Chapter 31

the next day seemed to be going rather normally for the four friends. That was until after PE , it was lunch time once again. They got used to their regular seats rather quickly . The four of them were chatting about what had happened in PE, luckily the girls got to stay inside as it once again had started to rain. It was about fifteen minutes into lunch time before they were interrupted.

"well hello there." It was Bryan. Most of the group was behind him, four were missing, those four being John, lily, Eden and Devin. Tyrell had no doubt that the four of them were doing things for Bryan, he couldn't imagine any of the four getting into actual trouble or needing to stay back after classes .

"Hello Bryan....uh can we help you?" Laylian asked politely whilst tilting her head. She knew this was coming, as did the rest of them. Though none of theme expected to be approached by the group, they just expected to bump into the group in the hallway .

"Depends...did you have fun the other day?" Bryan asked wickedly with a smirk on his face, though Sylvester could see a hint of worry in Bryan's eyes. Bryan didn't like what happened the other night any more then they did. Either that or he was afraid the group would spill about how chicken he was in the woods. Though all hypothesis were quickly erased .

"Oh yes it was really fun! did you find anything in the woods? or did you get scared away by nothing?" Sylvester sometimes, or always, hated the fact he was a dark fae. He often did and said things that he would later regret. This being one of them. All eyes of the group seemed to darken a little bit, apart from Alex and Brandon, they were just...observing.

"Look..." Bryan said as he walked closer to the table and paced his hands on the table whilst leaning on them "I run this school at the moment, don't spill a word to anyone and you will stay alive." He was very threatening though he still held some worry in his tone and expression. Though his words allowed some confusion to appear on the two fae's faces.

"Alive?" Laylian asked concerned, she started to fiddle with the lid of kelso's drink just like Kelso had on their first day. She did not like the look that they were being given from the group. She was surprised that this was happening within a school , threatening people's lives didn't seem to be a normal occurrence.

"It's a social thing, if you are dead well-" Brandon tried to explain in a somewhat informative and awkward manner. He scratched the back of his head and held a very fake looking smile. This seemed like something that would happen in a television programme, something where the group of misfits were interrogated by the bullies or the populars of the school.

"you get shunned, bullied or forgotten." Erin said snootily as she interrupted Brandon. Erin wrapped her arm around Mark's shoulders so that she was nearly looming over the four friends as well. Though the two humans who were sat down didn't seem too phased by this, it was the typical high school experience they were expecting but not what they were hoping for.

"basically" Bryan tilted his head in the direction of Erin, showing that he agreed with her statement. They seemed to be the stereotypical couple of the school and the twins dreaded what other stereotypes they would hopefully never need to meet. Neither of them were fond of stereotypes to begin with and the idea that some people seemed to fit so perfectly into them made their skin crawl.

"So keep your mouths shut right newbies?" Darius said with his arms crossed on one side of Bryan whilst Lawrence was on the opposite side and next to Erin. The two males were very big and seemingly strong. Tyrell thought that Bryan must feel rather protective being in the middle of two of the biggest males in the school. By now Bryan was no longer leaning on the table but he stood with one arm around Erin's waist and the other just hanging by his side.

"Or else we'll be your end in this school." Lawrence nodded a little bit more convincingly then Darius. Alex and Brandon had walked away and to the table which the four friends could only jsut see. The rest of Bryan's group sat at their table and were just conversing somewhat worriedly it seemed as Eden was fanning herself and seemed like she had too much sugar. There was a few worried glances sent in their table's direction but the four were too focused on Bryan at this point to notice.

"Got it, i think we all prefer aliveness." Tyrells aid in response to Bryan. He was probably the best choice out of all of them as he was rather cool and collected. He sounded sincere and it was emphasised by his body language.

"Good now i'll see you around." Bryan said as he turned away and they all headed back to their table. The boys watched them leave whilst the girls looked down at the table. there was still a little bit of tension left over from the events that had just occurred and kelso was a little bit shook at the aspect of being threatened.

