Prem ki Pavitrata-Purity of Love

Through the bedroom window, the moon illuminated a peaceful image of Dev and Anna curled up next to one other, lost in the peace of a deep sleep. Aside from the occasional rustle of the curtains in the soft night breeze, the room was calm. Anna stirred and felt a warmth come over her. The lovely heat was made better by her husband's consoling presence and the warm blankets. But she found the warmth to be a little too exhausting. With care to avoid disturbing Dev's serene sleep, she carefully slipped out from under the covers. Anna felt the cool hardwood floor beneath her feet as she tiptoed across the room. She reasoned that cooling off with a little ice cream could be the best solution. She smiled mischievously and followed the faint glow of the refrigerator's light into the kitchen. Anna's eyes jumped when she opened the freezer and saw Dev standing there with an ice cream tub in his hands. Surprised to see her, he looked up. "Dev,aap yahaan par kya kar rahe hain(what are you doing here?)" In an effort to avoid waking everyone in the home, Anna whispered. Holding the tub of ice cream, he admitted, "Mujhe kuch meetha khaane ki icha ho rahi thi aur mujhe neend nahi aa rahi thi(I was craving something sweet and I couldn't sleep.)" Anna gave in to the temptation. She grabbed a spoon and attempted to quietly take a small amount of ice cream for herself. But before she could enjoy her stolen goodie, Dev caught her in the act. Anna flushed and laughed, caught red-handed, saying, "I was just cooling off, you know." Dev arched an eyebrow, his eyes shining with playfulness. Rather than give her a stern look, he dipped the spoon into the ice cream and, grinning slyly, flung a small dollop onto her arm. "Oops, looks like you need more cooling off," he joked. Laughing, Anna realized she was being watched. Dev kept sprinkling bits of ice cream on her arms in a fun manner, and before long, they were having an impromptu, sweet-smelling nighttime ice cream fight. They relished the unexpected delight of a straightforward, lighthearted moment in the middle of the night, and laughter echoed throughout the silent home.

The following morning, the smell of spices filled the kitchen as Anna started to make her favorite traditional South Indian and Malayali dish, egg roast curry with appam, in an effort to impress her elegant mother-in-law Aarti and her sassy sister-in-law Masoom. Aarti arched an eyebrow as she walked into the kitchen and glanced at the assortment of ingredients that were arranged on the counter as Anna hummed a happy melody. "Anna, beti, kya bana rahi ho(dear, what are you cooking?)"Anna gave Aarti a smile. "Good morning, Mummy ji.Maine aaj subah naashte ke liye kuch naya banaane ka phaisala kiya. Appam aur anda rost curry ke baare mein kya khyaal hai(I decided to prepare something new for breakfast this morning. What about appam and egg roast curry?)" Aarti arched her brow even higher, intrigued but doubtful. "Naashte ke liye anda bhunen? Yah to dilachasp hai(Egg roast for breakfast? That's interesting.)" Anna grinned with assurance, eager to demonstrate her culinary prowess. "Darasal, yah ek svaadisht dakshin bhaarateey vyanjan hai. Aap ise pasand karane vaale hain(Indeed, it's a tasty South Indian dish. You're going to love it!)" Masoom walked into the kitchen with a sneaky grin on her face. "Anna, aaie dekhen ki kya aap sachche chef hain. Kya aap masala sambhaalane mein saksham hain(let's check if you're a true chef. Are you able to handle the spice?)" Anna laughed, unmoved by Masoom's attitude. "Chinta mat karo Masoom. Masalon ka upayog karate samay main sahaj rahata hoon(Don't worry, Masoom. I'm at ease when using spices.)" She started by heating up some oil in a skillet, releasing the aroma of bursting mustard seeds across the kitchen. Anna added finely chopped onions, ginger, and garlic, resulting in a symphony of flavors as the cumin seeds sizzled. Aarti looked on curiously and gave a nod of approval. "Aisa lagata hai ki tumhe kitchen mein apana raasta pata hai, Anna(You seem to know your way around the kitchen, Anna.)" Anna smiled, grateful for the compliment. "Thank you, Mummy ji.Ab