I make it to the top to see the chancellor waiting and watching the moon, he is also checking to make sure the last minute preparations are done.

"Chancellor, good evening." I bowed my head and curtsied.

"Ah Lauren, you look absolutely beautiful my child. Are you prepared to ascend?" the chancellor smiles at me as he focuses his attention on me.

"Well as ready as can be I guess, I am still scared and nervous with the prediction of high magic." I am honest with him, he went through this as well. The only issue I am having is my magic prediction is higher then even his, and our history lesson is on how our chancellor almost died due to the amount of power he received.

"It will be tough my child but we are all here for you as a coven. You will get through this and become the next chancellor." he beamed proudly at me, I just nodded my head and looked up at the moon again.

The time was near, it was ten minutes to midnight now and that is when the pain first hit me. The chancellor had stepped out to gather the attention of the coven and to start the chant in an ancient language so I was standing by myself.

It was a sudden pain that shot from my toes up my left leg, as soon as that quit I felt a quick shot of pain shoot down my right leg. Just as I was thinking that it wasn't bad at all I looked up at the beautiful glow of the moon and BAM I was hit with an intense pain all over my body.

I cried out with a sudden scream as I dropped to my knees on the grass, the searing pain was so intense that my eyes were watering while they were closed, it didn't matter how I moved or what I did the pain just intensified. I could feel myself fading in and out of consciousness, still screaming and making weird pain filled noises.

As I was fading back and forth between passing out and being conscious when I felt something rough and wet run up my arm, the pain subsided momentarily. I didn't care what it was it helped the pain so I blindly reached out to grab what ever that was that helped with the pain.

I felt a paw and just kept grabbing, not caring what it was. I caught a firm toned chest and wrapped my arms around the body, the heat of the body soothed the pain. A pair of strong arms wrapped around my body and picked me up off the ground.

I quickly opened my eyes to see Beau holding me, he was completely naked. I really didn't have time to appreciate or really look at more then his face as he crashed his lips against mine. The kiss was one full of passion as his hands held me firmly against his body. Our tongues danced together in perfect rhythm, my hands tangled in his hair and my legs firmly wrapped around his waist.

The kiss made my body burn, the pain turned into a craving, a heat so intense that nothing seemed to satisfy it. Before anything could get any more serious Cain pulled away and whispered to me.

"I love you already. You are perfect and the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I will be near by, cloaked by your friends spell. Draw on my strength to get through the pain, just focus on our bond that is already formed. Someone is coming, I have to go." with that he gently set me on the ground and took off in the form of a wolf.

As soon as my body touched the cold ground the pain mixed into the burning sensation and I let out a loud scream again. The chancellor my father and brother came over and picked me up and carried me into the middle of the circle. I was glad as I couldn't move, the pain was back and I couldn't do anything but whimper with my eyes closed.

I tried to take a deep breath but it hurt so bad, so I focused on my bond with Beau. I could feel it pulse as it strengthens, I could also feel my powers as the moon beams light up the area. Suddenly there is a bright flash of light and my body feels as if its floating. I feel a snap in my mind and instantly I can feel Beau's emotions.

I feel my powers surge through my body, its a tingly and warm feeling that just flows around my body. The bright light dies down and I feel my feet touch the grass, I feel amazing. The full powers were instantly absorbed into my body, I could feel the mate bond with Beau and everything felt perfect.

"How do you feel little bird?" Clayton and Shauna were the first ones to my side. Followed by my parents, my brother, Trevor and Janelle. I beamed at them all feeling such a surge of energy and power flowing through me.

"I feel amazing! I want to go do so many things all at the same time. Did you know the pain was so intense I almost passed out. Oh and guess what it was like this big swoosh of light and suddenly I was like, almost like floating. It felt all tingly and warm and so good. I couldn't believe...." Shauna put her hand over my mouth to stop me from talking.

"We get it, lets go dance and blow off some steam." Trevor cheered as he lead us all over to the actual party going on. Everyone was wishing me a happy birthday, congratulating me and checking up on me. I felt loved by everyone around me.

'You look beautiful.' Beau's voice floated through my mind.

'Thank you. I miss you.' I told him honestly.

'I promised you I would be near by. Both Marco and I are here to see our women. Your friends have all provided us with charms to hide ourselves so we can be here tonight.' he sounded smug as he explained himself to me.

'I promise I will come to you tomorrow. Please be safe, I.. I love you to Beau.' I blushed as I said that. Shauna noticed it and elbowed me.

"What?" she whispered.

"I can talk to Beau in my mind... I think wolves call that a mind link if I remember correctly. Can't you talk to Marco like that?" I question quietly.

"Yeah I can and its the mind link. Every wolf has it." she smiles fondly as she looks over towards a bush.

"Can we see them before the party starts?" I ask even quieter.

"Yeah lets go." with that we were very sneaky and went into the brush to hide from the party goers to see our mates.
