Chapter 4. Victoria Justice & Santa Claus.
The day passed by, nothing was interesting except our family just having fun together like, every other single day. My mum, dad and I were talking about how my school was going and Jay-Jay was busy watching Pokémon. And whenever we would get loud, Jay-Jay would scream that he is trying to concentrate on the show and how much important the episode is.
My phone buzzed. I checked and it was a text from Devan.
I researched about that canteen guy. He is a stamped 'bad boy' of the school. He has got into many fights in the school and stuffs like those. Got to keep an eye on him or we got to stay away from him.
D.
I replied.
Why are you so interested in that guy? He is just, A RANDOM GUY. Forget it. And see you tomorrow. Good night, Devan.
M.
My phone buzzed again.
Okay, Good night, Mel. J
D.
After the dinner, I went to my room and changed into my comfy clothes, I took my laptop and tugged myself into the blanket. I turned my laptop on and started watching random YouTube videos. DIYs, Pranks, Q&A's, etc. and I killed all my time successfully, and it was 12:03am.
Good job Mel. I am proud of you.
I jumped off my bed, and arranged my backpack. I brushed my teeth, turned the lights off and I was back in my bed.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.
10 minutes later.
My phone buzzed. I promised myself if this was Devan again. I would kill him.
Hey. You sleeping?
A.
I replied.
Who's it this?
M.
My phone buzzed again in no time.
It's the 'Canteen Guy.' Lol. You scared?
A.
I didn't reply. Cause, I thought it wasn't very important. He was just a guy from school, who was not very nice, and he almost threatened us, in the canteen that day. Moreover, I don't even know his name. So, why should I? I plugged my phone in charge and dozed off to sleep.
* * * * * * * * * *
"Chummy wake up, we will run late, otherwise." Jay-Jay yelled.
"This is not how you should wake someone up Jay-Jay" I said with closed eyes and a small frown.
I opened my eyes and looked at Jason.
"I am sorry Chummy" he said, making a puppy face.
"It's okay, love. Good morning." I said with a small smile.
"Good morning" he said excited.
I gave him hug and sent him to have his breakfast, so I could get ready.I brushed, bathed and got ready. I was wearing a denim blue skinny jeans with an oversized white top that said 'Live. Laugh. Love.'
I tied my hair into a bun, I took my backpack and phone, and I walked downstairs.
"Good morning mom and dad," I greeted them with a smile.
"Good morning sweetie," mom said, with a smile.
"Dad?" I frowned.
"Good morning Mel" dad said, making a weird face making me laugh.
After finishing our sandwiches, dad insisted that he would drop Jay-Jay and me to school. We agreed.
Dad dropped Jason, leaving me and dad in the car.
"So, no friends yet?" Dad asked concerned.
"No. umm, actually yes," I said.
"What?" dad exclaimed, "Are you serious? Melissa Hayes made a new friend?" he finished.
"Yes, dad I did. His name in Devan, and he is a really good guy." I said.
"What's his full name?" dad enquired.
"Umm, dad, I don't actually know." I said raising both my eye brows.
"Oh, and how did you both become friends?" dad asked.
"He just crashed into me in the hallway and everything fell, and we ended up being friends." I finished.
Dad had his mouth wide opened, and he finally managed to say "okay, nice story. I mean, nice way of becoming friends."
I nodded.
Dad stopped in front of the school and I hoped out of the car. I waved him and walked into the school.
Devan didn't come to school. Wow. Great. Thank you so much.
I called him 15 times, but he won't pick up. So, I gave up.
Classes were so boring without him. I took down notes of whatever was taught, so I could help him later. Actually, I was kind of missing his stupid talks.
I went to the canteen and sat down with my chicken sandwich. I kept in mind to not sit in that Devil's seat again. So, I chose to sit on the complete opposite side of where his seat was.
I almost finished my sandwich, I took another bite and checked my phone, but there wasn't any messages from Devan.
"Where's that chick today?" someone said.
I removed my gaze from the phone and looked up at that person.
The Devil, was standing with the stupid smirk of his.
Yeah, he is handsome and all, but, I hate him. He is such a creep.
"If I recall, this isn't your seat now" I stated.
"I think you didn't get me. I asked where the chick is today?" he repeated his question.
"I don't sit with any chick, as you can tell," I answered.
"Let me make myself more clear, Devan's a chick," he finished.
"Watch your language, Mr. umm... whatever your name is" I said, as I got up from where I was sitting, wanting to go out of the canteen already.
"Okay, someone's angry. Well well, I should be angry at you, because you didn't text me back last night, if you recall." He stated.
"I didn't think it was important to text you back, because you know what? I don't even know your name and I have no idea from where you got my number." I said and I started walking away.
"Hey, wait. You cannot walk away like that. No one does that and you aren't special," he stated.
SO, why is he talking to me? Get the hell away from me.
"I AM AARON POWER, AND NOBODY WALKS OUT FROM ME, LIKE THAT. HOW DARE YOU?" He yelled at me.
I stopped and looked around. The crowd that had fortunately gathered around us, was giving the looks, as if I was an alien.
I turned and spoke "you know what? I don't care who you are and what everybody does to you. I don't want to make a mess. So you can leave me alone now."
'Aaron Power' looked around and snapped at the crowd "what?"
After a few seconds, the crowd was gone. And I started walking again.
He came by my side and started walking with me.
"What are you?" he asked me. He was shocked.
"Victoria Justice, happy with that?" I hissed, staring at him and again at the hallway.
"So, you want to compete me, do you?" he smirked again.
"You are challenging me, are you?" I matched his voice.
"Impressive. By the way, I didn't catch your name," he spoke out.
"I didn't toss it in the air, either," I said casually.
He was quite for a moment, but he kept walking with me. I think, he was thinking of some master plan to defeat me.
Holy cream fudge, I ain't going nowhere.
Bring it on 'Aaron Power.'
"Your eyes are like the ocean, and I think I am lost at sea," he stated dramatically.
He paused for my reply. Is this idiot, color blind or something?
"My eyes are brown," I said casually, not even looking at him.
"Can I take a picture of you? I want to show Santa Claus exactly what I want for Christmas." He said leaning towards me.
Why is he even talking to me? Ugh.
"Can I take a picture of you? I want to show the police exactly who I'm filing a restraining order against." I hissed.
"Do you have a Band-Aid? I just scrapped my knees while, falling for you," he stated.
"I have some salt though," I giggled.
I never imagined that this 'Devil' could say such pick-up lines. I am kind of interested talking to this guy. He is amazing. But, I still hate him though. This side of him, is so amusing.
I kept walking, I didn't know where I was going, but I was walking and enjoying a conversation with this guy.
"What would you say, if I asked you to marry me?" he asked.
"nothing." I paused, "cause, I cannot laugh and talk at the same time," I finished.
"Do you think that's fate that brought us together?" he said and sighed.
"No, it's a complete bad luck," I paused, "you tired? I win?" I finished.
"Never. Aaron Power never loses." He stated.
"Okay, go on," I said casually.
This guy is crazy.
"If you were a stop light, I'd turn red every time you passed by, just so I could stare at you a bit longer," He spoke.
"Red lights are the only thing I run," I countered.
"Fine, you win," he stated, rolling his eyes.
"You are such a girl," I giggled.
"I'll call you after school," he said turning around and walking away.
"Don't expect me to pick up," I yelled behind him.