jadi-bootiyon aur masalon ko jodane ka samay aa gaya hai(It's time to add the herbs and spices now.)" Her careful use of an aromatic mixture of turmeric, coriander, cumin, and garam masala coated the onions and sent waves of fragrant aromas across the kitchen. Masoom had to make the comment. "Ab tak, yah acha lag raha hai. Yah dekhane ke liye jaanchen ki kya svaad sugandh se mel khaata hai(So far, it looks good. Check to see if the flavor matches the aroma.)" Anna gave Masoom a wink, unaffected by her teasing comments. "Ande ab pramukh focus hain. Maine unhe poornata se pakaaya hai(The eggs are the major focus now. I've cooked them to perfection.)" She split the hard-boiled eggs in half and carefully placed them in the simmering sauce, giving them time to absorb the aromatic spices. Unable to resist, Masoom took a cautious sniff. "Theek hai, Anna. Haalaanki, sachcha svaad hi maayane rakhata hai(Alright, Anna. However, true taste is what counts.)" With unshakeable confidence, Anna laughed. "Bas ise samay deejie. Sarvashreshth abhi bhi aana baaki hai(Just give it time. The best is still to come.)" Anna turned her focus to the appam batter while the egg roast curry was simmering. For a perfect consistency, she combined rice flour, coconut milk, and a small amount of salt. "Shaabaash, Anna. Main isake liye taiyaar nahi tha(Well done, Anna. I wasn't prepared for this.)" Anna grinned. "Meri maanana hai ki acha khaana logo ko ek saath laata hai(I believe good food brings people together.)" Gently, Anna spooned the batter onto a hot griddle, forming round, fluffy appams that would go well with the hot, spicy curry. Masoom, who was always doubtful, took a spoonful of the curry. "Theek hai, Anna, shaayad tumhe khaana banaana aata hogi(Okay, Anna, you might just know how to cook.)" Anna gave a victorious smile. "Bataaya to. Aaie ab ek saath is pyaare bhojan ka aanand len(I told you. Let's now enjoy this lovely meal together.)" Dev's sister-in-law Sunaina raised an eyebrow as she walked into the kitchen, drawn in by the delicious smell. She smiled broadly after taking a cautious mouthful. "Anna, yah sachamuch aashcharyajanak hai! Mujhe nahi pata tha ki tum itane chef ho. Dev tumhe paakar dhany hai(this is really wonderful! I had no idea you were such a chef. Dev is blessed to have you!)" Tej, Dev's elder brother, valued the work Anna put into the traditional meal. With a nod of approval, he tasted the flavors. "Acha kaam kiya, Anna. Hamane lambe samay se ghar ka svaad nahi chakha hai. Yah aashcharyajanak hai(Job well done, Anna. We haven't tasted home in a long time. This is amazing.)" Masoom, Dev's sarcastic younger sister, who had before made fun of Anna, was now unable to contain her happiness. "Theek hai, Anna, tumane mujhe jeet liya hai.Ye kaafi svaadisht hai. Mujhe recipe ki aavashyakata ho sakati hai(All right, Anna, you have won me over. This is quite tasty. I might need the recipe.)" Anna's culinary skills pleasantly astonished Aarti, Dev's modern mother. "Mujhe kahana hogi, Anna-tumane meri apekshaon ko paar kar liya hai. Yah svaad sanyojan vaastav mein aanandadaayak hai(I have to say, Anna—you've surpassed my expectations. This flavor combo is really enjoyable.)" Rajesh, Dev's father, expressed his appreciation for Anna's effort in learning traditional foods and thoroughly loved the meal. "Utkrsht kaary, beta. Main isamen apane grhanagar ke svaadon ka svaad le sakata hoon(Excellent work, beta. I can taste flavors from our hometown in this.)" Hoshiyaar or Jiju, Dev's brother-in-law, couldn't help but give a big thumbs up to show how happy he was. "Anna, aap bilkul sahi hain! Mujhe isaki lat lag gayi hai. Aapane shaanadaar kaam kiya(you're exactly right! I'm addicted to it. You did a fantastic job!)" With a gleam in his eye, Chacha (Ram), Dev's uncle, tried the dish and remarked how realistic the flavors were. "Anna, aap vaastav mein hamaari sanskrti ke saar ko pakadane mein kaamayaab rahe hain. Bahut badhiya saamaan(you've really managed to capture the essence of our culture. Terrific stuff!)" Ragini or Chachi, Dev's aunt, complimented Anna on the delightful meal and related her own stories about her interactions with