Chapter-2

"Ishan, you remember na I had dinner plans with my childhood bestie? Be prepared at 7," Aditi said to Ishan over the phone.

"Oh, yes. I will, don't worry," Ishan replied

Ishan put down the phone, a small smile playing on his lips as he thought about the dinner plan Aditi had reminded him of. He glanced at the clock and noted that he had a few hours before he needed to get ready. Deciding to make use of the time, he headed to the GT camp for a quick check-in.

As he approached the camp, he could hear the sounds of laughter and splashing water. The lively atmosphere was infectious, and Ishan's smile widened as he entered the grounds. He made his way towards the pool area, where the noise was coming from, and saw a group of players in the midst of a spirited volleyball game.

The moment they spotted him, the energy seemed to amplify. "Ishan, you're here!" someone called out, and soon the entire group was beckoning him to join them.

Shubman, the captain was already in the pool, his toned body glistening with water under the afternoon sun. His eyes briefly met Ishan's, a flicker of something unreadable passing through them, before he looked away. "About time you joined us," he called out, a playful grin on his face that didn't quite reach his eyes.

Ishan slid into the pool, the cool water a refreshing contrast to the warm air. He felt a rush of exhilaration as he joined the game, quickly getting into the rhythm. He was put on the opposite team from Shubman, and the competitive spirit between them only added to the fun.

As the game progressed, Ishan couldn't help but notice Shubman's athleticism. The way he moved, his muscles flexing with each powerful hit, was mesmerizing.

T

he game was intense, filled with laughter and good-natured taunts. Ishan found himself stealing glances at Shubman more often than he intended. The way the water droplets clung to his skin, the effortless way he commanded the game, it all had Ishan's mind wandering.

But Shubman seemed different today, more distant. He avoided Ishan's eyes, and whenever their bodies brushed against each other in the heat of the game, Shubman would pull away quickly, almost too quickly.

Eventually, the game ended with Shubman's team narrowly winning. Both teams cheered, high-fiving and congratulating each other. Ishan's heart was still racing from the exertion and excitement, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

"Good game," Ishan said, approaching Shubman with a smile.

"Yeah, you too," Shubman replied, his voice clipped. He turned away quickly, heading towards the open shower area by the poolside.

Ishan followed, his mind racing with confusion. Under the cascading water, he watched as Shubman stood under a shower, his back to Ishan. The water streamed down his toned back, highlighting every muscle. Ishan's eyes traced the lines of Shubman's body, feeling a heat rise within him that had nothing to do with the temperature.

Suddenly, Shubman slipped. Instinctively, Ishan reached out to catch him. Their bodies collided, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. Ishan's hands were on Shubman's chest, feeling the hard muscles beneath his fingertips. Shubman steadied himself, his arms wrapping around Ishan to prevent them both from falling.

They were close, closer than they had ever been. Ishan could feel Shubman's breath against his skin, the warmth of his body contrasting with the cool water. His heart pounded in his chest, and he wondered if Shubman could hear it.

"Thanks," Shubman murmured, his voice low and husky. His eyes locked onto Ishan's, and there was something in his gaze that made Ishan's skin burn.

"Anytime," Ishan replied, his voice barely above a whisper. He was acutely aware of every point of contact between them, the way Shubman's muscles felt under his hands, the steady rise and fall of his chest.

For a moment, they just stood there, the sound of the water the only thing breaking the silence. Ishan's mind raced, a thousand thoughts and feelings swirling within him. He couldn't look away from Shubman, couldn't break the spell of the moment.

Finally, Shubman stepped back abruptly, breaking the spell. "We should go," he said, his tone brusque as he turned away, avoiding Ishan's gaze.

"Yeah," Ishan agreed, his heart still racing.

Coach Ashish observed the interaction between Ishan and Shubman with a keen eye, his brow furrowing slightly as he noted the tension between them.

As Ishan and Shubman moved to the open shower area, Coach Ashish couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He watched as Shubman slipped, and Ishan reached out to catch him. The way their bodies collided, the way they lingered in each other's space—it was all too intimate, too charged with something he couldn't quite put his finger on.

When they finally stepped back, Coach Ashish approached Shubman, his expression serious. "Shubman," he said, his voice firm but not unkind. "I think it's best if you give Ishan some space. This isn't your Ishan, Shubman. Remember, he's straight and has a fiancée. We don't want a repeat of what happened last time. You need to draw boundaries for your own good.He will marry and go, live his life, you have to play for you, your country. So be cautious about your mental health. "

Shubman's shoulders tensed at the reminder.Shubman nodded, feeling a pang of guilt and confusion wash over him. He had never intended for things to escalate like they had, but now he realized the gravity of the situation.

Ishan and Aditi enjoyed the warm hospitality of her friend's home. The conversation flowed easily, laughter filling the air as they caught up on old times and shared stories from their lives.

"So you are here for the marriage? "-Aditi's friend asked her.

"Yes,And Ishan bought an IPL franchise, so this was the reason too"

"Umm,Which one?"

"Gujrat Titans"

After dinner, as they lingered in the cozy living room, Aditi's friend pulled her aside, a solemn expression on her face. "Aditi, there's something I need to tell you," she began, her voice low and serious.

Aditi's brow furrowed in concern. "What is it?" she asked, her tone cautious.

Her friend took a deep breath before continuing. "You know GT, right? Ishan's franchise?"

Aditi nodded, her curiosity piqued. "Of course, what about it?"

Her friend hesitated, choosing her words carefully. "Well, the thing is... GT's captain, Shubman... he's my patient."

Aditi's eyes widened in surprise, her mind racing to make sense of the revelation. "Shubman? Your patient?" she repeated, her voice tinged with disbelief.

Her friend nodded solemnly. "Yes, and... it's complicated," she admitted, her gaze troubled. "He's been struggling with some emotional issues, and... well, it involves Ishan."

Aditi felt a knot form in her stomach as she processed the information. "What do you mean it involves Ishan?Ishan never even met him!" she asked, her voice tinged with concern.

Her friend took a deep breath, steeling herself for what she was about to reveal. "Shubman has been in an imaginary relationship with Ishan for the past three years," she confessed, her words heavy with the weight of the truth. "He fell in love with Ishan's locket, the one with Ishan's photo and name on it. It's... it's been difficult for him."

"And Ishan doesn't know about any of this?"

Her friend shook her head, a troubled expression on her face. "No,From what Shubman said he doesn’t and I don't know how he'll react when he finds out," she admitted, her voice tinged with worry. "This informations about my patient, well they are prohibited to share,But I think you should know, especially considering your relationship with Ishan."

Aditi nodded slowly, her mind whirling with the implications of the revelation. As they rejoined the group, she couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled over her.

As they drove home, Aditi's mind was consumed with the weight of the revelation her friend had shared.

Finally, unable to contain her curiosity any longer, she turned to Ishan, her voice hesitant. "Ishan," she began, her tone filled with trepidation, "what do you feel about Shubman?"

The question hung in the air,Aditi held her breath, her heart pounding in her chest as she awaited Ishan's response.

Ishan's gaze remained fixed on the road ahead, his expression unreadable. A tense silence stretched between them, broken only by the hum of the engine and the distant sounds of the night.

Aditi took a deep breath, steeling herself. For little did she know, the secrets they held would soon come to light, and the truth would be more devastating than she could ever imagine.

[A/N: Before all of you say I am going to do injustice with Aditi,no,it Won't be the case here.
