Maria's POV
After Rylee and I finished dinner, I let her climb on, cradled her against my tummy, and took her to my bedroom. I lay her on the pillow next to me. I couldn't help but notice how beautiful she is. I can tell she dresses emo and goth which is super cool. She also wears glasses which is so cute. "You have the cutest face. You want me to put your glasses on my table over here?" Rylee nodded and handed me her glasses. I was very careful not to break them because I know she needs them to see certain things better. I looked back over towards Rylee who's covering herself with the pillow case like a blanket. "Are you cold?" Rylee nodded. "I can make you a bubble bath if you want. I know you probably need it after living on the streets for the last few days." I said. "I'd love that." Said Rylee as I gently picked her up and took her to the bathroom to make her a bubble bath. "Alright. I'll come check on you in a few minutes."

Rylee's POV
I went into the sink to clean myself after Maria left the bathroom. I felt so much better after 3 days of not washing myself. After I was done, I dried off and got in black cat onesie. Everything rumbled around me which meant was coming back in. "Oh my gosh, Rylee. You look so cute." Said Maria. "Thank you." I said. "You ready for bed?" I nodded as I climbed onto Maria's hand. "Would you like to sleep on my pillow or sleep on my belly?" I looked at her nervously. "What's wrong, Rylee?" Asked Maria. "Are you sure you want me on your belly? I don't wanna disturb you." I said. "Oh no. You won't disturb me, sweetie. I don't mind you sleep on my belly." I began to shake.

Maria's POV
I had a feeling Rylee has anxiety and had something traumatic happen at her old place. "Did someone hurt you?" That's when she burst into tears and rubbed her back very gently as she told me everything that happened with her former roommate. "You poor thing. No wonder you're scared." I never liked it when people berate others to make themselves feel better. "Rylee, you are so beautiful. What your roommate did to you physically and emotionally was wrong. I know you're very insecure about yourself and that's completely understandable. But you are completely safe with me and will never do anything to hurt you." I brought Rylee in front of my face and gave her a gentle kiss. "I'll always protect you." I said gently placing her on my tummy. "I'll protect you from nightmares." I felt so good comforting Rylee especially after all she's been through. Both of us dealt with toxic people at the same time so we made a promise to keep each other safe. "Sweet dreams, Rylee."