similar traditional foods. "Yah mujhe vaapas laata hai, Anna. Isamen vishaad ki hava hai. Aashcharyajanak(This brings me back, Anna. It has an air of nostalgia. Wonderful!)" Isha, Dev's cousin sister, grinned broadly and complemented Anna on her culinary skills. "Anna bhabhi, yah sachamuch aashcharyajanak hai! Nishchit roop se, aapako adhik baar khaana pakaane ki zaroorat hai. I love this(this is really wonderful! Definitely, you need to cook more often. I love it.)" Duggu, the son of Hoshiyaar and Masoom, delighted in the tastes, his eyes shining with pleasure. "Mom,yah svaadisht hai! Kya yah hamaare liye dobaara sambhav hait(his is delicious! Is it possible for us to have it again?)" Dev, grinning proudly as he watched the reactions, shot Anna a loving glance."Anna, aapane khud ko maat de di hai. Ye vaaki adbhut hai. Hamane shaayad ek nae parivaar ka pasandeeda khoj liya hai(you've outdone yourself. This is really amazing. We may have discovered a new family favorite.)" Laughter and conversation filled the dining area as the family enjoyed the meal together, fostering precious recollections around the table. Talk about Anna's culinary success was a pleasure for days to come. The kids were playing in the backyard with their beloved Chachi, Anna, while the sun was setting low in the sky, creating a pleasant glow. As everyone got together for a wonderful and carefree afternoon, laughter echoed. The first to join Anna were Lakhan and Ram, the adopted kids of Tej and Sunaina. They ran over, beaming, eager to engage in some outdoor activities. "Hey guys!Kya hoga agar hamane luka-chipi ya tag khelane ki koshish ki(What if we tried playing hide-and-seek or tag?)" Ram is tagged by Lakhan. "Tag!Main sabase tez hoon(I'm fastest of all.)" Ram follows in his footsteps. "No way! Lakhan, main tumhe pakad loonga(I'll catch you!)" With infinite enthusiasm, Masoom and Hoshiyaar's son, Duggu, joined the gang. He tugged at Anna's sleeve, ready to get involved. "Kya hum bhi bulabulon se khel sakate hain, Anna mami? Please(Can we also play with bubbles, Anna Mami? Would you please?)" Anna hugs him tightly. "Haan, Duggu! Yah bulabule hain. Chalo, ek chulbuli dopahar guzaaren(Yes, Duggu! It's bubbles. Come on, let's have a bubbly afternoon!)" Isha, the sister of Dev's cousin, arrived with a basket filled with vibrant craft items. "Good morning all of you!Agar humane kuch kala aur shilp banae to kya hoga? Main chamak, kaagaz aur jal rang laaya(What if we created some art and crafts? I brought glitter, paper, and watercolors.)" Anna is happy because a long time has gone by. "Bahut badhiya vichaar, Isha! Aaie, rachnatmak banen(Excellent idea, Isha! Come on, let's be creative!)" The cheeky brother-in-law, Hoshiyaar, was unable to resist the opportunity to take part in the festivities. "Yahaan kya ho raha hai? Agar main shaamil ho jaoon to kya aapako koi aapatti hog(What is going on here? Would you mind if I joined?)" Anna grinned. "Adhik hamesha behatar hota hai! Maitreepoorn rassaakashi match ke baare mein kya khayaal hai(More is always better! What about a friendly tug-of-war match?)" Hoshiyaar grinned. "You're on!" The backyard was suddenly a bustling playground. While Anna, Isha, and Hoshiyaar watched over and took part in the activities, the kids giggled and played. The boys played tag as they raced around, their laughter filling the air. Anna jumped in, tagging the kids in a lighthearted manner while showcasing her athleticism. "Ram,tum mujhe mil gae! Agala kaun aayega(I got you! Who will come next?)" Duggu released bright bubbles into the air, his eyes twinkling. The kids laughed and popped the flying spheres as they ran after them. Hoshiyaar set up a friendly game of tug-of-war, in which Anna led one team as the anchor. The children fought courageously and even Hoshiyaar had to struggle against their united might. "Aap log shaktishaali hain! Tum chupe hue hathiyaar ho, Anna(You guys are powerful! You're the hidden weapon, Anna!)" The children's happy energy and laughter reverberated in the air as the sun sank below the horizon. The kids treasured their time with Anna, which helped to create a happy, loving, and connected family environment.

