(Do not that this is a Shalt request so yeah,hope you would enjoy it.)

Valt Aoi,how far would he go to protect his best friend Shu Kurenai?

Would he go as far as to throw away his blading beliefs to protect him?

Even if it meant throwing away his bond with Valtryek?

Yes,he would.

Deep down,he knew that Ashtem would not let Shu,aka Red Eye to leave that easily.

But maybe a trade would do.

"I'm quitting the snake pit Ashtem! I'm tired of your games!"Shu exclaimed,realising after his battle with Valt that this wasn't the way to gain the strength he wanted.

"You think its easy to quit?"Ashtem asked with a chuckle which immediately made Shu think about what he might be up to.

Ashtem was a cunning and manipulative man as he pulled the strings behind everything that happened during Project Requiem.

"Now that I have a new blader I got no use of you. After all you did lose to Valt Aoi despite everything I did."Ashtem commented,to him any loser would only become a pawn in this chess match he was playing.

"I shall create a new bey which far exceeds Spryzen Requim with the help of the current world champion."he continued.

"no way...he didn't."Shu's eyes widened in pure shock from the news he just received,at that moment he wanted to just pinch himself and wake up from this soon to be nightmare.

Footstep sounds suddenly appeared as Shu turned around to see his best friend,Valt Aoi in a snake pit outfit,his spiky hair was now down as he wore a blank expression on his face.

"Hi Shu!"Valt exclaimed,suddenly breaking into a smile which quickly made Shu think back to when they were little.

Back then,they were always together,they played together,did homework together,laugh together.

Shu lunged forward as he placed his hands on Valt's shoulder.

"NO WAY! I WON'T LET YOU JOIN ASHTEM!"Shu angrily exclaimed as he looked right into the brown eyes of his best friend.

Valt's sweet smile constantly remained  as he pushed Shu's hand off his shoulder.

"Don't worry Shu,after two years I can leave."Valt comforted him,clearly fine with what he was doing.

"At least now you can leave."

"No! Who knows what Ashtem can do,as your best friend I can't let you stay here!"Shu continued,his voice obviously showing his desperation of him not wanting Valt to go down this path.

"And as your best friend I can't let you continue being Red Eye."Valt simply replied.

Deep down,there was always a reason to why Valt would do the things he would do.

After the fight he had with Lui right after he fought Shu,Lui made him realised that he did not know everything about his best friend like he proclaimed to be.

He felt guilty that he was not able to stop Shu from becoming Red Eye in the beginning.

But now he was repaying it,by taking Shu's place in the snake pit so that he could leave unharmed.

"Your an idiot Valt! How far would you go just for me! It was my mistake for becoming Red Eye!"Shu continued,his voice breaking.

Fear coarsed through his body as he thought about what kind of things Valt might have to go through in the Snake Pit.

That's when a trap door opened beneath Shu and he quickly fell in it,before he could fully submerge into the dark abyss below,he held onto the ground.

"VALT DON'T DO THIS!"Shu yelled

Upon hearing that,Valt bent down and offered his hand to Shu who quickly grabbed it.

It was just like yesterday that this exact same scene happened,but now the roles have switched.

Valt held Shu's hand as he dangled over the abyss,not even bothering to pull him up as he whispered his final words,a comforting smile on his face.

"I'll do anything to help a friend."

With that said,Valt let go as he slowly watched Shu fall before turning around to walk away as Shu watch his back while the trapdoor closes.

After realising what Valt did for him,Shu knew that nothing he would do could repay the loyalty that was shown to him.

So all Shu could do was continue training his hardest and enjoy blading despite losing.

To continue the philosophy of his best friend Valt Aoi who sacrificed everything for his sake.

When one door closes,another opens to a new opportunity.

As Shu knew that unlike him,Valt Aoi was still alive and that he would do everything in his power to bring his dear friend back.

(End of oneshot,sorry that its a lot shorter than usual,but I been rather discouraged to write since I'm having serious writer block for all my stories.....and I really wanna continue my Guardian Angel book....
