EPILOGUE.

          Three months later...

"Sola! Sola! Stand still! You'll ruin your million-dollar dress!" Amina snapped at me, She was glaring at me with a menacing gleam.

"Look, I'm sorry! I'm just so...so Nervous. I can't stop shaking!" I mumbled, staring at my reflection in the mirror frantically. My eyes stayed on my middle section. I was staring at my almost-visible baby bump. Thanks to the stylist Alex had flown into the country from London, the big white wedding dress was fitted perfectly to my body, yet it managed to successfully conceal my rising bump. Five months.

"Ami, Don't you think... I'm getting married too early? I mean.. I know I'm pregnant already.. But.."

"Are you on drugs?" She asked with a dead panned expression. I bit my lower lip nervously and shook my head.

"So which one is.. You're getting married too early?.. Is there a specific time for people to get married ni?"

      "Well..."

"Babe.. Calm down. You're just nervous. To be honest, if I were in your shoes, I might have to escape through the Window. I mean... There's almost a thousand guests at the church!.. And it's not even reception yet oh!" Amina explained, waving her arms out with exasperation.

My eyes widened immediately I heard her statement.
Thousand?! Where did Alex get these people from?!

"Babe, calm down jor!" Amina snapped as she noticed my nervous expression.

"How can I calm down?! What if I do something wrong? What if I fall? Or.. Or.."

"Nothing will go wrong. And if you fall... which is absolutely impossible... I'm sure your superman will be there to catch you. Yunno.. Like those Indian movie actors." Amina replied. I giggled at her description of the way Alex would catch me before I fall.

"Those Indian actors will have to learn from me If you mistakenly fall. I'm the best catcher." A deep, familiar voice chuckled from the doorway, making me and Amina shriek in shock. "Damn.. You look like an angel, sugar. So.. So beautiful."

"Alex! What are you doing here? You shouldn't see your bride before the wedding day! It's considered bad luck!" I whispered in alarm. My eyes wandering around the room to see if anyone saw him coming in.

"Who cares about that? If I wish to see my bride-to-be, then I will. No one can stop me." He grumbled with a scowl.

"Sometimes.. I really can't believe how arrogant you are. You need someone bigger than you to put you in your place." I said with a frustrated sigh.

He grinned and began walking slowly towards me. "I would definitely like to put you in my own place...here." He pointed his finger downward. I didn't understand what he meant until after Amina broke into series of giggles, covering her mouth shyly.

I felt my face heat up at his suggestion. I'm getting married to a pervert!

"You can continue to dream on about that. Don't even try to touch me." I stated, glaring playfully at him.

"I'm really not ready to witness your catfights. Both of you." Amina turned to Alex with a glare. "The ceremony begins in 10 or 8 minutes! You're meant to be out there waiting for her!"

"Not leaving until I get a kiss from my wifey!." Alex whined like a child. Amina was attempting to push his large frame out of the room while he kept pushing her so he could come to me.

"You're kissing me in like.. the next 20 minutes!" I said incredulously.

"I know. But I want a kiss now. Pleaseeeeeeeee. Can't you see I'm dying here, sugar? Just one kiss!" He begged. I rolled my eyes at his fake begging expression.

"Arrrrgh! You two are just so annoying with your lovey-dovey stuff! I'll be back in 2 minutes!" Amina said with a frustrated huff and left the room.

We stared at each other with a shy smile. I couldn't believe I was marrying this handsome hunk of a man. I loved him so much.

"How are you feeling? I hope you're not feeling faint, or feeling like throwing up...we can cancel the ceremony if you're not.."

I giggled at his protectiveness. Since he witnessed one of my chronic morning sickness and abdominal pains, he wouldn't let me move a limb.
"I'm perfectly fine, Alex. You worry too much."

"You look so beautiful, Sugar. I can't believe you're all mine.." He murmured, looking down at my dress before leaning in to drop a kiss on my painted face. I closed my eyes at the sweet feeling.

We gazed at each for a moment before our heads joined together in a sweet, thralling kiss.

.................................

I smiled shyly as my father linked his arm in with mine. His face radiated so much emotion that I felt my own eyes begin to water. I had so much love for him. For him and Aunty Liz. They were both so important to me. They managed to give me what I've wanted for so long. The love of a parent.

"I've never seen a bride look this beautiful. You're a vision to behold, my darling. Alex should count himself as the luckiest man on earth." He said, gazing at me with such admiration that I felt my shoulder pads rise up with pride.

I giggled as I tried to stylishly stop my tears from falling down. We were in front of the beautiful aisle, preparing to walk down to the alter. Everywhere was filled with people in all kinds of outfits. I didn't want to ruin my make up by crying.