Warm orange and pink tones filled the air as Dev and Anna made the decision to take a peaceful break from everyday life. They discovered themselves on their home's patio, where a light breeze brushed the leaves and the stars overhead were starting to glitter in the fading light. With a few of flickering candles adding a romantic touch, Dev had set up a warm blanket on the terrace floor. A gentle tune drifted in the background, and a little table with two wine glasses set there was the perfect setting for a peaceful evening spent together. "Dev,yah bahut sundar hai. Kya avasar hai(this is very beautiful. What's the occasion?)" Dev gives her a smile. "Anna, koi avasar nahi hai. Mujhe bas aapake saath sitaaron ke neeche ek shaantipoorn shaam bitaane ki umeed thi(there's no occasion. I just hoped to have a peaceful evening beneath the stars with you.)" The warmth of the evening enveloped them as they lay on the blanket. They exchanged a sweet look as Dev poured the wine and they clinked glasses. "Hamaare liye, aur aise kshanon ke liye(To us, and to moments like these.)" They relaxed and stared up at the starry sky. Their private time was surrounded by a magnificent backdrop as if the stars were smiling at them. "Dev,kya aap kabhi sitaaron ke baare mein sochate hain? Hamaari tarah, har vyakti ke paas batane ke liye ek kahaani hai(do you ever think about the stars? Like us, every individual has a story to tell.)" Dev looks at them. "Mujhe keval unaki paravaah hai jo mujhe tumhaare paas lae hain(I only care about the ones that brought me to you.)"  Dev got to his feet and held out his hand to Anna, asking her to dance beneath the moon. Embraced by one another, they moved to the soothing tunes. Dev and Anna were sitting on the patio as the evening wore on, their faces softly shadowed by the faint glow of the candles. A gentle wind blew through the air, and the stars in the night sky twinkled. Unaware that Anna held a secret part of her past, Dev gazed lovingly at her. With a deep breath, Anna looked off into the distance. Dev noticed a change in her attitude. "What's on your mind, Anna?" Anna has tears in her eyes. "Dev,kuch aisa hai jo maine tumhe kabhi nahi bataya. Mere ateet se kuch(there's something I've never told you. Something from my past.)"Dev sensed the vulnerability in Anna's voice and softened his gaze. "Anna, bejhijhak mere saath kuch bhi saajha karen. Yah hamaare hisse mein hai(feel free to share anything with me. We have this in share.)" Anna can remember her flashbacks. "Koi tumse pehle tha. Usaka naam Edward tha(Someone was before you. His name was Edward.)" Anna's eyes showed a range of emotions as she related a life story that had influenced her in a way that Dev was clueless of. "Meri pahale pati Edaward the. Vah meri sampoorn brahmaand tha, aur hum avibhajya the(My first husband was Edward. He was my entire universe, and we were inseparable.)" A mixture of surprise and empathy changed on Dev's face. "Mujhe kabhi nahi pata tha ki mujhase pahale bhi tumhare paas koi tha(I never knew you had someone before me.)" Anna went on, explaining the events that led to Edward's departure in a tone that was heavy with grief. "Vahaan ek vishesh sthaan tha, ek bridge, jahaan hum ekatr hote the. Ek din ek durghatna ghati(There was a special location, a bridge, where we used to get together. An accident occurred one day.)" Dev's hand extended to comfort Anna silently as his eyes grew wide. "Anna, mujhe anumaan nahi tha. Mujhe khed hai(I had no idea. I am sorry.)" Dev calmly waited while Anna had a minute to gather herself and gave her the space she needed. "Edward ka nidhan dukhad tha. Unake jaldi chale jaane ka duhkh main apane saath lekar aaya hoon(Edward's passing was tragic. I've carried the sorrow of his early departure from me with me.)" Dev cleans away his own tears. "Anna, mujhe nahi pata ki tumhe kya sahana pada. Main ise mere saath saajha karane ke liye aapaka dhanyavad karata hoon(I have no idea what you