He tensed.

"It's okay if you don't want to talk about her. I'm sorry ".

" It's fine. I met Octavia when safe land was still getting built. She was beautiful, powerful. She drew me in completely. I fell for her ", he chuckled but it held no humor, "She was a demon ".

I held my breath.

"I thought she loved me back. I would always leave safe land to stay with her. She was always hiding in the forest close by, she said she didn't want to get killed. I was so blindly in love, so stupidly in love that I neglected all the wierd shit she did, all the times she would ask me wierd questions about safe land".

"Questions like ?".

"Questions like, are you building tunnels too ? Where are the secret passages ? She even asked for a map. Sometimes she would disappear for days, without informing me. I didn't think much about it. Till it happened ".

He tensed.
"One night vampires attacked, hundreds of them and there she was at the front of it all leading them ".

I gasped .

"We won easily, but few hunters were killed. I still blame myself for their deaths, because if I hadn't given her the information she knew, that battle would have never happened. She wasn't who I thought she was ".

"You killed her ", I said remembering Devon's words.

"I had to, and you know what she said to me before I shoved that stake through her heart ? She said, Didn't they teach you in that safe land of yours to never trust a demon ? No remorse, just pure evil ", He sighed.

"I'm sorry ".

He shook his head, "Don't be".

" We were told in the orientation that there has never been an attack ".

He nodded, "We like to keep it secret. If people know there was an attack, they wouldn't trust this place ".

I kept quiet even though I had so much more to say.

" Just promise me that you would stay away from that demon Kira, he's dangerous. I still remember when we found him, he was hurt pretty badly but something just didn't click ".

" What do you mean ?".

" Vampires hate demons just as hunters do, even more. If truly they had attacked him, they would've killed him ".

"Maybe he teleported ", I reasoned.

"That was what the general said. But he didn't teleport when he saw us, he just waited. Like he knew we were going to bring him here".

"Maybe he was too weak".

Calvin shook his head, "Kira he's up to something. Octavia was working for the vampires, and I think he is too. He's acts too damn good for a demon. It doesn't make sense ".

I kept silent as I kept thinking about his words. I didn't even know when we reached, and entered our building till we had gotten in front of our rooms.

"Get out of your head Kira ".

I shook my head, "We're back ?".

He chuckled, "I need to see the seer now ".

"Thank you so much for everything ".

He smiled, "No problem ".

I gestured at my body, " What about this ?".

He was already walking away.
"It'll disappear as soon as you enter your room ".

"Thank you", I said.

He chuckled, "I think the gods had something to do with all of this ".

I furrowed my brows, "All of what ?".

"Me coming back here, and choosing the room opposite yours ".

I laughed, and nodded.
"I think they did ".

He smiled. I hadn't even noticed the dimple he had on his left cheek. He was really really good looking.

I blinked out of my thoughts. "See you around then ".

He walked away.

I blew my cheeks out, and entered my room. Immediately I shut the door, the illusion went away. I was disappointed.

"Don't worry your boobs will start growing when you hit puberty ".

That voice. My hairs stood on end.

"Rya ", I gasped .

She was laying on my bed, ankles crossed, facing me.

Her eyes moved up and down my body. "I see they let you live ".

I stared at her, hoping she would elaborate. She didn't.

"I heard you've been looking for me ", she said.

I went straight to the point, "I want answers ".

She arched a brow, "What answers ?".

"You know what I'm talking about ".

She laughed.
"Kira you don't even know the questions you want answers to ".

My hands balled to fists, and her eyes followed the movement. It amused her.

"I have a lot of questions, and I know every single one of them", I fired.

She smirked, and was suddenly in front of me. My heart jumped.

Her eyes bore into mine. "Then go ahead Kira. Ask them ".

I swallowed, "What did you mean ... ".

She chuckled, "For a minute I thought you had figured it out, but he has you so wrapped around his finger Kira. You're so blind ".

" Who are you talking about ?".

She tilted her head, disappointment clear in her eyes, "Don't waste my time Kira".

She took a step back but, I grabbed her wrist before she could move further. She was ice cold.

Why was she so cold ?

"Help me ... please", I begged, desperation in my voice.

Her eyes dropped to the necklace around my neck. The one Devon had given me.

I heard her voice in my head this time, "They're watching us ".

I frowned.

She stared at the necklace again.
"You look too smart to be acting this stupid Kira. Just follow the signs ".

She vanished. I stared down at the necklace around my neck.

The woman had also said they were watching us when she spoke to me. I remembered the way she had also stared at the necklace.

I walked to my bathroom, and stared at my reflection in the mirror.

Without thinking, I grabbed the necklace by the pendant and ripped it off of my neck.

It snapped, and my vision blurred a bit. What was happening ?
I grabbed the sink, as my head spun. When the feeling was over, I took in deep breaths.

I saw Rya's reflection in the mirror, immediately she appeared. I turned around and faced her.

"That necklace is enchanted. They've been using it to watch you. Each time you put it on, they see everything you do ", she said.

"What ... What are you talking about ?", I stammered.

She rolled her eyes, "Kira what is wrong with you ?! ", She snapped.

I stepped closer to her, "What are you talking about Rya ?! ".

Her eyes met mine, "Devon Kira
For God's sake, Devon is working for the vampires ".

My world stilled.
