Violette had been down here in Wonderland for six long months. There seemed to be no way back for her. Though she dearly missed her family in the land above, she had newfound duties in Wonderland along with a new family to care for.

Her name was Violette Gold White. A week after her arrival in Wonderland, she was given the status of a royal by King William Gold Barbatus for multiple acts of bravery in just one week of her arrival.

Saving the King from three attempted murders got her that status. She also got her own residence near the palace. The White's Residence.

The residence took three short months to be built with the help of magic. During those three months, Violette did not stay with the King as he had ordered. Instead, she stayed at the Ducal House of the Callas, the residence of the King's dearest cousin, Lily Callas, and became fast friends with her.

She'd also gone through tortuous royal etiquette lessons that William forced her into for five months before she mastered them. It included speech, the way to eat, dance, and the art of riding horses. Violette also secretly learned archery and was gifted extraordinary abilities that made her better than any professional. Besides all that, she also learned a little swordplay.

The political stance of the two sides in Wonderland was drilled into Violette's head. The silver side was the enemy and needed to be annihilated.

Violette was elegantly seated around a little table in the White Garden. She wore fitted white high-waisted trousers that had gold buttons lined up from her hips to her waist. Her button-up shirt covered her neck completely. Her white and gold chauffeur visor cap sat neatly on the table.

She was the host to the last tea party William, Lily, and herself would have together before sending Lily away.

"I can still negotiate with the Silver King-" Violette was cut off mid-sentence.

"No, Violette." Lily smiled. "I have to do this for the greater good.

Violette forgot her etiquette and aggressively stood up from the chair. "I'll kill that Silver King once I see him! With my bare hands!"

"Violette! Remember your manners." William scolded. "I hope you understand that Lily acts as a peace offering."

"I understand damn well!" Violette cried. "And I also know what they're going to do to her once they've got her in their hands!" She breathed in and continued, "We are literally offering her to them with a red ribbon tied around her. Why wouldn't they take advantage of her?!"

"They cannot," Lily smiled. "I am Lily Gold Callas. No harm can come to me anywhere but the battlefield, where I will never be. I will be treated like royalty should be."

Though Violette knew this, she didn't want to send her dear friend to the treacherous Silver side. But what could she do? Nothing.

"It's okay, Violette," Lily smiled. "I gave this decision much thought."

"I- I understand," Violette said. The tea, though sweet, tasted bitter in her mouth. The sky, though painted in pink, looked like a bath of blood. Violette had a bad feeling since that morning.

"Violette," William called. Violette looked up to meet his pink eyes. "Lily will be taken good care of in the Silver side and her sacrifice will bring five hundred years of peace to Wonderland."

"I know," Violette said. "But still, why won't you let me go in place of her? I'm royalty too."

"By name and not by birth," Lily said with a small smile on her face.

Violette was done reasoning with the two cousins. She'd been trying for an entire month but to no avail.

She raised the teacup to her mouth only to freeze in shock. Violette felt a lightning-like zap course throughout her body. The teacup fell from her hand and shattered on the ground. She knew something bad was going to happen.

She mechanically got out of the chair, put on her cap, and walked towards her stables, leaving her two confused guests behind. She got on her steed, Heliotrope, and rode out of the White Residence and towards the neutral grounds against the will of her own, her white cape flying behind her.

She wanted to spend one last good time with Lily but now her body was taking her somewhere else as if she was meant to be there.

She reached the neutral grounds and she finally brought her steed to a stop. Violette's body finally became her own and she relaxed and looked around the crowd. People bowed down to her and she graciously nodded at them.

Her gaze finally stopped at a man with bright red hair. The man approached her and she finally recognized him as the Mad Hatter.

     "Speak," she commanded.

"It was the Silver King, he took my dear sister from right under my nose and just rode away!" said the Mad Hatter.

"King Gladiolus Silver Galanth did it, you say?" Violette questioned.

     "That's right."

"You will be held accountable if the information you gave me is false, Mad Hatter or not," Violette said. She turned her steed and followed the trail of hoof prints, this time on her own accord.

The hoof prints indeed took her to the Silver Palace. She saw the gates were slowly closing.

"Come on, buddy," Violette said to her horse. "Faster!"

Willed by Violette's encouragement, Heliotrope ran faster and got through the gates just in time.

Violette watched as the Silver King dismounted his horse along with a woman he carried to his side like a sack of potatoes. The Silver King turned around to meet Violette's cold gaze.

The two stared at each other, both refusing to speak first until Violette saw the woman that the Silver King carried so harshly was struggling.

     "Let her go," Violette commanded.

"And why should I, intruder?" The Silver King laughed coldly.

"Let me go!" The potato sack girl pleaded. Something about her voice seemed familiar to Violette.

"Silver King, Gladiolus Silver Galanth." Violette spoke. "Do all women, pray tell, get treated like a sack of potatoes on the Silver side? This would be news to us on the Gold side." Violette's eyes shone sinisterly.

"This little lady, in particular, caught my interest," stated King Gladiolus. "It is none of your business."

"It is my business, Silver King." Violette boomed. She still sat on her horse, arrogantly imposing dominance. "You were supposed to collect the peace offering from the White Residence an hour ago. Are your actions suggesting that you do not want peace?"

"Do not misinterpret my actions, Violette Gold White." The Silver King sneered. "I saw an opportunity and took it."

"Heh, funny how the young Silver King picks up random women he fancies from the Neutral Grounds." Violette jabbed. "Just you wait and see-"

"Violette?" The sack girl said. "Violette! It's me! Edelweiss!"

Violette's blood ran cold. The sack girl was her sister. Anger coursed through her veins and her horse reared up at the Silver King. Lightning flashed behind her, her eyes were bloodshot and shone as they reflected the lights from the torches of fire.

"Hear me, King Gladiolus Silver Galanth. I, Violette Gold White, command you to unhand my sister, Edelweiss Gold White." She bellowed. "You will treat her like royalty and not how you see fit. Or else I will personally slaughter all of Silver-kind."

The Silver King let Edelweiss down carefully. Violette's eyes slightly softened when she met Edelweiss' scared ones.

Violette dismounted her horse and rushed towards Edelweiss. She felt some sort of relief to see her family here with her. Edelweiss hugged Violette twice as hard as Violette hugged her.

"How did you get here? What are you doing here? How's mom and dad?" Violette asked questions after questions.

"They're okay! You were gone for two weeks!" Edelweiss sobbed. "And I've been down here for a week and, and-"

"Shh, shh," Violette patted Edelweiss' back. Two weeks though...? "Little E, I've been down here for six months."

"What?" Edelweiss asked. Violette looked at her sister's tear-stained face. She smiled at her warmly and stepped back when she noticed Silver soldiers gathering around them.

Violette sent a thorough glare at the Silver soldiers as well as the Silver King. She once again pulled her sister into a tight hug. She lovingly gazed at her sister and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"Don't worry, sister," Violette assured. "The Gold name will protect you. Use it well."

She mounted her horse and reared up once again.

"Fret not, sister mine. For I shall return and take you to your rightful place." Violette turned around, her white cape fluttering, and exited through the gates of the Silver Palace.

She was going to return for her sister.
