Tournament Time
*Time-skip: 2 weeks later...*
"Hurry up!" An obnoxious kid cried.
"Hey, don't push!" Another kid yelled back.
"I'm gonna be first!" A rambunctious kid vowed.
"Not if I can help it!" The obnoxious kid replied.
"I said stop pushing!" The other kid screeched.
"Outta of my way!" The rambunctious kid screamed.
"I swear, if you push me one more time, I'll—"
"That—is—enough!" Yelled a familiar voice.
The kids stopped yelling at each other, then turned to face a young girl. A very angry young girl.
"Stop all of this nonsense right now or so help me! I'll make sure that all of you are disqualified before the first match begins!" Madoka screeched in irritation.
All of the bladers gasped in horror, bowing their heads in shame. The kids muttered a few apologies, then excused themselves to the arena.
"Geez, kids these days! They haven't even got into the arena yet! What are they in such a hurry for?" Madoka huffed with a sneer.
"Funny you say kids, when you're a whole kid yourself. Didn't expect to heard you so loud and clear this early." Gingka said while rubbing his ear.
"Huh? Oh hey Gingka! I didn't expect to see you so soon! Well, before the tournament starts anyway." Madoka waved with a toothy grin.
"Hey Madoka! Sooner is better than later, so here I am! I was supposed to meet up with Kenta, but I kinda lost track of time. Did you happen to see him pass through here?" Gingka replied with a hand glued to his face, looking around sporadically.
"Oh right Kenta! I think I saw him pass through the main entrance 30 minutes ago, but I'm not too sure. I got caught up in all the new blades coming in today! From the balance of the performance tip to the shape of the fusion wheel, I just can't get enough!" Madoka beamed with her hands folded in delight.
"Uh huh, sounds great. I like shiny fusion wheels too. Too bad about Kenta, but I'm sure I'll see him soon! Did you see anyone else you knew?" Gingka asked, planting his hands on his hips.
"Eh, you're lost. And yeah I sure did! I saw Tsubasa and Yu pass through, then Kyoya walked in with Benkei trailing after him. I doubt he's registered in the tournament though. Hyoma said he's gonna be late, but I'm sure he'll be here! It's Ryuga that I don't know about, but you know him. Always plotting some type of victory!" Madoka explained, counting the guys on her left hand.
"Wow, so everybody's here! I'm glad to hear it! I can't wait to face them in the area! Plus, all other kinds of strong opponents! I just get so pumped when battling, you know?" Gingka hollered with tighten fists.
"Not in the slightest. But I definitely know that you do! So, what are you waiting for? Stop talking to me, and go find Kenta! Find him and win the tournament once and for all!" Madoka cheered boldly.
"You're right Madoka! I am wasting time! Thanks for the heads up, so I'll be sure to win! See ya later!" Gingka promised with a blinding smile.
"You got this Gingka! I'll be rooting for you in the stands!" Madoka shouted back, while waving her arms.
Just as Madoka walked away to the stairwell, Gingka ran through the hallway to the underground entrance. Racing through the quiet tunnel, until he arrived at the end, greeted by radiant sunlight.
"Hey there Kenta! Sorry I'm late." Gingka apologized with a sheepish grin.
"Geez Gingka, what a great start. At least you showed up before the tournament started." Kenta fumed with his arms crossed.
"Hehehe yeah, I really lucked out this time. But here I am! Ready to du—I mean ready to battle!" Gingka stammered nervously.
"Umm, ready to what?" Kenta asked in confusion.
"Nothing Kenta. Just excited for some bey battles! Now shhh! The tournament's about to start." Gingka replied with a finger to his lips, and the shake of his head.
And with that, the announcer began to announce the start of the tournament, with the tap of his microphone.
"Welcome to the Grand Blade Tournament! Bladers from all over the country have gathered here today to compete against others for the top spot in Japan! But there can only be one team left, is what all of you thought right?" The announcer smirked.
"Ha! Yeah obviously!" A random guy snickered.
"Well, you're all wrong because this isn't the tag-team tournament that you hoped for!" The announcer shouted deviously.
"Wait what?!" The random guy screamed in surprise.
"Instead of working together with your partners, you'll be competing against them! I hope you're prepared for that because if you're not then scram! We don't need you in this competition! However, that's only for the first five minutes! After that, you'll be forced to stay here and participate with the others. But for those of you who are prepared, then get ready to battle! This is gonna be one heck of a ride!"
