Manorama ki Napharat
Agnes was involved in another accident on a busy day in the city, this time with Sunny's strict and traditional paternal aunt, Manorama. However, Manorama immediately expressed his unjustified scorn for the incident. "Dekho ki kahaan tumhe jaana hai! Aap jaise logo ko in sadako par nahi hona chaahiye(Watch where you're going! People like you are not supposed to be on these streets.)" Khushiś seems dejected. "Mujhe kshama kare ji. Yah galati se hua tha(I am sorry ma'am. It was by mistake.)" Manorama was not just upset by the incident; her disapproval of Agnes stemmed from her contempt for her strange manner, behavior, and lively personality. "Aap jaise log hi hamaare samaaj ko nasht karate hai. Yahaan aapaki tarah ki jaroorat nahi hai(People such as yourselves destroy our society. Your kind is not needed here.)" Agnes frowns. "Ma'am,main koi samasya paida karane ki koshish nahi kar raha tha. Main bas apana din jaari rakh raha hoon(I wasn't trying to cause any problems. I'm simply carrying on with my day.)" Manorama's biases prevented her from seeing past the first meeting, when she sneered at Agnes's outfit and casual manner. "Usake kapadon ki pasand par gaur kare! Hamaari sanskrti ke aadarshon ka anaadar(Observe her clothing choices! Disrespect for the ideals of our culture.)" Agnes examines her sleeveless churidar that she is wearing. "Ma'am,main jo hoon us par mujhe garv hai. Mera matalab kisi ka anaadar nahi hai(I take pride in who I am. I mean no disrespect to anyone.)" Manorama, who was raised with strong traditional beliefs, was disgusted by Agnes's seeming disdain for the norms of society. "Aap jaise log is shahar ka naitik aadhaar kho rahe hai. Ise bakhsha nahi jaega(People such as you are causing this city to lose its moral core. It won't go unpunished.)" Agnes takes offense. "Main apani jado ka sammaan karate hue badalaav ko apanaane mein vishvaas karata hoon,ji(I believe in embracing change while respecting our roots, ma'am.)" Agnes tried to ease the tension, but Manorama was irrational in her hatred and would not see past her preconceptions. "Main phir kabhi tumhaara chehara nahi dekhana chaahata. Hamaare parivaar se door raho(I want to never again see your face. Stay away from our family.)" Agnes felt the tears. "Ma'am,meree isaki koi yojana nahi thi. Main bas ek galati ka praayashchit karane ki koshish kar raha hoon(I had none of this planned. I'm simply trying to atone for an error.)" Agnes was the victim of Manorama's unjustified hatred in this conflict of beliefs and ideals. She had no idea that this incident would throw a wrench in her relationships with Sunny's extended family and create a problem that went beyond a simple run-in on the city's crowded streets. Agnes had no idea that Manorama's hatred for her vivacious and outlandish personality had turned into a cunning scheme. Manorma started secretly damaging Agnes's Chikankari saree company, driven by her enmity. "Mere graahak customers saariyon ke baare mein shikaayat kyon karate rahate hai? Kya ho raha hai(Why do my customers keep complaining about sarees that are damaged? What's happening?)" Manorama was determined to bring Agnes down, so she secretly sought after the beautiful Chikankari sarees, slashing and shredding them before they could reach the consumers. "Yah bahut vinaashakaari hai. Aisa kaun kar sakata hai? Main is business mein vaastav mein kadi mehanat karata hoon(This is very devastating. Who could be doing this? I work really hard at this business.)" Agnes was baffled as to who would attempt to destroy her company and damage her well-earned image as more and more complaints came in and her reputation began to suffer. "Mujhe nahi pata ki aisa kyon ho raha hai. Mainne hamesha kaarobaar ko eemaanadaari se sambhaala hai(I don't know why this is taking place. I've always handled business with honesty.)" Agnes started to feel the effects of the sabotage's emotional