Darra thought as he continued walking inside the park, an irk mark slowly forming on his forehead as he heard small but firm footsteps follow behind him. "I SAID...I said go back home, Lilly" He nearly shouted as he turned to face her, seeing her face ever so firm, and her dark blue eyes with so much tenacity and determination. She wasn't going anywhere now was she...

"Haaa...fine you can come along. Guess there really is no turning back now..." Darra spoke, reserving the last sentence to himself, but he sensed that Lilly heard what he said. He turned back to see Lilly grinning from ear to ear with her eyes shut tight. 'Now, I'll be able to find out what's really going on.' 

The small figure of a girl took mental note as Darra flashed a small smile of his own, quickly shrugging it off and turning around to face the deadly journey ahead. "Our goal is to make it back in three days, in. one. piece. Let alone alive." Darra said narrowing his eyes into slits, soon talking again. 

"Maybe now that you're by my side, we have raised our chances by 5% So now we have a 35% chance of getting out alive."
"Oh come on, if you don't believe we can make it, what's the point of setting a bar in the first place, let alone coming for this mission. I SAY WE HAVE A 100% CHANCE!"

Darra chuckled. Really, was she sure? "We have no idea what we're dealing with, we have no weapons for defense for that matter, and YOU don't even know where we are going. What the heck are you talking about?"

"Look. I might not know what's going to happen, or what we're dealing with, or where we are going. But I know one thing, I have faith, faith in us. We will make it out alive." Darra's eyes widened, slowly, but surely, as he listened and let Lilly's words slowly make their way dancing in his mind. She wasn't all wrong, Darra then began to believe, if you truly have faith, then maybe...maybe they will make it out alive.

They found themselves walking that same path they had when they were lost, praying desperately that they were going the right way, that they would be able to see the dancing lights of the park at the end of the treacherous road. Lilly began to feel scared, as she hurried on her little feet and clung onto Darra's white shirt. 

Darra was startled, soon noticing it was just Lilly, but something was different. She was breathing heavily, and a wave of uncertainty could be sensed from her. "Should've stayed home?" Darra laughed but he didn't get any response from her, instead, she just shuddered and her teeth began to jitter, causing Dara to stop laughing. 

Darra stopped in his tracks, turning around to face Lilly. Her face was pale, and her eyes didn't show the determination we all love so much. Instead, they reflected fear, the fear of...no one knows...not even Darra.

"Are you okay-"
"What's going on?" Darra was taken aback by her response, as she looked at him, dead in the eye like she was digging. Digging for the truth! And Darra knew exactly what she was talking about. Yet he sealed his mouth, refusing to say anything. But would it really hurt, to spill one small secret? Let it slip out of the tips of his thin, chapped lips and say it was an accident? Not acceptable! 

"I'll tell you later." Darra quickly got up and turned around, proceeding to move ahead. "No. You won't..." Lilly said softly, her brows furrowing as she moved to catch up with Darra. She was confused, yet she knew all too well that she was speaking the truth. "Well, guess your right..." Darra mumbled under his breath, and Lilly couldn't take it. "Why are we on this dangerous mission? I want to know the truth! 

Something's been bothering you and I know it. Tell me what's going on!" Lilly ranted on as she got on her feet a little faster, and managed to make it in front of Darra, turning around and spreading her arms out horizontally with a determined yet angry look on her face. "Why?"
"Because...because you have to!"

"WHY WHEN I KNOW YOU'LL JUST PUSH ME AWAY LIKE THE OTHERS? When you learn about me...YOU'LL JUST THROW ME OUT OF YOUR LIFE RIGHT?!?" Darra felt his blood boil, the adrenaline pulsating through his skin, his veins, his heart the need for speed hit him again as he felt he could run around the world and win a race against time. 

Yet this wasn't out of excitement or joy...not even fear, but of anger. What did Lilly want? Why couldn't she just leave him in peace? "I...I WON'T THROW YOU AWAY...I won't push you like the others-"
"AND HOW SURE ARE YOU-"

"BECAUSE YOU'RE MY BEST FRIEND!!!"
