Only a pure heart can fix a broken one..

{Ashleigh's POV}

I sighed as I slowly started petting Ember's fiery coloured fur. She nuzzled her head into the palm of my hand as I started to pull my hand away, her fur is dirty. I'll head to the lake to bathe her so she won't be filthy. I stood up holding her delicate form in my arms and walked over to Jaxon and Tigger as he was teaching her to try and use some tools to help build. Just in case we need extra help.

As I reached them, there was a rustle in a nearby bush, it was a feint sound and didn't seem dangerous so I ignored it. I smiled down at Ember and pat her head quickly before looking back up at the two. I tried to get my hair over my eye a little more so it would block out the sun, but no, it didn't work.

"Hey guys! I'm just going to head down to the lake so I can clean Ember's fur, I'll be back in a few minutes. Is that ok?" I got a thumbs up from Jaxon, but I don't think he was really paying attention to what I was saying. I looked at him like 'Bruh', but then looked to Tigger, who looked over to me and nodded.

"Just be safe, ok Ash?" I smiled and nodded turning around. It was going to be quite the walk there. I have to walk for about 30 or so minutes to reach the old cabin, then walk down a twisty path to the lake, then walk all the way back. At least it isn't 10 kilometres though, like the Walkathon last year. I died during the heat, not mention my legs were killing me. Anyway, back to the story. (Wink~)

I suddenly got an idea, I walked over to my backpack with Ember in my arms and set her on the grass for a moment. I kneeled down next to my bag and found a suitable spot to put her in. Luckily, there wasn't anything in the pocket I was using to keep her in, so nothing could hurt her.

I softly put her in the bag and put it on my back. I turned my head to try and see if she was ok, I could just see her out of the corner of my eye and she was perfectly fine. I let out a breath of relief and began walking. I smiled looking back at her as she licked my cheek softly.

"We're off on an adventure Ember! Just the two of us. Now, to the lake!" I stuck my hand out and pointed in front of me and I heard Ember bark to me happily. I giggled and picked up the pace a little bit, so almost a speed walk. I started humming to 'Never be like you' by Flume, featuring Kai. Good song in my opinion, it's one of my favs. I see the old cabin come into view and I smile, knowing I'm almost there.

I sighed and looked back to check on Ember, she was sleeping and a snot bubble was forming out of her nose. So god damn adorable. I 'awwwed' quietly to be sure not to wake her, she stirred but she stayed asleep. I sighed, relieved, and kept walking to my destination. After another 15 or so minutes, we made it to the lake and I put down my bag softly next to some rocks nearby.

I grabbed Ember out of the pocket and laid her down onto the grass and started patting her until she woke up. She lifted her head up and opened her eyes slowly, stretching her front legs out and sneezing. Now that, was adorable my friends. I giggled and pat her head.

"Come on, we gotta give you a bath. Your fur is dirty." She leaped into my arms and I brought her to the water.

I set her down on the bank and allowed her to walk in. She dipped one of her paws in hesitantly but then walked in up to her knees. I took my boots off and walked into the water alongside her to make sure she didn't hurt herself, and to clean her. I cupped my hands and dipped them in the water and then put the water on Ember's back. She tensed from it being cold but got used to it.

I kneeled down in the water, since I had shorts on, and rubbed some hand soap I had in my bag on her fur. I rubbed her back, stomach, ears, head, legs, tail thoroughly to wash it in. I still don't know why I had hand soap in my bag though. After I had rinsed off the soap I brought her out and tried to find a sunny spot so she could dry quicker. I found one near a tree, grabbed my bag and Ember, then walked over.

I set her down in the sun and she made a cute happy noise, she nuzzled her snout into her fur to find a comfortable position to sleep. She curled up into a small ball and tried to fall asleep. I sat down next to her and sighed, grabbing out my phone to play MineCraft PE. After about half an hour I had built a decent house, which then got blown up by a creeper and then I tried to fix it, but then died from spiders.

I growled and rage quit that world, deleting it. I put my phone away after checking the time, 12:52. It's later than I thought it was, oh well, I grabbed Ember softly trying not to wake her and put her back in my bag. I put my bag on my back softly and started walking back up.

'I'm coming back, I'll be there soon. K?' I mind linked Jaxon to tell him I was coming.

'Cool, we're almost done framing the roof which is great, though we are out of water. Can you get us more when you get back?'

'Absolutely! I'm just passing the old cabin, I'll grab the drinks and refill them here. Keep a close eye on Ember though, if she goes missing, you will pay with your life.' I have grown very affectionate towards Ember, if she is lost I will loose my mind.

