Come Get Me

One of the officers showed me and Beau the security camera of the Hoyt and Dewell office. Apparently there was a break in and poor Denise came in on it. Luckily, she hid and waited for the guy to leave. We watched the footage and the masked man was knocking things down, he looked like he was looking for something.

"Alright, thanks." Beau tells the officer and he walks away and Jenny comes up to us. "Hey, any luck on the security cam?" She asked. "No, the guy was wearing a ski mask. He did, uh, gash his arm, though, when he busted the glass." Beau tells her. "Well, that explains the blood." She said, gesturing to the blood spots in the floor.

"And he took his glove off, so if we're lucky, we get a print." I tell Jenny. "Looks like he went through the files of the Bleeding Heart murder." Jenny said and both Beau and I hum at this. "Yeah." She said then she sighs as she looks over at Denise and Cassie, Denise still looked a bit shaken up.

"Uh, we should, um..." I said as I gesture to Denise and Beau nods. "Yeah. Denise, come here." Beau said as he turns to her and she comes up to him and he pulls her into an embrace. "I'm sorry. We'll get to the bottom of this. I promise. Okay?" He said. "Okay." Denise whispers and I pat her shoulder as I go over to Cassie with Jenny.

"Hey, you okay?" Jenny asked Cassie. "I don't know. No. Just brings it all back." She replied. "Your dad." I said and Cassie nods. "Yeah." She mutters. "Bring your stuff by the Sheriff's Station. I'm gonna make space for you, okay? You can work this case from there." Jenny tells Cassie. "Okay, thanks." Cassie said, appreciatively, and Jenny smiles at her.

"Do we have any idea what triggered this?" Beau asked once he finished hugging Denise. "Uh, yeah. I do." Denise said. "Yeah?" Beau said, confused, and Jenny and I go over to her. "Yeah, I posted this message on this online forum that was dedicated to the Bleeding Heart murder." Denise replied and I look at Cassie's case board to see the message Come Get Me with a heart under it written in blood, over their work.

"Yeah, we've been trying to link it to Mark Woodman's death." Cassie said. "My post was the first one since like 2012, and then this happened." She said. "Wow, okay. So whoever did this had their notifications set up for that forum. The question is, what were they waiting for?" I asked. "Attention." Cassie replied and we look at her.

"I mean, clearly, we're onto something. Our backpacker ends up dead, last seen at Deadman's Drop, same place the girl was found." Cassie said. "So we think the Bleeding Heart killer's back?" Jenny asked. "Maybe he never left." I stared and Jenny looks at me while Cassie nods.

"Starting here, Blaire Lucan, 18 years old, the only daughter of Josie and Del Lucan. murdered May 2002." Beau said after we finished setting up a new caseboard for Cassie about the Bleeding Heart murders  at the station as Jenny and I look through the case boxes. "Blaire went missing at an after-prom party at the Basin trailhead, and her body was found before dawn at Deadman's Drop." Cassie said as Jenny puts up a picture on the board.

"Heart was carved out. Forensics said that the Knife used had a curved blade like this one. The Knife was never found." Jenny said as she gestures to the drawing of the knife. "Okay, so with all these cold-case files, what was the working theory?" I asked Jenny and Cassie. "Lots of dead ends, but there was this." Jenny said as she hands me a file and I take it and open it, seeing the autopsy and pictures of Blaire's dead body, Beau comes up next to me to look at it.

"Detectives thought that Blaire's death might not be a one-off." Jenny said. "Hmm. Denise mentioned a link to other killings." Cassie said. "How many?" I asked. "Three in this region alone. Possibly others. All happened before Blaire, all still unsolved." Jenny explains.

"So our guy could be anybody?" Beau asked and I could tell he was a bit annoyed. I couldn't really blame him. "What about the original suspects they questioned?" Beau asked the girls. "There was one that looked good for it, but he died two years ago." Jenny replied. "Any others?" I asked her as I start to fiddle with my locket again.

