Chapter 3. Faith and Power.
Recap:
The car stopped by my side, and the tinted glass was up. It rolled down, in a while.
"Hey."
Recent:
My breathing stopped. I could barely feel my heart-beat. Guess who was that? THE MYSTERIOUS GUY.
Anyways, I won't be dumb in front of a guy with whom I'll talk for the first time, so yeah...
"Hi." I finally managed to say.
He smirked. Oh, the smirk. Breathe Mel, breathe.
I took a deep breath and gathered my confidence, as I realized that he is 'just' a random guy from school.
"What?" I said sternly, raising an eyebrow.
"Well umm... hi?" he stammered.
What the hell?
"If you'll excuse me, I got to pick my brother up. So, bye." I finished.
"Yeah, sure. Bye." He said, pulling back the smirk on.
I gave him a small smile and skated towards Jason's school.
After a while, someone honked behind me, again. Ugh.
I stopped. The car beside me and the windows rolled down. This time, it was Devan.
"Oh, you? Hey." I said.
"Were you expecting somebody else?" Devan asked.
"No" I said, "umm, the canteen guy talked to me." I finished.
"Oh okay. You could rather sit in my car and tell me the story. Could you?" Devan asked hopefully.
"There's no story, you know?" I said.
"So, is there something you want me to know?" he asked.
"Devan? Stop. He just said 'hi' twice and nothing else." I replied and giggled, seeing the concern.
"Okay, so come on, I'll drop you." He said.
I sat in the passenger seat and we were off.
"Do you like dogs?" Devan questioned.
"I am not an animal person. So, no. I don't like dogs." I replied, showing him the directions to Jason's school, at the same time.
"Oh!" he said.
I asked "and you?"
He said with a bright smile "I had a cat, and I loved it so much that, I gifted it to my aunt."
"So you are not an animal person too?" I smiled at his answer.
"Yeah," he said, "how far?" he continued.
"5 more minutes" I assured, as he stopped in one of the signals.
"You said the same thing five minutes ago too," he screeched.
"Five minutes ago, I told you to shut up and drive," I assured.

After us completing our laughter's, Devan finally spoke.
"So, if you are going to a trip or something, how many clothes do you take?" he asked.
Why would he ask me this? Was he going on some trip? Was it any secret mission? Was it any indirect question? Anyways, I would love to talk about this topic all day. Clothes. Shopping. I love it.
"If I am at home I'll be wearing the same sweat pants and shirt for three weeks but, it smells alright so I keep wearing it. Even though, this wasn't the question. I said it anyway and if I am on a trip I need one shirt for each day and an extra one too, if in case the shirt gets dirty and, I need same amount of pants too, no matter jeans or leggings and yeah, socks, I'll need extra socks too, in case if there's any flood or something. And, I need a super nice outfit in case I get invited to a tea with the queen. You never know. Do you?" I finished and I took a deep breath cause, I ran out of breath.
Phew. And I was kidding about wearing the same clothes for three weeks. Who does that? No one. Holy cream fudge, 21 days, and just one pair of clothes. Are you kidding me? No. nobody can do that!
"You learned that from me? You are welcome." He asked with a smirk.
"Learned what?" I asked.
"Talking so much?" he said.
"Yes.... Thank you so much." I replied. "STOP RIGHT THERE." I screamed.
"What's wrong?" he asked scared.
"We left the school behind. Damn." I said.
"Okay. We'll get there." He assured.
"Sure we will." I calmed myself down.
After 3 more minutes, we stopped near Jason's school. I hopped down the car and Devan yelled "I was supposed to open the door for you!"
I shrugged it off and said "I am just your friend okay?"
He said "friends and never 'just' things. Okay? They are hard to find-"
"CHUMMY," yelled Jason.
"Jay-Jay!" I lowered to his level and hugged him.
His hairs were a total mess.
"What happened to your hairs, Jay-Jay?" I asked.
"Faith made it." He said with a sparkle in his eyes.
"How on earth can faith style hair?" Devan popped in the conversation.
"Hey Jason, is this Chummy? You were talking about?" a very cute little girl asked Jason.
"Yes, she is Chummy," Jason replied to her.
"Hey there, pretty" I said kneeling down to their level.
"Hi Chummy. I am Faith. Faith Power. Do you mind if I call you chummy, too?" she asked tilting her head to the left.
I looked back at Devan and saw him staring at his car.
I looked back at Faith. Aw. She was so cute. I smiled at her.
May she not think I am mad. I looked at Devan and got up.
"Devan, you can go if you want to. I won't stop you. Thanks for the ride." I said to Devan.
"Okay, see you tomorrow?" Devan said.
"Yeah." I smiled and wave him off.
And then. He was gone.
I looked back. Faith and Jay-Jay were already talking.
"So, Faith, no I don't mind if you call me Chummy too." I said to her.
She just smiled.
"You did a very good hairstyle though. I like it." I continued.
"Thank you so much," she gave a wide smile.
Her eyes glittered. She was unbelievably pretty. I loved her, already.
"Faith, I'll see you tomorrow at school. Bye for now." Jay-Jay said to her.
"Good-Bye Jason." She said.
She spoke so beautifully. They both waved each other.
Jay-Jay and I walked home, because we both cannot skate together.Duh.
"I don't like that, umm, Demon." Jay-Jay said.
"Who's Demon?" I asked him.
"That guy." He said.
"Oh. His name is not Demon, Jason. His name is Devan. And, why don't you like him? He is really nice, trust me." I said.
"Okay, Chummy, I trust you. Is he you first friend here?" Jay-Jay asked.
"Yes, Jay-Jay," I assured him.
"oh." His mouth was in an 'O' gesture.
One of the car passed by us. And Faith's face popped out of the window. She waved us with a wide smile. And the car was gone in seconds. Jay-Jay was so excited. He was jumping up and down.
I just smiled at him.
"She is really nice, isn't she?" I asked him.
"very." He assured, pulling the 'y' as long as he could.
"I get it Jay-Jay. It's okay." I said.
He saw our house. And he ran away. But he stopped after a moment.
I went to his sides and asked "What's wrong?"
"I thought you are going to race with me. But you didn't run." He said, as he a made a puppy face.
"Three, two, one, Go!" I said.
And we raced into the house, almost breaking the door.
"We're home!" Jay-Jay and I yelled in a sync.
"I can understand by the sound," Mum said from the sofa.
I and Jay-Jay jumped in the sofa where mum was, making three of us bounce.
"We raised wild children," mum said, as she rolled her eyes.
Jay-Jay and I high-five-d.