"Nope.. No tears, darling. Today is your day of Joy. You must be happy and smile all through. Your mom and dad would want you to." He said while thumbing at my eyelids to flick the tears away.

I quickly swooped in and gave him a big bear hug. Gown and all.. He chuckled and hugged me back. Everything was perfect.

We began to walk down the aisle. My gaze nervously flickered over to the guests at my side. I smiled at some familiar faces and held on to my father tightly. Afraid of falling.

As soon as I looked up at Alex, I understood what these movies always tried to portray during wedding scenes. They didn't do it well enough. This was... This was something else. Something magical. It felt like I was literally floating in my big, ball wedding gown, as I gazed at my soon-to-be husband. The love of my life.

I momentarily forgot I was being held by my father and even forgot we were in front of a large congregation. Only Alex mattered. His handsome face gazed at mine, And he broke into a wide, sensational smile. The butterflies were back in my tummy. And it was just like when we had just met for the first time again, in that rest room. The sweet consuming feeling was waving through me all over again.

      This is love.

I was broken from my trance when Uncle Paul dropped a chaste kiss on my cheek and handed me over to Alex, who took my hand eagerly, like a cake.

The minister began. "We are gathered here today, on this happy occasion, to join this man and woman in holy matrimony..."

"Tonight won't be holy at all, sugar. I can promise you that." Alex whispered beside me with an arrogant smirk.

I gasped at his words and quickly dropped my face in mortification and shock, trying to avert my face from the minister's eyes. Hoping he didn't hear what Alex had just said.

"Will you SHUT UP?!" I snapped at him in a whisper.

"I will not shut up, sugar. You're the one that said we should wait until the wedding before we..."

"May I know what you two are discussing?"

My head snapped up in shock at the Minister, who was staring at us suspiciously. I turned my head sideways as I tried to look for an explanation.

"I was just telling my wife how I can't wait to..."

I gasped and speedily placed my hands over Alex's lips to shut him up. "No.. Nothing sir,... Please go on.." I felt my face heat up in embarrassment as some of the guests on the first few rows broke into silent laughter. Alex is a cow!.

The minister stared at us, contemplating. "Very well,"

I smiled in relief and sent a sideways glare at Alex. You won't get any tonight, I promise.

And so, the ceremony went on in a blur. We gave our vows and were joined together with a kiss. Congratulations came in order, and we took pictures.

I was so happy when I took some pictures with my sweet baby boy, Justin. I was so shy and nervous as I took pictures with Alex's parents. Mr and Mrs Williams.

"You're such a beautiful bride, Sola. Alex won't know what hit him." Mrs Williams whispered as we took pictures together.

I greeted and hugged a lot of people I had never come across in my life.
After some minutes of greeting and merriments, we got into the private limousine which was taking us to the reception venue.

"The next time, you try to say words like that in public, I promise to give you a good slap!" I said to Alex once we were alone in the car.

His head bubbled back in a bark of laughter at me. "Oh, sugar... I hope you'll be this feisty in bed tonight..." He wiggled his eyebrows at me.

"The only thing in your head is sex! Sex! Sex! Chai!" I exclaimed in frustration, glaring at him.

"You know it's not. I cherish you, Sola. I really do."

My head turned immediately I heard his serious tone. I turned to him and smiled as I saw that he looked serious this time. He was staring at me as if I was a gem. The fact that he used my name instead of calling me Sugar made me know that he was not joking.

"I cherish you too." I whispered.

He moved closer and dropped a soft kiss on my neck, making me sigh in content.

"I love you. Mrs Sola Williams."

...................................

            Four months later...

My water just broke.

I was behind the desk, sitting close to my husband in his office. We were in the middle of an interview with one of the investors of my newly opened company, SHADE COSMETICS AND CLOTHING BRAND. I dedicated the name to my late mother, as I've always wished to. Alex had been so supportive for the past few months as he made sure my dreams were made to reality.

We were still deliberating on the location and brand style with our investors when I noticed the moisture between my legs. I was very confused at first because I didn't feel any pain.

Then I felt it happen. It wasn't really painful, it was more like an urge to use the toilet. But I knew what it was. The baby is coming!.

"Um.... Alex..?" I whispered.

"Not now, sugar. We're still..." He stopped as he glanced at me. He read the worry in my eyes.

"What's wrong?"

"I... I think... The baby's coming." I stated, breathing in as another contraction waved through me. This one was painful. I held the handle of my chair tight. "The baby's coming!" I repeated as the pain rippled.

"What?! Now?!"

"Yes!"

"OH my God! My child is coming! Gentlemen.." He turned to the men who were seated and staring at us with wide eyes. "We'll continue this another day, drop the propositions with my secretary. We'll go through it some other time. I'm about to become a father again!."