and financial pressure. She lost her hopes and dreams with every damaged saree. Agnes is inconsolable. "I'm not sure how long I can continue like this. Everything is crumbling." Manorama, meanwhile, was rejoicing in her covert triumph and the destruction that she had brought about. Her baseless animosity towards Agnes turned into an implicit effort to demolish all that the enthusiastic young lady had created. "Let her understand her place in life. Her kind is unnecessary around us." Agnes did not realize who was pulling the strings to bring her down as she was fighting an invisible enemy that was destroying her business. She had no idea that the very family she had accidentally met paths with was home to a silent enemy who was out to destroy her. Agnes and Lynette, Sunny's sister, happened to cross paths at a nearby market by accident. Misunderstandings resulted in a heated discussion, which paved the way for a negative conclusion. "Dekho tum kahaan ja rahe ho(Watch where you're going!)" Agnes is perplexed. "Maaf kare? Tum mere paar daude(Excuse me? You ran across me!)" Feeling betrayed and angry, Lynette told the family only her version of what happened, leaving out important elements that would have made things more clear. "Agnes sachamuch asabhy thi! Usane hamaare parivaar ka apamaan kiya aur jaanaboojhakar mujhase takarai(Agnes was really rude! She insulted our family and deliberately ran into me.)" Ammachi was dejected about who to believe. "Main vishvaas nahi kar sakata ki Agnes aisa karegi. Aaie ghatanao ke baare mein usaka sanskaran sune(I can't believe Agnes would do that. Let's hear her version of events.)" Manorama took advantage of the moment to further sow division within the family, driven by her hatred for Agnes. She spun a web of lies to damage Agnes's reputation by manipulating the story to further her objectives. "Agnes Sunny aur Tara ki sagai ko nasht karane ki koshish kar rahi hai. Usake man mein usake prati junoon hai(Agnes is trying to destroy Sunny and Tara's engagement. She has an obsession for him!)"
Manorama's husband Thomas is taken aback. "Kya? Yah possible nahi hai(What? That is not possible.)" Within the family, word of Agnes' alleged involvement in ruining Sunny's engagement quickly became widely shared. Whispers and accusations pervaded the atmosphere, leaving Agnes confused and determined to clear her identity. "Main aisi harakat kabhi nahi karoonga! Tara aur Sunny ek adbhut jodi hai(I would never do such action! Tara and Sunny make a wonderful couple.)" During the confusion, Agnes angrily rejected the charges and they got into a violent quarrel. The tension built up to the point that Manorama was about to act violently because she was unable to control her resentment. "Tum sach nahi kah rahe ho! Main tumhe sabak sikhaoonga(You're not telling the truth! I'll teach you a lesson!)" Sunny is furious. As Manorma raised her hand to strike Agnes, Sunny immediately intervened and blocked the blow meant for Agnes. "Ab bahut ho gaya hai! Is araajakata ko roke! Main tumhe use chot nahi pahunchaane doonga(Enough is enough! Put a stop to this chaos! I won't let you hurt her.)" Ammachi gasps in surprise. "Sunny, what have you done?" The family watched in shock as Sunny sacrificed to keep Agnes safe. They were astonished to learn this, and the family's dynamics took an unanticipated and dramatic turn as a result. Shrouded in deceit and hate, the truth was finally exposed, forcing the family to face the consequences resulting from their deeds and the poisonous effect of Manorama's resentment.
Drenched in tears, Agnes left the family home, overwhelmed by the charges and the unforeseen turn of events. She went to a neighboring park where she could be alone and quiet. A whisper is coming from Agnes's lips. "Sab kuch itana galat kaise ho gaya(How did everything go so wrong?)" Having seen the whole thing, Rony followed behind Agnes to offer support.
