Chapter 20. Beyond Doubt.

I came back home. I didn't have to take Jay-Jay home cause, Shawn was supposed to take him to his place. I sat on my sofa and thought.

Thought about what was so wrong about me. I was still confused why Shawn was mad at me and was trying to keep distance from me. I didn't do anything bad as far as I know.

Aria called me about a thousand times to check on me if I was alive or dead. She swore that she is going to kill Shawn. She attempted so many ways to make me laugh. So, I just fake laughed for her to be satisfied and leave me alone, but whom was I kidding, she knew I wasn't really laughing. As soon as I hung up, it was followed by a text.

I will see you after school. I am not asking. :*
-Aria the Great.

She is such a pain in the ass. She would do anything to make me forget the conversation I had with Shawn. But the fact was, I remembered every word he said. Every pause he took. As if I memorized the whole conversation we had.

The feeling was kind of like a heart break even though you weren't committed to the guy. It felt miserable, but you couldn't help it.
I flicked through the gallery and kept watching those multi-shots of me and Shawn.

Why couldn't life be easy and we got whatever we wanted and whenever we wanted? But, that wouldn't be great so, hard way is to make us realize how badly we want something and how much we can fight for it. But I already gave up.

The doorbell rang and I opened it to find Aria standing there.

"Hey, you alright?" she enquired.
"Never been better," I said, sarcastically. Obviously.

She just rolled her eyes and sat on the sofa with a thud.
I sighed.

"Why are you acting like a pregnant woman?" she asked me.
"Do you even realize that I am sad, and I don't want to talk? Even if you are here, can't you be quiet and say nothing at all," I said annoyed.
"I am sorry okay? I will make that nut head understand what he did and what he lost, alright?" she said, determination in her voice.
"No, you aren't," I opposed.
"What?" she yelled, "I am going to crack open his head," she finished.
"NO," I said, almost yelled.
"I am."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Totally."
"I am not having this conversation anymore," I gave up, "you have to promise me right now, you are not going to talk to Shawn about me, at all," I finished.
"Okay," she sighed.
"You swear," I asked.
"I swear," she said.
"Fine," I sighed, "now you may leave me all by myself," I finished.
"Sure, see you at school tomorrow," she said.

I stayed quiet.

"Don't even plan on skipping," she threatened.
"Okay fine. Now go," I said.
"Love you," she said and hugged me.

I hugged her back and she went out the door, after giving me a smile.

- - - - - - -

Three days in school after the conversation I had with Shawn was pretty much the same. It would just be me not trying to get on his way. Every day, we would just smile at each other if we accidentally caught each others' gaze. I would sit miles away from him on the same classes and during lunch, we didn't sit together, because he magically vanished somewhere, each day.

I even made up my mind to follow him during lunch to see where he goes, but then I changed my mind.

Four Days Later. . .

Ting Tong....

I rang the house bell of the Collins and waited. It was Sunday and I feared that Shawn will open the door and I would faint instantly.
I was here on their door, to take back Jay-Jay because mom and dad would be returning today so, they asked to bring him home.

The door opened, revealing Shawn with messy hairs.

Damn my luck. He was perfection. I couldn't believe I fell in love with the guy, whom I hated. Who cut off my hairs and annoyed me to a whole new level.

"I.. uh... came here to, umm... take Jay-Jay home," I said.
"Oh, sure. Come in," he shifted, giving me enough place to enter the house, "I'll go and call him," he finished.
"Okay," I said and walked past him.

This is like, talking to a guy whom you don't just know but you love, as if they were strangers. It is the most awkward thing to do.

I scanned to find Uncle and Aunt Collins but they weren't home.

"Chummy," Jay-Jay screamed and embraced me into a hug, "I missed you so so so so so so so so much, and I love you so so so so so-"
"I know Jay-Jay, I love you too and I missed you too," I said cutting him off, hugging him back.
"Chummy you wait here, and talk to him, till then I'll go and bring my backpack," Jay-Jay announced.
"Sure," I said with a smile.

I missed him. It's like he carried positivity around him. He was ball of positivity and happiness.

"How are you?" asked Shawn.
"I am good. Thanks, and what about you?" I asked.
"Uh, I think I am good too," he said, looking at him feet.

We kept quiet.

"I was wondering..."
"I was wondering..."

We both said at the same time. We just looked at each other and smiled about it.

"You go first," Shawn said.
"I was wondering where did your parents go?" I asked.
"They are out on a meeting, they'll be back in a day or two," he said.
"Oh, and what were you wondering?" I asked.
"I was wondering if you could meet me at Royal Park today, at 4," he asked.
"Uh, I am not sure," I said.
"No, it's okay. I understand," he said.
"You understand?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"Umm... no I don't but, can you please come?" he said, looking at me.
"I will," I said, nodding my head.
"Thank you," he said, with sparkles in his eyes.
"You are welcome," I said with a smile.