"There's...Let's see." Jenny said as she looks through the files and opens one that was empty. "What the hell? One of the suspect files is missing." She said. "How's that?" Beau asked. "Person of Interest D." Jenny replied. "See who checked it out last." Cassie said and Jenny goes through the list of people.

"RC." She said. "RC?" Cassie mutters then she looks over some other files and sees something. "Roman Cobb. He was the first detective on the scene that night. He's retired now." Cassie said as Jenny, Beau and I share a look. "He tampered with evidence. The question is why." I said, confused. "Well, let's pay him a visit and ask him why." Beau said, determined, and we start to get ready to leave until Cassie speaks up.

"Wait a minute. What is this?" She asked as she picks up a picture then she scoffs and shows us a picture of a heart carved into a tree. "Okay, you see this heart? This was taken at the Basin trailhead, same place that Blaire went missing. I saw one just like it last night where the truck burned up, freshly carved. I've been...I've been mapping some of them this morning." Cassie said as she holds up her map.

"Any up by where the backpacker disappeared?" Jenny asked her. "Pretty close." Cassie said. "Didn't you say there was a heart carved into the figurine that was left on the backpacker's body?" Beau asked Cassie, referring to this weird, creepy figurine that Cassie and Jenny found on Mark's body.

"Yeah." Cassie said. "Okay, so he starts carving hearts again after all these years? Maybe this is his hunting ground." Jenny said. "Maybe I should pull Emily out of that camp." Beau said as I take in a few deep breathes. "And my brother and nephew." I added. "Okay, I'm gonna go to the trailhead, see if I can find this heart." Cassie said. "Don't go alone." Beau tells her. "Yeah." Cassie said as we leave the room.

Jenny and Cassie walk out of the room but I place a hand on the wall next to the door, embracing myself, as I start to get this feeling of overwhelming. Then my mind started to replay the worst memory in my mind.

What is going on?

(y/n), you don't need to go in there.

What do you mean? Jones, what...?

Trust me you don't want to go...

NO! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!

"(y/n)?" A voice called out and I gasp then look over to my right to see Beau had placed his hand on my shoulder. "You okay?" He asked me as I take in a few deep breaths. "Yeah, just...if this asshole's out and killing again, I need to get Dakota and Harry out of there. I can't let them die." I said. "And we won't. Them or Emily..." Beau said but I keep talking over him. "Because they're the only family I've got left and I can't fail them. I can't fail again, like I did with Liam." I said, getting upset.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, who's Liam? What do you mean fail again?" Beau asked and I look up at him, surprised. "Is this to do with why you moved here?" He asked and I bite my lips then nod before I let out a sigh as I make a decision. "When we get this figured out, I'll tell you. Everything." I said and Beau's eyes widen. "You sure?" He asked me and I nod again.

"If you're serious about us being a thing, I feel like I should tell you everything." I said and Beau gives me a sympathetic look. "I don't want to push you, sweetheart." He tells me and I shake my head. "You're not, this is what I want to do." I said and he nods. "Okay." Beau said then he places both his hands on my shoulder then pulls me to his chest and I embrace him.

I take in a deep breath as he hugs me back then I feel his lips on the top of my head. "So, beers at my place?" Beau said and I smile as I raise my head to look at him. "Sounds good." I said. Beau smiles down at me then kisses my forehead. We break the embrace and we walk out of the room.

"Always one case that keeps you up at night." Roman tells me and Beau after we arrived at his house and asked him about Blaire's murder. "Oh, yeah. I've got a few of those, Mr. Cobb." Beau said. "Then you must know how it feels, you two coming up here after all this time." Roman said.

"You took a file. How come?" I asked him. "I don't know what you're talking about." Roman said. "Suspect in the Blaire Lucan case, Suspect D. You signed out the file and you never returned it." I said, in an accusatory tone. "So what if I did?" He asked me. "You've no business keeping evidence from a case file." I growled.

"I know how it looks, alright? But I had my reasons." Roman replied. "Did someone pay you?" I asked him. "They tried. Hell, if I hadn't taken it, they would have destroyed it." He said. "So somebody was trying to protect this Suspect D? Who was it?" Beau asked him.

