30. Plan In Action

After watching SpongeBob SquarePants with Sa'eed dozing at intervals Halima finally decides it's high time she goes to bed, it's already after midnight anyways.

She goes to check on the lights, gas cooker and electrical appliances. Aleesha peeks through the door separating the small parlor and the passage leading to the staircase.

Sa'eed is dozing and Halima is nowhere in sight, perfect! Aleesha stirs the milk with her well manicured nail that has an extension attached to it. The substance Lash gave her is inside so it should kick in tomorrow. To avoid Sa'eed regaining his memories, Aleesha is going to take the last step tomorrow, afterall, the waiting is just time wastage.

"Romeo." Aleesha calls Sa'eed and he looks at her with groggy eyes then hisses. Even while half conscious, he's still maintaining the grudge.

"Romeo, I'm sorry. I was just angry, you know how I get when I'm angry. My brain just shuts down completely. I'm sorry. If you've forgiven me please drink this buttermilk." Sa'eed looks at her warily but gulps the buttermilk anyway. A wave of dizziness overpowers him or maybe it's just the sleep. He doesn't care, his wife should just finish whatever she's doing and come so they can go to bed.

Halima comes back to the parlor to find Sa'eed still dozing on the couch. Chuckling, Halima manages to get Sa'eed up and they trudge upstairs to their room where Sa'eed doesn't even bother to change before falling asleep.

The next day, Sa'eed wakes up and out of mere curiosity, looks over to his right. Lo and behold, there lays Halima sleeping, a crease on her forehead and her mouth slightly ajar due to her inability to breathe, the mounds on her chest slightly peeking to wish Sa'eed a good morning.

Normally, that would have been a beautiful sight but today, something seems different. He doesn't know how or why but all of a sudden a wave of repulsiveness overwhelm him and he can't resist the urge to push Halima off the bed as her mere presence disgusts him. He uses so much strength that she falls to the ground with a very loud thud that wakes Aleesha who's sleeping next door.

Aleesha rushes to see Sa'eed shaking his head trying to shake the hatred off while Halima sleepily rubs her eyes trying to get rid of the sleep in them to ask how in the world of flying monkeys she got to the ground. She knows she doesn't move aimlessly while sleeping , she's a peaceful sleeper so how did she end up on the ground?

"Ya Omri, how did I fall?" Halima asks and Sa'eed scurries to the ground and drags Halima up.

"I pushed you off, sorry. You wouldn't wake up so..." Sa'eed grins cheekily and Halima nods, understanding Sa'eed's plight. She's a heavy sleeper.

Halima checks her phone and the time reads 6.37am. Ya Allah! She hasn't even prayed Subh nor has she prepared breakfast for Sa'eed. And he needs to be at work as early as 7.00am. That's twenty three minutes from now.

Halima rushes to the bathroom, performs ablution and hurriedly prays, totally ditching the Raka'atanil Fajr. It's too late for a Nafilah anyway.

Dashing into the kitchen, Halima decides on the easiest breakfast she can think of; indomie noodles, boiled egg and pap. In less than twenty minutes, she's done and Sa'eed is in the small parlor trying so hard with a frustrated face to knot his tie.

"Ya Omri let me help." Halima walks up to Sa'eed and knots his tie. All the while, Sa'eed is resisting the urge to strangle the living daylight out of her. He's trying so hard to keep himself in check.

"Done." Sa'eed smiles and Halima lays the food on the table. They eat in peaceful silence and soon enough, Sa'eed leaves for work.

"Twelve hours, twelve hours is all I need to make Sa'eed mine." Aleesha appears in the kitchen as Halima sprinkles some salt in the vegetable soup. She's making pounded yam, peppered chicken and spinach and water leaves soup.

"Hahaha, what a dry joke." Halima smiles dryly and turns to starts pounding the yam. She doesn't have time for Aleesha's stupid baseless arguments. The doorbell chimes making Halima think, who could it be? She isn't expecting any guest and Sa'eed wouldn't be back till around 9pm, and it's just 3pm.

Strolling to the door, Halima opens it and walks to the gate, they really need a gateman. She'll talk to Sa'eed about it. Opening the door, she's surprised to see Sa'eed's cyan G-wagon. Why in the world of flying dolphins is he back so early from work? She's barely done with the soup, she just started pounding the yam.

Sa'eed jumps on Halima and chuckles heartily. What could be making him so happy?

"Chocolate guess what?"

