The sky was a cold blue and purple as spirits of all kinds zoomed toward the plaza for the biggest day of their lives. Today was the day they went out and chose a physical form to take. Delta zoomed circles around her mom who had already chosen a form long before, in what they called darker times. "Hey you best get going you know, the portals to the other realms open soon." She smiled down at Delta, who nodded and cood a goodbye. They couldn't talk normally without a form, Delta's spesies anyway, the species that inhabited the spirit realm.

Hurriedly, the young spirit of 5 year old Delta zoomed to the main plaza. A statue of two almighty realm spirits from the darker times holding up a kit was at the center, along with a giant well.

The figures holding the kit were known as Valkarie and Karabi. The darker times held long and hard wars between the Spirit and Void realms for Karabi's dying throne, and the spirits of this realm learned to be heartless, kill who you had to, and trust no one. But Valkari of the Void realm had offered a peace treaty with Karabi; a kitten to rule the spirit realm, since Karabi's bloodline was at an end with him and he was too stubborn to marry a new queen to bear a child and keep power over the realm. Having no choice but to agree, they came together and created Kai, the soon to be ruler from the stones.

But Karabi was too stubborn about his ego to just accept Kai, especially since Kai ended up being female at creation. Rumors were that Kai was forced into becoming a Trans male, and that his father beat him to make him less of a girl. But Kai never let it show or told anyone so no one knew if it was true.

Delta gathered with the other spirits that were all the same age. Kai, having taken form from both spiritual parental figures, stood calmly and quietly next to his father. He was only 3 years younger, but already knew so much thanks to one of the stones that now held this realm together. His father briefly spoke, and the realm portals opened. Delta was rushed I with others into one of the side ones, the one to the living realm.

On the other side, it was night, and the portal closed off as the last of the spirits got through. They weren't allowed back until they could find a host, and until the portals opened back up, a few weeks from now.

They all scattered, and Delta made her way toward city lights.