"Why should I trust you two?" Roman asked. "Well, why hang on to information like this all these years if you didn't expect someone like us showing up?" Beau asked and Roman bites his lips as he looks down. "We want to solve this case, Mr. Cobb, and I think you do, too." Beau adds and Roman sighs.

"Alright. So why don't you tell me what you got?" Roman asked. "We believe the killer is active again." I said and Roman scoffs. "I knew this wasn't finished." He said. "Well, then help us finish it." Beau said and Roman looks between us then he digs into his bag and pulls out a tablet then hands it to me.

"You're lucky. I got it right here. Here's your missing suspect. I keep the originals in a safe place." He explains as I swipe through the copies until I find a prom picture of Blaire and her boyfriend. "Blaire's boyfriend?" I asked Beau as I show him the picture. "Yeah." He mutters as I zoom in on the picture.

"Joe Walker. His father, Hiram Walker, was the City Commissioner in 2002." Roman said and Beau nods. "Okay, alright. So a powerful father trying to bury evidence to protect his son." Beau said. "Classmates said that Joe and Blaire had a big fight at the dance and that he was unaccounted for at the time she disappeared?" I asked Roman as I look through the pictures.

"Yeah, and he said he was passed out drunk in his truck, but no one could corroborate his story." Roman said. "And you don't believe him, do you? So why not go after him?" Beau asked him. "Hiram Walker was ruthless." Roman replied. "What do you mean?" I asked him. "When I refused to let it go, he had me put on desk duty, saw to it that my ex-wife lost her job. So I sat on that file all this time, hoping that something would come along to link Joe to the murder." Roman said.

"Mr. Cobb, listen to me. We're gonna do our best to solve this case, I promise." Beau said as he holds a hand out to Roman, who takes it and shakes his hand. "I appreciate that. Not a day goes by that I don't regret not solving it." Roman said and I hand him his tablet back. "Thank you." I tell him then Beau and I walk to Beau's car while I dial a number.

"Pops, I need an address for a Joe Walker." I tell him. "No problem." He said, happily, and I hear him type on his computer as Beau and I get into his truck. "And check his records for me, will ya?" I asked him. "You got it. I'll send it to your phones." He said. "Thanks." I said, appreciatively, as I hang up.

*3rd Person POV*

Luke was in the main tent area and he was looking around, like he was looking for someone. "If you're looking for your new besties, Cutie and the Creep, they went into town." Emily said as her and Harry come up next to him and grab an apple.

"Wait, Tonya and Donno left? How do you know that?" Luke asked, nervously. We saw them on their way out. Said there was a problem at the restaurant or something." Harry said as he takes a bite out of his apple.

"Are they...Are they coming back?" Luke asked the two kids. "Yeah, I think Tonya said she'd be back for the night hike. Why?" Emily asked him and Luke begins to grab several snacks and shoves them in his backpack, slinging it over his back.

"You look terrified." Harry points out and Luke looks at the two then steps closer to them. "Listen, there are some bad people on this trip. If you want my advice, get the hell out of here. I know I am." He said and he starts to walk away. "What are you...Luke!" Emily calls out as she walks a few steps but Luke keeps walking.

Emily sighs then she starts to follow after him. "Emily! Wait up!" Harry calls out as he follows after her.

*(y/n)'s POV*

"All those hopes and dreams in high school...This is where that fresh-faced kid in a tux ends up." Beau said as he and I get out of his car and walk up to this isolated house in the field. "That fresh-faced kid could have killed three other people before he killed Blaire." I pointed out. "I know. I'm just having a hard time thinking about a teenager going state to state, killing people. But then again, the world is full of all sorts." Beau said

"Hey, Ted Bundy started playing with knives when he was 3." I informed him and he nods and points at me as if to say you got a point. We make it to the front door and we pull out our guns as Beau knocks on the door.

