I sat there waiting for him to speak, or do something and couldn't help but jump a bit when he moved to lean against the table, crossing his arms, my attention drawn to his muscles in his arms, then he cleared his throat and my eyes snapped up and I felt my face heat.

Oh my gosh! I was caught staring!!! I sighlently scolded myself.

"Do you know why your father sent you to me?" His voice was deep, and husky.

I found my body reacting to just his voice which made me stiffen, shaking my head "no, I don't." I said simply, thankful my voice was clear.

Blayne nodded and sighed thinking so it will be up to me, to prove she's mine.

"Where is Darrel now?" Blayne asked

I sigh "I ended up losing the trackers half way here. But I don't think me double backing will fool them long."

Blayne nodded, out of the corner of my eye I seen Thomas nod as well then leave, I assumed his Alpha mind-linked with him. "So" I started nervously "I should head back." I stand but don't even look up fully when I feel the warmth of Blayne.

I tried to step back, but by doing so I hit the back of my knees on the chair, retaking my seat as I stared up at him with wide eyes.

"You will have to stay here, Akira." He replied calmly "you are now under my protection, and since we know what this Alpha from the Red pack is after, it wouldn't be wise for you to leave."

My heart hammered in my chest, "I can't stay!" I cried

He simply turned his back, and then two guards stepped forward "take her to her room." They grabbed my arms gently, which was a surprise and I decided not to fight them but then heard Blayne.

"Akira. Please, do not think bad of me. Your father was a loyal friend to me, and me to him. I will do what's necessary to keep his daughter safe." He nodded and before I was able to reply or even glare I was taken out of the room.