'Ok, ok! I got it! Tigger is helping so don't worry about it, just refill the bottles then you can come back and help.'

'Sure thing, bye.'

'See ya soon.'

Once that conversation finished I had already made it back. I put my bag down inside the house so the two of them can keep a closer eye on her and I went to fetch the bottles. I grabbed them and jogged into the kitchen of the old cabin. I turned the sink tap on and filled up the bottles. I pondered for a moment and had an idea.

I went to the fridge and opened it scanning over the items. Where are they?? Hmmm, this will be harder than I thought. Oh wait, never mind found them. The blueberries and other assorted berries. Like black berries, raspberries, strawberries, and others. Oh, also grapes, grapes are good.

I then went over to the fruit bowl and grabbed out two apples, a banana, and a mango. I then went back to the fridge and grabbed rockmelon and half a watermelon. Wait, just to be sure.

'Do you and Tigger like watermelon?' I mind linked Jax, again.

'Yeah I do, but Tigger doesn't. Why?'

'Nothing, nothing. It's all good, see you!'

'Wait Ashleigh what are yo-' I blocked Jaxon and Tigger from my mind so I could work peacefully. I then went to a cupboard and grabbed out three bowls, a knife, and three spoons.

I went over to a different cupboard and grabbed out a cutting board and started singing to 'Horizon' by KYKO, another good song in my opinion, again. I started to cut up one of the apples and remove the seeds as I sang.

Just as I finished cutting up the fruit I finished the song. I love the song, I can't get it out of my head. I put the fruit in all the bowls besides the watermelon, I put watermelon in only one bowl, and put the rest away in the fridge. I finished packing up and went to grab a tray to put everything on. I found the tray and put the three bottles and three bowls on top, and put a spoon in each bowl. I had successfully made three bowls of Fruit Salad!

I grabbed the tray with two hands and walked out shutting the door with my foot, skills man. I started walking back and smiled 'They'll love this.' I thought. They will though, because it's hot and fruit has water in it, and it's healthy. I made it there and walked inside the new building which had a roof and all the framing was done. I set the tray down and went outside.

I climbed a ladder leading to the roof to find Jaxon and Tigger working out the plans on the blue paper and how to make it. I smiled and walked over to them patting they're shoulders. They looked up at me and smiled.

"There you are! We were just about to go looking for you!" Jaxon said happily, because he didn't have to go searching for me.

"I was busy, but I'm back!" I said doing jazz hands.

"What's up, Ash? Do you need help or have you come to help us out?"

"Yes and no, I wanted to help you guys. But I have something for everyone, follow me!"
I helped them up and they followed me down the ladder, bringing the plans down too. I walked inside and spotted my bag with Ember, just waking up inside it. She trotted over to us and walked beside me. I walked to the tray and grabbed it.

"Ta-Da! Fruit Salad, fresh and healthy! As well as drinks provided!" They smiled and thanked me grabbing the bowls.

"This ones yours Jax, since it has watermelon in it." I say handing him the bowl, he takes it and I give Tigger her's.

"Thanks Ash!" I waved Tigger off and grabbed the water bottles, setting them next to us as we sat down next to each other.

Ember walked over and sat next to me, eyeing my bowl. I giggled and gave her a blueberry and a grape. She jumped up happily and nuzzled her head on my leg as I grabbed my water bottle, taking a sip.

She walked over to Jaxon and licked his knee, he smiled slightly and gave her a tiny price of watermelon. She bit it and shook her head in disapproval and spat in out onto the tray. Tigger and I laughed at her as Jaxon put on a fake sad face with a pout.

"That's my girl!" I told her and pat her back.

After we finished our fruit I ran back and put the dishes away after washing them, ran back and started separating rooms with interior walls. As I started doing the walls separating my room and the hallway I felt that everyone's presence had faded, they must be grabbing more materials. Or so I thought...

{???'s POV}

I passed through some trees after going through the stupid portal thing. I reached a cabin but passed it and kept walking, not interested, I just need to find Ashleigh. I eventually found another cabin that was still being built with two people outside. A boy and a girl, they looked about Ash's age so I went up to them.

They looked up at me as I approached and put away some blue paper. I noticed there was a red fox there too, standing at their feet. They looked confused at first but smiled at me welcomingly.

"Excuse me? Have you seen a girl that's about this tall, dark brown hair covering one eye, dark blue eyes and tanned skin at all? She's my sister and she's been missing for about two months and I'm her older brother. Have you seen her?"