I was scared, that he will push me away, more. I didn't want to go. But a little hope that, he will realize things and tell me why he's mad at me, was forcing me to agree with him and I did.

I took Jay-Jay home. Our houses isn't far from Shawn's', a few blocks away.

"Jay-Jay, I'll be gone for an hour; you need to take care of yourself alright?" I said.
"Okay," he said.
"And, you will not open the door no matter who comes," I said.
"Okay," he repeated.
"Mom has an extra key and so do I, so we will just come in, and rest, you wouldn't even-"

Jay-Jay cut me off.

"See who it is, and pretend like nobody's home, and make no noise," Jay-Jay finished the sentence for me.
"Good boy," I patted his head.
"Chummy it's not like I am staying at home alone for the first time," he said, "I am a big boy," he pouted.
"Sure you are," I smiled, "okay bye, I'll close the door. Take care," I finished.
"I will," he said.

I walked out of the house, locking it behind me.

It took around ten minutes to reach the Royal Park and it was 4:20 when I reached. I scanned the park to see Shawn and I caught him looking at my direction. He waved hands and I skated to his way.

"Hey," I said.
"I thought you wouldn't come," he panicked.
"Here I am," I said, pointing at myself.
"I noticed," he said.
"So, why did you call me here?" I asked.
"Are you mad at me?" he asked, lowering his head.
"Is this what you want to talk about? " I questioned.
"Yes," he stated.
"I don't want to talk about it," I said and started walking towards home.

This is not what I get right? I was dying to find reasons and here all he cared about was whether I was mad at him or not. Of course, I wasn't mad at him, I was hurt and more than that, I wanted to know why was he being so weird with me.

"No wait, " he said and turned me around.

I stared at him blankly.

"I want you back," he said all of a sudden.
"I am right here Shawn, why did you push me away?" I asked, walking near him.
"I lied to you," he stated.
"About what?" I asked him, confused.
"About you being a random girl and a random star," he said.

I still remembered the conversation in the parking lot. I still remembered this sentence. I still remembered how much it hurt, to be just another girl for Shawn.

"What about that?" I asked still confused.
"You are not just a random girl Mel, you are my girl. You are not just a star; you are my whole damn galaxy, okay? " he said shaking me by my shoulders.

I stood their quiet, not believing what I just heard.

"Say something, anything," he urged.
"Are you serious?" I asked as a small smile crept on my face.
"I haven't been this serious before," he said pulling me into a hug.

Someone cleared their throats. Shawn and I pulled away from the hug. I turned around to see Aria and Aaron smirking. I frowned.

"You talked to him didn't you?" I asked Aria.
"No, I swear," she exclaimed, "you said I couldn't say anything, but Aaron could right?" she finished.
"What exactly did you say Aaron?" I asked Aaron.
"Turns out, this guy over here, was jealous of me being around you," Aaron said, pointing at Shawn.

I frowned.

"Shawn was jealous of you?" I asked, looking at Shawn and then back at Aaron.

All three nodded their heads.

"He is a nut head," Aria said.
"No doubt," Aaron agreed.
"I know," Shawn agreed too.
"I know too," I joined them.

Aria and Shawn just laughed at us, titled their heads and said 'aww'.
What the hell? No. I don't want ooh's and aww's now.

"Go away, I'm not done yet," Shawn said.
"Okay, we'll just turn around," Aria said.

Aaron and Aria turned around.

"So?" I faced Shawn.
"You are going to make me do this?" he asked messing his hairs.
"Do what?" I asked.
"I am not going to kneel on the ground," he said looking at me pleadingly.

I just kept staring at him, and admired how cute he was.

"YES YOU ARE, BE A LITTLE ROMANTIC YOU IDIOT," Aaron yelled.
"You are not supposed to listen," Aria hissed.
"You were listening too," Aaron complained.

"Let me concentrate you all," Shawn yelled at them.
"Fine," Aria and Aaron said in sync.

"I am still not going to kneel on the ground, but Mel, this is still real," he whispered in my ears.
"Okay," I said smiling.

I knew it was a dream, but I didn't want it to end. Ever.
I wanted my life to pause here.

"I love you Mel," Shawn whispered into my ears.
"You what?" I almost screamed my heart out, not sure of what I just heard.
"I love you, I really do, trust me," he said, putting his hand on his heart.

I kept smiling at him. God, my heart.

"He really does, trust us," Aria said, "right Aaron?" she finished.
"Right," Aaron added.

"I love you more," I said looking at Shawn and pulling him into a hug.
"I love you the most," he said lifting me up.

Shawn kissed my forehead. 'Awww' I screamed in my mind.

"Awww," Aria squealed looking at us and back at Aaron.

Aaron kissed her too.

"My love for you in beyond doubt," Shawn whispered in my ears putting me down, "I let you go once and I'm not going to let it happen again." He finished.

"Neither am I."
