The only sense of normalcy he felt in his life was the fact that he knew he was into men at fifteen. When he graduated from high school, he dated Carolee Blue from his chemistry class as a facade.

He didn't know about her dark side. About a month into their relationship, she began to verbally abuse him and even raped him when she was drunk. When Aidan discovered his pyrokinesis, she started to beat him for being a freak. He finally used his ability against her, burning down her house. Soon afterward, he admitted himself into the mental hospital (about the same time Harry did after he broke up with Noah).

When Aidan was released, he fled town and met a young woman with electrokinesis. He stayed in a house where he met people like him. Aidan eventually became the leader and heard about Harry from Dr. Steve Heart. Once he met Harry, he felt a connection to him. After Harry ran away after ending things with Reginald, Aidan offered Harry a place to stay, which Harry took gratefully.