"You found a ghana must go filled with real foreign dollars?" Halima raises her brows.

"No silly. I got promoted!" Halima squeals and together with her crazy husband, they jump up and down laughing gaitily. Aleesha sights them from the door and shakes her head. This will be their last moment of happiness together, they better bask in it. They should enjoy it while it lasts.

Sa'eed walks inside and they both finish the cooking together. After they both finish eating, they wash the dishes while making light conversations here and there. As Sa'eed goes upstairs to change, Halima stays behind to call Ammi.

"Assalamu Alaikum Ammi! I mish you." Halima pouts and she can imagine Innayo shaking her head with a loving smile on her young motherly face, the beautiful woman still looks nothing older than thirty despite being forty nine years old.

"Keh yarinyar nan, you've forgotten me right? Anyi aure an manta da iyaye. I'm sure you've not talked to your mother too." Ammi scolds making Halima pout again.

"Ammi it's all your son fah. He doesn't allow me do anything."

"This girl! Sa'eed is rubbing off on you, you're becoming shameless koh?" Ammi chuckles and Halima smiles, she's her second mother.

After exchanging pleasantries, Ammi tells Halima about the improvements in Fatima's therapy and Halima feigns hurt.

"Haba Ammi, gaskiya I'm angry at her. So she can't call her life long bestie and tell her. I'm so hurt!" Ammi chuckles, trust Halima to be dramatic.

"Kunfi kusa." Halima pouts and after exchanging another set of pleasantries, Halima ends the call to call her best friend. Immediately Fatima picks the call, Halima shouts.

"Fatima Abba Sulayman! Mai anguwarku ya hau jar reza bah wando! So you can't even call somebody and tell them anything? No problem, I've always known that I'm the one that cares about you." Halima clicks her tongue.

"Ya Ilahi Halli shut up! I was just about calling you." Halima scoffs, muttering something along the lines of 'as if'.

"I'm not kidding. I'm going to be unreachable for the next like two to three months." Halima shouts.

"Amma bakida mutunci wallahi. So you can't even tell me!" Halima screeches and Fatima manages to calm her down. After a few minutes they say their goodbyes for the next few months and Halima cuts the call.

Halima skips to her room to see Aleesha walking out with a satisfied smile on her lip. Her ebony orbs clashing with Aleesha's sable ones. Aleesha smirks, reminiscing what happened a few minutes ago.

Aleesha sprays the perfume Lash gave her and lines her inner and outer eye lines with the enchanted Kohl.

"Three clashes." Aleesha remembers. She uses the Kohl as mascara as she coats her short walnut lashes thrice with the Kohl. Perfect!

She waltzes out to Sa'eed's room and peeks to make sure Halima isn't there. Her thoughts are confirmed when she hears Halima's loud laughs echoing from downstairs, can it get any better?

She enters the room, swaying her hips left, right for more effect. She sits beside Sa'eed who glares at her due to the proximity. Islamically, he isn't her Mahram so he doesn't understand why she's rubbing her thighs with his.

"Aleesha what is it?" Sa'eed asks flummoxed. Their close proximity is doing things that normally only Halima can do to him. His toes are curling, which is quite weird for him.

"You're going to be mine within the next few seconds." Sa'eed laughs, this girl is very delusional.

"What a very cheap joke. We both know that's not possible." Sa'eed smiles softly, a picture of Halima flashing in front of his eyes.

"Look into my eyes and tell me it isn't true." Sa'eed can't stop himself so he looks at her sable orbs. Right now, her eyes are the most mesmerizing things ever. Those sable balls with brown dropped in them swimming in a beautiful pool of  ivory. He can get trapped in those gems from now till eternity.

Aleesha blinks once, twice, trice and boom! Sa'eed feels like he's being dragged into a dark abyss of oblivion, a black chasm, a bottomless lifeless pit. Suddenly, he starts inhaling black puffs from nothing and nowhere.

It's quite an agonizing sight but Aleesha doesn't care, she's been told that he might even go unconscious. She doesn't actually care, Sa'eed is hers, simple and short!

Aleesha walks away but not really. She waits for Halima to go inside before she starts waiting for the bomb to explode.

In three, two, one......

"Ya Omri." Halima places her hands on Sa'eed's shoulder only to get the shock of her life.

"Fucking keep your bloody hands to yourself! Fucktard!" Sa'eed pushes Halima so hard she lands hard on her butt she thinks she has cracked her pelvic bone.

Woah, where did that come from?