"Joe Walker? Sheriff's Department." He calls out as the door opens after he knocks on it. "Anybody home?" I shout and we noticed a homemade meth lab in the living room and the smell hits us.

"Wonderful. He's cooking meth." I said, sarcastically, then we hear a clatter in the back of the house. The both of us make our way to the back but see nobody until we hear noises from the roof of the main bedroom. Beau finds a rifle and he pulls back the bolt and holds onto it as we hear a few more thuds in the roof again.

"Sheriff's Department." Beau calls out again as I aim my gun on the roof and Beau uses the rifle to poke the roof. Once he hits the roof, it collapses and Joe falls through and lands on the floor, coughing and grunting. "Hiya, Joe." Beau greets him as Joe rolls over on his back.

We brought Joe back to the station and had him in one of the interrogation room. Beau looks over Joe's file and whistles. "Possession, assault, assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism. My, my, you have been busy, Joe." Beau said as he hands me the file.

"Why don't you start by telling us what happened with that hand?" I asked Joe, gesturing to the bandages around his right hand. "Burnt it." Joe replied. "Hazards of cooking meth." I sneered. "Yeah, well, it got infected." Joe said and he chuckles. "You wanna take a look?" He asked me. "I'll pass." I said.

"Where were you this afternoon around three or four?" Beau asked Joe. "I don't know. I was taking care of things at the ranch." Joe replied. "Anybody working with you today, somebody who could verify where you were?" I asked and Joe gets frustrated and upset.

"Look, if you're gonna bust me, will you just do it?" He asked us, annoyed. "You're not here because of your janky meth lab, Joe." Beau said. "Then why am I here?!" Joe asked, angrily. "There was a break-in at a local P.I. office, Dewell and Hoyt." Beau tells him.

"What does that got to do with me?" Joe asked us. "Well, they just re-opened the Bleeding Heart murder case." Beau replied and Joe stares at us, almost in fear. "Now, the person who broke in...left them a little message, said Come and get me, and it was written in blood." Beau informs and Joe looks down, his eyes filled with unshed tears.

"Says here a patrol officer found you a few weeks ago, passed out in your truck down by the Basin trailhead. What were you doing there?" I asked him. "They questioned me 20 years ago. I didn't kill Blaire. I loved her." Joe said, in a calm voice. "Witness statements have you fighting with her the night she was killed." I pointed out.

"It wasn't a fight. Check the file. I was trying to console her, man." Joe said, getting angry again. "Console? Is that another word for shutting her up?" I asked him, getting angry myself. "What happened that night, hmm? What did you do to her?" Beau asked him. "Nothing." Joe said and Beau and I share a look.

*3rd Person POV*

"Harry? Harry?" Dakota calls out as he walks around the camp but doesn't see his son. No, no, no, this can't be happening. He thought and he meets up with Carla and Avery. "Hey, Carla, Avery!" He calls out as he walks up to him and they turn to face him. "Have you guys seen Harry?" He asked. "No, we haven't. Actually, we were about to ask you if you've seen Emily." Carla said to him. "No, I haven't." Dakota said then they look over to see Sunny walking out of her tent.

"Hey, Sunny." Carla calls out to her as her and Dakota go up to her. "Hey, um, have you seen Emily and Harry?" Dakota asked her. "Uh, can't say I have." Sunny said. "Well, she went to get a snack, but that was an hour ago, and she's not in the mess tent." Carla said. "Yeah, same thing with Harry." Dakota said.

"Well, I'll keep an eye out for them. I'm sure they've found them a nice place with a wonderful view." Sunny said. "Yeah, okay. Thanks." Carla said as Dakota nods then bites his lips. "You bet." Sunny said and the two concerning parents walk away.

*(y/n)'s POV*

Beau holds up Joe and Blaire's prom phot and Joe looks at it. "Yeah, that night, they pretended like they were happy for us, taking all those photos at their house." Joe said. "The Lucans?" Beau asked him. "Yeah. You know what Blaire never told anyone? Not even her mom?" Joe asked us and we give him a suspicious look.

