Chapter 9
---Thorn's POV---
Something was off.
It was a sensation that I couldn't shake off, the feeling that something wasn't right but you didn't know what. I shivered slightly before shaking my head and looked over the edge of my jeans-clad knees towards Bidziil.
A smile played on y lips as I watched him interact with Blake, giving the wolfed-out boy a playful yank on his tail before avoiding the equally playful snap of teeth. The two hellhounds were bounding around as well, enticing Blake in a game of chase.
The dark wolf chased after them, occasionally stumbling as he was still adapting to running on all fours instead of just two. I chuckled and had to clap my hand over my mouth when his big paws tripped, sending him flying head over heels through the air before landing in a puff of dust.
"Seems like he still needs some time to adjust." Bidziil commented, surprising me while I shot up from my relaxed position in the chair. It was an instinctive reaction but I instantly calmed and folded my legs out as I sat back down.
I nodded at Bidziil's remark while I eyed Blake for a moment before sighing as I realized he needed another wolf to show him the ropes. When I related this to Bidziil, he nodded with a serious expression and sat beside me on the outdoor couches before plucking me off my seat and plopping me down on his lap.
My body tensed the slightest bit while my face heated up a bit; I remembered what happened the last time I was placed in this position. Biting my lip slightly, I tried to push that thought out of my head while I focused on Bidziil's deep voice but I did notice the amused twitch of his lip.
He knew bloody well what he was doing. His words however kept me from pointing out the obvious, as he firmly stated, "We'll need to go back to earth and find a relatively friendly pack who'll teach him all about his wolf."
I froze with my breath stuck in my throat, unable to react besides a dazed blink. Back to Earth? To the creatures who hunted us as sport? This time I was aware of it when the entities appeared in a tidal wave of smoke and angry whispers, the black shade instantly expanding to twice its original size.
Turning around in Bidziil's lap, I stared down at him with shock and anger leaking into my expressions. "You're suggesting that I'll simply drop Blake in the hands of the monsters who hunted us for and never gave us a moment of peace?"
Bidziil only eyed me curiously, as if trying to understand what was wrong and not in the least bit impressed by the venom dripping of my words. The entity beside me screeched in anger while Bidziil got a firm grip on my hips and hauled me up, carrying me away from the others and to his room before my entity caught up with him.
The collision forced all the air out of Bidziil's lungs before he released me and staggered back, while I stayed seated on the floor, silently fuming that he was willingly tossing Blake in a dangerous situation. Strangely, Bidziil didn't seem too affected by the attack; in fact, he dared to flash me a teasing smirk.
I scowled, willing the entity to come back and perhaps glue Bidziil to the wall like I had done with Ashkii. Surprisingly, the entity didn't attack him anymore but hovered in a corner, as if waiting to see what was going to happen.
When I looked back up, I huffed as I was tackled to the floor. Bidziil's pecs were pushed right in my face, giving me a moment of distraction before growled in annoyance and slapped at the muscle. He barely twitched and chuckled, catching my flailing hands in his big hands before pinning them above me.
Slumping to the floor, panting in anger as Bidziil covered my entire body with his, I had the odd sensation as if something was prying inside my mind, my memories. Finding Bidziil's eyes, I only saw concentration and slight worry in them before I narrowed my own.
Without giving it a second thought, I opened the doors to my mind and let myself get swept away by the tidal wave of memories. The fear tightening in my chest as I hid from a pack of wolves when I was eight, how their sniffs and growls had ripped through the silence of the woods.
That time when I had been bitten by a wolf before he had let me go with a satisfied smirk on its muzzle, confident that I would bleed out as it trotted away from my crumpled form, tail held high.
The memories kept pouring out while I tried to rip my hands out of Bidziil's hold, twisting and trying to buck him off but he didn't relent. "Get off me!" I hissed, struggling to get that big oaf off of me before he sighed and nuzzled the skin behind my ear.
"Thorn-" He started in his low voice but I shook my head, trying to push him off again as I exclaimed, "All my life, I've been running and hiding, never finding a place to rest in peace. All my life! And now you simply suggest to go back to Earth, to let Blake live through my past?"
Bidziil's muscled frame moved over mine, effectively pinning me against the floor so he could use his hands, lifting a finger under my chin and forcing me to look at him. "I was never going to let the pup wander about all alone Thorn. The plan was for us to go and meet my brother, who by the way is setting things straight back on Earth. He's a great judge of character and he'll know whom to pick as Blake's teacher."
I blinked in surprise and stared into those burning eyes as he shifted his weight slightly whilst leaning closer. A breathless gasp left my lips as I watched his eyes turn from deep gold to an intense light sheen of gold, golden embers sparking in their depths.
