Chapter Fifty six
Third person Pov.
The bells of heaven were ringing.
Arathes could hear them even from the space he hid in. It had been centuries, millions of years since those bells were rung. He could still remember the first and last time. When he held his lifeless mate in his arms, and stared at the cause of her death. A time of devastation, and unprecedented sorrow. That was the only time the bells were rung. Now they were ringing again.
Curiosity ate at him, but he couldn't leave to check why the angels had decided to ring the bells again after all these time. He had imprisoned himself, cast his back to heaven and Earth combined. He wasn't a demi god, he was a mistake. There was no need for his presence anymore.
But at the same time, he could feel it in the air. Doom was lurking everywhere. Whispering it's presence. He wondered what was going on.
It had been millions of years since he gazed down on earth. He couldn't bring himself to. Not after everything he has done to his creation. He should never had created them in the first place only to let them suffer and die unreasonably. He could hear all their prayers, their cries for help, but he couldn't bring himself to act on any of their needs. He was engulfed with grief. Losing his soulmate had taken a part of him that he wasn't able to get back after millions of years. Finding out she still existed somewhere in the universe, where he could never go destroyed him.
Like he said, he wasn't a demi god. He was a mistake.
The bells struck again. Louder this time. He could imagine the angels getting ready to go down to earth for battle. Because whatever this was, was beyond any creature down on earth. Curiosity plagued him. And against all, he got on his feet and for the first time since Mirel's death he looked down to earth.
It was a far cry from what God, and his brothers (the other demi gods), had created and envisioned it to be. There was so much chaos, so much destruction. His heavy heart got heavier. God was right to want to end all of creation. They were all mistakes. He would do not only earth, but heaven good.
He had heard of a creature with powers greater than that of any demi god that God had created to save all of creation. A being with the gift of life and death. Crafted by God himself. He had thought it a joke, but when his brothers had told him that God had created the being, he was shocked that God even wanted to give the world a second chance.
But laying that kind of responsibility on any being's shoulders, was a lot.
His eyes sought the creature, a healer, and he found her. He had never seen her before, but he could feel her powers even from heaven.
She was limp, and held by chains that were cuffed to her hands in the midst of vampires ?
He tensed, and looked around. Around her was the sacred language. A language only the beings in heaven knew about, a language that was so easily carved on the ground.
He frowned, as he read the words.
I shall rise, and take the glory that should have been mine.
A message.
A message from Zalas. He was trying to break free from hell. Bur Arathes was confused. What were they trying to do ?
And that's when Arathes saw him. Even with every other part of him covered, his eyes were an easy give away. Not just his eyes but the darkness radiating off him. The child that took his beloved away from him. He wasn't a child anymore. He has lived millions of years in Earth as well.
Arathes's frown deepened as he wondered why the child was there. And that's when it clicked. The healer was the most powerful being after God, she hadn't unlocked all her powers yet but that didn't mean she couldn't. The child was born from the unholy union of Mirel and Zalas. An immortal, and a demi god. His powers were endless. And he was also Zalas's son, of course he would take his father's side and help free him. And together with the healer, they were beyond the word powerful.
Arathes felt an emotion he had long forgotten. Fear. If this worked then heaven would have to go to war, against earth. A war that would risk the lives of the creatures he created and was supposed to protect.
The bells rang again.

Zethar could feel Kira begin to wake. He couldn't contain his excitement. He couldn't believe everything was going according to plan. After a these years of planning, everything was working out. Zalas's son was here, he had told Zethar that his plan would fail again, but he said he was going to stay, watch, and help. Zethar was elated.
Kira's eyes shot open.
Zalas was going to rise.
But the issue now was Kira's powers. She hadn't unlocked half of what she could do. But he had a plan. A plan that involved love, and his favorite weapon fear.
A smile stretched his lips.
"Get me down from here ", Kira said feebly, causing an uproar of whispers and murmurs from the audience she hadn't noticed before.
Zethar stepped in front of her with his grin still plastered on his face.
"After all these years, this moment has arrived", he told her.
She glared at him, " Get me down from here now !", She ordered.
He chuckled. "You can just break free yourself Kira. Gethum isn't supposed to affect higher hunters".
He had that gleam his eyes that told her that all he wanted was destruction.
"Zalas will never rise !", She told him.
Zethar threw his head back, and laughed. The council members joined him too, and Kira's heart started to skip beats.
He was suddenly directly in front of her, closer this time. She hadn't even seen him move.
His voice was low as he said. "I will make you unlock your powers Kira, and when you do Zalas will be able to take over".
Kira didn't understand whatever this plan was, but she still said. "He won't".
Zethar smirked. "Even his son is here to help. What makes you think he wouldn't rise ?".
She stopped breathing, at the same time able to feel her hands again.
The cursed child.
Son of Zalas, and Mirel. It wasn't possible.
"You don't believe me ?", Zethar asked. Kira didn't respond.
" How about I introduce him to you ? It was bound to happen healer. Child of darkness, and child of light", he chuckled, " Oh you don't know how long I've waited for this".
