Chapter 5 - Gopa, the caretaker

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Ram Hare Ram Hare Hare. You might be thinking why the hell am I singing this right now, right? Because this is the only song which will fit true in case of Gopa. Ok,ok, don't be impatient. I will tell who is Gopa. Gopa is a gwalan, that means she is a care taker of cows. She looks so beautiful that people confused her with Radha Rani, as they almost looked similar. Ok, you might have got the idea as to who is Gopa. Anyways, you might be wondering what is Gopa gonna do in this story.

Kameshi was just 5 years old when she saw her mother praying infront of a Krishna Statue. She felt connected to the statue. Her mother called her near and initiated her in Krishna Bhakti. From that day, she became a Krishna Bhakt but her questions increased. Who is Krishna or who created sun? Her parents and even her grandparents tried to answer all her questions. But they could not answer all of her questions.

On a fine day, when Kameshi was 7 years old, her mother was learning how to drive a car, when the car got in an accident. In that accident, her mother died. Kameshi missed her mother so much that she almost fell in depression. Her father nor her grandparents could get her out of that state. Her grandfather, her Dadai, Aravind could no longer see her in that state. So he advised Padamjit to give advertisement for a nanny for his princess. Padamjit does as he is told.

In Golok,

Krishna smiles after seeing what was happening down on Earth.

Krishna- It's time that I take my Gopa Devi form.

He closes his eyes and gets converted into a girl of age 20. She had long flowing hair which was made in to two braid. Her eyes were like lotus. Her skin was of darkest shade of night. She was wearing pink and yellow ghagra choli as a milkmaid and was holding the divine flute in her hand.

Gopa- It's time to meet you, Radhey. (smiles and disappears)

On Earth,

One afternoon, after returning from school, Kameshi directly went to her bedroom and slept on the bed. She started crying so hard that it looked as if a river was flowing from her eyes. She heard sweet flute music out of nowhere. She sat up straight on her bed and closed her eyes to listen to the music and find it's source. She understood that it was coming from the living room. She quietly got out of the bed and went to the living room. She quietly stood behind a pillar and started watching what was happening there. Dadai and dad were sitting on a sofa. They were listening to the flute music which was being played by the 20 year old girl, who was wearing yellow and pink ghaghra choli as if she was a milkmaid standing in front of them. After sometime she stopped playing the flute music.

Aravind- You play the instrument very well.

Padamjit- But that does not mean, she will be able to handle Kameshi.

Aravind- Call her then. (Smiles)

Padamjit- Titli...

Kameshi enters the room quietly from behind the pillar.

Aravind- You were standing behind the pillar the entire time. (Smiles) Come here, Titli...

She goes and stands near her Dadai.

Aravind- Go and talk to her. (Pushing her a bit) Go on.

She moves a bit near Kameshi.

Kameshi- What's your name?

Gopa- Gopa. But you can call me by any name you like. What's your name?

Kameshi- Kameshi. What is the instrument you were playing right now?

Gopa- Bansuri.

Kameshi- Is it the one which Lord Krishna plays?

Gopa- Yes, Titli.

Kameshi- (Smiles) Can I see the bansuri?

Gopa- Here you go. (Hands the bansuri to her)

Kameshi takes the basuri in her hand. It was the normal one which she is used to see in the market. But it made her feel as if she holding lord Krishna's bansuri in her hand.

Kameshi- Will you teach me how to play bansuri, Gopa didi.

Gopa- Sure

Padamjit- (Smiling) After so long, I am seeing my daughter smile. From now, you are her caretaker.

Gopa does namaste pose and bows. Then Kameshi takes Gopa to her room holding her hand.

Samriddhi time to Talk

Krishna never forgets his devotee vows. He fulfills it one way or the other. That is the case for all the gods. Anyways, can you tell how many avatars did Vishnu take on Earth? That is such a easy one, but do you know about Mahadev's and Brahma's dev avatars. I will tell you about them through this Katha. Anyways ...

Voice- Narayan! Narayan!

Me- Now what Narad?

Narad- Valkhiya Rishimuni and Nandi have come over here?

Me- Why?

Narad- You go and ask

Me- (pulling Narad from his hand) Then you are also coming with me

Narad- No...

Me- YES! (glares and takes him along)
