*on a seaside cliff roasting a few fishes over a roaring fire I had caught earlier and turned to see you all*ah hello welcome to the first page of the big book of beasts and buddies! Today we are going to talk about my kind the wigglins and perhaps enjoy some delicious fish!*pulls out a big book with tons of notes bookmarks and tabs*

A wigglin is a small critter that grows to about 3ft tall some growing to 4ft they are defined by gill like appendages that grow around the base of the head and the line of blue dots that line the sides of their bodies males usually come in blues reds and dark pinks while female come in purple greens and light pinks and typically live up to 200 years and reach full maturity by the age of 45

Wigglins follow a loose but flexible caste system there are four more worthy castes the guard caste who protect other wigglins the soother caste who are their doctors the spirit caste who are the magic users of the wigglins and the explorer caste their a caste of wigglins who act as diplomats and scouts for wigglins

I myself was born into the spirit caste and trained in the guard caste! Which allowed me to use magic along side my guardsmen training though I'm technically part of the explorer caste I'll explain that in a bit

Wigglins are born in small clusters of semi transparent eggs and kept under watch in communal areas by the soother caste and after about 5 months the eggs hatch and then are placed into a caste for the next 12 years of their life and when they turn 13 they can choose to stay in the caste their in or choose a new one!

To keep this society together a small council of each castes leaders is made to make sure no caste has to much or to little power!

The places where wigglins live are what you hoomans call tide trenches wigglins live in these small sea canyons that have low and high tides though the only difference for a wigglin is that it allows access to areas of the tide trenches you can't get access to during high or low tide!

Wigglins have two very distinct traits they use for everyday life now as you see we don't have limits yet we're able to hold things you see we as a species have the ability to generate a small gravitational field around us so we can hold things almost like we have hands wigglins can train themselves to hold up to from what I've found anyway to be 16 items! Granted this wigglin was 160 years old so they were late in their years

The other ability we have is we are truly amphibious we can survive both in water and out of it without any need for the other some wigglins will live their whole lives underwater while others on land!

Now as I said earlier while I was born into the spirit caste and then trained in the guard caste when I turned 13 but barely two years after that I managed to become an explorer for my people that my lovable psychopaths is quite the tale*throws a lot into the fire*

Unlike most my castemates I was more adventurous then most using my magic to pull little pranks here and there as I got older I knew while I enjoyed studying all the magic I could there was something lacking in my young life that was until it saw the guard caste train

I was amazed at what I saw two warriors clashing blades against one another it was awe inspiring though I didn't get to watch for much longer since one of the caretakers saw me and took me back home but I began to not only train my arcane abilities but my ability to fight!

I was 10 when that happened and three years had passed and I chose the guard caste as my new home and I didn't regret it for a second

I went through training with a bit more difficultly then most but I used my wit and magical abilities to help work my way up the ladder sometimes literally but I enjoyed every minute of it and my first patrol I saw something even more magnificent

The world itself outside the trench we had always been told it was dangerous and deadly you see my trench was very superstitious of the outside world but where they saw dangers beyond imagination I saw endless beauty the waves the sky just everything

I returned to my barracks and told everyone what I saw and ya wanna know the first thing they did to me

They locked me in a cage and took me to the trenches council granted even though I was in a cage i was honored to see the leaders of each of the caste but I knew I wasn't here to be given a boon of some sort I was on trial

When I saw the looks in their eyes I knew off the bat they were going to execute me but I made my case when I said I wished to see the world outside the trench they either laughed and called me mad but I didn't care

When they saw I stood my ground the leader of the explorer caste came down and asked me if I'd be willing to try a challenge then granted I was suspicious so he told me what I'd be doing I would fight the leader of the caste I was in the head guardsmen was the wigglin I'd be fighting

My chances of victory were truly slim but was given a chance to see the world beyond the one I've grown to know this was the first true battle I've ever faced

I saw him there in the shallow water holding two massive axes intimidating me as I stood there slightly submerged when we were told to begin the battle was one for the century I still have the video to prove it!

We clashes weapon against each other his axes versus my small sword if I was gonna win this battle I was gonna need to be creative I noticed that we had just enough water to dive into and fight underwater if we want but we had so much space above us I had probably the most brilliant idea of my life!

I used what magic I knew to keep in the air and dive at the guard caste leader with my blade he didn't expect this at all let me tell you I managed to leave a scar on his forehead and a few more strikes later I had won my freedom

Soon though I was back in front of the council and they told me they would allow me to travel the world on the one condition I return every now and then

They led me to the gates where my true journey began I exited the gates filled with anxiety courage and joy because it led me to the world I've come to love

And so that's how I began my journey in this world and now I've returned for one of my visits hmmmmm I wonder what's changed since I've left since last time maybe I'll spend a few extra days here well until next time my lovable psychopaths I hope you enjoyed now to say hi to my old home*the gates open and I hop in and smile*