Her emotions were a raging tempest when he saw her seated on a bench. "Agnes, sab kuch theek ho jaega. Manorama ne had paar kar di thi(everything will work out. Manorma had crossed the line.)" Agnes feels depressed. "Yah avishvasaneey hai ki aisa ho raha hai. Vah mujhase itani napharat kyon karati hai(It's unbelievable that this is happening. Why does she hate me so strongly?)" Unable to watch Agnes suffer, Rony drew her into a possessive embrace. He wanted to reassure her that she wasn't alone and acknowledged the seriousness of the false charges. "Manorama ne kathor shabd kahe. Unhe tumhe todane ki anumati mat do(Manorma said harsh words. Don't allow them to shatter you.)" Agnes is astonished by the act and is sniffling. "Bahut bahut dhanyavaad, Rony. Yah vah nahi tha jisaki mujhe aasha thi(Thanks a lot, Rony. This wasn't what I expected.)" Sunny's sudden arrival cut short the moment of comfort Rony and Agnes were experiencing. The gravity of the event was mirrored in his twisted expression of wrath. "Agnes, hame baat karane ki jaroorat hai(we need to talk.)" Rony gave Sunny a scowl. "Main tum dono ko kuch jagah doonga. Agnes, yah kabhi mat bhoolo ki tum yah akele nahi kar rahi ho(I'll give you two some space. Agnes, never forget that you're not doing this alone.)" Agnes was by herself with Sunny, preparing herself for the showdown. She was expecting rage or accusations, so she was taken aback when Sunny responded with assurance and conviction. "Mujhe nahi lagata ki Manorama sach hai. Agnes, main tumhaari begunaahi se vaakiph hoon(I don't think Manorama is true. Agnes, I am aware of your innocence.)" Agnes feels enraged. "Tum mere liye kyon khade ho? Aakhir kya ho gaya(Why do you stand up for me? After what has happened?)" Breaking the rules, Sunny gently grasped Agnes's wrist to prevent her from leaving. His statement revealed something unexpected. "Main Manorama ko bhi naapasand karata hoon. Main use aapaki pratishtha ko barbaad karane ki anumati dene se inakaar karata hoon kyonki vah jhooth phaila rahi hai(I also dislike Manorma. I refuse to allow her to ruin your reputation since she is spreading lies.)" Agnes is distraught. "Sunny, main nahi jaanata ki main kya kahoon(I don't know what to say.)" Sunny took Agnes by surprise by pulling her into a close embrace during an awkward and understanding moment. The embrace's warmth offered comfort in the middle of the chaos all around them. "Aapase bolane ke liye nahi kaha jaata. Agnes, main hakeekat se vaakiph hoon(You're not asked to speak. Agnes, I'm aware of the reality.)" Agnes discovered an unanticipated ally in Sunny as they stood in the park; their friendship was formed in the furnace of suffering. The unraveling of events had drawn them closer together, casting doubt based on the familial dynamics that had created such anguish as well as the charges.
Standing in the stillness of the park, Sunny inhaled deeply before speaking to Agnes. His eyes softened in intensity, exposing a surprise gesture. "Mainne accident ke baare mein bhoolane ka phaisala kiya hai. Lekin tumhe mujh tak pahunchane ke liye doosara raasta khojana hoga(I've decided to forget about the accident. But you'll have to find another way to make it up to me.)" Agnes is baffled. "Main ise aap tak kaise pahuncha sakata hoon(How can I make it up to you?)" Agnes was caught off guard when Sunny, wearing a trace of a smirk, suggested a somewhat surprising way to exact revenge. "Aap shaadi ki yojana banaane mein madad karane ja rahe hai. Tara aur meri sagai hone vaali hai, aur main kuch madad le sakata hoon(You are going to help with the planning for the wedding. Tara and I have an upcoming engagement, and I could use some help.)" Agnes is grinning. "Bas itana hi? Mujhe yakeen hai ki main vahaan sahaayata kar sakata hoon(Is that all? I'm sure I can be of assistance there.)" Agnes gladly accepted the offer, feeling relieved and pleased with the acceptable compensation. There appeared to be less friction between them and a hint of friendship. "Samajho ho gaya. Main yah dekhoonga ki aapaki shaadi ke liye sab kuch sahi ho(Consider it done. I'll see to it that everything is perfect for your wedding.)" Sunny, ever the arrogant one, kept his distance even after extending forgiveness. It was no longer as icy and nasty as it had been. "Yah mat sochie ki isase hamaara sambandh kisi bhi tarah badal jaega. Main bas vyaavahaarik hoon(Don't think this changes our connection in any way. I'm just being practical.)" Agnes gives an eye roll. "Mujhe pata hai. Jaisa ki vaada kiya gaya tha, main taiyaariyon mein madad karoonga(I know. As promised, I will help with the preparations.)" Agnes found herself navigating the minute intricacies with Sunny as she threw herself into the wedding planning. Their exchanges showed a small shift in circumstances, even though his haughtiness persisted. "Mainne kabhi nahi socha tha ki main tumhaari shaadi mein madad karoonga, Sunny(I never thought I'd be helping with your