Chapter 5. Jesus and Plans.

I picked Jay-Jay up, like every other day and we reached home. After having our foods and our daily talks in the house with mom, dad and all those fun, I went to my room and changed, into my comfy clothes. Finally.

'Aaron Power' never called, after school, maybe he was fighting somewhere. Because he was the 'bad-boy' you know.

I unpacked my back pack and I realized that we had no home-works to do today.

I took my laptop and rested my head in the header (obviously). I was into Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube, Wattpad and all those stuff. I got bored after a while, so I thought to sleep.

Here I am, back where I started,

frozen over broken heart and,

chasing shoulders.....

Yeah, my phone was ringing. It was Devan. I picked up his call.

"Hello?" he asked.

"Where the cream fudge were you all day?" I snapped.

"Uh oh, someone forgot manners," he played.

Really? Manners? He was almost missing the whole day. Yeah, I was over-reacting. Lol.

"Manners are dead for now. Where were you, seriously?" I stated.

"I was, umm... studying, yeah studying," he said.

He was lying. I knew it. I just knew that, he was lying to me.

"May I know, what were you studying?" I further questioned him.

"Umm, just the subjects. Umm... Math, you know? I was studying Math." He mumbled.

"Well, Devan, we practice math, we don't study it. And as much as I know, you don't like Math, so why would you do it all day?" I questioned.

I was so confused. We never talked about Math. I didn't even know if he actually hated Math, but I said it anyway.

"Yes, Mel. That's what I meant. Practice. I practiced math all day." He hissed.

I was more confused when he didn't oppose me, when I said he hated Math. What's going on?

"What's wrong with you? What's going on? Why are acting so weird?" I asked concerned.

"Why are you asking me so many questions? What are you? My mother?" he snapped.

"You know what? I-" I spoke but he cut me.

"I am sorry, can I meet you? Now?" he asked.

I looked at the time it was 6:30pm.

"Where?" I asked.

"Starbucks?" I asked.

"Okay, I'll be there in fifteen minutes." I said.

"Okay see you there." I spoke.

"Bye," I said casually before hanging up.

I wore a full length mint colored jumpsuit, I brushed my hair and left it opened.

I told mom about going to Starbucks and she told me to take the car. Jay-Jay was screaming at me, to take him along with me too, but I denied and in return I had to promise him a Hot Chocolate.

I wore my sandals and was off.

I drove there in 25 minutes, I got late cause of my dear, Jay-Jay.

Anyways, I saw Devan outside Starbucks, he was just leaning on one of the walls and tossing his phone in the air and catching it.

I parked my car and walked towards Devan, ones I was out of my car.

Here I am, back where I started,

frozen over broken heart and,

chasing shoulders.....

'Unknown Number' it displayed.

"Hello?" I said.

"Hey, it's Aaron," he said with enthusiasm.

"Umm, I got to go now. Talk to you later. Maybe?" I finished.

"Fine. Bye." He stated pissed.

I hang up.

I managed to not catch Devan's attention and I countered him from behind.

"HEYYYYYY" I yelled from his back.

Devan almost jumped and I couldn't stop laughing.

"Jesus Christ, I almost hit you," he sighed, "I thought you will never come. What made you late?" he asked.

"Why are you asking me so many questions? What are you? My mother?" I stated, raising an eyebrow.

Yes. I just repeated his words from the afternoon's conversation. And yes, I was annoyed and mad too, at Devan.

"I am sorry okay?" I assured.

"Coffee?" I changed the topic.

We went inside and sat in a table for two.

We ordered a cappuccino for me, mocha for Devan and a hot chocolate for Jay-Jay.

We both were silent and that was getting awkward.

"So?" I said, nodding my head while I said the word and I raised my eyebrows too.

"Yeah, I am sorry for talking like that in the afternoon. I didn't mean it. I was just upset about something. I am just so sorry-" he looked over my shoulders and continued "my goodness, look at that baby, isn't she so cute? Do you like babies?" he finished.

"What's going on? Yes, I like babies but, for a little time cause they are annoying and may I ask you, why were you disturbed?" I asked.

"That's not something, I tell to everyone." I snapped.

"Could you not just spat out your words. Be nice Devan." I said blankly.

"Let's get out of here. I can't bear the noises anymore. I am irritated. I want a calm place. Let's go?" He insisted.

"In my car?" I asked.

"Sure," he agreed.

We took our drinks in our hand along with the hot Choco.

We were in our car.

"Look Mel, I trust you more than I should," Devan started.

"So, is it good or bad?" I asked confused.

"I don't have any idea. I don't even know if I should trust anyone. I feel like you are the one to be trusted." He said.

"What are you really trying to say? You are so confused," I spoke.

"I don't know what I should say. I don't even know, if I should tell you or not." I said calmly.

"Do you trust me?" I asked. Hoping for a 'yes' in the answer."Yes," he sighed.

"Do you want to share?" I raised both of my eyebrows.

"I guess, yes," he said, confused.

"Wait Devan. I am not forcing you. If you aren't ready to let me know. It's fine. I'll wait. It can wait," I said concerned.

"Thank you," he said with a smile.

"You are always welcome," I smiled back.

My phone vibrated. A text from 'Aaron.' Yep, I saved his number.

Tomorrow, you are gonna get it. You hung up on me, and I thought you were actually good. Sue me.

Aaron.

Shit. What's he going to do?

"So? Are you okay now?" I asked Devan.

"Yeah. Thanks to you," he said.

"Yeah fine. And, if you are even not going to come to school, at least text me ones," I stated.

"Sure, I will. So, let's get going, see you tomorrow then," he said, as he opened the door of the car.

"Yeah, bye," I said and gave him a smile.

"And, Mel, text me after you reach home safely," he stated.

"I am not three Devan, I am 16 and 11 months," I screeched.

"Okay, I'll call you later," he said and he was gone.

I drove home, and handed Jay-Jay the hot Choco. Jay-Jay was very happy, and he rushed to his room, so that he doesn't have to share.

Mum and I laughed at his actions.

"So, what's going on?" mum asked and she smirked.

Yes, she smirked.

"WHAT?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Who's this guy? Devan?" mum inquired.

"A friend," I said casually.

"So, he's just a friend?" mum asked.

"Yeah mum," I said.

"Any further plans?" mum asked as she smirked, again.

"I am going to my room," I said, as I threw my hands in the air.

"So, there are plans?" she asked, as she giggled.

"Mum, I am going upstairs," I stated as I got up.

"My god, that means, there are plans," she finished.

"MOM, I AM GOING UPSTAIRS," I ran up the stairs.

I stopped when I reached upstairs and I looked back at mum. She was still staring at me, her hands on her hips. She was smirking devilishly.

Oh, gosh.

"No plans mum," I finally said.

"You can make plans if you want to, we don't have any problem you know," she smirked again.

Jay-Jay came out of his room, with half-finished hot Choco in his hand.

"What? No," I looked at Jay-Jay and then at mum, again at Jay-Jay and again at mum, "you know what? Never mind, I need to sleep," I finished.

"Good night sweetheart," she yelled behind my back.

She is crazy. I loved her so much.

Knock knock.

"Yeah?" I said.

Jay-Jay peeped in.

"Are you not going to eat your dinner? Why did she say good night to you? Are you going to sleep without eating your food?" he inquired.

"No jay-jay, she was just kidding," I assured.

"Okay Chummy, I got to go and see Pokémon, anyways, Pikachu is always going to win." He said proudly.

"Bye," I waved at him.

"Thanks for the Choco," he said and he closed the door behind him.