Seconds later, warm lips claimed mine, stroking and coaxing them open to deepen the kiss. Whatever tension there was left in my body drained quickly as Bidziil undulated his whole body, rubbing his abs against my stomach before I became aware of his growing problem, as well as the throbbing of my own length. Bidziil's teeth scraped over my upper lip, giving it a playful yank before he pulled back and smirked at the small whimpered noise escaping me.
"You need this as much as they do babe. All of you need closure, the knowledge that you'll never have to fear for your lives again, that you can do whatever you want, go wherever you want and not to look over your shoulder while doing so."
What he said made sense but my befuddled brain couldn't exactly focus on that, since it was trying to keep track on his hands. Had they been tracing the edge of my boxers all this time? My gasp nearly silenced Bidziil's chuckle when he dipped his hand inside and fondled me teasingly.
I moaned, clutching his clothes in my hand as my hips followed his teasing movements. It was too slow but then again, the low burn inching up my spine as I whimpered. Bidziil's eyes flitted over my expression before he groaned as my legs wrapped around his waist and squeezed.
"Thorn?"
My eyelids twitched before I looked up, biting my lip at the onslaught of pleasure while Bidziil kept smirking down at me. And suddenly he winked before pushing off of me. "Let's see what you think of being teased love. We're leaving for earth in a few minutes, so you can still take care of that." His eyes flashed towards the bulge in my pants before he fled the room.
I was left alone with a raging hard on, gaping at the door like a fish out of water before I stomped to the shower, grumbling and thinking of ways to put this back on Bidziil. He was the cause of being teased in the first place, teasing me and petting me in front of his families' nozes....
A smile slipped on my face while I thought about the possibilities. He was going to regret this...
---Bidziil's POV---
I was still uncomfortably shifting in my jeans, winching slightly but I couldn't help but smirk and chuckle at Thorn's expression of sexual frustration. The way he had moved and groaned had me wishing I had simply forgot about going to Earth and let things play out.
"What are you chuckling about now?"
Looking up, I simply shook my head at Ashkii, who frowned slightly as he stepped into the room. He already knew of my plans, so he simply flopped down into his seat and rested his head on the back of the couch, closing his eyes.
"So...I'll be babysitting on Noah and Lyra while you, Thorn and Blake are off to Earth. Right?" I nodded but couldn't stop myself from growling under my breath as Ashkii remained rather calm under all this. "Maybe I should force you to come along and see what your neglect has caused on Earth. Ye'iitsoh might be doing everything in his power to reverse things but the planet will remain scarred for ever Ashkii." I reprimanded him, watching as his shoulders dipped, his whole expression remorseful.
"Okay, okay, I get it! I'm the worst person alive for forgetting one small planet but honestly, I didn't mean to! And I had honestly suspected that the supernaturals in that realm would've been more reproachful and help the mortals out instead of hunting them!" He exclaimed whilst throwing his arms up, his grey-blue eyes flashing with regret.
It was the reason why I sighed and stood up, giving the stressing boy a hug. Mistakes made or not, he still remained my brother and he couldn't change the past. I was only hounding him to make sure he didn't purposefully done this.
Ashkii sniveled softly against my chest, his thoughts reaching out to the inhabitants of Earth before he recoiled instantly at all the pain and suffering he felt. Even I was tempted to hide away in my head and throw up all my walls to numb the cries for help.
Eventually my brother pulled back just as Blake trotted into the room, sniffing the air slightly. Since we weren't part of the 'pack', we couldn't welcome him into it. Another werewolf had to recognize me or Thorn as another 'Alpha' before making sure that Blake' wolf submitted to our rule.
I rolled my eyes slightly as the pup started pulling at my pant legs, growling playfully as he yanked a few times, his claws scrambling to get a good footing on the slick floors. He snorted when I remained upright before the pup head-butted me, forcing me to take a step back and scowl slightly.
The wolf barked out a laugh and leaped forwards, only to growl as I laughed when I caught him mid-jump and wrestled a bit with him. Though Blake was snarling and showing his canines, he did present an incredible amount of restraint, since I knew it would be rather hard for him to 'submit' to a stranger.
"What are you two doing?"
The voice caused both of us to stop our play fight, Blake's rather heavy form slouched on top of my chest in a play-arch while I held him by the scruff, attempting to scoot him off of me. Thorn was eying both of us curiously while my mouth instantly watered at the sight of him in my clothes.
He had picked out one of my white hoodies with black Precursor letters spilled on the front. My attention dropped from the hoodie to the fact that he was still drawing it shut, giving me a little show of his dark blue jeans that fitted rather snug against his body. Thorn peeked up hesitantly as I kept staring at him before I huffed as Blake bounded off me.
The wolf greeted him with affection, whining happily when Thorn patted him on the head and ruffled through his fur lovingly. I watched them for a moment before the thought popped up that Thorn would look good with a set of kids of our own before I cleared my throat slightly, shaking my head at my own thoughts.