wedding, Sunny.)" Sunny grinned. "Jeevan mein aashchary hote rahate hain. Bas sunishchit kare ki sab kuch perfect hai(There are surprises in life. Just make sure everything is excellent.)" The cooperative effort started to foster a semblance of connection. A tenuous understanding emerged as the once-icy encounters somewhat thawed. "Sab kuch ke baavajood, mujhe ummeed hai ki Tara aur aapaki shaadi khoobasoorat hogi(Despite everything, I hope Tara and you have a beautiful wedding.)" Sunny gives a nod. "Yah behatar hoga. Koi galati bhi mat karana(It better be. Don't make any mistakes either.)" Agnes was faced with a new chapter as they got into the wedding preparations; it had unexpected turns and forced her and Sunny to reevaluate their perspectives in an attempt to find some common ground in the middle of the mayhem. Tara, decked to the nines in designer attire, met Agnes in the magnificent Thakadiel mansion, whose modesty and attractiveness of the middle class contrasted sharply. Tara projected a sophisticated class. "Aur aap kaun ho sakate hai(And who might you be?)" Agnes has a kind smile. "Main Agnes hoon, aur main shaadi ki yojana mein madad karane ke liye yahaan hoon. Tara, aapase milakar achcha laga(I'm Agnes, and I'm here to help with the wedding planning. Tara, nice to meet you.)" Tara, used to a world of elegance and refinement, couldn't help but assess Agnes because of her modest dress and sincere manner, which contrasted with her glitzy atmosphere. "Kya aap vivaah mein assisting kar rahe hai? Assistance ke liye ek interesting choice hai(Are you assisting with the nuptials? An interesting option for assistance.)" Agnes grinned once again. "Main yahaan sirph cheejon ko khoobasoorat banaane ke liye hoon(I'm just here to make things beautiful.)" It was clear from the conversation that Tara and Agnes were very different from one another. Agnes's simplicity and Tara's attitude made for a captivating dynamic. "Aap jaanate hai, main ek particular standard ka aadi hoon. Har cheez perfect honi chaahiye(You know, I'm used to a particular standard. Everything must be perfect.)" Agnes gives her standards a nod of agreement. "Main aapaki ummeedon par khara utarane ki poori koshish karoonga, Tara(I'll do my best to meet your expectations, Tara.)"
Their divergent tastes were revealed during the wedding arrangements. Agnes loved handmade, heartfelt details, but Tara liked the glitz of designer elements. "I believe we require greater sophistication. This is a wedding, after all." Agnes disagrees though. "I believe in adding a personal touch, making it special." As they navigated through their conflicting ideas, Agnes and Tara found themselves challenged to bridge the divide between their worlds. "Tum kaafi unconventional ho, Agnes(You're quite unconventional, Agnes.)" Agnes nods. "Aur aap luxury ke aadi hai. Hum ek santulan dhoondh lenge, Tara(And you're used to luxury. We'll find a balance, Tara.)" A fragile understanding started to take shape despite their differences. Agnes's genuine sincerity and Tara's elegant manner blended in a special way. "Aap simple ho sakate hai, lekin isame kuch taaza hai(You may be simple, but something is refreshing about it.)" Agnes has a lovely smile. "Aur aap glamorous ho sakate hai, lekin jo dikhata hai usase kaheen adhik aapamen hai(And you may be glamorous, but there's more to you than meets the eye.)" Agnes and Tara found that, despite their outward differences, respect for one another and possibly even a surprising bond were developing as the wedding plans took shape. Agnes was assigned the duty of arranging rose petals for the décor during the frantic wedding preparations. She glided through the room with grace, a tray full of the beautiful blossoms. As destiny would have it, Agnes lost her balance as her dupatta snagged on Sunny's button. Sunny reacted instinctively in that dangerous moment, grasping her just in time. Agnes seems startled. "Oh, dhanyavaad,Sunny(Oh, thank you, Sunny.)" The unexpected catch shook the tray of rose petals, causing them to fall onto the floor to create an unexpected cascade of fragrant flowers. "Aisa lagata hai jaise hum gulaabon ki bauchhaar mein phans gae hai(Looks like we're caught in a shower of roses.)" Their eyes met in an oddly intimate moment as they stood there, the air heavy with the lovely smell of flowers and their garments adorned with rose petals. Agnes was able to feel her heartbeat. "Mujhe isaki ummeed nahi thi(I didn't expect this.)" Agnes was taken aback by the intensity of the encounter because she was not used to such closeness or strange feelings. Sunny sensed a faint echo of a long-buried connection in the meantime. Sunny is thinking to himself. "Vah mujhe kisi ki yaad dilaati hai(She reminds me of someone.)" Time appeared to stop for a brief moment in their shared glance. For a few moments, Agnes's true simplicity and Sunny's reserved demeanor brought them together beyond the turmoil of the wedding preparations.