"She was scared of him." Joe said. "Scared of who? Her father?" I asked him. "Del held on so damn tight. We were gonna leave after graduation, and when he found out, he lost it." Joe said. "Well, I'd be pretty pissed if my daughter planned to cut out with her boyfriend." Beau said.

"Would you hurt her?" Joe asked him and this threw me off. "What are you saying?" I asked him, confused. "Blaire had bruises on her arms the night of the prom. Why do you think she covered up?" Joe said as he looks at the photo, which she was wearing a cardigan.

"Why didn't you tell anyone?" Beau asked him. "I tried. No one believed me." Joe said. "And you were a suspect." Beau adds. "Detective Cobb, man, he had it out for me." Joe said, upset. "Well, he had good reason." Beau said.

"They questioned Del, you know." Joe tells us. "They always question the victim's parents." I said. "He said he was out for a drive." Joe scoffs. "I know where he really was. He was stalking us in his brand-new Chevy truck." Joe said. "An overprotective father on prom night. That's hardly stalking." Beau said, defensively. "I think he had a plan." Joe said, ominously.

"We need to get ahold of Cassie and Jenny and let them know who we might be dealing with." Beau tells me as we walk out of the interrogation room. "Cassie texted me while we were in there." I tell him as I pull out my phone and see Cassie's latest text, making me stop.

"Oh, no." I said, worried. "What?" Beau asked me. "They went to Del Lucan's house." I tell him. "Oh, that's gonna be a problem. We just got a match on the print we pulled from the break-in. You probably know what I'm gonna say next." Poppernak said and my heart drops.

"Del Lucan." I said, worried. "When did she send the text?" Beau asked me and I look at the text. "20 minutes ago." I said and I called Cassie's number but it went to voicemail. "Straight to voicemail." I sighed then I call Jenny but it was the same. "Same thing with Jenny." I said, now getting really worried. "Okay, I'll drive. You keep calling them." Beau tells me and we walk out.

*3rd Person POV*

"Hello?" Cassie calls out as her and Jenny walk into the barn. Nobody was around and the two girls walked in deeper into the building. Jenny then turns to the left and sees a board with bunch of pictures and notes and newspaper. "Cassie..." she said and Cassie looks at the board.

There were several pictures of Blaire as a young child. The two women stare at the board until a male voice said. "Well, what the hell?" The two women turn and see Del Lucan standing at the door. "Mr. Lucan, I'm Cassie Dewell and this is Jenny Hoyt." Cassie said. "I got your message." Del said as he walks in and Jenny and Cassie noticed he was holding a rifle.

"Step back." Jenny orders as her and Cassie aim their guns at him. "Oh, you're gonna trespass on my property and you want to pull guns on me?" Del asked before he chuckles then shuts the door behind him. "Naw." He said and Cassie looks at his hand and noticed it was injured.

"You're the one who broke into our office." Cassie said, shaking a bit while Jenny was steady. "I had to get your attention. You sure got mine with your post about the Bleeding Heart murder." Del said as he walks closer to the women.

"So you left the pendant for us to find? It was your daughter's, right?" Jenny asked him as he walks up to them but they back away from him. "I gave it to her on her 12th birthday. She stopped wearing it, though." Del said. "I don't get it. What's with all the theater? The blood, the message?" Cassie asked him.

"It worked, didn't it? What'd it take you, all of three, four hours to get to me?" Del asked them. "Okay. We're here. We're listening. You want to tell us how it happened? Why did you kill Blaire?" Jenny asked him, in a firm tone, and Del looks at her, stunned and confused.

"What? Y-You think I killed my daughter? No. My God, no. I loved her. I loved my little girl. I would never hurt her." Del said, his voice start breaking in tears. "Her heart was carved out of her body like some butchered elk. I would never hurt my little girl. But they forgot about her. That's why I collect all this. Someone needs to keep looking." Del said as he wipes his oncoming tears. "Okay, we hear you." Cassie said, calmly.