suffered. I thank you sharing this with me.)" Dev gave Anna a light grip on the hand to let her know that he was there for her. The darkness all around them seems to provide a cocoon of understanding. "Anna, hum sabhi ka ateet raha hai. Main is baat ki saraahana karata hoon ki aap mujh par itana vishvaas karate hain ki apani baat saajha kar saken(we've all had pasts. I appreciate that you believe in me enough to share yours.)" When Anna finished speaking, the burden subsided, and Dev gathered her in a reassuring hug. Beyond all romantic expectations, Dev's stare was a mixture of compassion and affection. Silently supporting her, he reached for Anna's hand. "Anna, aapane bahut kuch anubhav kiya hai. Main chaahata hoon ki aap jaanen ki bhale hi aap ki bhavana badal gai hain, lekin aapake liye mera bhaavanaen vaisi hi hain(you've experienced so much. I want you to know that even though your feelings have changed, mine for you stay same.)" Anna was moved by the honesty in Dev's comments as she met his gaze. Even though his love wasn't returned in kind, she had always appreciated their relationship and his affection for her. "Meri chattaan tum ho, Dev. Bhale hi maine tumhe hamesha usi tarah nahi dekhi, lekin tumhaara pyaar hamesha mere liye raha hai(My rock has been you, Dev. Even though I didn't always see you the same way, your love has always been there for me.)"  With a gentle gesture, Dev tucked a hair strand behind Anna's ear. "Pyaar ek jatil bhaavana hai, Anna. Hamaara khajaana khaas hai. Main aapaka samarthan karane ke liye hamesha upalabdh hoon(Love is a complex emotion, Anna. Our treasure is special. I'm always available to support you.)" Anna was overwhelmed with gratitude for the man standing next to her, who had supported her in good times and bad, even if she was unable to reciprocate his love. "Dev,maine kabhi bhi aap jaise dayaalu aur samajhdaar vyakti ka saamana nahi kiya. Main apane jeevan mein aapaki nirbharta ki saraahana karata hoon(I've never encountered someone as compassionate and understanding as you. I appreciate your dependability in my life.)"

As the night went on, Dev and Anna embraced a love that, although unconventional, had great meaning in their lives and found comfort in their mutual awareness of their special connection. The following evening, Dev, Isha's husband, Hoshiyaar, and Deep, his best friend, were all in a club. As Hoshiyaar, Deep, and Dev celebrated a fun-filled night, the club was illuminated by colorful neon lights and throbbing beats of music. They had no idea that their enjoyable evening would soon come to an end. Deep, Hoshiyaar, and Dev were having a great time dancing and taking in the vibrant club scene. The dance floor was lively with rhythmic energy that mirrored their carefree demeanor, and the music was loud. Deep's wife, Isha, who is Dev's cousin sister, noticed the three of them among the throng of people. Her face changed from one of surprise and amazement to a clear-cut fury at seeing her brother and spouse having a party. With her eyes fixed on the three, Isha forced her way through the dancing crowd. She came to them with an unmistakable motive. "Aap teenon kya sochate hain ki aap kya kar rahe hain(What on earth do you three think you're doing?!)" Deep, Hoshiyaar, and Dev exchanged regretful looks as they realized they had been discovered. Isha kept saying things that she didn't like, and the music seemed to go away. Dev attempted to smile sheepishly, but it was ineffective at easing the tension. "Dev,mujhe vishwas nahi ho raha ki aap yahaan hain. Aur tum kya soch rahe the, Hoshiyaar? Aur Deep, mujhe laga ki tum behatar hoge(I can't believe you're here. And what were you thinking, Hoshiyaar? And Deep, I thought you would be better!)" Due to the effects of the drinks they had consumed, Dev and the others tried to explain themselves, their words slurred and their faces confused. "Yah to bas ek raat hai, Isha. Hum apana aanand le rahe hain(It's just a night