Gingka vs. Who

Everything seemed to stand still for a moment. The whole crowd in the stands were completely shock by the announcer's blunt words, with their mouths tightly shut in surprise. While the participants standing down below were shaking in anger and utter confusion.

"Now then, let's list the members of the tournament!" The announcer exclaimed happily.

"We've set up this year's tournament by placing everyone into 2 main brackets: the winners bracket and the losers bracket. So even if you lose the match, you still have a chance to play in the tournament! However, once you lose a total of three matches, then you will be booted from the arena and disqualified from the tournament. You may join the crowd to watch the tournament, but you will not be applicable to partake in the match." The announcer bellowed.

"Say what?!" Blader #1 cried.

"No way!" Blader #2 screamed in disbelief.

"Uso! Setsume oji-san!" Blader #3 yelled back.

And just like that, everything went quiet again. But for a different reason. Everyone whipped their heads over to the last guy with raised eyebrows and surprised stares. Until one of the bladers stepped out of the crowd to break the unbearable silence.

"Hey, you do know this is the English version right?" Blader #1 asked as he explained.

"Oh right! My bad guys. Lemme try again: 'No way! Explain old man!'" Blader #3 apologized bashfully.

"I just don't get it. Instead of working together, you want us to fight against each other?! I know this is a tournament, but how'd you get that idea? What happened to the classic tag-team match, huh? Is that too much to ask?" Gingka asked while grinding his teeth.

"Heh, I don't know guys, maybe he's on to something. It's a pretty wild something, but it's something that we've never done before, so why not give it a try?" Tsubasa suggested with a shrug.

"On to something? The only thing he's onto is a first class ticket to looney town! Just who does this announcer think he is? I came here for a bey battle, a fair bey battle and nothing else! How can I have a fair battle when I'm working with underhanded tactics?" Gingka screeched with hands balled-up into fists.

"Then don't! You can question him all you want, but I doubt that he's gonna change his mind. If you wanna walk away, then that's fine by me! Just run away to the circus to find a new pair of clown shoes, while you're at it! Do that while I stand here and fight! You've already won one championship, so why do you need one more?" Tsubasa yelled back with a pointed finger.

"Why you--"

"Enough! That's more than enough out of you two! One more word and you're both disqualified on the spot! Is that clear? Good! Now get back with your partners!" The announcer demanded irritably.

Gingka and Tsubasa glared at each other, then stopped at the announcer's words. They gave each other one last look, then walked back to their comrades.

"Good. Now that that's out of the way, let's get down to business. Everyone line up! Group A stand on the left, and Group B stand to the right. Now line up with your partners and face each Group." The announcer commanded with the wave of his hand.

Everyone was confused at first, looking side to side wondering where to go. But when they gazed down at their tournament tickets, they saw that each ticket was labeled with an "A" or a "B". So once the discovery was made, every blader dispersed into their assigned group.

"I'm glad y'all know your lefts from your rights. Whoever it is that you're facing from the opposite side, is going to be you're next opponent after you've fought your partner. But if you lose your match, then there's no need to fear! I'll be making a loser bracket for those who've picked up loses and wish to redeem themselves once again. Is everybody ready?" The announcer asked with a mischievous smile.

The competitors looked at him, glanced back at each other, then gave him a shaky thumbs up.

"Yes? Then great! Now get back to your bey stadiums and battle!" The announcer ordered in a frenzy.

"Hey Gingka, I was excited to battle with you, but not against you. I know you're supposed to be my rival and all, but you're my friend too! A great one at that! I just don't know what to make of this." Kenta explained, while shaking his head.

"I know Kenta, I feel the same way. That stupid announcer really gets on my nerves. But it looks like he's running the show here, so we don't have any other choice. So for now, let's make the most of situation and battle with all our heart!" Gingka cheered in reassurance.

"But Gingka, I don't think--"

"You said that you wanted to battle me again, right? Not Hikaru, not Benkei, but me! You chose me to be your worthy rival, and now you're just gonna run away from it? What kinda rivalry is that?! So quit hesitating and fight me already! You want a rematch so bad, then come and get one!" Gingka ranted relentlessly.

"Alright, alright already! I accept your challenge, so stop mocking me and ready your bey!" Kenta hollered with his launcher in hand.

"Haha ok! That's what I'm talking about! Let's go Pegasus!" Gingka shouted with a blinding grin.

"Are all you bladers ready? Then let the battle begin!" The announcer cried boisterously.

"Three, two, one! Let it rip!" The announcer and fans alike cried as they counted down the match.

Once they stopped the count down, Gingka, Kenta, Tsubasa, and the rest of the tournament's competitors launched their beyblades into battle with a fierce roar and tenacity to win.