Meanwhile, Beau and (y/n) were outside of the barn and they cautiously walk up to the door, their guns drawn. Beau then stands in front of the door and counts down with his fingers before he kicks the door open and the two run in, their guns aimed at Del.

"Hands, now!" (Y/n) shouts. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa." Cassie and Jenny said as Beau shouts. "Back up."

Del raises his hands and (y/n) looks over at her friend. "You okay, girls?" She asked them. "Yeah, we're okay." Jenny tells them as Cassie nods. "The killer's still out there." Del whispers to Cassie and Jenny.

Meanwhile, in the woods, Emily and Harry walk around the woods, in the dark with only the moonlight, looking for Luke as they lost him. "Luke!" Emily shouts but nothing. "Anyone?!" Harry shouts but they hear nor see anybody.

"We're fine, we're fine." Emily whispers to herself as Harry looks around, terrified. "Emily, I'm scared." Harry said, his voice breaking, and Emily puts an arm around him. She tries to whisper comforting words to him as they walk along the trail until they come upon some clothing items.

"What is that?" Harry asked as they follow the trial of clothing items until they come upon a body, who Emily recognized. "Mary?" She calls out, worried, as they walk closer. But they see blood and her skin looked a bit gray and her eyes had no life in them. "Oh, my God." Emily gasped and both her and Harry started breathing heavily before the two kids scream and run.

"Help us! Somebody help us please! Help!" Emily and Harry scream as they run for a bit until they saw a flashlight. Both of them stop and scream only to realize it was Buck with his horse. "Emily, Harry. What are you two doing out here?" Buck asked them and the kids run up to him, both of them sobbing in terror.

"You need to help! Somebody killed her!" Harry cried. "Killed who?" Buck asked. "Mary! She's dead!" Emily pants, in a panic. "Show me." Buck said, confused but also curious, and the two kids try to calm down, now that there was an adult, and go to show him.

Back at the Lucan's, Cassie was taking pictures of the board until she pushed aside a newspaper and saw a drawing of a young man, a young man that looked vaguely familiar. She walks out of the barn, where many officers were out investigating the area, towards Del Lucan, who was handcuffed.

"Hey. Who is this?" Cassie asked Del as she holds up the sketch. "That's some kid they spotted in the woods the night of the afterparty, the night Blaire was killed." Del replied. "And the police did the composite sketch?" Cassie asked. "Yeah, but he was never seen again." Del replied as Jenny, (y/n) and Beau watch between them.

"How old did they say he was?" Cassie asked him. "Teenager?" Del suggested and Cassie looks at the sketch. "What are you thinking?" (Y/n) asked Cassie. "I think it's the guy that I saw with the truck." Cassie replied. "Really?" Beau said, surprised. "I mean, older, but it's the same eyes." Cassie said as she holds up the sketch then pulls out her phone and pulled up the photo of the sketch of the man, and they did look similar.

"It's him." Cassie confirmed.

"Okay, everyone. We've got minutes till the supermoon hike." Sunny said to the campers. "Hey, I don't know if we should wait for Mary. I haven't seen her in hours. I think she's off with Luke." One female camper said. "Hmm, she could be. Those two are pretty tight." Sunny chuckles but the woman still looked concerned.

"Okay, y'all be sure and get you one of these flashlights. The moon's gonna brighten up the trail quite a bit, but you'll want one, trust me. Okay?" Sunny said, smiling, then she turns to get ready as does everyone else.

Dakota, who was shaking and twitching, goes over to Carla. "You two haven't found the kids, have you?" He asked, worried. "No, I haven't." Carla said and Dakota places his hands on his head. "Oh God." He whispers, tearfully. "Okay." Avery said, unconcerned. "No, it's not okay, Avery." Carla said, annoyed.

"It's been over two hours. That's it! I'm calling my sister." Dakota said and Carla nods in agreement. "And I'm gonna call Beau." Carla said. "That's not a good idea. Look, the kids are fine, alright? She's a responsible girl, Harry is safe with her. They know what time we're supposed to leave at." Avery said, trying to assure them but Carla and Dakota go over to Sunny.