out, Isha. We're enjoying ourselves.)" Isha frowns. "Maza? Dev, tumhe is tarah apani manoranjan nahi karani chaahiye. Tum aise nahi ho(Fun? Dev, this isn't how you should be entertaining yourself. You're not like this.)" Ever the broker of peace, Hoshiyaar moved forward to mediate when he sensed the tension growing. "Isha, please ki tamaasha na banaen. Chalo bhi. Hum bas bhaap uda rahe hain(please don't make a scene. Come on. We're just blowing steam.)" Isha is furious. "Bhaap ud rahi hai? Aap log itane nashe mein hain ki yah bhi nahi pahachaan pa rahe ki yah kitana reckless hai(Blowing steam? You people are far too drunk to even recognize how reckless this is.)" They could hear Isha's disapproval in their ears, so they grudgingly decided to leave the club. Isha led the way as they staggered through the crowd, her expression showing a mixture of worry and irritation. "Hum maafi maangate hain Isha. Hamaara iraada aapako pareshaan karane ka nahi tha(We apologize Isha. We didn't mean to upset you.)" Isha remains enraged. "Ise tab tak bachaakar rakhen jab tak aap kal shaant na ho jaen. Aaie milakar is jagah ko chode(Save that until when you're sober tomorrow. Together, let's leave this place.)" Isha called for a cab, and the three of them entered as she kept an eye on them. The realization of what they had done set in as the taxi withdrew from the club. Dev stumbled into the backyard, his movements shaky from the affects of the alcohol, and the night air was chilly. A surreal scene met him as soon as he stepped inside. With bubbles floating in the air, lights glittering overhead, and a trail of flowers heading to the center, the garden was turned into a magnificent scene. Dev tried to focus his sleepy eyes by blinking. Normally a familiar area, the backyard appeared to be a fantastical fantasy. He swayed a little, taking in the dreamlike ambiance. With a naughty sparkle in her eyes, Anna stood among the stars and bubbles, grasping a bubble wand. She saw Dev's response with a bashful smile. "Dev,tumane to mujhe chaunka hi diya! Kya aapako yah pasand hai(you surprised me! Do you like it?)" Still attempting to make sense of the amazing scene, Dev chuckled. "Kya...yah sab kya hai, Anna(What... What's all this, Anna?)" In a state of intoxication, Dev experienced an intense wave of love for Anna, as if the stars were aligning. He clumsily flung off his jacket and walked over to her without hesitating. "Tum adbhut ho, Anna(You're amazing, Anna." Dev's surprise compliment made Anna blush.

Before she could reply, Dev suddenly showed guts and leaned in to give her a romantic kiss on her lips. For an instant, everything around them appeared to come to a stop. "Main kaafi samay se aisa karana chaah raha tha(I've been wanting to do that for a long time.)" Startled by the unexpected kiss, Anna flushed furiously. She pushed Dev aside in jest, putting some space between them. "Dev,tum nashe mein ho! Tum itane tedhe kaise ho gaye(you're intoxicated! How did you get so twisted?)" Still grinning asymmetrically, Dev extended his hand to take hers. "Shaayad main sirph tumhaare nashe mein hoon(Maybe I'm just intoxicated by you.)" When Anna realized what was happening, she laughed and stepped back, putting some playfulness between them. "Aisa lagata hai ki aapake sone ka samay ho gaya hai, Mistar Nashe. Jab aap svasth honge to hum is par charcha kar sakate hain(It appears that it's time for you to go to sleep, Mr. Intoxicated. We can discuss this when you're healthy.)" Dev laughed at his own bold action, now that he was fully aware of the amusing mood he had wandered into. "Aap sahi hain, Anna. Ho sakata hai mainne bahut jyaada kha liya ho(You are correct, Anna. I may have consumed too many.)" They laughed into the night as Anna guided Dev in the direction of the house. With a playful smile, Dev turned to face Anna as they approached the entrance. "Main tumhe us baatacheet mein shaamil kar loonga, tumhe pata hai(I'll hold you to that conversation, you