"Do you mind telling us her name?" The girl asked raising an eyebrow, though her hair covered one of her eyes as well. I nodded smiling hopefully.

"Her name is Ashleigh Rose." They glanced at one another with a strange expression.

"I'm sorry but we haven't seen her, and we don't know you. So could you please leave?" The boy asked politely. I looked at him and then to the girl, than at the ground chuckling darkly.

"You've seen her haven't you? HAVEN'T YOU?!?!" I yelled at them, my voice echoing through the forest as I spoke.

I tackled the boy to the ground and grabbed out my backup knife from my boot. I raised it up as the girl started screaming at me and trying to pry my hands off the dude. I knocked her off me and knocked the wind out of her, so I could deal with her later. I boy called out to her as I did so.

"TIGGER!!" I noticed that he had started crying as I chuckled. He punched my jaw, and I glared at him as he growled at me, quite loud actually.

I grabbed his shoulder to keep him down, I stabbed his arm and dragged the knife down his arm as he cried out. I removed the knife and then went to his opposite shoulder, doing the same thing. I felt a bite in my leg as I took out the knife, I growled and turned around.

It was that dumb red fox that stood by their feet earlier. The boy coughed and smirked. I growled in sync with the fox as the guy brushed the hair out of his eyes slowly.

"Good girl...." I kicked the fox away making it whimper and making it land next to the girl. I got off the boy and walked over to her, knife in hand.

She started coughing as air tried to fill her lungs. The fox barked and snarled at me and ran over to the guy and try's to get him to move. I turn back to the girl who is looking at me with tears starting to form in her eyes as I punch her in the stomach. She groans and I pick her up by her neck.

I gripped my knife tightly and brought it to her stomach as she tried to pry my hand away from her neck. I felt her tears fall onto my arm and I chuckled darkly. I dragged the knife along the side of her stomach and push it in deeper as it went further. She cried harder and started coughing up blood.

I smirked and brought the knife up to her neck as she screamed, begging me to stop. I ignored her and she punched me in the chest, hard. I almost dropped her but I managed to hold my grip. I repositioned the knife as I was tackled to the ground with a Scythe to my neck. I looked up and saw who I never thought I would see in a million years. Ashleigh Rose.

{Ashleigh's POV}

I hear scraping noises on the floor boards, and Ember barking. I turn around to see Ember next to Jaxon, who is on the floor, licking his face as he kneels covering a badly injured wound on his arm and a scar on his face.

I ran over to him and laid him down. What happened to him? I grabbed my bag which was a few centimetres away and grabbed out my bandages, starting to wrap it around his arm as he winced. I looked at him sadly and examined the scratch on his face and shoulder that I just noticed, they were deep cuts.

'What happened!? How could that have happened?' I looked into his eyes, which were watery. He glanced up at me but looked away ashamed.

'...A boy... he claimed that he was your brother. I...I said I didn't know him and he should leave... he then tackled me and pulled out a knife... heh. T-That's what......... happened.' I looked at him shocked as he coughed. Wait.

'Wait, where's Tigger? Oh my go-' I was cut off by a scream that echoed through the house. I put a hand to my mouth as my eyes started to tear up. He growled in anger, sounding like he was going to kill someone.

'Go help her..... I'll get Ember to help me with this. Go, now...' I nodded and squeezed his hand. I stood up next to him and looked over to Ember.

"Ember help Jaxon, I have to help Tigger." She barked and started grabbing the bandages to help, standing proud. I smiled at the two and turned around to walk out, or well, run out. He can't be here, there's no way that he saw me run away. It's my brother, Alex.

I stormed out of the house and summoned my Scythe, oh yeah Tigger helped me use magic and showed me that I can summon my weapon. I walk out to see a boy, about 16 years old, holding Tigger by the neck and holding her in the air. Oh, and that boy is my brother. Whoop, whoop. He grabbed out a knife and held it to her neck, just as he was about to stab her I ran over and knocked him down.

I stood above him with my Scythe to his own neck. I glared down at him and he growled, then noticed who I was. Tigger collapsed on the ground coughing up blood, she noticed me and smiled. I pressed my Scythe closer to his neck as my anger grew. I narrowed my eyebrows and gritted my teeth as I almost clawed his eyes out.

"What. Are. YOU. Doing. Here?" I seethed through my teeth. He ignored me and put a hand to my cheek.

"Ashleigh, your ok! And you have tiger ears too." I slapped his hand away and bring my Scythe closer again.