"Hey, Sunny?" Dakota said and Sunny turns to him and Carla. "Yeah?" Sunny said. "Did you see Harry or Emily anywhere?" Dakota asked her. "Yeah, we still haven't found them." Carla added. "No, I haven't, hon. I'm sorry." Sunny said. "Okay, thanks." Carla said as her and Dakota walk away.

"Okay, we'll take care of that tomorrow. Thanks." Sunny tells one of her officer friends, minutes later, and he walks off just as Carla and Dakota come up to her. "There's still no sign of the kids." Carla said, worried. "O-Okay, just calm down. Buck's up on the trail making a safety pass for bears and whatnot. If Emily and Harry are up there, he'll find them." Sunny assures them.

"Okay, well, we're not gonna go with you. Miss Carla and I gonna stay here in case the kids come back." Dakota said as Carla nods. "Okay." Sunny said, sympathetically. Then Carla turns to Avery, who walks over them. "You can go on with them if you want to." She tells him and he gives her a concerned look. "Hey." Avery whispers, concerned.

At that moment, they hear a horse coming and everyone looks over to see Buck walking with his horse. "Call the sheriff! Somebody killed Mary!" Buck shouts as everyone was able to see Mary's body slung over the horse. Everyone gasps as Emily and Harry walk up next to Buck, both of them looked shaken.

"Emily?" Carla calls out.

"Harry?" Dakota said.

"Mom." Emily cries, tossing down a bag on the ground, snd runs to her mom and they hug.

"Dad!" Harry cries as he runs to Dakota and they embrace as well. "Emily. Emily, my God." Carla cries while Dakota hugs his son, tighter, and kisses the top of his head. "Mary! Oh, my God! No." One of the female camper exclaims as she runs to the horse.

"Buck, what happened?" Sunny asked Buck as she walks up to him. "Emily and Harry found her." Buck said as the female camper, Mary's friend, starts sobbing. "You two okay?" Dakota asked as he pulls back from the embrace and looks between Emily and Harry, as Emily also pulls out of the embrace with her mom.

"I don't know." Emily cries and she hugs Carla and Harry shakes his head, tears running down his face, then he hugs his dad again. "Oh, son. I'm so, so, so, sorry." Dakota whispers as he buries his face in Harry's hair.

"Em, is that Paige's bag?" Avery asked as he points to the bag. Carla gives him a bit a look of disapproval while Emily turns to him. "Yeah." She said and Avery looks at Sunny and Buck. "Where's Luke?" He asked. "That's a good question." Sunny said and she turns to Buck. "Buck?" She asked. "I don't know, but somebody better find him." Buck said to her.

*(y/n)'s POV*

I finished putting up the files and paperwork before I let out a heavy sigh and run my hands over my face when I hear footsteps behind me. "I hear that. I hate filling out the paperwork." Beau said as he comes up to me and hands me a cup of coffee. I accept it and hum in agreement before I take a sip of the warm liquid.

"At least out here, I don't have to write out an entire essay." I remark and Beau smiles. "Right? You know in Texas, we're all actions first, words later. But when it came time to write a report, it was like being back with Mrs. Breckinridge." Beau said and I chuckled. "God, I hated doing essays. In my head, I would get a good paragraph to write down but the moment my pen hit the paper, it disappeared and I struggled." I said.

Beau and I stand there in silence for a moment before Beau speaks up. "So, uh...you still good on coming over and...talk?" Beau asks me and I look up at him and give a small smile. "I am as long as you're okay with it." I said and Beau nods. "Okay, well, I'm ready to head out if you are." He said and I nod then we start to leave the office until Jenny comes in.

"Hey, we got a call." Jenny said and I furrowed my brow. "Already? Where?" Beau asked her and she gives the both of us concerned look. "It was Sunny Barnes..." Jenny said and my heart stopped at this while I noticed that Beau has a look of worry and fear. "They found a body at the camp." She said.