know.)" With her cheeks still red from the surprising turn of events, Anna winked. "Goodnight!"Dev remained in the backyard, the magnificent scene still enveloping him, as Anna vanished into the house. Even in his intoxicated state, he had chanced onto a moment of enchantment and an unplanned, wonderful first kiss, which made him smile. Recalling the magical happenings of the previous evening, Anna made the decision to tell the house's ladies of the specifics early the following morning. She collected everyone in the living room, which was brightly lit by the morning sun. Anna smiled merrily as she started to tell Dev about the quirky surprise she had planned and the unanticipated turn of events. "Ladies, kal raat mainne hamaare bageeche mein bulabule, gulab aur sitaaron se bhara yah mantramugdh drshy prastut kiya. Aage jo hua vo aapako hairaan kar dega(last night I set up this enchanted scene in our garden complete with bubbles, roses, and stars. What happened next will astound you!)" Isha leaned forward, captivated by Anna's preview. "Hamen batao, Anna bhabhi! ya hua(Tell us, Anna bhabhi! What took place?)" Dev's aunt Ragini joined in on the fun. "Kitani bhavy pichavaada hai! Main isake baare mein sab kuch jaanane ke liye utsuk hoon.(What a gorgeous backyard! I am eager to learn everything about it.)" Dev's sister-in-law Sunaina arched an eyebrow, intrigued. Masoom, who was always outspoken, added a cheeky smile to his comment. "Theek hai, Anna, tathy saamane aane do! Hamen har vivaran ki jaroorat hai(All right, Anna, let the facts out! We need every detail.)" Anna continued talking about the stars, the bubbles, the surprise, and the roses that had been placed in the backyard. The women leaned in with a mixture of astonishment and laughter when she got to the part about Dev's surprise kiss. "Aur phir, kaheen se bhi, vah apana jacket utaarata hai, mujhe kiss kiya hai, aur kahata hai ki vah lambe samay se aisa karana chaahata tha(And then, out of nowhere, he takes off his jacket, kisses me, and says he's been wanting to do that for a long time!)" Isha was giggling uncontrollably, her eyes wide. "Aap mujhe bata rahe hain ki Dev ne nashe mein aur bulabule se ghire hue aapake saath ek romantic pal bitaane ka phaisala kiya? Classical(You're telling me that Dev decided to have a romantic moment with you while intoxicated and surrounded by bubbles? Classical.)" Ragini laughed heartily, thinking the whole situation hilarious. "Anna, are baap re! Mujhe nahi pata tha ki hamaare Dev ka itana pyaar bhara paksh hai. Aur yah sochana ki yah drshy hamaara pichavaada tha(oh my! I had no idea that our Dev had a such a loving side. And to think that our backyard was the scene of it!)" Despite her initial surprise, Sunaina couldn't help but smile. "Khair, aisa lagata hai jaise usane ek yaadagaar raat guzaari, aapake jaadui sparsh ke liye dhanyavaad, Anna(Well, it seems like he had a memorable night, thanks to your magical touch, Anna.)" Masoom couldn't help but laugh as she noticed something odd in her eye. "Kisane kalpana ki hogi? Dev, sharaabi romantic. Anna, tumane kuch jaadoo kar diya hai(Who would have imagined? Dev, the drunken romantic. Anna, you've done some magic.)" The women carried on joking and chatting about their surprise romantic outing. While they relished the playful moment, Anna couldn't help but be appreciative of the relationship she had with the women in Dev's life. "Khair, main jaadoo ke baare mein nahi jaanata, lekin mujhe lagata hai ki hamaara pichavaada hamesha khaas rahega. Hamaare liye aur kya aashchary intazaar mein hain(Well, I dunno about the magic, but I suppose our backyard will always be special. What more surprises are in wait for us?)" Laughing and joking together, the women spent the morning enjoying the story of the enchanted backyard. Little did they know that Aarti, who had slept well the night before, would awaken to an unexpected and hilarious story of what had happened the night before.
