faces to appear on the screen.

Next were Logan and his mom, Johanna, the real estate agent.

"My mom, the real estate super agent, found a spot for you to open a west coast office."

"It's a total write-off. But more importantly, it'll give you an excuse to come visit James once a month." Johanna announced, handing over a Manila folder, causing Brooke to look impressed.

"And I've learned enough about being a stage mom to know that Gustavo will book more BTR dates in the midwest." Mama Knight declared, joining the powerful woman.

"So you can see James and us sing even more." Kendall smiled.

"Well, I did love hearing you boys sing." Brooke admitted as a smile grew on her face.

"What?!" Gustavo snapped. "I will not be told to book more dates!"

"What?!"

"Uh, Kelly, please book, uh, book a date for the boys in Minnesota as soon as possible. Thank you." Gustavo quavered, shrinking back as his voice got quieter.

"Gotta love the power of moms." Dani chuckled, smiling at the four women, causing them to send her one back.

The four teens quickly pushed James forward, causing him to come face-to-face with his own mother.

"So you don't want to come back to Minnesota and work for the company?" Ms. Diamond questioned.

Everyone leaned forward, waiting for the boy's answer as the room grew quiet.

"No."

"Well, my son is happy; I can see him whenever I want. This is the best Mother's Day present ever." Brooke declared, happily pulling her son into a hug, causing everyone to go quiet as Katie walked through the door with a blaster.

"Long story."

"This is a great Mother's Day." Mama Knight admitted. "And only one thing can make it better."

"We know, we know." Kendall said.

"Peace and quiet." The boys spoke.

The room became dead silent, causing everyone to look around at each other awkwardly.

"Too quiet!'

"I like our crazy boys." Sylvia gushed.

"Let's make some noise." Brooke cheered, smiling from ear to ear, causing everyone to cheer.

"Knock knock." Debbie spoke into the open door, gaining everyone's attention.

"Hey, is everything okay?" Dani asked, making her way past the four boys and approaching her mom.

"Sweetie, everything's fine." Debbie chuckled lightly, placing her hand on the girl's cheek with a small smile. "I just wanted to let you know that I contacted the airport and my flight was booked up, so I couldn't get you a spot, but she did tell me the flight before had two free spots, so I just switched. I hope that's okay with you."

"No, that's fine." Dani said, nodding her head. "When is it?"

"Uh, 2 hours. It's not too short notice, is it?"

"No, it's perfect. Just let me go pack." Dani explained.

The sound of coughing from behind the duo caught their attention, making them turn to face the boys as they sent a small smile.

"Who are these lovely people, Dani?" Debbie asked, glancing over at her daughter as she sent the group a smile.

"These are my best friends: Carlos, James, Logan, and Kendall. That's Kendall's sister, Katie, and their lovely mothers." Dani introduced them, causing them to wave at their acknowledgement. "Then that's my boss, Gustavo, and Kelly."

"It's lovely to meet all of you. Dani has spoken very highly of you all in her letters." Debbie smiled at the group before turning her attention to Gustavo as she held her hand out to the man. "Gustavo Rocque, is it?"

"That I am." Gustavo confirmed, shaking the woman's hand firmly. "And who may you be?"

"Debbie. Debbie Jennings." Debbie said, causing the four boys to share a look.

"This is my mom." Dani announced, sharing a smile with the woman.

"It's nice to meet you, Ms. Jennings." Kelly greeted her, stepping up and shaking the woman's hand. "Kelly Wainwright. May I just say you have such an amazing daughter? She has a real talent."

"Yeah, she does. I've just recently figured that out myself." Debbie admitted, wrapping her arm around the girl's shoulder with a smile before looking around at the others. "I can admit that I haven't been the best mother these past few years for my daughter, but you all have been there when I should have, so thank you so much."

"Hey, she's a part of the family." Mama Knight said, waving the woman off, causing Dani to grin at the older Knight. "You are now too."

"Ms. Knight?" Debbie questioned, smiling from ear to ear, causing Jennifer Knight to nod, causing Debbie to step forward, wrapping her arms around the woman. "Thank you."

Dani smiled at the sight of the duo as the boys walked up beside the girl.

"That's your mom?" James asked, causing the girl to nod.

"She seems nice." Carlos said, sending the girl a smile.

"Yeah, she is." Dani smiled.

"Dani, are you ready to go?" Debbie asked, looking back at the teens after speaking to the four moms.

"Yeah, let me go pack." Dani said, nodding her head as she smiled at her mom.

"Pack?" Carlos questioned, causing the girl to finally look over at the boys, noticing their confused looks.

"Yeah." Dani said, slowly smiling lightly at the boy. "My mom wants me to go back home with her."

"As in Colorado?!" Logan exclaimed, causing the girl to nod. "You can't leave! We just got James to stay; we can help you too."

"Guys, I don't need help." Dani chuckled lightly. "I told her I wanted to go with her. There are some things me and my mom need to talk about. I want to do this. I need to do this."

"How long will you be gone?" Kendall asked, causing Dani to look over, locking eyes with the Knight boy.

"I'm not sure. Maybe 2 or 3 weeks." Dani answered.

"Okay." Kendall nodded, seeing the pleading girl's eyes, causing a small smile to grow on the girl's face.

"Okay!"

"Guys, Dani's told us the stories about her and her mom. She wants to patch up their relationship." Kendall explained, causing the boys to cross their arms. "How would you guys feel if you didn't talk to your moms in over 2 years?"

"Take as much time as you need!"

"Enjoy Colorado!"

"Make sure you send us a letter!"

"Thanks guys." Dani said, letting out a chuckle as the three boys sent the blonde girl a smile before walking away towards their mom's, leaving the Jennings girl with the Knight boy.

"So I guess this is goodbye." Kendall spoke, smiling down at the girl.

"Don't think you're getting rid of me that easily, Knight." Dani smirked. "I think of it more as a see you soon."

"See you soon, Danisuars."

"See you soon, Kendork." Dani said, smiling at the boy before taking a step forward, standing on her tippy toes, and placing a soft kiss on the boy's cheek.

As she pulled away, their eyes locked, causing her to send him one last smile before turning and walking away as she wrapped her arm around her mom's waist as the Jennings duo made their way out of apartment 2J.

"Dude, what was that?" James questioned, putting his hand on Kendall's shoulder as the three boys walked back over to their blonde friend.

"I'm not sure." Kendall admitted, looking at the door where Dani once stood as a small smile stayed on the boy's face.

...