"Why the fuck do you care?" I breathed in and out to try and calm me down. It didn't work.

"I watched you leave that night.. I couldn't let you go by yourself. So, after a week or so I followed the path you took..." Is he for real?!?!

"I left in the morning dumbass. Also, YOU DECIDED TO FOLLOW ME AFTER A WEEK?!? NORMAL PEOPLE WOULD FOLLOW SOMEONE STRAIGHT AWAY, BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT IN YOUR GOD DAMN WORLD!!" I screamed at him.

"Not to mention you treated me like shit while I lived at home! I've found better friends now, ones that actually care about me! Not my family that don't even care!"

"I care about you Ashleigh!" He yelled at me and I am so close to killing him.

"Bullshit!!" I slapped him and brought my Scythe away the tiniest bit.

"I don't why you're here, and I don't want you here. You hurt and almost killed my friends AND my fox. I'm pretty darn sure they don't want you here either. So leave, and never come back or I'll find you and kill you myself. Go find someone that wants to waste their time with you.

Because I for sure don't want you around, and neither do they. So go, or you're going to regret it. Oh, and for sure, you will have a very bad time..." My eyes gleamed in the sunlight and I sighed irritated.

I did my signature mark of three tiger claw marks on Alex's leg. He ran off in the opposite direction and vanished in the trees, blood oozing down his thighs. I sighed and made my Scythe disappear. I turned around to Tigger who was wiping her mouth with her jumper sleeve and is looking at me wide eyed.

"Sorry about that, I got carried away." She shook her head and smiled coughing.

"Are you kidding me? That was amazing, Ashleigh. Not only did you send him away, but you saved our lives, even Ember's too..." She muffled a cough with her shirt sleeve, just then Jaxon and Ember limp out of the cabin.

When Jaxon sees Tigger he smiles softly and jogs over and kneeling down next to her. He puts his hands on her shoulders and starts crying happy tears, he puts his head in the crook of her neck and smiles.

"Oh my god..... I-I was so worried." He mumbles into her neck as she starts to cry to.

"I-I..... I thought I lost you..." He whispered that part but since we all have supersonic hearing, we all heard it. Even Ember did, she jumped into my arms and licked my face happily.

Jaxon moved his head back to look into her eyes and smiled, as tears fell from his eyes. Tigger smiled back at him and I grabbed out my phone, ready to take a picture. I knew this would happen eventually. I put Ember down to make sure I didn't drop her, she's too precious to be hurt.

They both leaned in closer, closing their eyes as they got closer. I silently squealed and    did a little dance in my head to celebrate. They eventually got close enough that they kissed, I took 80 pictures and made a photo file called 'J+T=❤️'. I squealed and they looked over to me like I was a maniac, as I ran around in miniature circles.

"Oh my god, oh my god! OTP! SHIP, CANNON!!! AHHHHHH!!!" They both chuckled at my reaction but Jaxon looked at me confused.

"I thought you hated shipping, Ash?" He asked baffled by my behaviour.

"I did, up until now. I finally realised how fun it is to squeal at a couple!" I giggled and he shook his head.

"Jaxon?"

"Y-Yeah?" He looked over at her and swallowed. Wait oh my god, is she gonna??

"...W-Will you be my boyfriend?" He nodded with a smile.

"Y-Yes! Of course." She smiled widely and cuddled him.

I again squealed and felt light headed. I started to fan my face with both my hands and let out a small laugh. It was a nervous laugh, a VERY nervous laugh.

"Oh my god, I feel like I'm going to faint." I said almost in a trance. The two of them glance at me and laugh, and that's exactly what I did. I fainted.

{Time Skip~}

I woke up with a headache and groaned. There was a sticky note stuck to my fore head, I took it off and read it. 'Mind link us when you wake up! -Jaxon :)'. I sigh and smile, they're so sweet. Wait, how am I in my room, didn't I faint in front of the new cabin on the grass after fan girling?

Ohh, they must have brought me hear. That would make a lot more sense. A smile tugged at my lips as I sat up and stretched, I seriously can't be bothered right now. I'm so tired and exhausted, I just wanna sleep all day.

'Hey, I'm up..' It took him a bit to respond.

'Alright, come over when your ready.'

'Sorry, not happening. I am so tired it's incredible, I'm going to sleep.'

'That seems reasonable, you have been working all day, walking up hills and almost killing your brother. So get some rest, we've got this under control.'

'But I don't want to let you guys do all the work!' I complained.

'It's fine! You have done most of it anyway. Now, get some rest.' He demanded me, I huffed.

