1.10; party
Emily hadn't ever been to a party.
The Palm Woods has a strict rule, and all Gustavo throws are boring, classy parties for investors. Except for a massive pillow fight the boys organized in the lobby.
Like tonight.
She stood on the couch in the studio, fixing a large print of the bands name.
Harsh skids made her turn to see the boys had just run in, gaping at all the white table cloths and arrangements. She jumped off the couch.
"What's going on?" Kendall asked.
"Please tell us it's a party!" James and Carlos said together.
Kelly smiled, "It is the Big Time Rush party celebrating the making the making of your first album!"
Seeing the boys breaking out in celebration, Gustavo shook his head, "No. You're not invited."
The boys groaned, asking why.
"One, it's a classy party for executives only. Two, I don't need dogs around playing with their food," The man said, making Emily roll her eyes, wishing for once the boys would prove him wrong.
Logan and Kendall scoffed, "We don't play with food."
"James, Carlos, turn around," Emily said.
The two boys turned around from the food table, growling. Carlos shoved a carrot stick up each nostril and had greens hanging from his mouth. James had one carrot up his nose, and used sushi rolls for eyes.
Carlos spit everything out, as James shamefully, took his costume apart.
"Wait, wait, wait. How can you have a Big Time Rush party without Big Time Rush?"
"You'll be here in spirit," Kelly assured them.
"And in cut-out form!" Emily exclaimed, hoping they would get excited about seeing themselves in cut-out.
"Well, we're staying," Kendall said, crossing his arms, all boys following suit.
"Fine," Gustavo snapped.
"Fine," the boys shrugged.
"Fine! You can stay," He said, walking over to a large box being wheeled in, resembling something from a carnival. "But do not go in my super party fun box."
Knowing it was a trick and the boys were about to get in the box the second they all left, Emily couldn't bare to upset her boss, or stick around to see the boys fall for it.

Emily received a text a few hours after the boys were wheeled out in the box.
"You're invited to the Big Time Rush get-together tonight!"
It was from James, with no context. So she went to Logan and got more details. They found a way around the party rule and each invited a few guests.
Emily was obligated to be at the party at Rocque Records, and had spent all afternoon getting ready. As badly as she wanted to hang out with everyone, she couldn't. She told Logan she'd stop by for a few minutes on her way out.
Emily's blonde hair was slightly curled, the front pieces pinned back. She wore a dark blue silk cocktail dress, cutting off at mid-thigh, with small, think straps on her shoulders and tall black heels.
Knocking on the door of 2J, she could hear music from the other side, assuming people already arrived.
The door swung open. Carlos, dressed in an orange, leopard print jacket, and James, identical, but purple. The boys greeted their guest with smug smiles, knowing they were the party kings, but their jaws dropping at the sight of the girl on the other side.
"Hi, sorry, I can't stay, I just wanted to stop by and say I was here," She told the boys, a sorry look.
"Oh my god," Carlos mumbled, stepping back for the girl to enter.
James, not taking his eyes off her, shut the door, walking up behind her, gaping in surprise with Carlos.
"Em-Emily, you look amazing," James told her, shuttering.
She turned, "Thank you," smiling at him. "Where are the others?"
Carlos nodded towards to corner by the slide, "Well Kendall and Jo are in the VIP area."
"And Logan is obviously flustered," James commented, making Emily's head turn to the kitchen, seeing Camille heavily flirting with him.
"Camille means well," Emily defended, seeing her pulled Logan close and dip him down.
"So that's not normal?" Carlos asked, sarcastically.
Emily stiffed a laugh, looking over the boys outfits. "So, what am I looking at here? Tarzan meets the Queen?"
Carlos fake laughed as James rolled his eyes. "We're the Hollywood Super Party Kings of Hollywood," Carlos explained, popping his collar.
Smirking, James put his arm around Emily, "I'm in the market for a Queen."
Emily picked James' arm off her shoulder and unwrapped herself, "Oh, wow, look at the time. I should get going," She said, walking towards the door, spinning on her heel to face them. "But great work," she said, amused at the decorative LED lights tracing the crown moldings of the apartment.
The boys waved goodbye as Emily shut the door and walked down the hallway, away from the super party.

