Chapter 11. Bucket List and Cookies.

"So, where do you want to go?" Shawn asked as we drove away from the mall.

"You tell me," I said.

"There's not enough fuel in it, so at first, let's feed the beast," he chuckled.

"Alright and where should we go after that?" I asked.

"I don't know, umm, the mountain top?" he asked.

"Sure," I agreed.

After adding fuel in the jeep, and buying some ruffles, Arizona, cookies and candies, we were on our way to the mountain top.

After fifteen minutes of ride, through the forest with, loud music and Shawn, we reached the mountain top. Shawn stopped his jeep and we hopped out.

The view was so nice, the river downtown, the cities, the tall buildings, the lights and everything was breath taking. The crescent moon, the sky full of stars and the clouds were mesmerizing.

"Beautiful," I said, taking a deep breath.

Shawn just smiled. He sat on the grass, and opened a bag of ruffles. I sat beside him.

"Shawn?" I said.

"Yeah Mel," he said.

"How long are you gonna stay here?" I asked.

"You know the vacant land, after two more houses from yours?" he asked.

"Yeah, what about that land?" I asked.

"My dad's making a house there, we are going to shift from Texas, to here," he said.

"So, why did you come early? Why didn't come with your parents?" I asked.

"Cause, the session is staring and they won't take me if I come in the middle of the year, so I had to come early," he said.

"Oh, and when are your parents coming?" I asked.

"They'll come when the house is ready, with all the furniture and all," he said.

"And till then, you are staying with us, aren't you?" I asked.

"Yeah, I am, maybe that will take a year long," he answered.

"A year?" I asked.

"Yeah, why are you asking me this?" he asked.

"No, it's just.... Dad told me that you are here for only a month," I said.

"And you promised him that you will behave well with me, if, your mum cooks you pancakes with chocolate chips?" he giggled as if, it was something weird to ask for.

"How do you know this?" I frowned.

"You know, your dad and mum trusts me," he said and winked.

"Oh god, what else did they tell you?" I asked.

"They told that you were really pissed when, they told you that I was coming over at your place, and you were really mad," he said.

"Oh, it's just fine," I clarified.

"Look Mel, I can drive you around the town in that jeep, but please don't hate me. I won't annoy you, I promise," he said, stuffing some more ruffles into his mouth.

"I don't hate you and please, save some for me," I said.

"Save what?" he asked.

"Ruffles," I clarified.

"There are two more bags, how much do you need?" he asked.

"Fine, eat them all loser," I giggled.

I got up and went to the jeep to bring the other bag and two cans of Arizona.

"Mel, should I tell you something?" he asked.

"Sure," I said, sipping the Arizona.

"You know this is weird, but I always wanted a kind of friendship where, you can call each other offensive names, like, slut, whore, bitch and all," he said.

"More like, loser, creeper and all?" I asked.

"Yeah," he said.

"Mmhmm," I said nodding my head, and stuffing some ruffles into my mouth.

"So? Can we be that?" he asked.

"I will crack your skull from the middle and feed your brain to the dogs if you call me a, slut or a whore," I hissed.

"But we'll know that you are not one of those, it's just for fun," he said.

"No way. I am not gonna officially allow to call me a slut or a whore," I said.

"Okay, can I at least call you bitch? And umm, in return you can call me whatever you want. I swear I won't get mad at you," he swore.

"You sure? I can call you anything I want to?" I asked, and narrowed my eyes.

"Yeah you can, but, I'll call you bitch," he said, arching his eyebrows.

"Fine, what if I call you a dog? Or a pea-head? Or..... loser?" I asked.

"I am okay with it." he asked.

"You are so weird," I said making a face.

His phone rang, he looked at the display and said "Your momma."

'No... Sure....Yeah...Soon....Mountains.....Yeah perfect.....Love you too Aunt Hayes.....Sure.....Okay.....I will.....no no....Okay.....Bye'

And then, he hung up.

"I think we should go?" I asked.

"Yeah, let's go," he said getting up from the grass.

He put forward his hand, I held it and got up on my feet.

"Thanks," I said, removing the grasses from my jeans.

"No problem, Bitch," he said and winked.

Why did I allow him to do that? Shit.

"Ugh." I groaned, throwing my hands in the air.

"What?" he asked.

"I never imagined myself allowing someone to call me a 'BITCH' officially. This is disgusting," I said.

"Okay I won't call you that anymore, it's fine if you don't like it," he said and walked away to the jeep.

"Hey, wait," I ran towards him.

"What?" he asked rolling his eyes.

"Don't walk away," I said.

"I am not," he said.

"But you were," I said.

"I am sorry," he said.

"No, I am sorry. You can call me that, loser," I said with a smile.