'Fine. See you when I wake up, whenever that will be...'

With that I laid down and yawned rolling over, facing the wall. After a minute I felt the side of the bed go down, I rolled over to see what it was and Ember was curled up next to me. I smiled slightly and put the blanket over her.

I just laid there staring at her as her stomach went up and then down, signifying her breathing. I sighed and closed my eyes setting a hand under my head. I smiled and fell asleep happily, with Ember curled up beside me.

{Another Time Skip Brought To You By The 🐯 Emoji~}[4 hours]

I woke up happy and smiling, surprisingly. I looked next to me to see that Ember wasn't there, she was siting at the end of my bed staring out the window with her ears pointed up. She heard something not too long ago, I reach over and pat her back since I can't reach her head.

She turned her head around and barked happily at me, licking my hand. I gave her a pat and hugged her close. I smiled into her fur as she started licking my hand, I sat up and put her on the floor. Almost immediately she ran out and went down the hallway. I sighed and rubbed my head.

'I'm up. Where are you guys?'

'Oh, morning Ash! We're over at the new place. We are starting to make doors to put in.' What?! They're almost done??

'WHAT?!? You're almost done! Now I feel bad for not helping.' I groaned and hurriedly put on my shoes.

'No, no it's fine! We don't mind, anyway, Jaxon is coming over to you to fill up our water bottles.'

'Ok, thanks T. I'll help him. See ya soon.'

'Bye Ash.'

I walked out and saw Jaxon crouching in front of Ember and patting her as she jumped around barking. He looked up and saw me smiling at him, Ember started to run around him in a circle. He stood up and wiped his forehead which was sweaty.

"Hey Ash, how was your sleep?" He put his hands on his hips and smiled.

"Good. I'm well awake now and refreshed. How is it? The new place that is."

"It's going well. T has been a lot more useful in helping us, not that she wasn't before but more so now. It's awesome."

"I'll come with you to check it out. Or are you doing something?"

"Oh no, I was just about to fill up our water bottles."

"Alrighty, I'll wait outside." I smiled at him as he nodded, smiling back and walking towards the sink.

I walked outside and held the door for Ember as she pottered outside. I watched her as she went over to a tree and started digging up a patch of grass. I shut the door and walked over to her as she dug.

She barked and I assumed she found something she was looking for. She picked up an item in her teeth and nuzzled my hand until I opened it, and she placed it in my palm. She barked happily and panted with her tongue sticking out of her mouth. I looked at the thing she had given me, surprised.

It was the Yang half of a Yin and Yang necklace (That's the white half with the black dot). I turned it over and it had some carved words in the back, 'Ashleigh Rose, 13'. How could this person, whoever they are, know my name and age? I'm really creeped out. Ember saw my discomfort and pawed at my hand that I held the necklace with.

"I'm fine, Ember. Don't worry about me." She didn't look too convinced.

I sighed shakily and put on he necklace, hiding it under my shirt. At that moment Jaxon came out and we walked together in a comfortable silence over to the new place. I hope it's almost ready, and sure enough all the windows are in and Tigger is trying to make a door. She wasn't completely failing, but it wasn't the best it could be either.

"Hey guys, I'm trying to teach myself to make doors!" She chuckled nervously rubbing the back of her neck.

"It's all good, we are all learning. Even I am, and I'm the one who's done this before! Though it isn't easy, it isn't the hardest thing in the world either, you just have to try."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." We all tried to do simple designs of doors on some paper after that.

It took us a long time to find the right one that we could ALL agree on together. But we finally did so any it accompanied the wooden look well. I sighed and rubbed my forehead, I'm so tired from building I just want to sleep. I stood up and checked the time on my phone, 7:52pm, woah it's a lot later than I though it was.

"Hey guys can we continue this tomorrow? I'm really tired and want to sleep." I said rubbing my eye and pouting my lip.

"Yeah, I'm really tired....*yawn* as well. Let's head to bed." Tigger agreed and we all started packing up our papers and equipment.

After 20 minutes of packing up our equipment I took Ember home and set her on my bed as she slept. I grabbed my pyjamas, and went to the bathroom to take a shower. After that I said goodnight to everyone and went to bed. I yawned and fell into one of best sleeps I've ever had.

Hey guys, you made it to the end! Yay! I know this was a long one and it was meant to be published 3 weeks ago and I'm sorry. But I've been really sad lately for quite a while. But otherwise on a happier note, the next chapter of this book is going to have a 3 year time skip. Yeah, that's why I wanted to fit as much as possible into this chapter.
