chapter 29

Chapter 29

Bit of a disclaimer- my word broke when I was writing this and would not let me write Laylian ...so that inspired this chapter!

The rest of their Saturday was spent at the fae's house. The fae creatures had much to explain to the humans, and Tyrell was also interested in looking at the potential of the building. It was not yet furnished to, anyone's style really. Looking at the blank canvas that was before him made Tyrell's mind buzz with excitement.

"So..." Kelso said as she flopped down on Laylian's bed, they were in Laylian's room which was the bigger of the two. The boys were sat on the floor as Laylian -and now Kelso- sat on the bed. "You're a fae" She said pointing at Laylian "And you're a dark fae?" She said as she pointed to Sylvester. The others in the room nodded her in confirmation. "Why don't you call yourself light fae? If you have dark fae then surely you have light?"

Tyrell hummed at the very good question "Yes it would make things slightly easier. Having dark fae and light fae and then fae itself as an umbrella term." Sylvester furrowed his eyebrows at Tyrell's add on statement.

"Well most 'light fae'."Sylvester put quotation marks around the words "Would not appreciate being associated with us" This caused Laylian to scoff and roll her eyes, though she had to admit the truth of the statement. "Though it is true that we all come from the same origins..." Sylvester trailed off as he looked to Laylian who also had a thoughtful look on her face .

"I guess it's okay for humans to think and talk like that..." Laylian said as she shrugged. "I don't personally mind, just...wouldn't say that in the earshot of other fae. The light fae are rather...pompous and arrogant. They're kind beings but they know that. " The two humans found it odd how Laylian thought of herself and her own race. As though she was something else entirely.

"lil dove, don't think about them like that, we can relax now. And do as we wish" Sylvester said with a smile. It was another one of those moments where hewanted to take in and remember every moment. He was with his three friends, in his own house. He couldn't believe that was happening , he has a house! And somewhere nice to sleep! Somewhere he didn't need to worry about being pushed down from a tree or attacked in his sleep. The most often occurrence being him falling out of a tree.

"Lil dove?" Kelso asked teasingly, knowing that it was what she would call Laylian from now on. A small blush appeared on Laylian's face as she slightly shoved kelso. "Yup that is what I'm calling you now. And from Ty's face you're gonna be lil from now on." Kelso grinned as Tyrell nodded enthusiastically. Lil groaned as she flopped back on her bed and rolled over, still groaning as she was face down in her pillow.

"So..." Sylvester said with a small grin "We have lil dove...Silver...Ty..." He turned his head so he was looking directly at Kelso, if she didn't know he was a dark fae the atmosphere that surrounded Sylvester would have creeped her out immensely. Though there was something comforting, knowing there was a reason why he had the atmosphere he did made it a lot less scary and intimidating. "What shall we call you little Squirrel?"

Kelso playfully sent him a dirty look before she positioned herself so she was lying on her stomach , making it easier to look him challengingly right in the eyes "don't call me that again..." Kelso said very seriously but with a teasing smile upon her face. "Though it is a very good question...I haven't really had any nicknames other then Kel...and ,in my opinion, Ty should also get a new nickname. One that isn't a shortening of his name." Kelso nodded towards her twin with a smirk, which aused him to shake his head with a smile. "I vote for mamma-"

"OKAY! We get it little squirrel" Tyrell quickly interrupted his sister before she could spill one of his old nicknames, or reasons for being teased in primary school. "Nicknames are difficult, isn't' that right Kelly?" The use of her old nickname made Kelso widen her eyes and throw a cushion at her brother's head. Tyrell caught the pillow in both of his hands and held it up in triumph.

"Dang it...squirrel is growing on me...why must they be so cute? " Kelso was now face down on the side fo the bed, she had her head hanging off it as she groaned. "Fine I'm lil squirrel...goes well with lil dove." Kelso admitted defeat . "if I am to be squierrel I shall be the best squirrel of them all! " Kelso declared with a cheeky smile on her face.

"Now it's your turn..." Sylvester said as he turned to Tyrell with a teasing smile. Tyrell had a small intake of breath when he realized how close they were and how deep Sylvester's voice was. "If we're using...some logic that the girls have created then I vote for Gold though if we follow our discussion yesterday...Golden eagle!" Sylvester's tone went from deep to light and happy in an instant. He was very proud of his idea , though he knew what was to follow wouldn't be to his favour.

"I-don't hate that actually!" Tyrell said optimistically as he smiled at his friends happiness and eagerness. "Golden eagle...not sure if it suits me but I like it." Tyrell turned to Sylvester and nearly got the same reaction from Sylvester, Tyrell's hair was messy and his eyes were bright, as eh started into Sylvester's eyes it was as tough he could read his mind. "It's your turn..." Tyrell said with a smile. "I have the perfect nickname you silver fox." Tyrell said with a smirk. There was a moment of awkwardness between the two males before Laylian cleared her throat.

"Precious metals you need a bit of air." The two boys didn't know how close they were until Laylian spoke, there was red cheeks all around as they pulled away from each other. This caused the two girls to laugh, though what they were doing during the conversation was unclear, either way they had their arms wrapped around each other happily.

The twins didn't stay long after that. They had a seemingly quick night after they said goodbye to the fae . What they didn't notice however lay on their bedroom floor. It was a tarot card, but it wasn't any tarot card. On the other side of the card held the moon.