"Alex!" I moaned and screamed as another painful contraction hit me. It felt like my stomach was being ripped apart.

"What... What do we do now?" Alex asked, looking around the room in alarm.

"Oh my God! Alex! Take me to a hospital now!" I yelled at him as the pain kept waving through my body. I was trembling violently.

"OKAY! OKAY! HOSPITAL! HERE WE GO!" Alex yelled back and swooped me up in his arms.

HARMONY OLUWADARASIMI WILLIAMS was born safely and healthily on the 23rd of May 2019, at 11:35PM.

Alex held me tight, his eyes shining bright with tears as he watched our tiny beautiful daughter suckle greedily on my tender breast.

Our friends and family members were waiting outside, begging the doctor to allow them to enter the room. I chuckled lightly as I distantly heard Amina and Kene threatening to beat the innocent doctor up.

"She's so beautiful... Just like her mother." Alex whispered beside me, his throat thick with tears.

"She's also greedy... like her father." I countered, wincing slightly as my adorable daughter kept sucking heartily.

"This... This is the best gift I've ever received. My son and my daughter. Thank you, my love. Thank you for bringing them into this world. I love you so much."

My breath caught as we stared at each other in the dim- lighted room.

"I love you too"

...................................

       One year later.....

"Congratulations to Mrs Sola Williams, on the opening of her company...."

I smiled with pride, as I stood on the podium, facing over a hundred guests and acquaintances who were seated comfortably. My first Cosmetics and Clothing company was being opened today, and I couldn't have been more proud of my self.

"A round of applause for Mrs Sola Williams! CEO of The SHADE BRAND!"

The whole room ringed with claps. I smiled at some of the familiar faces I noticed. Every one stayed gazing at me with admiration. I waved.

"Thank you all, for taking time out of your busy schedules to come and celebrate with me on this special occasion of the opening of my company. A special thanks to my husband, Alex Williams, for the support and motivation to make this dream a reality. I promise that the best of us is yet to come. Thank you!"

Another round of applause filled the whole room. I stepped down from the podium and began greeting some of the guests I could.

"Sola!"

I turned my head towards my mother. Aunty Liz. I went to her and gave her a hug.

"Oh my darling, I'm so so proud of you! You're now a big business woman oh!" She said affectionately. I saw the tears escape her eyes.

I giggled and hugged her tightly. "Thank you ma. I love you so much. Thank you for supporting my dreams and goals." I replied, smiling back at her.

"From the moment I saw you, I knew you were born to be a star. Your parents would be so proud of you right now. I'm sure of that." She said. "And... I'm sure that... Wherever Clara is right now..."

"No, mommy, don't cry. No more tears." I said as her eyes began to moisten. She was always like that anytime Clara was mentioned.  Clara was gone but she was hardly forgotten. A month after Clara's burial, Caroline was arrested and was later diagnosed with a chronic mental disorder. And till today, she was still locked up in a psychiatric hospital. But the deed they had done would always remain in our memories.

"You're right my dear. No more tears!" she murmured with a giggle.

"Yes. The only thing left to do is to cherish the good memories we have of Clara." I said to her in a stern voice. She nodded, hugging me once more.

The party went on and on. Alex was beside me all the while. Amina and Kene were with Justin and Harmony. They were all over the whole place, eating every food they could find. Justin was becoming quite a troublesome boy. His fourth birthday was coming up the next month and he had made me promise to hold a big birthday party for him and his school friends.

After the party had ended, Alex and I rounded up everything before retiring and going back home.

...............................

"My beautiful wife." Alex said as soon as we were both lying on the bed. We gazed at each other, smiling.

"My sexy husband." I replied with a big smile on my face.

We were silent as we stared at each other. I wondered how and why this man could love me this much. There was nothing special about me, yet he loved me and took care of me at all costs.

I didn't realize when a lone, single tear slid down my face.

"What's wrong, sugar? Did I say something wrong?" He asked with a frown. He leaned in and gently kissed away the tears. I smiled at the sweet gesture.

"I just.... I just find it hard to believe this sometimes... That I have such a great family. A wonderful husband, two lovely kids, a good business..... I've always dreamed of having a future like this.... But this... This is beyond my dreams, Alex."

"And I'll keep surprising you beyond your imaginations, sugar. You are my life. My queen. You mean the whole word to me. And I'll spend the rest of my life loving you and our children." He said with the most serious face I'd ever seen on him.

"I love you too, Alex. Thank you for everything."

"Now....Speaking of love... I'm about to make passionate love to you, Mrs Williams. I want you so badly!"

I giggled as he pulled me in and silenced my laugh with a heart warming kiss.

And he showered me with love through out the whole night.

..... And every other night after that.

                      The End.