"how many times have i said that conversations are strange?" Kelso asked the table as she chuckled nervously and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. It was very awkward as they were taking in all that had just happened within the past few minutes. Though they started to stand up and gather their belongings, they were heading to the library again as what had became tradition.

"I don't know but that was strange." Sylvester said shyly once again. His protectiveness had subsided a little bit and now he was back to his awkward self. This seemed to break the tension between the four of them as a few chuckles were exchanged. "what?" he asked innocently in response to everyone's chuckling. This seemed to cause them to increase chuckling.

"you did a funny" Said Kelso in explanation to the chuckling group. It was rather adorable that Sylvester was clueless as to why they were laughing. It was difficult enough for them to grasp the concept of irony , never mind someone with limited interaction. They were arriving at the library at this point and were sat in their circle.

"a funny?" Sylvester asked quietly, once he found out that libraries are supposed to be silent places he really did not enjoy talking in there. The rest of the group tried to convince him that it was alright to talk but he didn't really believe them very much. He saw everyone else talking but he didn't want to break library rules.

"a joke you made a joke" Tyrell explained with a smile. He hadn't gotten too far into explaining many social things to Sylvester as they concentrated on reading and writing. He had hopes that the fae would pick things up as they go along and converse.

"oh...i didn't mean to...terminology is strange" Sylvester said with a small blush. Turns out the time was going quicker then they realized. The conversation downstairs took longer then it seemed and they were actually rather lucky to have gotten their seats in the library.

"yes yes it is-"Kelso started to say but was interrupted by the bell. She furrowed her eyebrows a little in confusion, she didn't know it was time for class. "ugh time for classesss." she held the last note as she picked her bag up once again and headed for the door.

"yeah the day is nearly over, it wasn't too bad. it seems to have gone rather quickly." Laylian said as she followed Kelso out of the room with the boys trailing a little bit further behind. The afternoon went by rather fast but Laylian found herself sitting alone. Kelso had went to the bathroom and the boys went to the changing rooms because Tyrell thought he had left something in there. It was odd for Laylian to be sat alone, though this didn't last for very long.

"hello!" Laylian jumped in response as she was loudly greeted. When she spun around she saw Alex and Brandon. A smile appeared on her face as the friendly people approached her. She thought it was rather odd for someone to approach her but she didn't think Alex or Brandon were bad as they have been rather nice to her.

"hi?" Laylian asked politely in question. The two people in front of her had their coats on ,ready to leave. She didn't currently have a coat or anything suitable for the England weather at the moment. She looked around slightly awkwardly, this was one of her first interactions being by herself, she supposed she had to get used to it.

"sorry if i scared you, it's just Alex-" Brandon started to say but quickly got interrupted by Alex elbowing him int he side. "I mean we were wondering if you wanted to hang out with us? at some point? like after school or something?" Laylian didn't notice the nervousness in his eyes , she could see the pain from being elbowed but there was no recognition of the nervousness and worry in his eyes.

"oh i would need to ask-" Laylian started to say. She was going to ask Sylvester if he wanted to join . It's true that they don't do much away from each other now that they had the opportunity to spend a lot of time together. Ever since they met when they were young they were connected to each other.

"i mean just you." Brandon almost shouted in a panic. "uh between the three of us...we kind of really like you and we want to get to know you better." He started to play with his hands as his nerves started to get the better of him. Alex was just standing there with an analytical look on their face.

"umm sure! i'm sure that Sylvester would be hanging out with Tyrell anyway." Laylian said enthusiastically , she was rather pleased that someone found her likable. Someone who didn't know her noble blood found her likable, it gave her a little bit of hope that she would be able to make other friends and live peacefully in human society.

"great! i'll message you the details! see you soon!" Alex said with bright and wide eyes as they dragged Brandon away with a vice like grip on his arm. Brandon flinched before letting alex drag him away. Laylian blinked a few times before she saw the other three approaching.

"that was strange..."