Emily was so bored she considered striking up conversation with the cut-out.
Tranquil classical music played, no one was interacting, and Emily could only feel shameful for filling her boredom with all the California rolls on the table.
Seeing Gustavo and Kelly stressed out, Emily slinked over.
"What's going on?" She asked as Gustavo walked away.
"Griffin hates the party," Kelly said, furiously punching in numbers on her phone.
"You can't be surprised. Griffin's kinda weird, of course he isn't going to go for a traditional, classy, executive party, especially not for a band like BTR."
Kelly, exasperated, shrugged, walking off with the phone held to her ear.
Emily stared off, wondering how the non-party was going. Kendall and Jo were probably crushing all over each other. Logan possibly could be running from Camille. And she couldn't imagine what Carlos and James had done.
As Emily dipped a strawberry through the chocolate fountain, people began yawning, falling asleep, and crashing to the floor in exhaustion. Gustavo turned to Kelly, "Where is the exciting entertainment I told you to get?"
Exasperated and stressed, "The Russian acrobats cancelled. They're at some amazing party everybody's talking about," Kelly responded, as Emily stuffed her mouth.
"Ooh, that's too bad," Gustavo hummed, passing by the three, playing a game on his phone. "Fujizaki loves his Russian acrobats."
Kelly and Gustavo gasped in unison, giving each other a knowing look. Emily's eyebrows stitched together, "What?" She asked, uneasy.
Minutes later, her superiors were dressed in supposedly traditional Russian garments, screaming "Opa," clapping, and humiliating themselves.
Kelly did a cartwheel.
Gustavo tried and kicked a table over.
Nonetheless, through cringing, Emily took notice of the enjoyment Fujizaki got from the performance.
Kelly began stacking chairs on one another, Gustavo stepped forward with the last chair, forcefully placed it on top, the tower falling onto a man.
Kelly and Gustavo then locked hands, spinning in a tight circle. Speeding up, the two began screaming before Kelly flew off towards the food table and wall. Emily's eyes widened, ducking, and hearing a crash behind her. She slowly straightened herself, seeing Kelly pop up, only to collapse again.
Gustavo turned sheepishly, "Opa?"
"I can't believe you work for this guy," Fujizaki muttered to the cut-out of the boys, slightly tapping it, the cardboard falling. "These aren't even the real boys."
Sighing, Emily turned back to her chocolate fountain, seeing it was lost in the disaster that was Kelly and Gustavo's act. She threw her wooden pick down, and ran her hands through her hair, praying the night would end.

The newest form of entertainment was an old Dutchman making molasses in a cauldron.
Gustavo and Kelly sulked in boredom at their own table in the corner, and Emily slept on Kelly's shoulder.
"It's official. I threw the worst party ever," the man said.
"It's not that bad," Kelly said, trying to make him feel better.
Ignoring her comment, he threw his hands up, "That's it. I was wrong. I'm calling the dogs so they can liven things up."
Eyes still closed, "They're not gonna come," Emily mumbled, knowing they had a get-together to host.
"Carlos, get the boys over here now."
Gustavo remained silent, listening to the other end of his phone call, but Emily woke up, peaking curiosity upon hearing loud cheering and music through the phone.
"So are they coming?" Kelly asked.
"No. And I think we just found out where the amazing party is," Gustavo muttered.
Kelly rose, announcing to the room, "Listen up! Everybody on the party bus. We're heading to the Palm Woods!"
Recklessly, everyone ran out of the room as if the fire alarm went off. Emily, slowly following tried to call any of the boys to warn them, but each call went to voicemail and she could only hope Bitters hadn't found the party and kicked the boys out before they got there.

Emily found herself wandering outside to the pool instead of running straight to the elevators after hearing party noises.
The boys had hundreds of people there, lights, music, and the Russian acrobats.
Camille crossed in front of Emily holding a towel. She reached her hand out, grabbing her friend's arm. "Hey, hey, what's up?" She asked.
Camille gave a small smile, "Logan was dating me and this other girl tonight," she admitted. Mercedes immediately came back to mind as Emily remembered Logan was technically her boyfriend. "How was your big executive party?"
She shrugged, "Awful, that's why we're all here," she responded, motioning to the CEO dancing. "You should go talk to Logan," Emily told Camille. "He's such a good guy, and probably got overwhelmed."
Camille nodded, holding up the towel, beginning to walk away, "I was just on my way to do that."
"Why do you have a towel?"
"We threw him in the pool."
Emily grimaced, thinking maybe she should've stayed at the party before it was a real party and solved that problem. She pushed through the crowd, seeing Kendall and Jo dancing together, the couple giving their friend an eager wave.
Across the pool, two chairs were stacked on a table, cups surrounding them, with pool noodles as staffs and in an effort to create a homemade throne. In the chairs, sat Carlos and James, each wearing a foil crown.
Eyebrows raised, Emily crossed over to the boys, approaching the kings.
Carlos hit his staff to the table, "Lady Emily approaches!"
An amused laugh broke out, as she kicked her heels off and placed them under their table.
"How was the party?" James asked.
"Terrible. I am so happy to be here," she admitted, looking up at the two. "So, what am I looking at here?"
"We're the Hollywood Super Party Kings of Hollywood," Carlos reminded her, him and James hitting their staffs in unison.
"And you're just watching the party?"
"Does a king work in the village?"
Rolling her eyes, Emily scoffed. She had done nothing all night, but was far too exhausted from her previous boredom to dance.
Taking notice of her tiredness, James dropped his hand down to Emily, "Would you like to sit with us on our thrones?" He asked, graciously.
She eyed him, unsure.
"C'mon, don't you want to be a Hollywood Super Party Queen of Hollywood?" Carlos asked, smirking, giving her a knowing look.
Her suppressed smile broke through as she nodded, "That sounds awesome," taking James' hand and pulling herself up onto the table. She sat on the arms of both chairs, in between the kings and watched their masterpiece at work.
