TWO

"Hello Mick, hello Gina."

Gunther greeted his driver and his sister, before his eyes found the fidgeting brunette girl stood behind them, a few paces behind the siblings, with a coffee cup in her hand.

"Hello, other guest of Mick."

"This is Lennox." Mick introduced the girl to his Team Principal at Haas, before he turned to offer the girl a soft smile. One that didn't go unnoticed by the man in front of him. "She's Gina's best friend."

"Nice to meet you, Lennox. I'm Gunther, his boss." Lennox gulped nervously as the man offered her his hand to shake, biting at her lip as her body began to fill with nerves.

Gunther noticed that out of the corner of his eye, that his new driver was shaking his head softly, as if he was trying to be subtle in informing the man that the girl didn't like physical contact with people she didn't know.

Lennox breathed a quiet sigh of relief as the Italian man lowered his hand without asking questions.

"Hi." She smiled awkwardly, feeling uncomfortable. There was too much for her to concentrate on.

There were too many new people, and she was in a completely new location, one that she didn't know at all, and therefore did not know the escape routes in case of anything going wrong.

People here were friendly, and they often tried to speak to each other, even if it was just as they were passing each other, and it was completely new to what she was used to.

It was a total sensory overload for her, and she didn't know how exactly to deal with it. She wanted to run away, to hide, leave and never return, but she was Gina's best friend, and Gina was her best friend, she couldn't exactly leave her.

She wanted to get to know Mick, she really did, but she always kept her social circle to a minimum. Her dad and Gina, that was the number that she felt comfortable with and she didn't want that to change.

She blinked back in to the situation that she was stuck in, and found the three of them staring at her, slightly concerned.

She swallowed repeatedly, since her throat suddenly became super dry. Her hands began to shake, and her body began to become cold.

"Um, ca-can we go now?" Her bottom lip began to tremble as her breathing quickened, with Gunther quickly nodding his head to his driver before walking out of her personal space, hoping that it would help.

"We can go to my trailer, it's quiet in there, you'll be okay." Mick soothed her softly, being close enough so that he could help calm but chose not to touch her since he had been told previously by his sister that sometimes, touch could make it worse.

Gina intertwined her fingers with her best friend and squeezed, knowing that if she felt Gina's presence, that it would help.

Kevin Magnussen had begun to walk over to the trio to introduce himself, but stopped immediately as he noticed the brunettes panicking figure, recieving a nod of thanks from his team mate in return.

As soon as the trio were in the safety of Mick's driver trailer, the Schumacher's breathed a sigh of relief.

Gina immediately set out to grab one of her brothers sweaters, from Haas, and pulled open her handbag to retrieve her perfume to spray some on it so that the scent was familiar to her best friend.

As she was handed the sweater, her nose immediately took in the scent of her best friend, with her mind immediately feeling much more at ease and safe.

Mick smiled softly as he watched her pull on the sweater, and found that it actually suited her more than it suited him. She looked adorable in it.

They were pretty much the same height, so it didn't bury her or seem to small, it just seemed... perfect.

He began making her another cup of coffee, since she had dropped the other as she began to panic, but made sure that it was a decaf one, in case that the caffeine made her panic attack worse.

He crouched in front of her, but still gave her plenty of room to move, before handing her the cup with a caring smile plastered on to his face.

She noticed how his eyes glistened, as if she staring at the ocean when the sun would hit it. They looked so beautiful.

Her shaking hands clasped around the cup, her fingers grazing the fingers of her best friends brother, causing butterflies to erupt in both of their stomachs.

"You can wrap yourself in my blanket if you're cold, or take a nap, we won't disturb you." Mick smiled gently at her, seeing his sister nod in agreement.

"We can go and get you some food, so that when you wake up, there will be food for you." Gina smiled at her best friend.

She was always so used to helping her through her panic attacks, because she knew that she couldn't help it.

She had anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder otherwise known as OCD and Autism, which unfortunately for Lennox, made social interactions very uncomfortable and almost impossible.

She had told her brother about her best friends anxiety, but not the others because, it simply was not her story to tell. That belonged to Lennox to tell, if she ever wanted to of course, since Gina would never force her.

She loved her too much to do that.

Mick was immediately understanding and welcoming at the information, and despite his sadness when he would turn up to his sisters shared apartment, and the brunette would not be there, he knew that she was struggling and could not blame her in the slightest.

He would Google ways to help people with anxiety in case of a panic attack once he did meet her. He would Google what could set her off in order to know how to help her. He would Google what situations people with anxiety tend to avoid, so that he would know where not to take her.

He just wanted to look after her.

"Are you sure that I can take a nap here?" Lennox asked the boy quietly, seeing him nod his head to her instantly. "You don't mind?"

"No! Of course I don't." Mick smiled as he stood to his feet, grabbing a blanket and his softest pillow for her.

"What will you do whilst I'm sleeping?" Lennox frowned.

The siblings looked at each other with a look of understanding passing within the duo.

"We'll stay here, and quietly watch a movie." Gina smiled at the words leaving her brothers lips.

He really had done his research.

She had told him that when she slept, Lennox didn't like to left alone, because then she would panic once she awoke and found nobody around her that she knew, especially in a brand new place like Mick's driver trailer.

"I'll go and get the food for when you wake up." Mick offered as he moved his way to the door, seeing her already starting to drift off to sleep.

"Mick." Gina whispered to her brother. "It means that she trusts you, because she'd never usually sleep so quick when she's in a new place."

As soon as Mick left his driver trailer, a bright smile lit up his face, his cheeks flushing pink as butterflies erupted in his stomach.

She trusted him.

He smiled all the way until he met his team mate, the Danish driver, Kevin Magnussen.

"Is the girl okay?" Kevin asked with concern laced in his tone.

"She will be, she just doesn't like new places." Mick informed his team mate as the Danish man patted him on the back.

"If I ever see her uncomfortable around here, just know that I'll help her get to your trailer." Kevin promised the young German.

"Thank you, Kevin. Her name is Lennox and she's Gina's best friend."

Kevin's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh. I saw them holding hands and I thought they were dating. You know how happy Gunther would be if they were."

Mick couldn't help by laugh. "He'd probably wear a pride flag every day."

"It's Gunther, so it would not surprise me at all." Kevin chuckled, since he loved his team principal. He got so lucky with Gunther, since he could have gotten a much worse one, like Mattia.

The two team mates walked to get some food together, before parting ways as Kevin went to speak to Sebastian.

Mick made sure that he had chosen the food that Gina told him that Lennox loved, and as he made his way quietly back in to his driver trailer and carefully placed the plate of food beside her so that she would see it as soon as she woke up, and would not have to speak to them to ask for, he couldn't help but imagine something.

He couldn't help but imagine that he was the one who Lennox had been holding hands with.

A/N

as someone with anxiety, OCD and Autism, I know that it's different with everybody, so this is based off my own experiences.

I do not mean to offend anyone with how I write it in to the book.
