~*Wei Wuxian's POV*~

I watched Xichen-Ge disappear from the Hanshi and then I turned to look at Lan Zhan. He looked back at me, the new warmth I could feel radiating off of him was nice. It was like he was happy, not just because of me, but there was something else.

"You look good today, Lan Zhan," I told him.

"Had a good talk with Huan-Ge," he said.

"I'm happy for you," I told him, "I kind of envy you a little on that. He is a kind man, and you have him as a brother."

"Your brother too," he said, "he loves you like you are his brother too."

"I feel undeserving of him and you," I told him and leaned back on the bed. My back rested against the headboard.

"Why?" He asked.

"I just feel like I don't deserve a lot of things," I told him.

"You deserve everything, Wei Ying," he said, "and I will spend every second of my life, proving that to you. My brother will do the same. You have been hurt and broken for so long, that you don't know what is good for you. You don't know your own self-worth."

"I guess that talk with your brother let you start speaking more freely," I told him.

"And I will continue to with you and him. Only you and him," he said.

"Why do you love me?" I asked him.

"Because you are my soulmate, and my equal. Your smile is the most beautiful smile in the world. Your laugh is so enchanting and it lets me know you are happy. Seeing you, makes me feel happy. I see you and my heart knows it wants you. It loves you and I love you. Always will too," he answered.

I sat up and straddled his lap. He was a bit surprised by my sudden action, but was soon understanding what I was going to do. I leaned in and kissed him. His arms, his comforting strong arms, wrapped around me and held me close to him. I held onto his face gently as I progressed further by brushing my tongue across his lips. He placed a hand on the back of my head and held me more firmly as he managed to pry my mouth open with his and pushed his tongue in.

Through heated panting and hands remained only exploring the upper body. A moan escaped my mouth as I melted further into him. His hand reached my waist and squeezed, causing me to jerk my hips forward. A light groan left him which caused me to come back from being lost into the kiss. I couldn't pull away though, I was too into him and his taste and touch to want to pull back.

~*Lan Xichen's POV*~

I stopped over to Wen Qing's new residence here in Cloud Recesses. She had settled in quite well. Along with her brother Wen Ning and their little nephew A'Yuan, who has yet to meet A'Xian. Since A'Xian was doing better, maybe he can visit him soon.

"Zewu Jun," she greeted, "pleasant to see you."

I bowed my head and then looked at her, "as it is to see you. I have brought an update on A'Xian," I told her.

"Oh?" She asked, "and you want me to come and look at him for a moment?"

I nodded, "he has a new golden core. We just need to know how much resentment is left in his body so we can adjust his treatments accordingly," I told her.

"Already?" She asked surprised, "and he did it?! It's a breakthrough. He has helped a lot with my theories of the golden core and I am actually happy to see this through."

I smiled at her, "she we head out then?" I asked her.

"Of course," she said. She was clearly excited about this new development.

I don't know why, but I just found it kind of cute. Seeing her happy like this. I admired her talents as a healer. She has a lot of knowledge and is always willing to learn more.

"If you'd like, I can get you a pass to the library. We have a good section of medical books and scrolls that I'm sure you'd love to look through," I told her.

"I would appreciate that," she said happily, "you know, I admire you, Zewu Jun. I have only lived under the rule of Wen Ruohan and his...greed for many things. When I met Sect Leader Jiang Wanyin, I felt he was kind but there is a part of him that really needs to be worked out. He gave me a comb and I sort of picked up on his intentions. I'm not sure if I have those same intentions. As for you, I admire you because you choose not to judge for other's background or who their family was. I admire your justice for equality and respect for others. So I want to say, thank you for all you have done for me and my family."

"Of course," I told her, "if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask me."

"I will remember that," she said.

I soon lead her inside the Hanshi but we were stopped by the sudden sight. Wei Wuxian was straddling Wangji's lap and they were engaged in a heavy kissing session. I looked at Wen Qing who couldn't help but giggle and shake her head at the sight. I huff out a chuckle and then turned to the boys.

"Hey!" I said loudly making them jump.

Wei Wuxian jumped and pulled back holding his lip, "ow!"

"Sorry!" Wangji said holding his head with his hands.

A'Xian laughed, "it's alright, let's just call it a love bite," he teased.

Wangji smiled, "deal."

Wuxian then moved off Wangji's lap and turned to me, "did you have to be so harsh about it?" He asked me.

"No, but it was funny. I scared you both," I said.

"You caused him to bite me," he complained.

"Not my problem," I said, "Wen Qing is here to check your progress."

"Fine," A'Xian said, "but this conversation isn't over."

I looked at him with a smirk, "is that a threat?" I asked.

"No, I'm just saying, this conversation will continue a little later," he said as Wen Qing took his wrist.

"Oh, get over it," Wen Qing said, "you can go back to sucking Wangji's face off when I am done."

"So, who would you rather be with, Zewu Jun or my Shidi?" A'Xian asked her.

She then took out a couple needles, "do you want to be put down?" She asked, "I don't tolerate teasing like some people."

"Awe, Qing-Jie, I know you care for me, you don't need to be so aggressive," A'Xian told her.

"Mnn," she hummed, "your core is actually at a pretty good strength for it just being developed not long ago. I am not sure what these boys told you, but Meditate once in the morning, and once at night for at least an hour. Since you have a core now, spend an hour in the cold spring now and meditate while you are there. You can cultivate your new core while you are healing. I can also adjust the medicine you are taking. Something a bit stronger and that can handle your new spiritual energy strength."

"Okay," A'Xian agreed, "thank you...and I have to tell you, the theory of the core, I think is something to take note of."

Wen Qing nodded, "I will...now you still have an eight of resentful energy within you. I imagine that is helping your body stay together as you heal but I also think it is what connects the Yin Hu Fu to you. While you say there is a possibility that anyone can control it, you are it's main owner as you created it. You have more power over it. I will help Zewu Jun look for a way to help destroy that amulet when you are ready. There has to be a way and not cause a huge backlash."

"I remember telling Xichen-Ge about taking it to the mounds where it was made when that time comes. It may be useful in doing so," A'Xian explained.

"Alright," she said, "I will get your new medicine brewing. I hope you and Lan Wangji are being careful."

"Ah, we haven't done anything other then kiss," A'Xian said in a panic.

"I know, just a suggestion," Wen Qing said before leaving.

I am thinking of pairing Wen Qing with Xichen. Maybe Nie Mingjue but Wen Qing seems to be a bit more of a reason as she is around Xichen a lot.