Better not rush anything quite yet.
Thorn looked up and smiled warmly while Blake lowered himself back on all fours. At Thorn's questioning look, I motioned with my head towards Blake, "He's stuck in that form until he's accepted into a pack. Since we aren't wolves and his wolf doesn't recognize us as so, we can't help him with his shift."
"That's why we need the Lycans."
I nodded as Thorn got what I was planning and motioned both of them closer whilst saying, "Mom and Ashkii will look after the other two while we go and find my older brother He'll know who to go to and more importantly, he might know what you are."
Thorn's black eyes widened comically, their blue depths flitting over my face as they searched for any traces of a lie. He found nothing and quickly stepped forwards, accepting my hand without question, which made me feel rather smug.
It was only a few weeks ago that he was so skittish and now he had already accepted me as part of his family. With a smirk at him, I reached out to Blake and flashed us to Earth, where we were greeted by a gust of wind messing up our hair and in Blake's case, fur.
The wolf snorted, hackles raising slightly as his golden eyes flitted over the surroundings. Thorn looked around, frowning as he noticed that we were rather close to the sea.
"Let's go, from what I've gathered, Ye'iitsoh is close by. The immortal community has created an order and he's there at the moment, making sure that the laws are changed and the necessary steps towards healing are made."
Blake huffed while I kept Thorn's hand in mine, guiding him ahead. He didn't protest at all, which was an ego boost for me, instead laced our fingers together mindlessly as he looked around.
"Not much has changed..." He murmured, his eyes on Blake as he trotted ahead of us, lifting his paws high out of the ashes. The place looked desolate, the charred trees that managed to remain upright were twisted and cracked, creaking ominously in the wind.
I nodded before shaking my head, glancing down at the black-haired beauty in my arms. "I can't imagine what it is to live in a place so..." I couldn't find a word to describe Earth, but he understood me and nodded, glancing up at me before shivering slightly.
"It was hard. Sometimes I wanted to give up, let myself fall of a cliff or jump in the ocean than letting myself get caught by the monsters lurking in the shadows. But I grew up and learned to manage...Though I'll never forget those early years."
The eerie calmness of his tone forced shivers up my back as I recalled seeing through his eyes what it was like to live here and instantly, I had to suppress my temper before I would go on a rampage and purge this planet of every sadistic immortal.
Then again, that didn't sound too bad...
A soft squeeze in my hand made me relax slightly, looking down at Thorn and smiled reassuringly at him when several forms started to stalk closer. I had caught a whiff of them on the ever-changing wind, so I wasn't too surprised when the small gang of vampires and Fae stalked out of the dead forest.
Blake's warning growls rang through the air while Thorn tensed, instantly summoning two entities by his side. I smirked cockily at the ease he called his powers forth before I glared at the small band, challenging the leading vampire with my eyes, cocking an eyebrow.
Either they belonged to the community that was already informed by myself and Ye'iitsoh, or these were some dumb immortals looking for trouble.
---External POV---
Unaware of what was happening, the small group on Earth was being closely watched by something much older than the Precursors. Three of them were gathered around the glass table, watching the scene with curiosity as their sibling sighed exasperated and shook her head.
"Honestly, when are you guys going to stop with simply watching and do something? I'm getting grey hairs from just watching you guys!" She exclaimed, being ignored by two of the triplets before the third rolled his eyes and pushed away from the table.
"Because we usually only dictate and predict what's gonna happen? You know we can't intervene sis." He said while one of his other brothers quipped, "That's where you come in. After all, you are quite a bitch at times."
He smirked as his sister huffed annoyed and tossed her hair over her shoulder. "As if you three aren't hated by the others as well. Nobody likes that their Fate rests in your hands, because you three are likely to screw it up."
The three brothers sulked slightly but brightened up instantly as the youngest spoke, "True but then again, we can also predict good tidings while you only give the people what they're owed. Most of the time it isn't good either."
They stared back at the vision before shaking their heads at a small disturbance, a disturbance that was growing quickly. "The boy is important, more so than what he and his lover think. His father is looking for answers but we need to have them meet each other. They'll be stronger in a group."
They looked up at the second triplet, who flexed his fingers and made them crack before he placed his hands on the table. "Let's see what I can change about that before his family from his mother's side find him."
The woman sighed, gaining the attention from her brothers before the oldest frowned. "What is it now Karma, can't you tell we're a bit busy?" She rolled her eyes before conjuring a vision of her own as she stated, "They already know of his existence and in their eyes, Thorn is an abomination. They're not going to just find him, they're going to hunt him down and destroy him."
The youngest of the three Fates smirked again, "If they find him before he comes into his own. As soon as the stars are aligned, he'll be in his full powers and his destiny will become true. Until then, he needs to be shielded from any prying eyes."
They all looked at the oldest Fate, who nodded once. "I know what to do."