"You would let me?" he asked with a bright face and sparkling eyes.

Aww... so cute!

"Yes, I would, now you can smile. You little cream-fudge," I said, punching his muscles.

"Ow. Well, we are okay with being 'that' friends, right?" he asked.

"Yeah yeah yeah, right," I said.

"Thank you so much, this is like, an extra tick on my bucket list," he exclaimed.

"Your what?" I asked.

"Bucket list," he clarified.

"Holy mother of cream fudge, you have a bucket list?" I asked, almost screaming.

"Yes I do, who doesn't? And you should not say that 'cream fudge' thing, it's annoying," he said.

"Whatever," I said, rolling my eyes.

We sat in our seats and tightened our seat belts. Shawn put the key in, and the beast roared into life, again.

"You have to show me," I said.

"Show what?" he asked, his eyes fixated on the road.

"Your bucket list," I answered him.

"No way," he said.

"I wasn't asking you. I was telling you," I confirmed.

"Fine," he agreed.

"So, today, when we'll get home, tell mum that you want me to skip school tomorrow cause, you have to go shopping. Then, we'll go to the Starbucks or McDonald, I don't care. Or even the park will be fine. We'll go there and you are showing me your bucket list," I said confident.

"Why do you think, I would do any of that?" he asked smirking, emphasizing the 'any.'

"Cause I asked you to and you know, you want me not to hate you, so you gotta do these," I said, blackmailing him.

"I am not gonna do any of these," he said.

"You can't do this much for me? Do I mean this little to you? Oh, Shawn you are breaking my heart," I said, faking a sob.

"You are such a drama queen," he said, moving his head.

"Would you do these or not?" I asked.

"I won't," he confirmed.

"Fine," I said and looked away.

"Okay, I will. Ugh," he said.

"Yay, that's like my loser," I mocked.

"And that's totally like a bitch," he said annoyed.

We both laughed.

After half an hour, we were home. I bought some fish food for Goldy, on our way back. I hopped out. Shawn parked his Jeep and I was waiting for him to come along.

We got in the house. Jay-Jay was already asleep. Shawn convinced my mum about skipping the school thing. She agreed happily.

I hugged my dad and told him a bit about the day. I told mum that I won't eat dinner, because I was full already.

I said 'good-night' to everyone and walked upstairs. I filled in a circular glass vessel with water and dropped Goldy in it. She's really pretty. I placed the jar in my desk.

I changed into my comfy clothes and put my phone on charge, because it was dying. I checked the time it was 11:13 pm, I texted Devan and Aaron about me not coming to school tomorrow.

I took out the blanks and tugged myself in, and turned the lights off, that's when I realized, I was a bit hungry. I thought of texting Shawn.

Me: Where are the ruffles or cookies or whatever?

Shawn: in my room, want some?

Me: Are you eating those?

Shawn: yeah, do you want me to save some for you?

Me: Yeah, can you give me the cookies?

Shawn: sure, come and get it.

Me: yeah, on my way.

I hopped out of my bed, turned the lights on, went out of my room and knocked on Shawn's door.

He opened the door and I walked in.

"Where are they?" I asked, scanning the room, to find the cookies.

He sat on the corner of his bed, he bent down to open the drawer of the side table, and took out the pack of cookies.

"Thanks," I said, snatching the packet and ripped it open, "Where you hiding these?" I asked curious.

"Yeah, cause you are such a monster," he giggled.

"Shut up," I spat out.

"Don't forget you are in my room, woman," he cocked an eyebrow.

"Don't forget you are in my house," I matched his tone.

"Don't forget your mum and dad trusts me with everything," he mocked again.

"Shut up," I snapped.

"You give up?" he asked hopefully.

"I never give up, just concentrating in the cookies cause, they are better than you," I said, smirking.

Before he could say anything, I got up from the bed and said "Hey, I am really really sleepy, see you tomorrow."

"Good night," Shawn said with a smile.

"OH MY GOD," I yelled, "you have manners? Good for you. Good night," I finished, closing the door behind me.

I walked into my room, took my diary out of my backpack and wrote everything that I did today.

I really enjoyed the jeep ride and spending those moments with Shawn on the mountain. I wrote about the man, who gifted me the goldfish. And Aaron's face when he realized he didn't have to talk to strangers was priceless.... I wrote down everything.

People around me really made me happy. They were the best of all.

I closed my diary and kept it back in the backpack. I saw a paper, tagging out of my diary, I took it out and it showed 'Wish List'.... I took the pen and wrote 'Buy a jeep' and then zipped the chain of my backpack closed.

Turning the lights off, I dozed off to sleep with a smile plastered on my face.

A good nights sleep.
